Staff were the most attentive and friendliest group of people I’ve ever had the pleasure to be served by in a resort setting. Spa therapists were excellent and accommodating to my physical limitations. Brought the massages to our room rather than me having to walk to the spa. Grounds were meticulously groomed daily. Food was excellent in presentation, quality, and variety. This resort paid more attention to small details than any place we’ve stayed before.

Definitely one of the best hotel we've ever stayed in. There is nothing to complain about, we had such an incredible stay and wished to stay longer! The staff is so friendly, kind and helpful and make your stay even more enjoyable. The resort is incredibly beautifully designed. The garden is a paradise with a tennis court in the middle. Experienced one of the best massages. It is a heaven, highly recommended! :)

Absolutely the best vacation we have ever had! Hands down, the best service -- staff at Tokoriki Island Resort treat you like loving family. They know your name on the first day and never forget it. We were on the waitlist for the 8-person Teppanyaki dinner and a staff member sought us out to offer the spot -- which entailed finding out we were on a snorkel trip,l and waiting at the dive shop for a long while for us to return -- all so she could ask us if we were still interested in having the open spots for dinner that night. Amazing. 5 star all the way -- all week long for each and every meal, question, activity, and service. Consistently professional. Additionally, the locally sourced, sustainable, farm-to-table and sea-to-table cuisine that Chef Thomas prepares is outstanding and the menu is beyond ambitious and intriguing. Vinaka!

Hello from Tokoriki aka Paradise!

I'm writing this from the Tokoriki restaurant which abuts a calm sea with a view of the island where Tom Hanks hung out with a volleyball in Castaway. But it is not the view (which is spectacular), or the large villas right on the beach (which are amazing) that make this place a 5-star experience. What makes this place a 5-star paradise is the staff.
Somehow EVERYONE knows your name immediately. This in itself is quite a feat because the staff outnumbers the guests. (Someone really knows their Dale Carnagie!) They greet every guest with a welcome song and announce every guest's departure at dinner accompanied by a good-bye song.
It rained quite a bit while we were here, but we did sneak in some incredible snorkling just yards from the hotel. My only tiny complaint is that it would be nice if they offered some relevant exercise classes--I'm thinking like yoga or mindfulness--but I imagine that is on the way since they are in the process now of building a gym.
As I'm writing this another helicopter just landed carrying new guests...can't wait to see their reaction when the entire staff shows up to welcome them!

We tremendously enjoyed our visit to Tokoriki. The resort is intimate and no detail has been spared. Getting there was not too difficult, but getting off the main island was worthwhile. The food at the resort was very well done, although some of the drinks (especially the blended ones) could be hit or miss depending on who was tending bar.

Our only challenge, and truly this is shared to inform other potential guests who may be sensitive to the heat, was the lack of aircon. The resort is open air, with two air conditioned areas (boutique and media room). The bures allegedly are air conditioned but our mini split was unable to bring our bure temp below 82 degrees. We were able to make this work, but it did wear us out over time. The bures ware not well insulated due to their design, and the bathrooms have no fan or airflow whatsoever making them very hot and sticky. They also seem to lack a trap in their sewer lines so there is a small odor in the toilet room. Even with these considerations we would whole heartedly recommend this resort, but would suggest for those really sensitive to the heat to consider coming in a cooler month.

We stayed in 4 different resorts across Viti Levu and 2 smaller islands for a special anniversary and BY FAR the 3 nights in Tokoriki was the highlight – the resort, the rooms, the food (oh my god the food!!) the immaculate conditions everything is kept in and above all: the service – the folks here will make your stay memorable – they certainly did for us! The level of personalized touch is unlike we've ever experienced from any 5 star resort anywhere in the world!

The resort and staff are exceptional. Everyone learns your name, has a smile on their face and treat you as their family. Food and service was excellent. We booked the optional champagne oceanfront dinner, the in villa indulgence package, the teppanaki dinner and the Jetty dinner - by far the best service ever. All dinners included a seranade. Food was fresh. Activities were available throughout the day. Our goal was to unwind and relax. We booked a Burre with a plunge pool. So private and comfortable. Highly recommend. Was the perfect little get- away.

Staff is nice and really friendly and the grounds are breathtaking.

However, do not go if you have serious allergies. They served me the same food to which I am allergic to no less than 10 times despite my numerous warnings and pleas to NOT serve it to me as it could be extremely dangerous. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere with no hospital in sight. This is a disaster waiting to happen and is absolutely unacceptable for a 5 star hotel of this reputation and standing...

The Wifi situation sucks (no wifi in the rooms because "romance" and the cellular data reception is horrible. If you wish to be connected at all times to your family back home while on vacation in case of an emergency, then forget it.

There are no phones in the room

There is no room service per say (having something delivered to your room feels like a special request everytime)

The quality of the housekeeping service varies greatly from day to day. Our special requests were forgotten often.

We did a ton of research on where to stay in Fiji and I’m so incredibly happy we picked Tokoriki. As all others have mentioned once you step onto the island you are in heaven. Everyone is extremely friendly and knows your name and drink of choice at all times. The island is SO quiet and mellow and the staff is SO warm and welcoming. We had a ocean front villa and it was even more dreamy than the photos- heaven.
Tips- Food/Drinks phenomenal order everything, the library they have is amazing tons of books to borrow, daily snorkel trip is gorgeous, WiFi only in lobby.

Nice rooms but greedy...and not a 5 star hotel

Tokoriki has beautiful rooms, a great swimming pool, an ok beach and a staff that knows learns your name. Thats about it. We were a group of 9 and we had to remind them who ordered what. The prices are high. Breakfast is US$25 and cafe latte and additional US$6, a can of coke zero is US$5.50. They offer a complimentary foot rub but they overbook and make you wait. Staff confuses knowing your name with good service! We have been in similar hotels in the Maldives, Bora Bora, Moorea and they are truly 5 stars!

The food and drinks however were extortionately priced and the only thing I’d like to see changed would be some small easy steps down into the Bures pools...
Other than that it was really really amazing!! Perfect for an adults only getaway...

Staff at Tokoriki work hard to make every individual's stay pleasant and memorable. The resort offers relaxed ambience and a great environment to kick back and take it easy. Climate is perfect for poolside reading, watersports, or lying in the private beachside hammock available at each Bure and Villa. A wonderful resort location for meditation or private couple's stay. Important to know there is no wifi in rooms, and lobby wifi is limited bandwidth.

It is very well designed in a beautiful place. The staff are friendly and helpful.
There are 2 main problems 1. There are no telephones in the rooms so in case of a medical emergency it could be dangerous as there is no way to call for help 2. There is no WiFi in the riooms , only in the common area and they turn off the WiFi in the restaurant between 6 and 9 pm “ for romance” but we thought it was treating us like children - after all it’s an adults only resort

Not worth the money

Overall, the resort is lovely. The grounds, restaurant and staff are absolutely beautiful. The staff really try to make you feel at home and are incredibly pleasant. However, for the price you pay, it truly is not worth it.

The room is comfortable, however, having paid $875CAD per night, for a bure without a pool, the room was nothing special. Also, having just stayed at Manta Ray Island resort & Blue Lagoon Island resort in the Yasawa Islands where we paid under $400 CAD per night for much nicer rooms and Momi Bay @ the Marriott in an overwater bungalow where we paid $1200 per night, for a spacious and beautiful bungalow on top of the ocean, the value of our money at Tokoriki is not comparable to the accommodations at the resorts listed above.

In addition, we found the menu to be extremely expensive and limited. There is only one restaurant at the resort so you’re forced to dine there. At Momi Bay, for example, there were expensive and inexpensive options. Also, at Manta & Blue Lagoon we paid $100/$120 per person, per day, for all three meals, and the food was just as good if not better at times.

Finally, not having wifi in the room is definitely an inconvenience. Overall, beautiful resort, but if I return to Tokoriki Island, I would definitely stay at the Sheraton and save $450 CAD per night!

Quiet and incredibly romantic resort with great food, very friendly staff (including much singing), and a gorgeous infinity pool. We were greeted with a beverage and a free foot massage, every room is a stand alone with a beautiful outdoor shower and a gorgeous view of the ocean. Wish we had stayed longer!

NOTE: No Wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby. Perfect for unplugging, not so much if you are trying to work remotely.

Meals were top-notch. We found the continental breakfast, afternoon tea, and two-course a-la-carte dinner sufficient though an extensive meal plan is available for those who require more. Beach bures are clean but very dark, even in the middle of the day. When it was overcast outside, it made it difficult to see. Bures also a little dated for the $700 a night. Internet is not available in the bures "for your own good" so you need to hang around the bar. Clearly a strategy to get you to buy a drink or two. There are also no TVs in the bures- you need to sit in a particular tv room away from everyone. Wifi is also restricted to certain times, specifically in the dining area. i.e none between 6-9pm. So if you are reliant on wifi you need to sit in the lounge area.
Musicians were great and it was lovely to listen to them.

From the moment we stepped out of the helicopter we received a rousing fijian welcoming song from a group of staff assembled to greet us, finished off by 'welcome home!'. And they really seemed to mean it. Can't say enough about the staff - they were genuine, friendly - just great.
The weather was so warm the whole time we were there (15-22 Dec) - even on the overcast days, which we welcomed by the way, because it was cooler - even on those days we got sunburnt.
The resort is well laid out & has that classic fijian styling. Bures are roomy, extremely comfortable and private & just a few steps to the ocean. The main pavillion has a lounge, a bar, the restaurant with indoor/outdoor dining. You can even book an intimate brekky/lunch/dinner right the seafront. And there is a hut for Tappenyaki. The food was excellent - good variety & we were never disappointed.
Lots of loungers or cane seats to relax by the 2x pools next to the main pavillion - which we took advantage of, a lot - cocktail or camera or book in hand. Plenty to do on the water with kayaks, paddle boards & catamaran sail boats on hand (did all of these) & opportunities to go on snorkelling or diving or trips to other islands. We went snorkelling every day & it was great - even found a small reef 50 or so metres from the beach in front of our bure, which no one else seemed to be aware of :). Spent most of our stay on the deck of our bure, it was so comfortable.

We loved everything about our recent Tokoriki stay! Short version for those who want to know it all fast: The setting is absolutely stunning, with lush tropical gardens and a wonderful view out to sea and a few islands. Service is great and very friendly. The food is amazing. The Bures comfortable, beautiful, private and spacious. Best place we’ve stayed in Fiji.

ALL accommodation is beachfront here, with magnificent views. I would definitely recommend the upgrade to a Pool Bure over a Beachfront Bure, as it’s bigger, with a better interior layout AND your own plunge pool, which we LOVED.

Best food we’ve ever had in Fiji!!! The menu changes daily and everything is very fresh. There are some indian dishes, some traditional Fijian dishes, some more modern “Australian/American” dishes and always a lovely salad as an alternative. Two courses for lunch, three courses for dinner (if you’re on the meal plan). Breakfast has all you can possibly imagine should be included in a “continental” breakfast, free flowing french sparkling wine as well! And a breakfast menu with some lovely hot alternatives.

The staff at Tokoriki are all amazing! So friendly and helpful, and yes, they do all know you by name. :) They talk about the “family” and I certainly felt very warmly welcomed to the Tokoriki family and the resort. Everyone makes an effort to make your stay the most memorable, pleasant and fun.

Superb hotel - exceeded all our expectations.

Beautiful hotel located on a secluded island. The waters are crystal clear, the rooms are lovely and the staff are fantastic - they could not do enough to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The food is particularly good (the menu varies everyday and never felt repetitive and each dish was very good) and the diving on the nearby reefs is great.

We felt welcome the minute we arrived. The staff was attentive, and sincere. The food was delicious. The bungalows are all lined up to have ocean views, yet they are all divided with plantings that provide privacy. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Children are not allowed at this resort, which we found to be wonderful as we don't have children and we enjoy eating breakfast without having a 3 year old having a melt down at the next table (which is what you often get at the larger, more corporate resorts). I'm not a wealthy man, so the cost was given careful consideration before we booked our stay. I can report that it was WELL worth the money. We will go back again.

Yes, book this hotel!

We had a great experience at this resort. We looked at several other properties/resorts and made the decision to stay at Tokoriki and it was the best decision. We are used to staying at Four Seasons-type properties and this was definitely on the same level as that. The resort was very lush, well-appointed and comfortable. The staff was beyond amazing - made you feel like you were at home and became like family by the time you were leaving. They remembered and used your name often. The rooms were beyond amazing. The food was also very good and nice presentation! Loved the location because you were not far from the mainland. They had fun activities at the resort to keep you busy - if you wanted. Offsite excursions were not a problem - they made it easy to book and there were several things to choose from. We would definitely return to this resort and location.

Wow this was a fantastic holiday

What makes this place is the staff they go out of there way to make you feel at home from the minute you arrive to the helicopter ride out of there.
The resort is great as well from the very clean rooms to the great food, the bar staff make a mean drink to and we had some really relaxing and deep tissue massages.
The staff at all parts of the resort made it just that little bit more special.
Highly recommend you put this on your bucket list.

Our stay at Tokoriki was absolutely divine. We totally fell in love with the place and staff.
The location is beautiful; lush greenery, amazing beach and sea views, very private, especially if you stay in a bure with a private pool. Can't think of anything to improve.

Fabulous resort!!!

The best vacation my husband and I have had in over 10 years! We selected the resort based on other customer ratings, the fact they don't allow children under 16 and its small size. The service was extremely personalized and plenty of water activities for those who don't care lounge for more than an hour. The bures are spacious and very comfortable! Who knew an outdoor shower could be so amazing? We took advantage of the unlimited spa package and they massaged us until we were wet noodles. We had 10 massages over the course of 8 days. The ENTIRE staff was just amazing! The travel books all talk about how friendly the people are are they are not lying. They all make you feel like you're part of this great big, happy family. I truly can't say enough good things about this resort. There were so many little touches that made our stay spectacular!

The resort is for couples looking to have a romantic get-a-away. If you're looking for more, go to place where they allow jet skis and loud, annoying guests - this place isn't for you :)

One of the most beautiful settings we have seen. Nothing negative, just a suggestion - hotel can do with a bar/lunch menue. You have to dine formal , no other options available. Can't order cake/ snack with tea as an example. Spa is beautiful but the treatments average. Staff very accomodating, Kris must be one of the best hostesses we have came across. Transfer by ferry from Denarau to Tokoriki is a nightmare. It took us 3 hours! We took a helicopter back and this although pricey , highly recommended. The pool , accommodation and sunset are just stunning!

Beautiful but....

The resort is beautiful and the staff is excellent so it's hard to rate it lower mainly because of the staff and the scenery. However there are three areas that really need to be addressed before I would recommend this resort to someone else or return myself.

1. Food. It is not very good at all and extremely expensive. I don't mind paying island prices ( we have been to the Maldives so we expected it to be $$ here) but the food itself was really not good. If I am going to pay $15 USD for two spring rolls and $36 USD for a piece of Chicken, it needs to taste better than something that was pre frozen. The ONLY meal we enjoyed was the Japanese restaurant. That meal was quite nice but it is only open for dinner. They also do not have room service and the lunch menu is pretty limited.

2. Transportation. So I emailed the hotel to ask them how we arrange transportation to and from the hotel. They offered to do it for us however did not tell us that they charge a commission to do this. We ended up paying an extra $260 USD for an already expensive island transfer cost. In total it cost us just over $1100 to get back and forth to the island with their added fee. This part was handled poorly.

3. While the wifi in the lobby works great, it needs to be in the rooms. The staff said it was so we could spend more time together, but honestly, sometimes just need wifi to check on kids and family without having to walk all the way to the lobby and use during their set hours.

Very Best upscale resort in Fiji

My partner & I visited Tokoriki for 5 nights in February this year & thought it was wonderful!

From the moment we booked, the Team at Tokoriki were amazing. Pre-arrival communication was curtious, helpfull & efficient. They helped us with all transfer arrangements & pre-booked 24 X 1 hour massages for us :) pure bliss!!

Tokoriki Island Resort is truly beautiful. Family owned for over 20 years, Andrew & his Team have created a little slice of paradise.

All the facilities are five star. Our Bure was large, beautifully decorated & equipped with an awesome beachfront location. The Spa & Restaurant are newly decorated also & up there with the very best you could expect in Sydney or any other major city.

We would particularly like to thank all the Team for their outstanding service & care & attention to our every need during our stay.

We will be back for sure!!!

Where to start... maybe by saying that arriving at Tokoriki is like coming home; it's full of friendly staff doing everything to make your stay a memorable and enjoyable one. Everyone's in a good mood, laughing and genuinely warm. The resort is boutique so cosy, and you are not just a guest, you are greeted by name every time and everywhere. The unlimited massage deal is a must, and if you can afford it, come via helicopter...
My husband and I travel lots and have high standards.. this place is incredible and a must to stay at.

Heaven on earth

We made our honeymoon in this fantastic place and enjoined every second we been there.

Paradise!

Tokoriki Island Hotel has so much to offer but the stand out feature (other than the amazing view) is the staff - I have never been experienced that kind of hospitality or treatment. From the first foot you step onto the island you are being greeted and welcomed with singing.
The food is wonderful - the menu changes daily so there is a lot of variety
If you can afford to spend a bit extra, I would definitely recommend the sunset villa - the private plunge pool and day bed are amazing!

Paradise: Amazing 5 star resort

We were blown away at our experience at Tokoriki. From the arrival to the gorgeous setting; from the phenomenal meals to the hospitality and friendliness of every staff member. Everyone remembered our names and we were greeted everywhere we went on the resort. The complimentary water equipment was perfect - including sea kayaks and snorkel gear; the daily music was just lovely with the Band Boys.
The room - OMG!! Furniture was beautiful, updated, modern, and the bed was oh so comfortable...private deck looking right onto the beach/ocean was amazing.... with a private pool!! The room was immaculate and perfect in every way. Private outdoor shower too! They were able to accommodate my gluten-free diet. Every meal was divine - and the service was great. There was nothing we didn't love, except having to go home. Highly recommended and we can't wait to go back!

Beautiful Tropical Paradise Resort

This resort is luxury. We stayed only 2 nights due to the price, but it was well worth it! The Fijian staff were beautiful and incredibly polite and helpful. The bure was huge and you could walk straight out onto the beach. Tokoriki Resort has complimentary snorkeling gear, paddle boards and kayaks. There were sea turtles we were lucky enough to see form our kayaks after following the boat dumping the sea weed and watching and waiting. We thoroughly enjoyed all their activities and had some very fun games of volleyball with the staff. We also walked up to the top of the hill behind the resort to watch the sunrise which was spectacular.

I did have some difficulty emailing the management to try and understand inclusions in the deal etc. and I found the same management wouldn't acknowledge us at the resort, but the Fijian staff made us feel very welcome.

The food was delicious! I loved the Kokoda (like ceviche) best.And the drinks especially their mocktails were delicious!

Magical experience!

Every aspect of our week on Tokoriki was perfect! The staff are wonderful!!! They will bend over backwards to make you happy. The Bure was perfect! From the plunge pool to the outdoor shower. We will be coming back and it will be like visiting family! Do not hesitate to book a stay!

Wonderful choice for romantic vacation!

Would totally recommend for a honeymoon!! My husband and I went on our honeymoon here. It was way better then even expected. It felt romantic, expensive, personal and private. I had a hard time picking where to book online because you can only see so much online but this was such a good choice we will be back. It was so easy to take the flight then to get dropped off at the port for the ferry and the ferry took us directly too our resort. We love fiji, everyone is so nice and knows english and its safe! It was so cool to stay with all different couples from different countries. We took a village our to see the children at school which was our favorite thing.

Beautiful and relaxing location for a holiday

Staff, food and accommodation are all excellent. Snorkelling is amazing with warm and clear water and other water-based activities provide good variety. Staff are friendly and efficient and take the trouble to learn your name and greet you regularly. No complaints, but would be nice if there were more to do on rainy days. Would also like to see yoga or similar for some land-based healthy activities.

Let me start off by saying that this place is an absolute gem. My wife and I came here for our honeymoon and could not be happier with our choice!

Tokoriki is about a 15 minute helicopter ride from the airport or and hour and a half + boat ride from the main island. If you can swing it, would highly recommend a helicopter ride to the island--not only will you get more time to spend at the resort, but seeing an aerial view of the mamanucas (which Tokoriki is a part of), is an experience that my wife and I won't soon forget.

Once at the resort you'll be greeted by the friendliest hotel staff I have ever encountered--this is no exaggeration, there's a fairly big staff and they will all go out of their way to truly make you feel at home. Most, if not all of the staff will try to learn your name... which is admittedly a small thing but considering our other experiences vacationing was a nice touch that really made the stay that much more memorable.

The hotel is top notch and there are very many activities to do throughout your stay. If you're looking for a place to truly relax and "disconnect" this is the place for you. In fact, you'll rarely see folks on phones or tablets since wifi is only available in certain places in the lobby/reception area (this is intentional to get folks to really unwind and interact with one another rather than a limitation).

My wife and I struck gold by choosing this place our honeymoon destination. I can't recommend this place enough!

We had a taste of the Tokoriki Island Resort last Christmas when we stayed at the neighboring Sheraton and ventured over for dinner one night, and after that night we decided we had to come back. This time we stayed 3 nights at the Tokoriki Island Resort over the June long weekend and had our expectations exceeded in all ways. The friendliness and professionalism of all staff was a highlight with special mention to Noa the duty manager and Kara from the restaurant who remembered us from our dinner last Christmas. Will definitely be back.

A slice of heaven

Almost canceled our trip due to the cyclone and hearing that Fiji was not up to par yet however we are so glad we didn't!! From the moment you arrive @ Tokoriki Island you feel at home. They welcome you with open arms, always remember everyones names and yet give you complete privacy. Our grown daughter, my husband and I enjoyed the delicious meals and famous ice cream. Best food ever, seriously. The night @ the Japanese steak house was so much fun too! Everyone we met was happy with their decision to stay there and enjoyed visiting with one another. Fijians are some of the happiest people on earth and they take care of you like family. Optional excursions daily were well planned and in small groups so you could really enjoy them.
