Rooms were dirty. No lights for more than 2 hours in middle of night. To noisy at nights specially with the standard of guests not the same as before. Gym is filthy and the breakfast standard has gone down.

The hotel was just away from the busy road, & quiet enough. On arrival I found my shower shampoo & gel were empty, this was fixed very quickly. The toilet seat threatened to eject me off. This took way too long to even be looked at. The repair meant the seat wouldn't easily go down past 45°. After 4 days, a new seat assembly was fitted. My laundry was ready by 10.00 1 day, but after 18.00, & a lot of chasing, it was finally delivered !!!.
So as a conclusion, my stay was ok, but let down by poor communication from the manager & staff.

Cleanliness issues

Sometimes when you enter the hotel room for the first time, you wonder if it was cleaned and the sheets were changed. It is an awful feeling that's what you get when you enter. Bathroom (toilet seat, sink, doors, walls) stained. Food left by the previous occupant lying by the door - thankfully outside the room. Awful towels.

Terrible experience at Citrus, Goa.

The main entrance is on a narrow road. No place for vehicles to park & off-load our bags. Shortage of housekeeping staff, so we had to carry our own bags to the hotel room & back too, when we complained Sandeep asked us to leave the hotel immediately. Bathroom had no exhaust fan or ventilation, so the room starts stinking badly, rude housekeeping staff. Overall not worth paying Rs.8000/- per night for a premier category of room. Citrus in Calangute Goa is not managed well at all. Please think 100 times before booking this hotel.

I would not go back

Poor standard of cleanliness and upkeep. The room was dirty with broken cupboards and unsafe electrics. Grounds were similarly dirty. Food was plentiful but poor in comparison to the rest of our experience in India

Not upto basic minimum standards

On arrival at the hotel the room, the room was unhygienic, smelled badly and showed sign of black mould and soiled linen. The extra bed provided was wholly unsatisfactory and of unacceptable quality and hygiene. Alternative rooms and facilities were equally poor and dirty. After a number of discussions with the General Manager, Head of Housekeeping and Front of House staff members, it was agreed that the full cost would be refunded and written confirmation has been supplied to me directly.

Badly needs renovation. Rooms are damp. Paint pealing off. Bathrooms fixtures are faulty. Food preparation and presentation is major issue. Overall no value for money. Not recommended.

Poor service. MISLEADING PHOTOS

- The hotel has the worst entrance, which they have hidden from their photos. All taxis have to stop in the middle of the road as there is no parking anywhere locally.
- The pool and other photos of the outside do not match what is actually there.
- The service was poor from start to beginning.

Great location in Calangute Beach

It's a nice oasis on the stretch of road hotel was on. Reception was expedient but the hotel policy of payment upfront for whole stay seemed a bit tacky. Room was adequately clean. Vents could use dusting/cleaning as well as the walls of the bathroom. Felt secure except that our balcony door wouldn't lock. Front desk tried to convince me that I was safe on the 2nd floor and didn't need it to lock but I insisted so they did fix it. Housekeeping and staff at the restaurant were amazing!!! Breakfast buffet was extensive with cooks on site to make fresh omelettes. Only disappointment was all \"hot\" foods were less than lukewarm:( Location is also amazing. Close to everything ie beaches, shops, restaurants etc

Don't book.

The hotel should really not be allowed to rent rooms for people to stay. There is a very serious mould issue and a lot of the blocks had a plastic sheet covering the exterior, as if under renovation, yet there were rooms still being occupied.

We stayed one night and cut our stay there short as it really was not suitable for habitation.

I will say that the staff and management were very kind and did refund us for the accommodation we had paid in advance.

I still can't get the smell of mould out of my backpack and that is after one night.

The hotel is very average.

My experience was average ,I was very disappointed in the fact that most of the food that I ordered from room service wasn't available which was very frustrating.The pool area is very small as well.The breakfast buffet was a complete disappointment ,it definitely wasn't catered with foreigners in mind,they need more variety.The staff at the reception were pleasant and so were the rest of the staff that I came into contact with.

Comfortable hotel near calangute beach

The hotel room was clean, comfortable and modern. The staff was very helpful too.
There were a couple facilities issues that were annoying. The wifi was unusable, it would connect for a minute and then disconnect repeatedly. There was a strong sulfur smell near one of the buildings that we had to pass through to leave the hotel area. And although the included breakfast buffet was pretty good, one table of food was under the A/C unit and kept getting water dripped on it (I clearly avoided this food).

The Hotel has a congested layout with 3 Blocks seperated by a small walkway....the pool is overcrowded as it is tiny with hardly any space....kids and parents jostling for space in the same pool....far away from the beach (1.2 km walk)....food is excellent with good staff...AC works only when room is completely dark...inadequate space for moving around inside the room

Pleasant hotel within walking distance of beach

The rooms are large and comfortable although the rear facing rooms can be noisey when the generator starts up due to power cuts which happen all the time.

Calmness in the middle of hustle bustle!

Amazing hotel.. thats what citrus goa is... A resort within the city... close to the beach.. close to the market and restaurants...nice parking.. very pleasant staff..

The breakfast rocked and was real yum too... Their dal makhani from room service was so delicious my husband licked the bowl clean!

The soothing trees, decor and the swimming pool.. all made for a perfect holiday.. We had a 4 poster bed which made us feel like royalty...

If you want to stay in calangute... choose citrus!

A nice hotel in a great location. But, please be careful with a Great Christmas Gala Dinner - it is a terrible techno-disco- screaming-shouting event. Do not attend unless you are an Indian.

Would definitely stay again

Citrus Goa is a hidden oasis among the crazy, tourist ridden Calagute Beach. Super close the beach and main hub of the area, surrounded by shops and restaurants. The hotel is extremely clean and well-kept, and the staff was super helpful. Great pool and decent restaurant that's open 24 hours. Only complaint was multiple issues logging onto the Wi-fi, which had an unnecessarily complex user name and password that required you to log in everytime; and only sometimes worked.

Good bargain for money, close to most activities

Had a fine stay at this hotel. The Power situation was rather unstable, with frequent Power interruptions. Spa was very fine. Friendly staff, and a very good location regarding shopping, restaurants and Beach.The Maxi bar in the room was impressive, at very good prices compared to what you could buy for around the corner.

Great location, walkable distance to the Calangute beach. In a good neighbourhood, a lot of restaurants in the vicinity. Friendly staff, clean rooms. All in all a comfortable stay! However, NYE is not the best time to Goa if you are averse to crowds. Wifi internet was chargeable and not of great quality, that's something the hotel should work on.

4 Star hotel would hardly get same rating in Europe or US. More like 3 stars. Nice staff specially taking care of the rooms but the hotel does not live up to western standards. Only one treadmil and not properly functioning in the fitness room. When asked front desk if there is anywhere to run outside, I was told \"no, people come here on holiday\". Although there is a perfectly fine running beach half mile away. Good variety breakfast buffet with enough western choices. We did not use the pool being discouraged by other fully clothed bathers (Indian custom).

Very good stay at Citrus in Monsoon

Our stay at Citrus near Calangute beach proved to be a very good decision. Being close to Baga and Calangute beaches, everything is in walking distance from the Calangute beach and driving length from Baga. The hotel staff were warm and helpful. Room was quite comfortable with all basic facilities you can expect from a 3 star. Citrus experience hits you as soon as you enter the room with green and yellow shades, etc. The pool is small, but good. Buffet breakfast at the restaurant (there is only one) was good but service at restaurant needs improvement in terms of promptness (servers seem confused at times). Variety in food was ok, would have loved to see more variety. Overall, it was a cosy, comfortable stay at Calangute. The property being in middle of the commercial area, the views from rooms are not that great but who has the time to stay indoors when you are in North Goa! Citrus also offers a workable gym and spa along with pool and other games.

Wanna stay near Baga...this is it

If you want to stay near Baga beach with a decent,clean hotel, here it is. Location of the hotel is not so great. Its in the middle of crowded place, but its quite near to beach.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 days. It was fine. One of the days it rained like hell and our room got swamped, i was shocked..! , luckily they arranged another room immediately. What an architect who designed this hotel...!

Food was excellent ,breakfast had lots of options. Dinner was also good. Again when it rained restaurant also got swamped :-)

If you like calm and green place this is not the place you want to be :-). But if you want to enjoy Baga beach night life , this hotel is one of the choices.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. It has a nice swimming pool and it is close to the Calangute beach (7 minutes walk). The room was comfortable and clean and the hotel staff was more than kind. If you are looking for a location which is near the city cemter and yet is quiet, this is the best one to stay in and it has a wonderful breakfast, the best we had in India.

Excellent hospitality, nice location

The hotel is at a walkable distance from Calangute beach, and is right opposite to Mira Hotel which is a well-known landmark.

The rooms are spacious and reasonably comfortable, and are maintained very well. The rooms are cleaned and complimentary mineral water and coffee-maker accompaniments are provided everyday. The hotel has a decent swimming pool (only 4' to 4'6\" deep, though) that is open from 8:00AM to 7:00PM, and the staff do not make any fuss about early or late use of the pool. The breakfast buffet was very good. The front-desk, restaurant and maintenance staff are all courteous and always ready to help.

They have some arrangements with travel providers for individual/group sight-seeing in North or South Goa that you can choose at reasonable rates (and probably at the not best of service levels, I should add). The restaurant did not have too many ala-carte options for lunch and dinner, and I found the rates a bit on the expensive side. So, if you can grab a 3-buffet-meals-deal, that may be considered, but also factor in the fact that you are likely to be out for lunch and dinner if you are in Goa. Who wants to travel to Goa to stay inside the room?

Oh, forgot to mention - they have a decent mini-bar (that they call maxi-bar) inside the room and you can use it at fairly reasonable rates. Beer is the only liquor they keep in it, though. But you can always get anything else you want from just outside the hotel. And the hotel is right next to the busy shopping area of Calangute too.

Highly recommended if you are planning to stay in Calangute and if the rates are within your budget.
