Be sure you know exactly where hotel is located.

When searching, I was under the assumption this hotel was in Salisbury. Turns out it was in a small community that was accessible by vehicle (taxi in our case) only… Very disappointing. Because I was asked to prepay and there is no refund, I forfeited 2 days hotel stay. I communicated my issues with Grosvenor Arms twice (voice mail and email), however never received a response from them. We ended up finding a place in downtown Salisbury.

Delightful pub with excellent accommodation. Cosy or elegant indoor dining areas and extensive outside seating area. Imaginative and tasty menu. Rooms very nicely appointed with lovely additional touches (fresh milk in a flask; home baked cookies; tea and coffee with cafetiere). Hindon is a picturesque village with charming cottages and discernable outlines of the many coaching inns once there (of which the Grosvenor Arms is one). Plenty to do in the surrounding countryside. Very highly recommended for a short break holiday.

This was one of the best experiences I’ve had in all of England staying at this charming inn. The food was outstanding as well as the service and staff. I would highly recommend this to anyone, especially if you want to visit several of the southern Pride and Prejudice movie sites such as Stourhead or Wilson House. Stonehenge is also close by! Great location!

A Wonderful Stay in a Beautiful Coaching Inn

The welcome at the Grosvenor Arms was great and the homemade cookies on arrival were a lovely touch.
The room was a good size, clean, in a lovely condition and quietly facing away from the road.
The bathroom was clean and easy to use.
The bar was lively in the evening for a friendly pint or two.
The breakfast was delicious, in a good quantity and with quality, local ingredients.

Staff were friendly as was the manager and you get a complimentary cookie from the kitchen on arrival in your room. Very cosy comfortable and spacious rooms in a loverly area. Friendly staff, proper country pub vibes but lovely and quiet room that was clean and comfy. Parking was a little confusing as the car park is very small, but road parking is available all around. Shower was a bit low on pressure but a personal preference. Would strongly recommend to anyone visiting the area or heading further south/west as a stop over!

Good service, loud music in restaurant, ok room

Welcome was friendly, gentleman who checked us in offered to help with bags, offered fresh milk and cookies made by
the chef. Waitress was polite and helped with my wife's request to turn down the music in the restaurant room as she is deaf and couldn't hear me talk. Menu was not thrilling. The room was ok, it was dark, the kettle was dirty. We were in room 9 which was in the courtyard next to the pizza station which i would imagine would be noisy on a friday night when the pizza event is on.

Room 9 was lovely. Lots of space and well done out. Free fresh cookies on arrival was nice thought. Breakfast was nice but bacon was very hard and sausages barely warm. Toast rock hard.

Lovely pub, great room, excellent service.
Good food, albeit a little pricey. The only negative is that the doorway into the bathroom in room 1 is VERY low, resulting in a nasty bump on the head.
Would be an idea to either put some foam here or, at least, a highlight to warn people!!!!

Ideal stop over in lovely village

A very nice welcoming pub/restaurant with rooms. Ideal in winter when windows are closed, as it is next to quite a busy local road. Huge open fireplace, nice staff, excellent breakfast, roast dinner. Setting is lovely, with easy parking and church bells nearby.

Restless night!

Convenient location but very thin walls in room 7 - so heard every sound & creek from the next door room guests including snoring and young child early morning. Shower very weak and temperature went up and down so very hard to enjoy a consistent comfortable shower!

An oasis in the middle of nowhere

Booked here at the last minute, after previous arrangements had been cancelled.
Never heard of Hinton but was pleasantly surprised. It resembled a typical English village.
The Grosvenor Arms was a delightful old pub/restaurant with accommodation.

First impressions were great but felt let down.

Lovely warm welcome and delicious evening meal however my stay was overshadowed by the fact my room (9) had no hot water. Despite the best efforts of the staff to fix this issue I had no hot water for the duration of my stay. I’d had a long day at work and needed to leave early the next day and I was able to have a shower or Bath. This is not what I’d expect from a room costing over £100 per night. I was offered a free orange juice and lemonade for my trouble which didn’t really cut it to be fair.
Also, the WiFi in my room was terrible and kept disconnecting.

Nice room and good breakfast. Main problem was the internet which had such a weak signal in the bedroom it rendered it too unreliable to use. Fir this reason I would definitely not stay here again. It is a problem that they have obviously chosen to not deal with which is easily remedied.

Friendly, helpful staff making sure our stay was Covid-safe and enjoyable. Nice breakfast. Our only problem was that it wasn't the quietest of stays - the windows let a lot of noise in from the road and the family above us were very noisy late into the night.

This hotel was a last minute choice after the original one stayed closed. we booked a family room but that’s the only thing that is family oriented about the place.
They do not have a children’s menu not even an offer to make smaller portion.
The food was great but there is no chance I’m paying £10.50 for the cheapest pizza for a 4 year old.
This meant we are else where for our second night. If you ask me there loosing out on trade.
The room was ok but not the family one in the pictures.
Was woken up at 1am with the staff having a moan whilst closing down and having a cigarette outside our window.
Breakfast was good but could do with 2 staff working and not 1.
