The location and the staff was excellent and the room was pretty and supper clean but the only thing missing was the air conditioner, we have to sleep with the balcony open and still hot inside the room…but the rest of my experience wast super nice.

We had an excellent stay at Regina Elena. We booked a room with a terrace looking out to the sea which was better than expected. The terrace was huge and had a table and chairs, as well as lounge chairs - perfect for a morning coffee or evening wine! The bed was very comfortable, the room had a well-stocked mini fridge with reasonable prices and the bathroom was spacious and had a great shower. Breakfast every morning was excellent. It had so many choices that I enjoyed something different each morning. The roof top pool and beach were both very nice and the hotel is conveniently located near the bus stop and along the walking path to Portofino. We would definitely stay here again!

We were also really disappointed to be asked for €50 per person per day to go onto the private beach. Consequently it was empty almost all the time.

Beautiful hotel a short walk from town. Lovely staff who were really friendly. Rooftop pool and hot tub was beautiful, rooms large and accommodating but the least said about the pillows the better (pretty hard). Really had a wonderful stay, if only the weather was as bright as the staff. Cannot fault the hotel and so glad we chose it for our Portofino trip.

The only negative would be that they charge for additional for breakfast that is about average quality. Average hotels that cost significantly less tend to include breakfast at no additional cost.

The only negative was when going to the hotel managed beach for a swim we were badly treated by the beach police or staff. When my wife explained she was going out in the sea to swim a couple km and will not use the hotel umbrellas or beach beds “no you cannot” the staff said. “Yes I can” was the reply. There was unnecessary tension and it was badly managed.

I have stayed in the Regina Elena a number of times over the years and have never been disappointed. It is well located and very well managed. Everyone that works there is helpful and friendly. I hope to stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Santa Margherita.

We had a great stay at the Regina Hotel. We made great use of the rooftop pool and the private beach while we were in town. Quick walk into Santa Margherita and a short bus ride (or ~30min walk) to Portofino. The hotel staff was amazing. They helped us make reservations/called taxi’s and were all around very pleasant. Room was clean and well maintained. Cleaning staff were exceptional & room was nice (walls thin so was noisy when neighbours were about). Location was about 800m from a selection of restaurants. Breakfast had a good selection. Pool was small & the blue paint was coming off the pool. Plenty of pool beds & towels which was a delight. Shower for pool was inadequate & water was flowing into the toilet floor. Lots of beds for beach with a charge of €50 for 2 beds.

The hotel was average. On a bright note, it was in a great area where you are super close to Portofino and other fun locations. (BUT you have to walk about 25 minutes to get to the train station) Our view was nice as well. But, a few hard things to deal with were the noise from the hotel itself, the doors are not sound proof at all and you can hear everything. Also, we had no WiFi ever!! It kept connecting and disconnecting… we talked to the staff and they were not helpful at all, gaslighting us. (Also the view from the pictures on Expedia are not real )

This property has an amazing location just 10 minutes driving distance from Portofino. Staff was incredible and helped us with our bags and even get a taxi to go to Portofino. Parking on site, room with an incredible view, and even let us use some bikes for free to explore around!

This was the loudest hotel I’ve ever stayed if. There were people loudly talking all night, the vacuum outside our room, and there was a loud banging that woke me up. You could literally hear everything going on on your floor. The front desk staff was nice and the only positive experience we had. The breakfast buffet looked so gross I was flabbergasted people were eating it. Decent location but needs some improvements.

The food at the restaurant was delicious - you should try dinner at least once while there; breakfast was a huge spread to choose from. Great access to their own beach. No bad things to say about this experience - we will definitely choose to stay here again if our travels take us back to Santa Margherita, Liguria, Italy!!!

Our only fault would be that we where unable to put our air conditioning on at night as it wasn't working. We had to open the patio door which lead to mosquito bites. So disappointing!
This hotel was so disappointing. It was 90 degrees out and 90 percent humidity and the ac did not work. It was miserable. We asked multiple times for help although it was not repaired. There was apparently some switch they could turn on although it did not work and we asked for a repair man although no one came. Not only that, but the radiant floor heating was on so it was even hotter. when we asked at the front desk if it was on they answered “could be”. The guy then said he didn’t build the hotel so he didn’t know. We slept on top of the sheets and could not wait to get out of the room every day. I have been wanting to stay here for a long time so it was even that more disappointing.

Your hotel was great but we had a barking dog in the room by us for 3 days! The owner wouldn’t take care of it and we would not stay there again because of that.

Staff were most helpful and kind. The pool on the roof is small but good with fabulous views. Fantastic location to explore the beautiful Ligurian coast. Santa Margherita in general is beautiful and quiet with excellent links to Portofino, i will definitely return. hank you for making my visit so special

Breakfast was cery reasonable and very good. Rooftop pool was lovely. We had a nice easy 4k walk along the coast to Portofino and a 7 euro boat taxi back. Parking is very secure and next door to hotel. It is a bit pricey but I also noticed some people parked on the side road.
If you eat out try restaurant Angelo 48 in tge centre of the town - the food was excellent.
