Room was basic, bedding was below par. Overly soft flat pillows, bed was blah. Very disappointed with a Starbucks coffee shop in lobby when Hawai’i has some amazing local coffee. The pool area was fun and our son loved it, water is very cold though. $50 per person for breakfast Buffett seems to a bit absurd when you can support a local cafe and get higher quality food made with real Aloha for less. Surprise, you have to pay an additional $40 a night to self park your car OR $50 a night for valet. The resort I worked for never charged for parking or valet. $50 a day resort fee, while the WiFi is absolute garbage. Walls are thin and we were lucky to have slightly loud neighbors. There was 3 of in our room and the first front of the house representative told me that we could only have 2 of the “free” water bottles that come as a part of the resort fee. Woman running the POS at the coffee shop was not very personable until I tipped, then and ONLY then did she smile and remotely charged her morale.
They advertise “shops” and they is one gift store, I would skip their gift shop and make the short walk to Whalers Village to the ABC store for all of your gift and personal needs (not to mention you will save a ton of money that way) restaurants are either “Fine Dinning”, Pool side, breakfast Buffett or the coffee shop, don’t bother with the Fine Dinning, there are other restaurants a short walk down the beach with a much better selection.

Overall, a very nice stay in a beautiful location with great proximity to nearby attractions. The room was spacious and offered a lovely ocean view. My only suggestion would be to improve accessibility—having a more direct connection from the other buildings to the lobby would make it much more convenient, as getting there currently requires multiple elevators and can be quite time-consuming.

The property is very dated, which was expected given the other reviews. Biggest disappointment was the construction noise -- they're redoing one of their restaurants and the jackhammer noise was very loud. Ruined the plan for a relaxing trip. With that much noise, it should have been mentioned in the description of the hotel.

But location is great, lots of nice sitting areas (if you can stand the noise), and food is pretty good.

I give it a 3.0 rating. Most of the staff was great, a few mediocre. Rooms are a bit run down and aged. Hotel was generally clean for its age. I’m a Hilton person and compare it to a run down Hilton Doubletree. Food was below average - Luau food was comparable to a Golden Corral - almost inedible. Like airplane food on a domestic flight. Drinks at the Luau were disgusting, performance was good. I would not recommend this place unless you are on a strict budget. $600 per night!!! Spend the extra $100 to $200 per night at a better hotel.

The staff was exceptional, so nice and patient. The location was very convenient to shops and great restaurants as well as beach access. It would be great if the hotel had a lifeguard on duty for the beach area.
The grounds keep was good but could be a little better. The halls were a bit dirty but the outside areas were clean.
The pool was great and large enough to separate from crowds. The restaurants and bars had great food for average cost. Drinks are a bit pricey but expected at resorts.
Overall we had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

Room old and dated. Bathroom sink had crack in it and walls heavily painted over. King size bed with a pad that was too small, sheets flat and didn’t fit. Get up or roll over and everything pulled to center creating bunched up pad and sheets. Maid tried to do best but sheets barely reached.
Restaurants pricey. Simple breakfast buffet of basics , no carving stations etc. scrambled eggs , sausage, bacon, potatoes, omellette station, fruit pastry pancake!waffle machine, juice. $50/per.

Self parking $40/day, valet $51.

This is our third time staying in Sheraton in Kaanapali. Unfortunately, despite the premium location, the resort is getting older and older and in desperate need of renovation. Seems that lobby was recently renovated, but rooms need help. Our ocean view room had crack in the sink, no vent in the bathroom and multiple layers of pain that was chipping.
It probably would not matter that much if weather would be better during our stay, because due to the tropical storm we were forced to spend a lot of time inside and definitely noticed all things that need to be repaired.
I am not even going to describe the state of the gym...
Great location, extremely outdated rooms.

We stayed at the Sheraton 1 night during a heavy rain. There was rain leaking from ceilings and rain coming in from everywhere. They had great live music in the lobby. Most of the amenities were not a choice due to weather.

The Sheraton has great grounds, is a beautiful hotel, easy beach access, small waves, turtles right off the beach, good food, a decent small shop for snacks, etc., good live music outside in the evening (happy hour timeframe), a boardwalk that allows you to walk south along the beach for access to other places, including whale watching tours, etc. Our friends recommended it to us and we will recommend it to our family and friends!

Our room had an ocean view with king bed. The room seemed small & no microwave. Coffee packets in the room tasted bad. We had to stream on the TV. Tech came and could not fix TV.

All the staff was great though. The location is a plus right by Black Rock.

We had a good stay. Check-in was 1&1/2 hours late. No rooms ready at the 3:00 check-in time. The rooms were clean. Housekeeping staff was wonderful! We had a great dinner at the Coral Reef restaurant at the hotel. Unfortunately it’s closed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for dinner. We had hoped to eat there again before we left. I was told their other restaurant was being remodeled. Can’t believe they would still close the Coral Reef for 3 nights. That left one pool bar available for dinner. We had eaten the bar food at the pool a couple of times for lunch so not really wanting more bar food for dinner. Luckily there are several restaurants that are walkable but they are extremely busy. Hard to get reservations so there’s always a long waitlist for walk ups.

Beach was beautiful. Snorkeling with turtles right at the beach. Pool clean and pretty. One hot tub, was small for the size of resort. Staff were all very helpful.

I was actually shocked after I “upgraded “ to a room that was in such poor condition. I’ve stayed at holiday inn’s nicer! Second, the front desk agents came across as very short and irritated. I understand they can’t control the weather but there could have comps offered for no shower or power etc. The breakfast Buffett cost $110 for me and my 2 kids and the eggs were powered. Then all our outings kept getting cancelled and there was no compensation. Then I was charged an extra $400 to stay in my room for an extra 3 hours. That’s insane! I also have a charge for $620 on my account and I have no idea what it’s for. I sent an email with no response. I was always nice and kinda when I spoke to people. Your best staff are Larry and the nice older lady who cleaned our rooms. They need promotions. I’d really like to know where that $620 charge came from!

Staff was extremely rude the entire stay. We booked Moana oceanfront rooms. The website states free self parking, we were charged $39 a day for parking and 59 a day resort fee that also states its free with these rooms.

Amazing Stay at Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa

Our stay at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa was unforgettable. The resort has excellent amenities including well-kept tennis courts, relaxing yoga, a beautiful pool area with a jacuzzi and lazy river-style experience, and incredible snorkeling right off the beach — we even saw Honu (sea turtles) and angelfish.

The room and restaurants were great, and the location is perfect with an easy walk to nearby shopping and neighboring resorts. Most of all, the service was outstanding — the staff was warm, attentive, and truly made the experience special.

The location is incredible. Snorkeling was incredible. The hotel amenities were good, gyms and pools were nice. The rooms were dated / worn. The coffee in the room was bad despite us paying a fortune (at the price they're charging they should have Nespresso or equivalent). Not all the restaurants on the property were open and when they were open there were not too many healthy options on the menu. The hotel feels like everything from the rooms to the menus were last updated in 1995, which isn't a huge issue if you're spending your time mostly on the beach BUT given how much this place charges, I would expect a bit more.

Beautiful ocean room and very quiet. Loved the location on the beach and the lazy beach river pool. We also loved that the hotel was walking distance from Whaler’s Village. The food at the poolside restaurant was very good also as were the drinks! All the staff were so friendly and helpful except for the check in guy (around 10:30pm) at night who was not very welcoming and didn’t even smile at us once! Other than that one experience, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely resort and would go back!

Overall great experience. Clean rooms nice amenities beautiful beach. I would definitely rate this 5 stars, however I left for a few days and when I came back some things went missing from my room (guessing they thought I checked out). 4 shell leis and two water bottles, which the hotel did replace after letting them know. I later realized I had 4 waters and a bottle of champagne in the fridge that were taken as well.

This place is like an old, worn out Motel 6. Way Overpriced! It badly needs updated. I’m surprised Mariott has its name on it. Torn carpet. Drain clogged. TV guide state one channel but different channel playing. Internet terrible. Worst breakfast - and beware! My partner and I both got food poisoning and spent most of first day staying close to bathrooms and going for medication. They should shut the breakfast down but it’s a racket - for $94 for two. The staff - except the Filipinos who were nice - are unfriendly, not hospitable, and unhelpful - not into customer service. Check in terrible - staff didn’t help us to room. Worse - he gave us wrong directions and we dragged suitcases all around the resort trying to find our room. Dining choice is limited - we had to walk to nearby hotels for dinner venues. About the best we can say is they had a nice beach. If they would fix the rinse stations, maybe people could rinse the sand off their feet and the bathroom drains would not be clogged.

The room was spotless and staff were quick and efficient with daily clean ups. The issues were all with the amenities. The pool was not heated. The shaved ice kiosk was not open. The only breakfast available on site was a four item room service or a very expensive buffet. All of the amenities were due to fully open on December 18 we were told by staff. I feel this should have been stated at the time of booking. Did it ruin out short vacation? No, but we would have enjoyed it more if these amenities had been available.
