I didn’t like the rooms. They were in one corner of the building and had no decent view at all. The lights in the room and the shower had problems, which were not fixed during the 2 nights we stayed. The reception did not ask how was our stay when we checked out. Considering the name of the hotel, the lobby was pretty ordinary. The breakfast and the staff at the restaurant were excellent.

This hotel is in a central location on Lake Como and within walking distance to many restaurants, the ferry, the funicular and other attractions. The “continental” breakfast was actually a huge breakfast buffet with pastries, eggs, bacon, sausages, fruit, mimosas, coffee, deli meats, granola and juices…all delicious! Rooms are updated and very clean. My only complaint is concerning the flat, hard pillows but I also did not ask for a replacement which I should have done.

From the moment we arrived the staff in the front desk were excellent and took time to help us understand the area and how to book water taxi’s too. Very efficient, professional and nice. Rooms were superb and when booking I mentioned this trip was a double celebration for our friends and ourselves and there was a nice welcome in both rooms and personalised too.

You cant beat the location of this hotel, right next ro the train and boat station, right next to Piazza de Duomo and all the shops and restaurants. Just walk out and you are on the waterfront! Breakfast is great, staff are lovely and most of the hotel has been refurbished and is looking great! Some areas I imagine are still needing to be done, but does not spoil the stay. The room is large and the bathroom is clean and fresh (massive bathtub, the shower space is a little small, but again absolutely fine). We loved our stay here and recommend it 100%!

The AC did not work and when I went to inquire, it was not working during the season (early November) only the heat was on. They said they could turn it off from the front desk to my room, but it did not help. Sleeping was difficult as I prefer the room chilly. That was the only downside to the stay. I should have opened the balcony door, but wasn’t sure about street noise. Everything else was great!

The rooms were not very nice and had carpet- which is gross. The bathrooms were so small. The lobby is undesirable. The lobby furniture is old and dirty. The outside of the hotel is beautiful- deceiving of the inside. The location is perfect.

I booked the Palace Hotel in Como based on the photos and description, but it was a major disappointment. The hotel felt far less grand than advertised. At check-in, there was no valet or bellman to assist with luggage, and the reception area looked sterile and unwelcoming. The elevator to our floor had a strong odor, like damp, decades-old carpet, which set a poor tone right away.
The layout of the hotel was confusing, with inadequate signage to guide guests to the rooms or elevators. Although our room had been recently renovated, it was extremely basic and lacked the charm or amenities one would expect at this price point.
The only positives were the spacious grounds and the convenient location across from the lake and within walking distance to the main square. However, overall, this was one of the least favorable hotel stays we’ve had in all our travels—and certainly not worth the $600+ per night rate.

Unfortunately, when I checked in, I was not told that it was only specific to one of their restaurants. I was not feeling a very big meal so I went to their smaller little restaurant garden bar, and when I went to pay, I was told that it did not count there. It wasn’t the biggest deal, but it would’ve been nice to be aware of that upon check-in. If I would’ve known, I would’ve forced myself to go to the other restaurant and maybe just not order a lot of food.
2. I had the most amazing view. I loved it so much. It did look toward the little bar/garden restaurant and they played some awesome music but sometimes while getting ready for bed it was a little bit on the loud side. The bonus was, though that it did not last all night

The Palce hotel sits at the base of Lake Como which is perfect location for exploring the lake itself or the shopping and history beginnning directly in back of the hotel. The concierge from checkin was wonderful and really gave great insight to the area, things to do in relation to how the weather would be and where to go if we had any questions. The rooms were spacious and I think I slept the best of their beds! We were on an 11 day tour and the sleep I got at the Palace was the best at any of our locations.
