Lovely hotel on the waters edge in Brindisi. We had a beautiful room which was quite large. The breakfast had plenty of variety.Check out the area around the hotel; very historic. We enjoyed visiting the city and highly recommend this establishment.

There is not enough room to say how horrible the hotel is. The indifferent desk clerks. Soiled carpets and moldy smelling rooms. The other complaints people have written, believe them. Clearly was once a lovely place, not now. Broken down and in disrepair.

The hotel is located In the front of the Main Street, near all the restaurants and evening activities. Parking in garage is limited. You need to reserve the space ahead of time. We didn’t know about it. We came late and had to park on the street, and we had to find the available spot. So, we just parked near the entrance to the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable.

Beautiful hotel, traditional Italian style. We had a junior suite which was huge! Only slight complaint was the air con is quite noisy and the bed was too hard for me but I like a soft bed and this is personal preference so others may find the bed fine.

I loved the convenience with waterfront view but alas this grande old place is a bit worn these days. Our room had leaking aircon that totally soaked the carpet. Their solution was to turn of aircon to our room and open windows which made it very noisy and didn't get any sleep which was a shame.

Last night in Brindisi, so chose this hotel which was in an amazing location with a great view. The hotel is clean, chic and absolutely lovely. The only negative thing about my stay was the softness of the pillows, as a big boy my head was not supported well enough and woke with a stiff neck... but I'm happy. The staff was amazing and the breakfast was decent. Thank you.

This hotel is a 3 star, not 4 star. Our room initially had no hot water, only luke warm. Hallway floor carpets are dirty and if you have a car you have some difficulty finding a place to park at night. Breakfast buffet was average, but staff was very friendly.

To provide background, I stayed 1 night as I had a flight into Brindisi airport which landed at 19.30 and was heading north the next day, therefore I booked an inexpensive room for the night. I wasn't expecting luxury but the standard of hotel / room was low. The hotel has a prime position and the view from outside is wonderful. Inside, it's all faded glory and in need of modernisation. The room was very small, not comfortable and hot. Opening a window onto roof and next room's open window was unsatisfactory. Check in took a very long time, 1 receptionist and no apology for length of wait. Breakfast enjoyable but overall, cannot rate this any higher. I do not recommend.

Hotel has THE prime position on the harbour front. It is typical old style Italian, however parts are now looking a bit "tired" and whole building inside & out is in need of some TLC & refurbishment without losing its essential style & character. Place is very clean & staff are helpful. Breakfast has a vast array of cold buffet for continental b'fast lovers but hot food limited to scrambled egg + 1 other item. Additional charges for omelette & extra cups of coffee and other items is not accceptable in 2024! Building and its environs oozes history but badly in need of some updating. Was it good value for (euros)150+ / night? Probably doubtful. But Brindisi not exactly swamped with alternative hotel accommodation.....

The taxi driver taking us from the airport said to us “your hotel is in the best location, but it’s not the best hotel. A lovely building but it’s not cared for”. This is a very good summary!
The decor is shabby in the common areas. There is a down at heel bar which no-one goes in.
The bedroom we had was clean but really poor quality. A view only of some air conditioning units and piles of something that looked unpleasant. A worn out headboard on the bed. Aircon didn’t work, and if you opened the window to let air in, it was too noisy from the aircon other rooms were enjoying what irony!). The safe was lockable, but it wasn’t attached to anything, so could just be picked up. The shower was poor.
Out of 3 mornings, breakfast was poor, then ok, then good. This coincided with how busy it was, as the buffet was not re-stocked if things ran out.
The serving staff and room cleaners were lovely, but the reception staff were brusque and never even asked us if we enjoyed our stay, and the reception desk was often unmanned.
This hotel could be absolutely wonderful, I believe it has been previously, but the current owners seem to have let it run down and spent as little as possible on it.

The strength of any hotel is the staff , all were exceptional ! Front desk to the maid ! Friendly , knowledgable, multi lingu Manc masters of multi tasking enjoyed a very comfortable stay after a long and stressful journey . This is a gracious hotel built in the late 1800s. It is being kept neat, clean but perhaps not as totally polished as it once was. It is begging for the beautiful bar area to be re-opened; what an opportunity for style an comfort. The lack of a dinner restaurant (there are hundreds nearby) is partially made up for the nicest, most gracious, complete breakfast we had in Italy -- and the enjoyment of this was augmented considerably by the kind gentleman who provided coffee to your liking. The breakfast was worth the cost of the room which was vast and looked directly over the harbor.

The hotel has olde world charm.
The rooms were very large with high ceilings, beautiful casement windows and big bathrooms.
The staff was very warm and professional. They also helped me get a taxi at 4:30 am to get to an early flight at Brindisi Airport.
The area is so beautiful and quiet with many good restaurants just steps away. I wish I had been able to stay longer but I enjoyed my day there very much and I’ll definitely be back!

Great location and should be a great old world hotel. Our experience was a very disappointing one as the non-functioning air conditioner was dripping from the ceiling causing both wetness and bad odor. Apparently this continuous dripping and non-functioning couldn’t be fixed and apparently there were no other rooms available so a couple of brutally hot August nights made our brief stay in Brindisi very memorable for all the wrong reasons

I purposely booked Grande Albergo in Brindisi for its air-conditioning because Puglia had been extraordinarily hot.When we arrived, the air conditioning supposedly was broken... For 2 days we were promised it would be fixed. IT WAS NOT. it was very uncomfortable and the staff was full of excuses and empty promises. I complained and asked for a partial refund which was refused. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED with the hotel and would never recommend it.

Very Disappointed, good position, but poor service

On arrival, the position of the hotel and view was spectacular. We went to reception and waited for 10 minutes or so and nobody came. I went to look for some one and found a man and lady talking loudly (arguing) in a little room behind what looked like the bar. The woman came to reception and proceeded to book us in. My wife asked if we could book a table in the restaurant for our evening meal. She said there wasn't a restaurant. We then asked if we could have a coffee in the lounge. She said there was no coffee or tea making facilities. We asked if there was tea/coffee making in the room, no was the answer.
The room was adequate but tired. The carpet was stained and dusty around the edges. There was dust on the bedside tables and dirty window frames. The bed was big but very hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom was OK but needed a good clean. The shower door frame didn't fit very well and was corroded and the shower head rail was very loose on the wall. The grouting and sealant around the tiles in the shower was mouldy. The bottom of the radiator was also rusty.
Breakfast was also very poor, nothing like the website pictures. Bread for toast, cold boiled eggs, 2 types of cake , jam and honey, Yogurt, tea and coffee. A selection of fruit.
We were both very disappointed with the GRANDE ALBERGO INTERNAZIONALE. It is supposed to be a 4 star hotel and the best in Brindisi. It is just a GLORIFIED BED and BREAKFAST with a very nice view.
I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Good night's stay in Brindisi

One night stay in a single room on the second floor.
Great location and a lovely old building with bags of character, albeit a hotel which has probably seen slightly better days. Staff excellent throughout and my room was spotlessly clean if a little basic. Buffet style breakfast was great and WIFI free and fast. €20 in a cab from the airport.
Parts of the hotel are looking tired and in need of a refurb, but for reasonably priced accommodation located conveniently for the centre of Brindisi, the hotel really can't be faulted. Would definitely stay here again.

The rooms with a view are beautiful. Clean with two large windows opening to the sea. Highly recommended. The lobby is gorgeous. Parking is very easy, you just need to look at the email or call the hotel prior to arrival for the address that will bring you there. The GPS doesn't take you to the front of the hotel.

The hotel has nice location facing the ocean. It is a grand hotel perhaps according to pre 1960 standard, but now has a tired look. The front lobby was empty when we checked in sat afternoon, and after 10 min lady with normal dress came from behind bar to check in, not a formal concierge. The entire lobby, seating area, elevator, hallway, all humid and non air conditioned. The tapestry,carpet,sofa and chairs all looked like they are from 20-30 years and never changed. Only saving grace is there was AC in the actual room. Beware of the plumbing....the water in faucet and shower drained very slowly. You can only take 4min shower before 3 inch of standing water buildup beneath your feet....you have to wait for water to drain before continuing shower. Breakfast buffet mediocre, hot water for tea and coffee not hot, non 100% fruit juices, and bad scrambled eggs and no more bacon at 930am when breakfast ends at 10am. Overall grand hotel is not grand anymore.

Hotel stay was excellent. View from room amazing. Staff all excelled at their jobs and supply of information when requested. The thing that let the hotel down was the condition of the carpets in the room with large dinner plate stains visible. Also the bathroom while quite large, the shower area was very small and the shower screen was barley hanging together. Only small things and I did not complain about it, But! for the price paid I was expecting a bit better as it was not cheap and the room was one of the better ones.

The hotel is in a fantastic location right on the waterfront near to several restaurants, but only a 3 minute walk to a variety of shops.
Brindisi has many historical sights and venues which are free to enter, and the majority have commentary in English.
The hotel has a very grand feel to it, although the bathroom in our room looked a little tired and needed some minor upgrades.
The breakfast was excellent with a good variety of food and drinks.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We were changed to a sub standard hotel when we were on our way to the airportl. We had booked this holiday especially to stay inthis hotel on the promenade. The hotel we were sent to was in land. It had a pathetic breakfast, chipped cups and glasses and was desperately in need of refurbishment. We were disgusted to be treat in this manner. We will also make a complaint on our return to the Uk

I don't know why people have this hotel above average rating. I saw that its clients tend to be older, and might be easier to please. The service is sub-par, guests often have to wait to get room key as no one was at the front desk. There are better choices in the city. This one is a dinosaur. They did give me a bottle of wine for free.But no wine opener nor glass. Couldn't enjoy it there.

Very vintage and grand. Despite being old, the amenities, furniture, decor was comfortable and tasteful. Staff, overall were friendly and helpful. Don't bother with the bar, it appears to be there purely for decoration(no joke). Have a drink at Betty's, nearby.

Booked bed and breakfast, room sparse but clean and comfortable bed- despite bedcover being worn and dated. The mini bar was warm, containing only water x 2 bottles.
Bathroom had mildew on shower cubicle tiles and door faulty, however it was quiet and comfortable.
Breakfast was ok, service was slow - possibly as we arrived at 9am and breakfast ended at 10am...
been to much better 3 star hotels with better quality of accommodation, service and food.

Friendliest hotel in a charming town.

Really relaxed friendly hotel, the receptionists, room cleaners, waiters at breakfast - all so warm and effective and helpful. The hotel has real character and a sense of history. Its pretty worn.. but that just adds to the charm and sense of ease.

We stayed here for just one night in early September. We had a sea/harbor view room and found it very roomy and equipped nicely. The view was fantastic. You could watch the boats come in and the people come and go on the boardwalk directly below our room. It was not too noisy and worth the extra for the view. The hotel is very pretty with a grand entry and nice sitting room. The breakfast room was also nice with a good assortment of food to choose from. The best thing about it was Lydia (Lidia), the young lady at the reception desk who was about as pleasant as anyone we've come across at a hotel reception. Location is the best in Brindisi, especially if you're taking a cruise.

The hotel itself was reasonable the b da we're very hard and the pillows old and like rocks
The shower had two seats not the door a consatina one leaked everywhere and the shower head wasn't good old fashioned at best
The room was big and airy bit of you want peace and quiet ask for a room on the top floor or at the back as this is the promenade place and they party till late directly outside the hotel
Also the address is misleading don't go by the hotel address as on the web site it's not correct put in the hotel name and the correct driving address will come up
Also make sure you book parking too

Elegant hotel but for a 4star "international" surprised that TV channels were 100% Italian! We were offered an upgrade to our room but surprised to find no chest of drawers - we kept our undies in the suitcases!! Also nowhere outside to rest/relax before exploring excellent eating places near by. Having said all this, the location is superb right on the waterfront with the only traffic to pass by luxurious yachts!! The buffet breakfast catered for all tastes and was plentiful.

Fine Traditional 4 star Hotel. At the harbourfront in the "old" part of Brindisi, near all the historic sites. Reception on arrival wonderful to deal with, most helpfull. Lift to rooms was very tired, rocked and rolled, and quite noisy too, however it did function. Room fabulous, overlooking harbour to front, very large and comfortable, sheets changed daily, bed quite hard though, very clean. Decent WiFi. Breakfast the usual continental style, plenty of it and fresh, with the exception of the scrambled eggs, and the flabby bacon. Why cant the Italians get this right? However, as I have said plenty of it and otherwise very tasty. Ask the waiter for a cappuccino and it arrives prompltly and very good, not the UK Costa or Starbucks rubbish, but the proper job. Plenty to do, places to eat and drink in the very local area if staying for just a few nights, if longer you will have to look further afied into the "new" town. We would definitely stay again. Charming hotel

We stayed in this hotel before and after our cruise. It as a great location and is close to everything. The breakfast was great, staff helpful, and room clean.
I would recommend a Junior Suite with water view

Great hotel in fabulous location

I can't imagine why anyone would stay anywhere else in Brindisi. This hotel has it all. The location is fantastic-right on the waterfront with views across the bay. It is only a 5 minute walk from where the airport bus drops you off and just round the corner from the Roman column. Everywhere of note is an easy walk away and there are plenty of lovely restaurants nearby. Our junior suite had two tall windows facing the sea and was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was huge! Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with everything from cereal, toast and scrambled eggs to fresh fruit, cheese and several types of cake. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel and hope to return some day.

Hotel is in a perfect location, but its under renovation...the breakfast is amazing good but the rooms.... matress is hard not enough pillows, tv has only italian channels and bathroom only offers soap and shower heads as toiletries, no tissues...can only charge device 120 volts.... no other outlets, we used it to get on the cruise
