The first-floor standard double room we were booked into had clearly been very recently refurbished (the smell of paint was still evident). The room was reasonably comfortable and the king size bed was very comfortable. However, we had a sleepless first night.

The main problem was a loud and constant humming/low rumble noise, much like a motor/generator running, coming from the bathroom - we suspected it was the extractor fan, ventilation or heating (we had turned the bathroom light off and shut the door, as I know sometimes the extractor fan is linked to either of these). It was like white noise torture! Also, and this can happen at many hotels, the walls must be paper thin as we could hear every slight noise from the next room.

When we spoke to the reception staff the following morning, they said that if maintenance couldn't fix the noise from the bathroom, they would find us a different room. Later that day, they kindly offered us a choice of two larger upgraded rooms away from the source of the noise. The room we opted for was very comfortable indeed and we both had a far better nights sleep.

We had supper at the Hole In One Bar, which was reasonable. A big shout out to the young bar tender who was working on his own and coped brilliantly in trying circumstances, that weren't of his making.

We probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again though.

Links Hotel, West Runton.

I have been a regular customer at the Links over the last 3 years or so and have always loved staying here, great service, lovely polite staff and good accomodation, however i can't help noticing lately something has changed, all new faces for staff, a different feel to the hotel for some reason and it just doesen't feel the same lately, please don't lose what you had as it is a fabulous place to stay when in Norfolk.

Don’t bother!
We booked a double garden room & on arrival we found that room to be facing a wall. All the other garden rooms had patio doors facing into the garden. Room 243 is also next to a room that was incredibly noisy (laundry room and across from the room air con / fans whirred) that you could hear through the wall. When I asked if we could be moved I was told that was the only double room so we would incur an upgrade charge. The manager then showed us another room (248) we stressed that the room was mis sold/ advertised as a garden room as you cannot see the garden from the room. Incidentally the image on the Expedia website of the room is not the double room we were offered.

We decided to stay in the room but no one informed us whether we were to pay the £30 upgrade which was more that the difference on Expedia.

On inspection the room had not had a visit from house keeping to clean the room for a while. I have images of unacceptable dust, a moth next to the patio door, mark on the bed throw, black water mould on the bottom of the shower cubicle. Towels are so thin, grey, frayed and small they should be in the bin. Weeds outside. Fortunately the bed was clean.

On checkout the receptionist asked if we had enjoyed our stay and took some notes. A couple in front were complaining too saying the superior price is not comparable to the named superior room they had, tatty, towels, dated etc…
Book with caution.
Very very disappointed!

Firstly the downsides - our room was next to maintenance room so all night it sounded like a lift going up and down, not much sleep☹️. My expensive body lotion was tried out by room keeping! You could smell it 😡.
The good bits - reception, bar and restaurant staff were brilliant and all very polite 😊. The dinner we had was excellent, could have eaten it over and over again 😊

Golf course on site. Gym was adequate. Didn't use swimming pool but it was there. I did have a request for housekeeping but message wasn't passed on. I had medication on the table and didn't want the sun on them and requested housekeeping to keep my curtains closed. My request was ignored. I was also asked to keep an eye out for an ambulance by staff with no care as to what I was doing or if I had time to wait.

Check in was fine, receptionist lovely, however, first impression room looked great. On closer inspection where do I start. The room was very hot, yes there was a fan provided in the room, it was absolutely filthy with dust. Next the rim of the plug in the bathroom sink was disgusting. Two of the pillowcases had dirty marks on them, i can not prove it but i am 99% sure one of the beds had not been changed from previous customer. Thick dust all around each bed on the floor. I think house keeping should spend more time on these rooms. We paid £250 for room only, weve stayed in accommodation alot cheaper to higher standards,VERY DISAPPOINTED.

This hotel is a little muddled in terms of layout and could be improved by a site plan of where the stairways are, different entrances etc. the staff were excellent, each one was polite, smiled and calm. They were helpful with areas around the hotel.
The room was comfortable and spacious, with just one issue which was that the window overlooks a large flat roof, and the window opening was not restricted so could facilitate entry from the flat roof. Otherwise, the bed was soft and apart from guests moving about in the room above, was mostly quiet.

No wifi in the room we had 246. its in the corner. they must know about it from others. Always a que at the reception desk dealing with gym and golf club members. Surely their booking in need not take as long as it is? The service in the restaraunt was poor and very slow on top of which they tried to charge a 10% service charge on your bill.

We stayed in the garden rooms which are relatively new. Everything was good and convenient. We didn't use the hotel facilities or restaurant, as we were on the beaches all day.
It's an amazing location which is why we chose it really, and the hotel is comfortable. Dog friendly.

Very good hotel. Classed as a 3star…has potential for 4-star based on location and the property type.
Our room looked fresh, may be recently renovated with fresh paint and new carpets. Large room with decent space. Bed and pillows were a little tough and there was lack of bathroom amenities and towels were super thin. Other that very good.

Stayed at the outside area, room was not as described when paid. Not at all value for money. Heating broke down,given a heater the lead was not long so unable to get heat around room.
Bathroom absolutely soaked after shower meaning the towels provided were used to stop children slipping.
On a positive the sports bar and hotel bar area fine. Staff nice.

Cheap stay due to view from room I assume. But room was comfortable but compact. Pool was cool but relaxing. Whilst reception staff were excellent bar/waiting staff were not. Wasn’t asked if I wanted a drink all evening. Starter and main turned up at same time and 2 seconds after placing a drinks order I asked to change it but it was refused. Had a great nights sleep but catering staffs put me off returning.

Because we booked on experia it didn't give an option for disabled room and breakfast included so we ended up paying extra for the disabled room and breakfast also the lady who checked us in was polite but made the assumption by lloking at us that we were capable of getting upstairs which was not the fact although we look well we also have ailments that require a lot of help

I thought i had booked a family room on expedia but turned out to be just a small double. View from the room was a roof and another bedroom window that looked straight into our room so had to keep the curtains draw when changing. Our room was right above the disco so couldn't sleep due to noise.

The hotel stands in a lovely location with easy parking and a stones throw from the unmanned railway station. Our room was clean overall and a reasonable size with a massive shower that was amazing....except for the mouldy bath mat to stand on! Also the towels were well worn and grey. Our pillows werd hard and the duvet although clean had passed its sell buy date.
We ate in the restaurant both evenings although we found it expensive for what size portions you were given, however the breakfast was generous. All the staff were courteous and polite particularly Wendy who always had a smile on her face. Overall our stay was ok but their linen and bedding seriously needs replacing.

It was our 10th wedding anniversary and we had been assigned a garden room. Unfortunately the bed wasn’t great (thin flimsy mattress, which would not have been good for my medical condition) so we contacted reception. Wendy reassigned us a lovely room on the second floor with an extremely comfortable super king with good views and made for a good nights sleep. That evening we had cocktails in the bar which were really good and dangerous as we wanted more! A full English breakfast followed the next day with a good choice of cereals to start with. This is the second time we have stayed there and we will be staying again. A good hotel not far from Cromer and the Broads. All the staff were very friendly and looked after us.

A lovely 4 night stay. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and clean,overlooking the golf course and in the distance, the sea.
The beach, a few minutes walk away was beautiful.
The cleanliness throughout the hotel was excellent and all staff were very friendly.
The pool facilities were very good.
The lounge area was welcoming and comfortable for a relaxing drink.
We used both the train and bus link which ran very well.

We will definitely return .

Lots of little niggles ruining a holiday.

Dirty glasses with old red wine spots on table at dinner, ordered a cappuccino and the bar staff completely forgot the order (the bar was not busy), fire alarm went off at 7 am, the maid did not replenish the milk so no room coffee, the quality of the food at dinner did not match its price, to get to the pool you have to fill out a health questionnaire, sign in wait ages for towels and getting a locker key then you have to phone reception to actually get into the pool area. Lots of little niggles ruining a holiday.

I was upgraded on arrival, to a beautiful room with a lovely view of the golf course.

A very comfy bed, the only downside was you can hear everything going past the room, but I zoned it out. A fabulous shower - the type you don’t want to get out of.
