Our stay at Le Bailli de Suffren exceeded our expectations. The location and amazing views were spectacular. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. They went out of their way on several occasions to offer recommendations and assistance for local sights. We had excellent meals at both the main restaurant and beach restaurant. The daily buffet breakfast was fresh, abundant and delicious. We discovered the beautiful walking path just outside the hotel that became our morning routine. We couldn’t get enough of the gorgeous beach with its smooth sand and crystal clear warm water. We really hope to return one day soon!

Overall, we had a lovely stay. The setting is beautiful and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The food at the main restaurant was very good and the breakfast is terrific.

The views from our two terrace rooms were spectacular and sleeping with the doors wide open to the sounds of the ocean was absolutely perfect.

The rooms are spartan and modest but the beds were very comfy and the storage was ample for the small room size.

The resort definitely attracts families so there were many babies and young children. In our opinion, the furnishings seemed a bit tired and basic for its price point and is due for updates/enhancements. Also, it is probably a good policy to toss in a couple of complimentary bottles of water to each room consistent with many other resorts as opposed to the singular 6 euro bottle in the minibar.

It’s a winding trek to St Tropez which can be intimidating at night. We sadly only ventured in once. The old port and Place des Lices market were great fun as were the beach clubs in Pampelonne, however, the traffic and crowds were unreal and the roads tricky. We later recalibrated our restaurant selections and dined at night at restaurants within 20 mins of the resort.

Very peaceful and tranquil. The area severely lacks in restaurants. Also, for some reason, the hotel governs the air conditioning at night. For those of us that like it cold, thats miserable. Good hotel. Nice service. Food was average at best and overpriced. Sleeping was miserable because of air conditioning issues.

Disappointing stay, rude service, book elsewhere

We were looking forward to visit this property but our expectations felt short. Our stay was very disappointing, totally not worth the price. Note that the day prior, we stayed at Hotel La Calanque which was better located and almost half the price. View was breathtaking, staff was way nicer and food was very good. Therefore, paying more than double for this hotel is simply unacceptable.

Key items:
-Service is terrible, definitively not up to the expectations for this kind of hotel. Staff at the Loup de Mer was extremely rude. For a 2 night stay, I’ve seen multiple customers angry at the staff because of multiple reasons, including very poor service.
-Food at Le Loup de Mer was terrible, especially given the price. We ate there 2 nights because we were tired and didn’t feel like leaving the hotel, and we definitively regretted it. Food at the Loup de Mer is the worst we had in France during our 2 weeks stay!
-Other disappointing items: view from the room was not like the pictures (we paid to have a sea view but there was a big tree hiding the sea) and hair dryer was bad.
-When we left, we told the receptionist we were quite disappointed by our stay. She called a manager, who was super rude. He didn’t even offered an apology (which would have been the least). They offered to take out 39 euros out of a +$1,500 euros stay for 2 nights. It was a total joke and shows that this hotel doesn’t care about customers experience.
-Pool amenities are nice, but not worth it.

Hotel is overall great as always. Pool, food, wine, restaurant staff and rooms are good. Even if it was a bit windy I really enjoyed it. Covid masks are creating a very special athmosphere.

Music on the terrace was excellent.

I would have expected a bit more flexibility from front desk staff when changing rooms between two different reservations. Very hard on deadline leaving my first room early, and just as hard on checking in late into the new room. This was a bit dissapointing.

Since 'renovation' the rooms are laid out illogically with beds in the middle, so there is much less space. They also no longer have coffee machines in the room. Just instant nescafe so not the four star standard. Most amazing: they have removed the baths so in this supposedly four star hotel, the 'bathrooms' have no baths. Saved by the incredible location, hard working staff and good food. But a hotel that appears to have made a conscious step backwards.

This is an excellent hotel, very well maintained with a high level of outstanding service. It is very comfortable with places to sit around pool and on beach, very pleasant restaurants and all maintained to a high level. Food quality particularly the breakfast and beach restaurant is good. Restaurants are very nicely located but main one has limited options. Pool and beach are very nice and well maintained. Overall very little to find fault with and I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a nice hotel, each room with a sea view. Pool and lounging area was pleasant, though quite small. All staff offered a friendly 'bonjour' each day. Check-in was ok, but certain things need to be made clearer by staff. E.g. They give you one card for towels which you submit to receive a towel on your first day. But when we wanted towels on subsequent days, we were always asked each time for our card and had to explain we'd already given it in. Not a problem, but an inconvenience which needs to be addressed. Also, we were not told that we had to reserve sun loungers on the beach and almost missed out. We were also not told that there was a fitness centre. Breakfast was adequate. Parking out front can be limited, though there is parking further along he road. Overall, a nice stay, but staff need to be more informative

A relaxing stay \"away from it all\".
Hotel has a great position on the beach with great views from the bedrooms of the beach, sea and nearby islands. It was calm and quiet. There is a small village 5-10minutes walk up a (steep) hill with a few essential shops/post office and a restaurant.
Breakfast buffet very enjoyable and taken outside in warm morning sunshine.
When we stayed (middle of May), you could go down to the pool at any time and still have a great choice of sun beds/parasol. The pool is heated and warm.
The hotel bar was well used before dinner, again, people enjoying the warm evening sunshine outside on the terrace, but, no-one appeared to go to the bar after dinner. The bar was too bright for late evening, and could do to have a more subdued, relaxed lighting for late evening which would entice more people to linger after dinner.
The main restaurant was expensive for the food offered with a very limited menu.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pool & beach were lovely, although the pool could do with a bit of repair work - but understandable at the end of the season. Our room was fantastic, as was the view! - the only minor issue was the hand held shower, when hooked on to the wall the shower head swung back and forth - very messy! The staff were all very professional, some seemed a bit 'guest weary' and could have been friendlier, but were nonetheless very good and efficient.

Relaxing vacation excellent service

Good overall experience. Clean, beautiful hotel with great service in a lovely location. The private beach and professional staff are what set this hotel apart. It is slightly isolated and requires a car to get anywhere. The village where the hotel is located is very limited, and the hotel restaurant is extremely nice, if not too nice for an average meal. Overall, amazing and memorable stay. Would highly recommend for a romantic, relaxing get away.

A private beach, professional and friendly staff and a gourmet restaurant; that's not a bad start but add spotlessly clean and comfortable Provencal villa style rooms and here we have the makings of a fine resort style hotel with a personal touch. There are two other bar/restaurants on site; one on the beach, the other next to the pool. We booked for 3 nights but extended to 4 and it was a shame we couldn't stay longer. Dropping off to sleep to the sound of waves lapping the shore was true luxury.

Beautiful hotel!

Most of the staff was wonderful and the room was spotless. The dinner restaurant was mediocre and didn't come close to justifying the prices. The pool needed a good scrubbing since it was missing tiles and had mold in the grout. But the hotel facility itself was outstanding.

Wonderfully situated on the waterfront with a small private beach, large pool area and three restaurants. Helpful and friendly staff. This is not a cheap hotel but it's in a brilliant location, with great views over the Med towards Port Cros and Levant islands. It's close to St Tropez but in a far quieter area. Only downside is it's a bit of a trek from either Nice or Marseille airports, but well worth it once you've arrived.

A most enjoyable stay. To be picky the room was quite small to be termed a suite, which suggests rather more than 2 chairs and a table, but was adequate enough for a short stay. The pool and beach areas were delightful and the view superb. We found the reception staff to be very pleasant and helpful and quick to accede to our request for a different room. We didn't eat in the hotel as we thought it seemed poor value, particularly the breakfast at €24, but we found very pleasant restaurants nearby.

Overall I would recommend this hotel highly, although I suspect it could feel crowded at high season.

Lovely place, lovely staff

This is a lovely hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. The location is a little difficult to get to as it's on a one-way road but once you get used to this it's fine. The small beach was perfect for the number of guests at the hotel and the pool and surrounding area was excellent. Overall the hotel was very well maintained and a credit to the staff that work there. We didn't eat at the restaurants as they are quite expensive. However, the food may have justified the price. Our only slight complaint would be that the (huge) bed was not very comfortable and the price of items in the mini-bar was ridiculous (although this has been my experience at many other hotels too). Overall we would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Great location and views

Of all the hotels we stayed in this trip, by the end of the trip we rated this one the best. The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful/ Our room was beautiful. The breakfast was on a beautiful terrace overlooking the ocean. The only reservation was the dinner which was not great value, so local restaurants (especially The Cainerie) may be a better option.

Fantastiskt Le Bailly de Suffren

Ett vackert och classy hotel i ett fantastiskt område Rayol Canadel med fantastisk natur och strand.
Vi har stannat på hotellet i tre nätter i ett frontview rum med terrass. Utsikten och känslan av den är svårslagen. Rummet är inrett i Provence country style, stort och fräscht.
Uteområde, restauranger och poolen är vackra och genomtänkta i varje detalj. Lux och glamour känslor i allt. Genuin femstjärnig oldfashioned service i barer och restauranger. Vi åt middag alla tre kvällar på hotellet. Första kvällen på strandrestaurangen och andra kvällar på huvudrestaurangen som befinner sig på hotellets terrass och erbjuder gourmeträtter till middag. Beachrestaurangen belägen på en vacker strand med outstanding sea/sunset view. Atmosfären är avslappnad och personalen är serviceinriktad. Maten var okey, krävs mer kärlek till vall av råvaror så som fräschare sallad och val av potatisen till pommes, som bestod till hälften av oätliga mini restbitar.
Huvudrestaurangen har lämnat en fin känsla av femstjärnig service och vackra, väl sammansatta och smakrika rätter med gott vin. Rekommenderas varmt att besöka.
Jag firade min födelsedag på hotellet och vill speciellt säga stort tack till personalen som har gjort min dag och hjälpt min pojkvän med alla förberedelser, blommor, mm.

Séjour très agréable, le personnel est très aimable, l’emplacement de l’hôtel est excellent. Les chambres sont propres. Juste un petit hic: les gens restant dans la chambre au dessus de la nôtre mettaient leurs cendres de cigarette sur notre terrasse et la terrasse n’était pas balayée.

Die Unterkunft war sehr gut. Entspannung ist überall möglich- Balkon oder Terrasse am Pool oder am Strand. Wenn man wollte konnte man sich Bikes ausleihen - gratis (allerdings die E-Bikes haben eine Gebühr pro Bike 20€ ) Fahrradwege sind super.
Ein kleiner „Kritik“punkt: Das Hotel bietet ein sehr tolles und schmackhaftes Abendessen an, allerdings ist es meines Erachtens etwas überteuert für die „Menge“ die man bekommt.

Leuk verblijf gehad. Ontbijt was heel uitgebreid, enkel jammer dat de koffiemachine niet zo goed werkte (gans ons verblijf) maar de beste pannenkoeken ooit 😉. Kamer heel netjes en leuk ingericht. Uitzicht gewoonweg fantastisch. Twee restaurants waar het lekker eten was. Vriendelijk personeel. Mooie baai met propere gedeeltelijke private strand. Een rustige leuke vakantie gehad. 👍👍

Exceptionnel emplacement, la chambre située au rez-de-chaussée côté piscine, était pratique et surtout équipée d’une grande terrasse . Les dîners d’une grande qualité et des desserts aux saveurs surprenantes à consommer sans modération. La plage au pied de l’hôtel était peu fréquentée à cette période une eau transparente à 24 …tout était parfait. Nous reviendrons.

Trois jours de rêves. Chambre avec balcon et le lit qui donnent directement sur la mer. Piscine, plage privée.
Pour l'hôtel comme pour son restaurant le Loup de Mer, tous les membres du personnel sont à très l'écoute, et toujours avec beaucoup de gentillesse et de disponibilité. La maitre d'hôtel du restaurant fait l'effort de retenir le nom des clients ce qui humanise les relations.
Il faut découvrir ce petit paradis !

Aucun service en rapport avec le supposé standing

Pas d'eau chaude dans la chambre.
On me demande de patienter 15 mn à 22H00 puis pas de solution pour la nuit.
On me dit que le technicien intervient à 7H le matin.
Nouvel appel à la réception le lendemain matin à 9H30 car toujours pas d'eau chaude : un technicien passe, constate.
Seule solution apportée : proposition de m'accompagner dans une autre chambre à 11h00 pour disposer d'une salle de bain avec eau chaude.
Départ : je règle le minibar : 1 badoit et on me demande si à part l'absence d'eau chaude tout va bien.
Appel cette semaine : la directrice de l'établissement est occupée; elle ne propose pas de me rappeler mais me fait transmettre que l'on consent à le proposer 10% sur une prochaine réservation hors vacances scolaires...
PS : salade de fruit du matin servie dans un récipient plastique pot à sauce asiatique :-) : la cuillère ne permet pas de rentrer dans le pot...
