Quite a nice hotel in a very good location for the train. The room was quite large and clean and the bathroom too. However the carpets in the hallway were rather dirty and this gave a negative first impression that would be easy to fix with a deep clean. Breakfast was not bad - the pastries were particularly nice - but the hot options were a bit drued up.

Just what we wanted near the station

We stayed here for 2 nights and wanted a hotel very close to the station. This fits the bill.
It's a modern hotel but not in the historic centre, but easy walk to see all the sights and restaurants.
The room was fine - very quiet.
Staff very helpful.
Breakfast was fine with good range of fruit, cereals, bread, meat, pastries and fantastic fresh squeezed orange juice.

Front desk staff was very accommodating and spoke English, which was helpful. They even called me a taxi when I needed one. The hallways had seen some traffic, but the rooms were nice, spacious and clean. Perfect location just outside of the train station. My room faced the station and was very quiet.

We only stayed one night and it was perfect for our needs. Opposite the train station and only a 10 minute walk to the central/port area.

Staff were great and let us check in early. Very friendly and had excellent English.

Room was clean and comfy but the bathroom a little dated. The air conditioning was quite noisy.

Breakfast included a nice selection of sweet and savoury goods.

Property is very convenient to train station being walking distance. Airport is about 10 min away by taxi. The hotel allowed early check in, set up and early taxi to airport and provided breakfast to go boxes, as we were missing the breakfast.The hotel is conveniently located, efficient and helpful. The hotel decor is dated, carpeting in hallways need to be cleaned or replaced. The staff is helpful and courteous. Ideal for a stay before catching an airplane or train

It started with a very pleasant check-in and car parking. The lady at reception was exceptionally helpful.
The hotel is centrally located so access to the main attractions was close by.
The breakfast was great. Hotel also provides coffee making facilities in the room. But do get buy milk.

Little things matter

Quick overnight stay due to ferry being cancelled, can't beat the location or the accommodation.
Next to railway station and central for bars and restaurants.
My only negative is even though breakfast was excellent the breakfast staff who knew I only spoke English tried to fob me off with machine coffee instead of a proper coffee when I asked for an Americano all the while happy to serve their Italian customers with proper coffee.

Great time in Brindici

All of the staff at Palazzo Virgilio were amazing. They were warm, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. There was also a delicious breakfast served every morning. I am a huge fan of pastries and they did not disappoint.
The room was very nice. . . comfortable, very clean , and pleasant. With the exception of the Wi-Fi going out in my room(but could access in the lobby) it was excellent.

This property was a very nice find. The location was so much better than my last hotel stay (in Rome). I could get around the city on foot without issue and there were restaurants within walking distance, near the hotel. I sadly had an early flight out the next morning and only had the one night there. I was unable to take to much advantage of the comfortable bed or the included breakfast. They very kindly had a breakfast box prepared for me at my 5am checkout.
I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect option near station

We flew into Brindisi quite late at night and needed an easy option to stay one night before heading down to the Salento and Palazzo Virgilio was perfect. Not even a minute’s walk from the central station, very helpful and friendly. The room was a little old fashioned but very comfortable. Fabulous breakfast.

This is the second time I have stayed here, and can't recommed it enough, especially if you are using trains to tour the area. It is 2 minutes from the station, but quiet, and absolutely fabulous. Compared to other places round about Brindisi is value for money and especially here at Palazzo Virgilio

We enjoyed all the comfort of this beautiful modern Hotel Palazzo Virgilio! To our surprise, this Hotel was a few steps to the Train Station , of which we took the advantage to do day trips to nearby Tourist cities like Lecce and Polignano a Mare! There was so many other options and opportunities to explore more places, but unfortunately because of the extreme heat advisory, we did what we could .
This Hotel Palazzo Virgilio was very accommodating! Check In was very professional and quick. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Every morning, there was a variety of Hot buffet, cheese, sweets, fruit , espresso coffee and cappuccino prepared by Salvatore! A wonderful caring happy person that greeted everyone with a smile and great advice!
We would definitely return to this Hotel Palazzo Virgilio if we return to Brindisi, if we do another Cruise.
Brindisi is a Port City that has so much to offer and a great location to embark and disembark for a Mediterranean Cruise !
We recommend this Hotel Palazzo Virgilio to all our friends and anyone that is traveling to Brindisi to board a Cruise !

Thank you to all the staff at this beautiful Hotel Palazzo Virgilio , that treated us like family and made our stay very enjoyable!

Extremely helpful staff, happy to go the extra mile to help. Onsite parking. Terrific breakfast - the custard filled croissants were delectable. The hotel is close to the station which is good for people arriving or leaving by train, but inevitably there are a few low life types skulking about and if you have a window open it can be noisy. Restaurant Pantagruele 10 minutes walk away is a useful local resource. Have the tasting sample of primi piatti.

The room was fine, so was the service. Small things could be improved though: in the hallway there were stains on the carpet and the tv sound and the remote were working funny. Still I found it rather a bit expensive for what it was (not comparing hotels within the city but in the region)

This hotel is a bit of a nightmare. It's very central which is ok but the room was tiny for 2 people, the aircon outside was very loud and it wasn't comfortable. The staff did not pay any attention to what I had reserved and requested. A bunch of young, underpaid men who claimed they are new here and had no clue whatsoever what they were doing. It was pretty bad. I would not recommend this place.

The location next to the train station and on the main drag is nice. The rooms are spare but have everything you need and the bathrooms are well appointed. It was very clean. The front desk staff was very helpful. We did have one problem with our shower which only ran VERY hot water - first time we ever had that happen! And we had to bathe out of the sink. I'm sure they would have changed our room or fixed, but we didn't have time because of a very early departure.

This is our third stay at this hotel. It is comfortable and very central to the city centre - walkable to the port and close to the station. Breakfasts are okay - A better selection of cooked breakfast would be welcomed. One point that we need to make is that on the confirmation booking, it clearly states \"free parking\". In fact there is \"free LIMITED parking\". Any other parking is charged at 10 euros per day !! Because the limited parking at the front of the hotel is always taken first, we had to use the one at the back of the hotel which is chargeable so we had to pay an extra 40 euros for our 4 night stay. We did show our disappointment to the hotel receptionist who said it was now hotel policy. However, we feel hotel guests should NOT be liable for charges. Perhaps Expedia can clarify this for future bookings ?

Great hotel great location. Staff is great. From this location it is a short walk to all sites. As you walk to the port where there are lots of eats you pass through the main shopping area. Suggest rating at Betty Cafe at the port. Recommend this hotel. Free parking as well.

World traveler experienced in Europe.
Pros: good location near transportation 10 minute walk into town 17 minutes to the port. Free parking . Above average breakfast for Europe Hotels. Good bathroom water pressure .Professional staff.
Not so good: dated style room with musky mildew odor . Bed far too firm uncomfortable. Air conditioning was centrally managed with very little flexibility for user. More of a business Hotel, where a little charm to the rooms all the lobby and breakfast area where modern up-to-date.

Generally excellent hotel in Brindisi

We stayed there for one night before starting on a cycling holiday round Puglia. Hotel was central and a short walk from the shops and Brindisi attractions.
Breakfast was decent buffet.
All was good but a couple of issues with the room:
1. No facial tissues. Provided in any decent hotel.
2. There is some sort of a motion sensor just outside the bathroom and facing the door of the room. The intent is to provide a light when you enter the hotel room. The result was that it came on if you went to the bathroom during the night. Not only startling me but waking my wife.
We have stayed in many hotels and never come across such a poor design feature. Obviously the room designer never thought about people who might need the bathroom during the night. Or even a nursing mother who got up to feed a baby.

In fact excellent hotel design would have a night light in bathrooms.

Very comfortable hotel and exceptionally clean and well managed. Room was lovely and bathroom sufficient.
Breakfast could be improved. Lack of selection, no toast, no offer of cooked breakfast i.e. fried eggs and although serving times from 7.00-10.00am, by 9.30 no bread or scrambled eggs left. There seemed to be no replenishment.
You also had to ask for speciality coffees i.e. cappuccino, latte's. So we felt this area could be improved. Other than that all good. It was our second stay there and we would stay again and recommend it to family and friends.

Not a hotel for a long stay, but good for overnight as it is close to the rail station and the bus stop to Brindisi airport.

The room was functional, if a little boring. The breakfast was very good and started at 7am, just right for our 10.45 flight.

I stayed two nights, very friendly staff and good service. There was no problem that I arrived almost 3 hours ahead of check-in time. Unfortunately, I do not know the name of person who was in charge of bar/meals. When she learned that I got a cold, she supplied me with lemon and offered a piece of cherry pie free of charge. BTW, the room had coffee/tea facilities. Breakfast was OK, although may be not that great for vegetarians. Juice making machines were available for orange and vegetable mix, which I never saw even in 5 star hotels. I enjoyed freshly squeezed carrot/apple juice every morning.

I had a one night stay as I was ending a trip and needed to be at the Brindisi airport early the next morning. I was totally pleased with everything. The room was comfortable, modern and attractive. The staff was very helpful and gracious. Dinner in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. The location was very convenient to the center and to transportation.

Good hotel for a short stay.

Easy to get to by public transport because it is located opposite the railway station. It is a noisy area, so the windows cannot stay open during the night. Temperature in the room is controlled at the reception, so you have no control over that.
It was 26 degrees in our room in December!

Great location to stay overnight to catch a flight

We stayed at Palazzo Virgilio so that we were closer to the Brindisi airport. The hotel has a very modern, clean design aesthetic. It's location can't be beat. The hotel is right in front of the Brindisi station and along the main shopping street. We were here in December and the Christmas market was right outside the hotel. The only negative about the hotel was the noise. We were in a second floor room facing the station. We could hear the garbage trucks and buses pass by, the young people hanging out and speaking loudly.
