Great view of the lake, villa is spacious and very comfortable. Staff is friend and they are willing to try their best to satisfy the customers. e.g. my friend and I wanted fries as a snack as we were not hungry but it wasn't on the menu. the staff in-charge went to check with the kitchen chef and we got our fries. Great customer service.

Suggest to enjoy the sunset view during happy hours and take a boat tour organised bythe hotel as it is convenient and affordable.

Beautiful property. The rooms are tastefully decorated. They have a cultural show on Friday nights and we enjoyed that. Breakfast had good varieties, but their buffet dinner was just ok. The hotel is a little far from the main town but still a good location with easy access to the lake.

They do well considering the location and difficulty of some supplies and the remoteness. Staff try hard but communication was difficult most of the time. Water pressure very low meant the flush didn’t always work. Hope we’re very good when we had a sick child though and arranged for a doctor. Lovely lake side bar/restaurant.

Service at this hotel was absolutely world-class. The staff were extremely helpful when it came to day trips and travelling to and from the nearby town. When arranging travel to town or on day trips there is a kiosk across the road which I would suggest that you use. Using the concierge in the hotel, you get charged tourist fees. The hotel was in a wonderful spot on the lake. I arrived by boat which was a lovely way to go. By road is possible also. I received an upgrade to a bungalow, which was amazing and almost the size of my house!. The grounds were beautiful and the infinity pool was awesome, offering amazing views of both the lake and the mountains. The staff were fantastic and made me feel right at home and were very helpful. Food was also great. No complaints what so ever...

Located on the Inle Lake, they had individual villas on stilts. We somehow got an upgrade into one of these villas which was amazing frankly. It also has a private jetty for boat tours without having to to into Nyaung Shwe town (though probably costs more than one in town). One of the first times I have eaten dinner at a hotel and was pleasantly surprised with the locality of the food and execution too.

The only downside was that in our newly upgraded villa, the fire alarm ran low on battery at 0300am so beeped very loudly. Had to call housekeeping but they were quick and efficient with dealing.

Lovely hotel....overpriced on food etc.

Amazingly beautiful hotel and surroundings but the mark up on price for food and trips compared the rest of the country was pretty bad. Almost twice the price for tours and more than 3x as much for food and drink. They do this because the hotel is so far from the main town they know people would have to pay quite a but for a taxi anyway.

Novotel is at least 25min away from the town by car. One of the restaurants on property was closed, the decking at the pool was peeling and chipped, clearly showing wear. The rooms were beautiful and well-designed. We tried to bicycle but there were very few that could be checked out and their condition was questionable at best. The road leading to town is DANGEROUS. We have small children and biking with them was very scary. I would not recommend biking, even for adults. We were only here for 2 nights, and we saw a lot that the area had to offer. We hired our own boat from the village down the street from the hotel, and saved 50%.

You will not regret staying here. The hotel is on the lake and much nicer than the surrounding hotels of equal or greater cost. The view is absolutely beautiful and a great location in Inle. We had such a fantastic experience at Novotel. The service was exceptional. The staff were extremely helpful and responsive. The rooms were new and beautiful with good attention to detail. The morning breakfast was delicious with a lot of variety. You will not regret staying here. We will be staying at more Novotel properties in the future.

The place was nice, right for the price.
However only partial toiletries were provided.
- No body lotion, comba, detal sets provided. When asked at the reception, those items will be provided upon request.
No shower room near the pool.
Parking is not sheltered. We had to park out motorbike outside overnight, rain, hail or sunshine.

The walk ways need to be litted better.

Apart from these, it was a pleasant stay. Helpful and kind staff.

There were many small problems at this hotel. They moved me due to a water pipe breaking. There was a lack of communication about this within the staff because I was told that it was fixed quickly (2.5 hours). So they didn’t really have to move me because I was happy to wait a few hours for the problem to be fixed. The 1/2 boat tour was mostly shopping at workshops in the stilted village. The wooden monastery is beautiful though. I was told at reception that the boat would stop at the 5 day rotating market but that wasn’t true. Room service didn’t come when I called to have the dishes removed. The room was not very clean because geckos poo all over the place. There was some on a chair and some on the bed pillow when I arrived in the 2nd room. Under the sink I saw a big toe nail and some plastic from a water bottle top. The spa had a any 3 treatments package, but 1 thing was not available and another treatment was not possible. There were renovations at the spa and gym but I was not informed at booking or at check in. The spa was in another location temporarily. The rooms are difficult to find. The signs are confusing. The English of the staff is low and I think this was the cause of some problems. There were just too many problems for a luxury hotel. I would not recommend it.

Accessible both via road and lake.

Within walking distance to convenience shops, a sandwich/burger cafe and quaint looking Star Light Restaurant selling traditional food.
If possible, choose lake view villa for better view and privacy. Super comfy bed and clean wooden floor that you can walk barefoot. I didn’t see house lizards but I know they were there because of the noise they made. It can be irritating especially at night when you are trying to sleep. Such comfortable villa that you don’t feel like going out!
Staff are generally friendly, helpful and speak English. We were greeted at jetty after a hot day out with cold towels and refreshing watermelon juice. However, when we returned on a rainy day the next day, only one staff was a jetty without umbrellas. A buggy was sent to fetch us to villa but the seats were wet.
Breakfast spread was decent, quality was average. I like its Green Juice (cucumber, mint, celery, melon etc).

Ideal place for exploring Lake Inle – Venice of Asia: five-seater boat was only $41.00 USD for whole day trip – exceptional value! I've been an Accor member for quite some time. When we arrived, they put us in a room at the very end of the hotel with a view on the wall, while the hotel was almost empty. Eventuelly, the manager moved us to a lake side bungalow (after asking the reception several times), which was great. However, if your hotel is almost empty, you can at least give your guests a proper room.
The room we had was very big and luxurious, so definitely no complaints about that. As it is a Novotel, you really get the Novotel quality beds and services. We had a great view on the lake.
The hotel is located next to the lake and there's almost nothing around (only other resorts), so for lunch and dinner it is hard to find something outside. There's an overpriced restaurant in the hotel.
The pool area is very nice and relaxing. Breakfast is very good too.
Overall we had a great stay and I would recommend this accommodation.

Out of the way but was exactly what we needed

First, you should know that the resorts in this area are almost 1 1/2 hours away from the resort. Save yourself time an hassle and have the hotel pick you up. It cost more but is a much better experience.

To leave the resort for activities, you board a boat from their dock. They can arrange a tour for $30 or transit to the nearest rotating market for $12 which is reasonable.

The resort itself is stunning. We barely wanted to leave. Of course, food is much pricier than local restaurants but not outrageous ($10-$12 for an entree) but breakfast is free and they have daily happy hour.

Overall, a great experience.

Everything was fantastic! They upgraded me to a villa and I was in heaven for 3 nights. The bed was unbelievable and the huge bathroom was bigger than my last hotel room. Very quiet and relaxing. Lovely pool and fitness facilities. Excellent service and the the breakfast buffet was on point. The only down side would be that you are far from town and taxis are expensive around Inle Lake. And activities are at resort prices as compared to booking a trip on the lake in town. There is a small shop just down the street for snacks and beverages to save money. Loved my stay!

My stay at Inle Lake Novotel was exceptional. We stayed for 2 nights and we got upgraded to lake view villa, which was a superb room. The staffs are very helpful and friendly, including those at the restaurant. The only downfall was no convenient store or room service after 9pm. The rest are just perfect. I highly recommend this Novotel who plan to stay at Inle Lake.

Good for Myanmar standards however for a three year old hotel you can already see disappointing signs that upkeep is an issue. Rusty handrails, split raw timber where it should be sealed and concrete paths/tiles broken. A quick slap of concrete while we were there was cracked even before our stay was over. So sad. On the positive side, rooms were excellent, beds and pillows amazing and turn down service a nice touch. Opulent bathroom with well thought out design. Friendly staff.

Hotel is lovely. Feel so comfortable & relax. Staff are friendly & helpful. It's quite a distance from lobby to the villa but no worries as buggy rides are available & they come pretty quick too. Room is nice & lovely with big bathtub, 2 tvs, 2 airconds. They also provide mosquito repellent in the room. However, the coffee machine is not working & they only gave me 1 set of dental kit (2 person is the room). It is quite far from the town but you may take the taxi or boat.

Lovely beach resort in Myanmar. Room is spacious with a great lay out that makes you feel like you're staying in an apartment.

The beach area is actually quite small but adequate. Nice pool and views.

Limited places to eat at the hotel so if you're a foodie you may need to look at options outside of the hotel.

The English speaking level of many of the staff memebers is poor / but they try hard to understand.

Great Resort Hotel

The hotel has a manager who speaks fluent English to receive us with welcome drinks. We stayed at Room 1302 which is one of the highest rooms with no blockage of the lake view by others. The room is a spacious suite. Bathtub is next to a (almost) full height window that you can see the lake view while relaxing in the bath. We can also see the sunset at the balcony. The Sunset bar is another good location to have drinks with friends during sunset. Staff are very friendly. We stayed here for 3 nights. We booked with the hotel a lake tour for the 2nd day, a day trip to Taunggyi for the 3rd day and a van sending us to the airport for the 4th day. The lake tour descriptions mentioned Burmese cats but we did not see any and had difficulty communicating with the boat driver who speaks very little English (the scenery is very beautiful but with the disappointment of missing the cats). The driver on the 3rd day (to Taunggyi) also speaks little English but tried very hard to tell us about the attractions. The 4th day was panicking as the hotel forgot to arrange the van for us to the airport! They eventually managed to arrange one and luckily we did not miss the flight. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Super modern hotel at the Inle lake

The hotel is brand new. The suits are awesome but you need time to switch off and on all lights, they don't have a master switch. The water pressure isn't strong enough to fill the tube. The food is ok, but not overwhelming. The staff is kind but don't speak english. It's really hard to communicate with them, especially if you have a special request (booking a tour was a little bit complicated). The Spa is absolutely wonderful.

A really nice hotel

The room was just beyond my expectation. It was so nice. Hotel offered free bike for rental. It took around an hour to ride to Red Mountain Vineyard. Riding there was just so good. The hotel is by the lake. They got their own jetty. Could get on boat very conveniently. The view from swimming pool and jetty was just stunning. Food from their restaurant were delicious. And the environment of their SPA was perfect as well.

This hotel is absolutely stunning and the rooms were spectacular. As expected, things in the hotel are a little expensive e.g. $7 for a beer, but the happy hour allows you to take advantage of cheaper drinks and runs for a few hours. We did have one hiccup with having to get a rollaway bed and being charged 60AUD a night for it. We complained and eventually the manager waved the fee.

Beautiful villas but so quiet, barely any guests. Food, drinks & activities overpriced. Boat trip was quite disappointing, seems they spend most of the time bringing you to shops.
I think unless you take the villas with private pool you are not going to have a good lake view from your room.

This is a beautiful, modern hotel with great views of the lake. We upgraded to a bungalow, which was ridiculously pretty and large. The free standing tub was out of control. The restaurant was pretty good, though not amazing. My only complaint at all about the property is that it's somewhat far from the town and restaurants down the main road, which isn't a great road. However, it's so pretty and the pool is great, so you may choose not to leave. They'll also set up boat tours and other activities around the area for a very reasonable price.

Perfect stay in Inle lake

Novotel Inle Lake was really amazing! We were upgraded to the water villa's and the rooms were even more beautiful than the very high end water villa's of the Maldives where we stayed during our honeymoon. The hotel is just 6 months old. Staff was professional, and even helped me solving a problem with the Myanmar bank. The tours offered by the hotel are value for money, they have their own jetty, so it's convenient to start your boat trips from the hotel. Spa was beautiful and relaxing. The food is a bit average to be honest, but other than that it was pretty much perfect for a relaxed stay in inle lake.

I stayed at Novotel over a weekend as a break from a work trip in Myanmar. What a stunning hotel. The rooms were immaculate and the service extraordinary. Take use of the bike rental and cycle into town.

New hotel, needs time to mature

We were generally happy with our stay. However, we have a couple of suggestions. At the Sunset bar the menu contained several light meals which we would have liked for lunch, but this restaurant was not open until 4.00pm. Perhaps these could be offered in the main restaurant at lunch time.
On our last day, there was no English Breakfast tea available in the restaurant. This is clearly the most popular type of tea, and the staff should realise that the fancy teas are not an acceptable alternative. Fortunately, I always carry a few spare teabags with me, so was able to provide one for them to use.

Great hotel but in need of a few tweaks

We stayed in a junior suite. The hotel is lovely. Loved the rain shower and the bathroom. The sunset bar was very pleasant. Could have been improved with the addition of mosquito coils. The food in the restaurant was not so good. Breakfast was brilliant but evening meals not great. The addition of local food/curries etc would have been better rather than western food that was not well executed.

Such a gorgeous place. If you like resort atmosphere, this place is for you. The reason I gave the staff 4 stars is because a lot of the time their answers to questions were incorrect. I needed a bottle of water and asked if there was a store on the street and they said no. Had to buy from hotel. Found out next morning store was a 3 minute walk. Also asked if hotel next door had a restaurant and was told no. Hotel had 3 restaurants. I believe they might be told to try to keep guest on their property. $7 for a beer that cost $2. $2 for a water that cost $.30 at store. Quoted $80 for all day boat ride and paid $20 thru travel agent. Quoted $50 for a boat to Nangshwe and I paid $10 at the dock 10 minutes down the road. I LOVE fancy hotels and other Novotel hotels. This one needs a small tweeking. And YES I would stay here again. Villas are amazing.
