Wonderful stay, we had a great experience. Large spacious suite with free bottles of water, our suite has a large balcony but unfortunately due to government rules, we cannot open the door to the balcony and enjoy it. Breakfast has good selections of food, we really liked the fresh squizeed juice every morning. It has a rooftop pool but we were too busy to try it, its a large pool. Hotel is not far from touirst areas.

I recently stayed for 4 nights at this hotel and had a fantastic experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The room itself was spotless, and I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the beds. Instead of the usual twin beds, they provided two large double beds, which was a nice bonus and made for a very comfortable stay.

One feature I really appreciated was the cleaning service. The cleaner came twice a day – once in the morning to tidy up and again in the evening to empty the trash. It really made the room feel fresh and well-maintained throughout my stay.

Additionally, I had ordered a lot of items from Taobao before my arrival, and the hotel was kind enough to keep all my packages safe and secure until I arrived. This level of service went above and beyond what I expected.

Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for excellent service, comfort, and thoughtful touches.

First excellent service was their own transport from Airport. We was met by staff and took through airport with showing us where to go and what to do.
Hotel was perfect. Right near food, shops, subway, restaurants and Walmart. The hotel concierge helped with all our tours, from The Great Wall, Summer Palace and great for helping on any questions. Spoke perfect English. Breakfast had everything to offer. Rooms was cleaned twice a day. The only issue we had was to use the lovely pool you had to wear a swimming cap. Would definitely recommend this stunning hotel. The Italian restaurant was lovely as we ate there twice. Thank you JW MARRIOTT for making our stay just perfect 😍

Friday staff who handle my check-in did not do his homework on my booking requests. I had clearly may a request for an extra bed for my 13 year old child during booking.
Saturday Morning staff who handle my request for room change was most prompt and efficient.
The place shows a lack or maintenance, there was a clear odor /signs of \"smoking\" in my room on day one. this was why on Friday evening we requested an air purifier. there were 3 other facilities issues which was overlook by the facilities management. if your mgmt cared, I shall give you the details precisely for the shortcoming to be rectified - you can P.M me.

Customer service was extremely poor. I booked a grand deluxe room with 2 double beds, however I was told by the staff at the lobby that my reservation was a room with king bed sounding like I made a mistake. I showed her my confirmation and she still insist her system shows king bed. She said it could have been Expedia's fault for the miscommunication and told me to call Expedia to sort out the issue myself when it isn't my mistake. Who on earth makes mistakes and ask the victim to fix the problem? This is already getting unprofessional. After I asked for the room that I booked again, she told me she would add a single bed for me and not to worry because its the same price. If I'm worried about price, I would be booking a cheaper budget hotel. Their service standard is definitely indicative of the budget hotel.Totally not getting a bigger picture, am I suppose to ask my mum to sleep on the smaller bed while I share the king bed with my fiancé? Tell me how is it possible to accept such disgraceful service for a hotel like JW Marriott?

Has a great 3 night stay here. Well situated for getting around the city and spectacular city views from the 4th floor buffet restaurant which had a huge variety of foods on offer. The hotel's Italian restaurant was good and well priced and the traditional Chinese restaurant gave exquisite food and exemplary service! Large, well equipped rooms with comfortable beds. Our only small niggles were we had booked a room for 3 adults but only two towels, gowns etc were provided and prices in the lounge bar were very expensive!
Overall we highly recommend this hotel.

We upgraded to a suite but it reeked of cigarette smoke, so we were downgraded to a different level of suite. It was dingy, musty, and a bit dated. The room was large, the bed comfortable, and the toiletries were very large and smelled good. The breakfast was expensive but very good. Excellent selection and tasty. Location was Ok. Adjacent to a run down mall.

This property physically is 5 star. The staff wants to be 5 star as well and tries to do everything perfectly. However, it felt like the hotel was one week old--like a shakedown cruise. Staff helpful, but clueless as what to do many times. This may be due to few of them speak any English. The front desk is the exception. An example was I was trying to order a beer at the bar in the lounge and it took three people to understand. Also, there was no explanation of what facilities the hotel has i.e. restaurants. No literature in the room. It took me 5 days to realize there was an Italian style restaurant on the ground floor. (there are two on the 4rth floor) I recommend that one signs up the executive lounge because it is worth the price especially if you have breakfast every day. (breakfast is free with membership) I did not know about this option until the last 24hrs of the stay. My belief is that management is very strong handed but very short on training people who really want to do a great job. They just need to be taught.

My parents come to visit me in Beijing and choose to live here for 5 nights. The hotel is no doubt maintaining JW Marriot standards. Very luxury and comfortable style. The swimming pool is 25m*9m, and the gym area is like heaven. The only few downsides I would love to point out are that, 1. No night service, as we did not particularly address to the front desk it may be neglected though. 2. Very limited choice of drinks at breakfast buffet, only orange and watermelon. 3. No cotton pad, cotton stick or tooth pick in the room. 4. No welcome kit for members if by asking.

We were incredibly pleased with this entire property. If particular, the food and beverage folks were both earnest and top notch! The GM was omnipresent and made us all feel incredibly welcome and valued. In particular, he inquired about our trip and discovered that it was my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. He found out which Starwood properties we would be visiting on the trip and called ahead to those places to make sure that our other arrivals would be also be incredibly special.

Food costs in Chinese restaurant in hotel were extremely high by China standards, according to my host, as well as the Italian restaurant. Simply there were two issues for me (everything else was to be expected)
1. The dirty rim around the base of the shower area. Really quite disgusting.
2. Temperature of the room could not be adjusted below 21 degrees Celsius, even after getting a staff member to look at it. Which made my nights too hot and uncomfortable

The hotel is average for a Marriott in terms of comfort and design. But it is conveniently located, close to the South Railway Station, and on the subway #4 line, which is the reason I chose it. I like the food in the business lounge, which is fresh and tasty. There are also lots of restaurants in the nearby mall.

A Western standard hotel. Large rooms. Fully equipped with mini bar, coffee machine, iron and board, two bottles of water per day per room (don't drink tap water in China), wifi (with typical China content block). Nice gym. Bar offers a wide selection of food and drinks. In-house seafood restaurant. Nice breakfast with a mix of local and Western dishes. 40-90 minutes from airport depending on traffic. Half hour by foot from \"forbidden city\" and Tiananmen sq. Staff speaks decent English but you may want to have the addresses of where you want to go written in Chinese.

Great stay for a short trip to the Great Wall

Had a quick trip with Papa and Grammie to the Great wall while they were here visiting. The close location to Tiananmen square and Forbidden Palace make it ideal. For a great view of the Forbidden Palace go to the park on the North side of the palace. You can go in for a small charge and climb to the top of a large hill and see the entire palace from there.

Comfortable rooms, but not great for events

While my room was very clean and comfortable, I was unimpressed with the service at this location. We tried to order a drink at the hotel bar one night, only to be told three times that the wines we had selected were unavailable, and then to have half our order forgotten for another 10-15 minutes. Menus for business meetings lacked any choices, which was problematic, as we had vegetarian guests. When visiting the cafe on the 4th floor during a slow hour, we were told that the kitchen would take \"a long time\" to prepare our order, but not given any additional information past that. When we did receive our food, it was good quality.

When trying to ship a package back to the US, the concierge told me I would have to arrange the shipment myself with American FedEx. I ended up throwing away a large amount of printed materials, as I was on a very limited time budget. The concierge also ended up calling a local taxi, rather than a car service, for an event I needed to attend. I don't speak Putonghua, so it was very difficult to communicate with the driver.

If one or two of these issues had occurred, it wouldn't be a big deal, but in the aggregate they definitely added up. If I book other events in Beijing in the future, I will likely look for a different venue. It seems as though nearly all of the staff at this location is new and inexperienced. Perhaps it was a fluke, and there's been a recent change in hotel management?

We were in Beijing on vacation. We thought that it would be convenient to get the breakfast and dinner packet. Dinner on the package was restricted to dining on the 15th floor. While the food was excellent, we often missed dinner because when we got back from our daily tours the dining room on the 15th floor was closed (at 7:30) so we had to pay for dinner at the 4th floor restaurant. That turned out to be quite expensive since we ended up paying for dinner twice. My advise would be to get the breakfast packet only.

Close to Tiananmen Square, and the Forbidden City

Was in China for a week, spent the first two nights in Beijing prior to leaving to Chongquig on business. Chose the JW Marriott because of the location. Short cab ride to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The JW Marriott Central exceeded my expectations for cleanliness, staff training, and modern decor of the room. The electrical outlets in the room even accommodated US electrical outlets. On the way back from Chongquig, stayed at the JW Marriott again and upgraded to an executive suite. The executive suite was an amazing room is the way to go and includes access to the executive lounge, which will more than offset the increase rate. BTW - because of the strength of the US dollar compared to the Chinese RMB, hotels are inexpensive in China compared to the US. The food in the executive lounge is outstanding. The only disadvantage of this hotel is that it is about 45 minutes or more from the airport. But if you're there to see the sights, you probably want to be more centrally located anyway.

My wife and I spent her birthday at the JW Marriott during a trip to China. The manager sent cake and wine to our room when he found out (!) - an unexpected touch that made us feel very pampered. The room was gorgeous and huge, and we had views of the Forbidden City lit up at night.

Only one thing to bear in mind if you stay here: there are two JW Marriotts in Beijing!! This one is close to the Forbidden City and the Beijing Nan (Beijing South) train station.
