This is a tough review- the place itself is great. Very clean and staff very helpful. However, please note, this is in a not so nice/safe feeling neighborhood. We would not feel safe walking around in the evening/after dark. There were a couple of men sleeping right outside the parking lot when we left today. That being said - the inn itself is truly a gem! Beware, the parking is tight, on site food options (except breakfast) are slim but you can order from some local eateries that will deliver. Breakfast is done a little differently- just to add to the charm.

We had a very enjoyable 3 night stay at the Priory. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The beautiful courtyard was my favorite thing here -- I spent two lovely afternoons reading and resting between activities.
The location is excellent. We were able to walk to most things -- the historical neighborhoods of the North Side, PNC park (12 -15 min walk), the Andy Warhol museum (12 min) the Strip (25 min walk), and downtown (20 min). The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but we did not feel unsafe; we were simply cautious. There is a free shuttle available in the evenings that will take you and/or pick you up anywhere within a 3 mile radius, but we did not feel the need to use it.
The only real negative for us was the breakfast. The coffee was good, and we liked the availability of a piece of fresh fruit, but otherwise quality wasn't great -- the orange \"juice\" we requested turned out to be Sunny D, and the croissant sandwiches and muffins tasted highly processed. We would have appreciated the option for dry cereal with milk to go with the fruit and yogurt. I DID appreciate that my written requests on the last day were honored -- for a specific flavor yogurt and just a plain croissant, rather than sandwich. None of this is a deal breaker, however. We would happily stay here again.

The hotel is charming, the rooms are large, with high ceiling, big windows and nice decor. The windows would benefit from black out drapes, as the hotel is close to a busy road.
The breakfast is served in the former Refectory and you can take it to the beautiful inner courtyard where there is plenty of sitting and a fountain amidst the greenery and flowers.
The bathroom is smallish but very well appointed and sparkling clean.
There is also complimentary outdoor parking, a big plus in any city.

Walk to the office location was lovely but I wouldn’t walk home near dark. On an unassuming street, but as soon as you walk in you’re taken back in time in the best way. Staff was wonderful, breakfast convenient and the courtyard is just perfect. The room is so comfortable and spacious. I’ll stay again!

Staff is great; the room is clean and beautiful; parking is easy and the location was convenient to where we wanted to be. The breakfast was below the level of what we would expect from the Priory. We had to choose what we wanted for breakfast the night prior. If you choose yogurt, you don’t know what flavor you’ll get. The coffee was very good but there was no regular milk; just oat milk, half and half and creamers in the plastic containers. I won’t go on but I’ve had much better breakfasts at much lower quality stays.

The staff was great! They were friendly, helpful and it was clear they believe in top notch hospitality. We were disappointed with the breakfast. It was a boxed meal containing a warmed up pressed egg sandwich with an oily croissant, plastic wrapped chocolate chip muffin and a no name fruited yogurt in a plastic container. We chose to eat breakfast at a restaurant the following morning. I would have expected a much better breakfast experience from an establishment like the Priory.

Appreciated that we could park in their lot across the street before check in. Friendly staff. Breakfast provided was nice which we ate in the courtyard (or could have inside). Room was clean and with a nice subdued decor. They do have a mini-fridge, which I don't think is listed on their website. Good location--walking distance to Northside locations. Short drives elsewhere. No road noise despite being near highways.

The staff was wonderful and friendly! The weekend free shuttle to the Pirates' baseball field now also runs for midweek games! The private courtyard was beautifully landscaped and a great place to eat our breakfast or enjoy the evening. Parking and breakfast were included, and the property was so quiet! It was like staying at a B&B or being a guest in someone's home. Will definitely return!

The room was big with a comfortable bed but the bathroom was tiny with the sink outside the bathroom (and a door that opened into a person standing at the sink). No place to put any toiletries. The grab-and-go breakfast was ok but a limited election for a 3 night stay. I was expecting more choices.

Really nice little boutique hotel that was in a part of town that felt a little sketchy (but then again I don’t know a lot about Pittsburgh; it’s in the city’s historic district). Free parking (always a plus!) Great little bar. Large, clean, nicely appointed rooms. Not a bad place to spend a few days if you’re visiting the city. They may need to work a bit on accessibility. There’s an elevator but no ramp at the entrance, only stairs.

Convenient location to most all areas in the city, it's easy access via the major routes. This would be my first choice on future places to stay while in Pittsburgh.

Room was clean and spacious for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids with a very friendly staff. We were in town for a Pirates game and PNC Park was a short, 5-10 walk away. The to-go, hot breakfast on our departure day was a nice treat and the hotel itself included safe, free parking and was a beautiful, historic building with comfortable beds The only thing missing was a mini fridge, but I should have asked about this ahead of time since we were traveling with my son's medication that needed to be kept cool and it was a bit inconvenient having to rely on our small travel cooler. Overall, this hotel is highly recommended and we would definitely stay here again the next time we visit!

The room was very clean and well maintained. One selects breakfast from a provided menu and leaves selected choices at desk by 10pm the night prior. Your breakfast is in a handing carrying box in the dining room at the time you've specified. One can eat there or take it with you. Beverages are provided.

Do not stay in room 101. The hotel was impeccable and we had a wonderful experience overall. However, every night we had to deal with loud drunks from the bar lounge area directly across from our room. I had to call and request the staff to ask the bar patrons to quiet down. This went late into the night. If we visit again we ask for a different room location. The hotel overall is amazing and we will definitely return, just not to room 101.

The king-size bed room was not large but just fine for our one night stay for a ballgame. The breakfast was just right and boxed ready for pickup at our chosen time in the morning. But the best part of the stay was the service and Monk’s Bar. We played a fun game while having a pre-dinner drink. Would definitely recommend!

I felt duped. This property is in a very run down neighborhood. The gated parking had a fence but no gate . You park at your own risk.
While it is clean and rooms are decent, there are virtually no amenities. You would never walk anywhere from this location.
The breakfast is , literally, a croissant sandwich.
You get water or juice with it.
We left after one night because we felt so uncomfortable.

Stayed a Thursday and Friday night for a medical procedure at Allegheny General Hospital on Friday so didn’t roam around very much. Very close to the I279 exit and the hospital. Very clean and quiet in our 3rd floor room. A lot of staff was visible but never in the way. Very professional. Obviously a very old historic building but very well preserved and maintained. Nice atmosphere.

It’s nice to see this historic building find new life as a hotel. While it definitely lacks state-of-the-art features that most modern hotels are able to offer, it manages to make up for it with a certain quirky charm.
Proximity to the City Center is just a 5 minute cab ride, but the hotel itself is not in a particularly interesting or upscale part of town. Our biggest disappointment with our stay was the general tone of indifference exhibited by the staff. I wouldn’t say they were unfriendly, just that there seemed to be no interest in ensuring guests were made to feel welcome.
I have no idea whether it’s just a Pittsburgh thing, kind of like how Bostonians have a reputation for being A’ holes. Either way, poor customer service is a complete deal breaker for us. So unfortunately, we will most likely not be staying here again.
