My girlfriend and I stayed for a long weekend and we were blown away by the immaculate hotel, world class service and delicious food and drink here. The beach is beautiful, gardens pristine and rooms immaculate. It was extra special as we got engaged out here and the hotel staff were exceptional in helping me create a private, memorable occasion for us. Special thanks to Francesca, Matteo and Diego for their exceptional service. La Villa del Re holds a special place in our hearts and we will certainly be back. Grazie mille!

The restaurant is very good (especially the one upstairs) it's a shame that the one at the bar isn't as good! €30 for a Caesar salad that isn't worth it, it's disappointing! This was by far one of our favorite places we’ve ever traveled to! This was our final stop on our two week honeymoon trip around Italy and it was the perfect place to end our journey. From the moment you walk in, you can tell how much the staff values the quality of your stay. No detail was missed and everyone was extremely kind and customer service oriented. We really enjoyed our stay at this magnificent hotel.
The staff and service is first class. The decor is the high end Sardi decor I was hoping to experience. Dinner at La Palma was superbe, not to mention the romantic ambiance and elegant decor. The daily breakfasts were a great way to start the day and were presented in such a fine fashion. Lunch near the pool area was also very good. The grounds and vegetation are stunning and the beach is beautiful. This is a beautiful venue to recharge the batteries. Would highly recommend!

This is a truly beautiful hotel. Everything about it is luxurious from the pool and beach to the rooms and restaurants The staff are friendly and so attentive. It’s quite remote so a car would be advisable however the hotel can arrange taxis to restaurants but there is a surcharge after 10 pm. There’s nothing really negative to say about this hotel Its a perfect retreat if you want relaxation and peace and quiet.The drinks are on the expensive side but I guess it’s what you pay in hotels of this calibre I would definitely stay again

This is a very beautiful property with attentive staff. Perfect place to come and rest as there’s pretty much nothing else to do. During my stay I found that the beach in the pictures is not what I found. It appears we stayed either during very high tide or that there has been a lot of beach erosion since the photographs were taken.
Again, this is the perfect place to come if you want to cut yourself off from the world and just rest and relax.

This is a beautiful location on a very long stretch of beach. It is a true 5 star property and 5 star experience with fantastic service and professional staff. The rooms are large, well appointed and very clean. The property is landscaped beautifully and well maintained. The restaurants are first rate. Stay here if you are in Castiadas.

found bite marks in the bread at breakfast - bread clearly being reused which is unsanitary and ruined the dining experience for me for the rest of the trip

I have videos of black ants in the hotel room. Cleaning schedule seemed irratic with the cleaners often coming at strange times - room was never really cleaned. They just made the bed.

Staff clearly overworked with the same staff on at breakfast working all the way until dinner service or later

Staff seemed somewhat annoyed that we elected to use their transfer services frequently to dine outside the resort - we were left waiting for 1 hour to return at one point after notification. While we were fine to wait - it was the one time no one greeted us on our return and felt pointed

Fabulous hotel with incredible beach!

We absolutely loved the hotel and beach. The ocean was heaven! Staff were all very friendly and happy to assist. They also had a great breakfast! We thought the sheets were low quality and mattress needs to be updated. We also thought they could have had free water refill stations as we felt the number of plastic bottles we went through was ridiculous, especially for a hotel on the beach. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends and family. It exceeded our expectations!

Wow. This property is beautiful from top to bottom. On top of that I have never encountered hospitality of this magnitude. Everything from the moment I drove in had me feeling luxurious and like a celebrity. The room was great , staff were phenomenal, breakfast options were amazing, dinner as well (lot of options around the property too), pool and beach location was super picturesque. Anything we needed they catered to and it exceeded my expectations. This hotel set the standard for hospitality for me going forward. They even gave us a courtesy room after check out which was very nice.

The staff and property was exceptional! We absolutely loved this place. I would rate the food 4 out of 5 since we ate every meal at the resorts’ restaurants, and felt like some meals were a bit hit or miss. Ultimately, the rates for the food were quite reasonable and fair for the experience we received. We paid for an upgraded room with a sea view and really enjoyed it. I would highly recommend the upgrade. The hotel is 1 hour away from the airport and hiring a car will cost you $125 Euros each way ($250 Euro) for round trip. So be prepared to pay that for your commute. The hotel was very accommodating and is able to prepare the arrangements for you which was very easy and highly recommended. The poolside food was great and but not cheap. Cost as much as your dinner items at the strictly enforced dress code restaurants. So bring long pants if you want to eat at one of the two restaurants, otherwise you will be denied entry even if it’s 90 degrees out. I thought this strictly enforced dress code was ridiculous, even though I was wearing quite expensive dress shorts and expensive attire. I was forced to change and was embarrassed. It wasn’t like I was wearing flip flops and swimwear. I could understand that. Additionally, the pool side drinks were quite expensive and not very good in my opinion. If you are paying $20 Euros for a drink, it should be amazing and worth it. Ultimately, we enjoyed our stay but the mosquitoes were everywhere and they ate my girlfriend alive.

A bona fide paradise with stunning hospitality

La Villa Del Rei is a slice of paradise in Sardinia. We had an immensely lovely time there. Beach holidays are my favourite kind and I can wholly vouch that the private beach access of this hotel alone makes the stay worth it. It is a world class beach and we appreciated the hospitality of the lifeguards (especially Davide) and the complimentary use of SUPs and kayaks.

The service and hospitality at this hotel was outstanding. No request was ever too difficult - we asked for towels to bring to the beach and it was all prepared for in our car, packaged beautifully with extra bottles of water! I was bitten by a playful puppy on my second day there and the staff all seemed to have communicated this with each other and various different staff asked if I was ok and if I required anything further. Thoughtful, nuanced touches like these make a good hotel a memorable one.

Some minor areas of improvement: we noticed both our rooms were not sound proof and we were able to hear our neighbours’ conversation in the evening. We would have loved a gym but I believe the hotel is currently building one. There is access to a community palestra which is well equipped for a 10 Euro fee but they are closed on Sundays so a note for all avid exercise aficionados that you can access dumbbells on the terrazza with yoga mats as well.

Overall, a splendid stay and we would be keen to return one day!

Great experience at the hotel. Service and staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed for a week and rented a car, which I would recommend if you stay for an extended period of time. There are only two restaurants at the hotel and although the food is excellent, the options are very limited and overpriced. Breakfast was included and excellent.
Only hotel on a long stretch of amazing beach. Had an amazing time here and would recommend it.
Only negative element was the live entertainment on two nights. Five of the seven nights the music was soft background music and perfect for the setting. The other two nights the music was extremely loud, shrieking and very disturbing until 10:00pm.

The property is spotless (built in 2014) and on a beautiful piece of land and turquoise beach, with a delicious restaurant for both lunch and dinner, but what makes it truly special is the staff, which from Rossetta, the hotel manager, to Raymondo, the head of front office and Diego & Matteo, the main F&B managers, we felt special every minute we spent there. And looking around us, the personalized and warm service was given to every customer, which is a great testament to how this property is managed. While there are a few nice hikes around and some beaches to visit, either by car or by renting a boat on property, the only interesting dining option outside is an agroturismo (a farm that makes you dinner cooking their own products), which the hotel recommended. Overall, wonderful relaxing and gourmet 5-day stay. We’ll be back soon!

We stayed here for 4 nights on our honeymoon and loved it. We booked a superior garden room. These are the group d floor room with a small patio with a bistrot table and a few sun Loungers. Even though our room was the farthest you could get from the ocean or pool and close to the parking lot entrance, it was quiet and private.
The hotel staff is phenomenal. They bend over backwards to make you comfortable. So much so that sometimes we felt a bit annoyed at being asked 3 times by 3 different peoe for everything.... Water at the beginning of dinner through coffee at the end. Better that than the opposite though.
The hotel was refurbished completely 5 years ago and it still.looms brand new with a beachy elegance about it. The patrons are sophisticated and polished, with the exception of a few souls who got lost on their way to Cancun.
The coast is magnificent- definitely rent a boat or private dinghy you can drive yourself. It was one of the most romantic days of our entire.honeumoon.
Villasimius isn't worth the drive, and after trying a few restaurants in the area, your best bet is the hotel- by far!!!!!

Idyllic place to let the world go by.

Never having been to Sardinia before our first experience was very enjoyable. The hotel was welcoming, perhaps a little remote, but once there very accommodating. I can't speak too highly of the staff who were friendly and looked after us during our stay. I did have an issue about the lack of drawers in the bedside tables but this was resolved as soon as I mentioned it. Our room was comfortable although I found it a lttle cramped and could probably benefit from different furniture. Perhaps other rooms were better equiped.
The catering was first class, dinner being particularly a joy in both preparation and presentation accompanied with excellent sardinian wines.
Sadly I wasn't impressed with the lack of a proper bar where you could have a quiet aperitif etc. I found the background music in the meeting area intrusive and rather poor on most occasions.

Perfect beach hotel for quiet relaxation

The hotel and staff are five star. We previously vacationed in the south of France but wanted a hotel in the Mediterranean that offered a more quiet scene with a private relaxing beach. Upon arriving at the airport and seeing the surrounding area, we were concerned.. but after a 45 minute drive down the coast, we arrived at La Villa Del Re and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is positioned perfectly on a lovely sandy beach with clear blue water that is perfect for swimming. The grounds and pool are lovely. The room and bathroom was spacious,light, and offered nice linens and amenities. The service and staff were some of the most friendly, professional, and helpful we have ever experienced. The breakfast buffet is amazing and tea time is lovely. The food offered at lunch and dinner was also excellent. This is the perfect place for relaxation.

Staff were superb

I thought the prices of taxis into the local town charged by the hotel were extortionate .Afternoon teas were served which were of the highest quality yet i had to pay 4 euros for coffee because i do not drink tea .On the beach there was a regular smell of rotten egg gas .

Fantastic Hotel

This hotel could not be in a better setting. Amazing views out to sea. We were lucky enough to be there on the night of clear skies and a full moon. Magical! Staff were friendly, food incredible. We had a great stay.

Thank you for a great, relaxing stay. Will definitely be back.

A real gem of a hotel. Very classy in every way.

We cannot express our admiration of this hotel enough. Probably the best hotel we have stayed in for some time. This is particularly noteworthy since it is only three years old. The quality hits you on arrival and remains until the moment you leave. The welcome, stay and departure make you feel appreciated as guests. It is aimed at couples and meets this objective with consummate ease. The staff are attentive and welcoming and set a very high standard indeed.
We found the environment, the gardens, pool and beach to be stunning and relaxing. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Everything was done to help us . The beach was safe and ideal for swimming. The Costa Rei coast was simply beautiful and undeveloped with no high rise developments. The remoteness from other centres was an added bonus. Coastal boat trips were available.
The restaurant excelled. Meals were eaten under cover or in the open air. Food was high quality and service exceptional. Breakfast choice was huge and evening meals very romantically arranged as evening fell.
Reception was friendly, very helpful and totally professional.

Newer hotel with top notch service and beach acces

It was an amazing getaway. The service was incredible, as was the beach and the pool. The rooms were very nice. If it had a gym and a spa it would even better, but regardless, it was great! The staff super friendly, helpful and accommodating. I would only recommend that u get a car, because it is sort of a standalone location and there are towns close by worth checking out and eating at. The cabs to and from the airport are also a bit pricey, so it's worth it even from that regard. It's Defin more of a couples scene, but it was my first solo trip and I still absolutely loved it!

Beautiful hotel,clean, luxury at it's best

Hotel is outstanding from the views to the breathtaking pool. The rooms are luxurious and clean. The hotel staff are very professional albeit a little too serious and not massively smiley and welcoming but very organised. The hotel is very isolated so a car is a good idea. The only real thing let down the hotel was no gym and spa treatments as you'd expect with a 5 star.

Nice hotel, close to the beach with beautiful view

I truly enjoyed my stay, the staff is very friendly and helpful giving tips of places to visit, the hotel own a few bikes the guests can borrow to cycle to the village.
Highly recommend.

A superb hotel with friendly attentive staff. An ideal location for a quiet relaxing break. Excellent sea views and a clean sandy beach with lots of staff always at hand to assist with seats and towels etc.
If they were able to add a spa to their facilities, this would be beneficial to attracting clientele

Wonderful hotel with the best service.

Hotel has a very nice feel, not that many rooms so it's never crowded in the restaurant , beach or pool area. Staff was amazing! Very polite, always there when you need them, ready to assist with any problem. Everything is high quality in this hotel: furniture, towels, bed linen , food. Rooms are cleaned twice a day and your bed is made for the night. Private beach is beautiful with comfortable sunbeds. Infinity pool area is superb! Well equipped, well organized, poll bar service is excellent.

Fantastic Hotel

This is an amazing hotel. The staff cannot do enough for you, in all parts of the hotel. It is in a perfect position facing the beach with a infinity pool over looking the sea. Food is fab & choice at buffet breakfast includes anything that you may want. Rooms are fine with good size bathroom, we had a classic room which faces front but still very quiete.

Beautiful location, beautiful food.

We loved our stay here. The staff were so attentive- even a 10 minute delay on our table meant a complimentary prosecco. Beautiful pool and delicious cocktails at the poolside bar made for a very relaxing time. Scrummy pasta too! Can't wait to go back!!

Quality hotel highly recommended

I have stayed in many 5 star hotels and this is one of the best in my view. The staff are all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. There were some nice touches that made a difference: a different gift left in our room each night with compliments that included local liqueur, chocolates, bottle of wine. On the beach the staff gave everyone free treats like fresh pineapple or iced drinks. And every day at 5pm there was free afternoon tea on the terrace with a beautiful view of the infinity pool and sea. This was an amazing holiday. Great quality fixtures and furniture. Nothing looked tired. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone.
