This is a great location to experience Fiji for the first time. There are two beaches included in the resort that are walking distance to each other.
The food was great with lots of choice and good quality.
The cocktails at the pool bar and drinks were delicious made by Oscar and Seru.
A fantastic benefit was free and unlimited use of the kayaks, snorkels and fins.
The evening entertainment, in particular the singer and the choir were absolutely fantastic!
The sunset bus trip to the western part of the island was a gorgeous way to start the evening/finish a day relaxing. A wonderful addition to the resort.

I researched for hours trying to find an island resort that was reasonable priced, with snorkeling off the beach and good food... Mana was it!

Great family holiday. We spent 4 nights on Mana island and wish we stayed longer.

Today, comfortable rooms, beautiful staff, plenty of activities, wonderful snorkeling right off the beach and great food.

We took a few snorkeling trips to the outer reef, including a shark snorkel with our 8yo daughter which was amazing!

Also, make the effort to walk down to the village to meet the locals. We bought some Roti off them and our daughter had her hair braided there.

We will be back!

The staff were all so lovely and welcoming. The rooms were basic but great. The buffet was very similar every night but good. The pool and pool bar were great. The activities were a lot of fun and informative. Snorkelling at your door step is amazing. The rooms were cleaned daily if you wanted them to be but they didn’t wash your dishes.

Ample outdoor activities although we mostly did guides snorkel trips and lounged by the pool.

The resort is not what we thought it would be. Very poor and unkept. Needs a major renovation.
The staff were amazing but the resort itself should be cheaper and 3 star rather than a 5 star resort.
We had booked for a 3 night stay and left after the first night.
Would love a refund !

Was a lovely stay but would try elsewhere next time. Staff were amazing but the property needed some work. Broken paths, broken pool umbrellas. One tipped and almost smashed my head. No cushions on some chairs around the pool. Room door barely closed and the bed was like sleeping in concrete even with a mattress topper. AC and shower was great. View from the balcony was great. A little TLC and Mana would be amazing.

We had an amazing stay in our premium beach bure. The food choice was sensational and my husband, who is gluten intolerant, was extremely well catered for, with fantastic hand-made bread that was absolutely delicious.
Staff were wonderful, the facilities were top knotch, the spa was divine and we had one of the best holidays ever. Value for money given the facilities.

All inc With Buffet Breakfasts and evebi g buffet dinners is actually good value.. we paid around $2800NZ for a week on island.
We stayed in the apartments... which had everything we needed...nothing flash but practical and clean. Rooms 300 to 330 ish are acceptable but if your a perfectionish and love to pull holes in anything.. then perhaps pay more and stay elsewhere.
The meals were 8/10 good... They must stsrt pre cooking ALL the beef meats at least an HOUR EARLIER each dayd for the evening buffets... we fou d it always undercooked, tough and mostly chewed then discarded..... otherwise selction is very good.. inc deserts.

Geared up for older families... Ocean Swimming accessible all day long by moving between borth and south side beaches..(Sth Has the deep water pontoo n for low tide swims) We are trail runners and Mana Island allows for an adventurous runner walker to traveresw the entire circle ofbthr beaches... but 2 hrs either side of low tide is easiest....
Watch the beach dogs in small packs.. We were hasteld by 3 of them... not outwardly agressive but not that social either..... Staff are amazing and the iand has everythibg youll need for a week of relax.... Celll and data is available on roaming... Im a business owner and need to be connected..... best strength is up arou d the main resort and pool complex...

MANA island films Survivor Fiji every year.. they close public bookings from around Late May to Early August..... and the 6 plus locations can be easily

I’ll start with the few positives. The view was spectacular and the amenities were good. We did have a good meal by booking a romantic beach dinner. The paid cafe also had good food.

Many if not most staff were not friendly at all, they looked overworked and did not seem particularly happy in their jobs.

The room was not clean the taps had marks on them the table was filthy, the mirrors were dirty and the glasses were also dirty. The blinds were broken which I fixed, the toilet was leaking which I also fixed. The shower door scraped against ground and did not open properly. The verandah had dangerous nails sticking up everywhere. The room was just dated and needs a major renovation.

Water features throughout the resort were not working, a lot of things were an additional charge bike hire, internet, no mini bar in room, no room service. The food at the buffet was not terrible but very bland and boring and slow to be restocked if running low.

Not an experience I would ever want to repeat and I would not recommend anyone to ever go here.

Pros:
Great having a south facing and north facing beach as dependent on the wind you could always find a sheltered area. Great snorkelling.
Half board option was great. Terrific buffet breakfast and dinner. Loved how every night had a different theme. This is fantastic option if travelling with kids - particularly hungry teenagers.
Reef was right on your doorstep, water was clean, warm and beautiful.
Island was large enough so you didn't feel crowded.
Pros:
Bure's were pretty tired, furniture was shabby.
Expensive to get out to the islands.
Inside bar staff where surly, grumpy and not friendly, complete opposite to pool bar staff.
Rooms were not serviced. Left the to be serviced sign on our door two days in a row, and also spoke to reception but no servicing, which was very annoying.

Mana resort is very dated and the deluxe beach front burre was disappointingly basic (nothing duluxe about it). The main restaurant is in desperate need of an update or at the very least a deep clean. Fryers need oil changed much more often and food needs to be kept at food safe temperatures.
However, overall, we loved our time at Mana - especially the relaxed atmosphere, beautiful staff and excellent snorkeling.

They need to upgrade the facility and rooms. Food was very bland and not the greatest, especially for the price you pay. A lot of flies in the buffet eating area especially in the morning. They should include free wifi, but charge for the internet as well. Beaches are beautiful, but they need to upgrade the rooms and facilities, and provide better food for the price you pay. They should also include ferry drop offs and return back to main Denarau marina.

We arrived at Mana Island Resort on Aug 31 after flight cancellations pushed our trip back a day. While the hotel adjusted our dates, the stay itself was unacceptable and misrepresented. There was no TV or entertainment, WiFi was limited to 1–2 devices, and our first room (629) had unfinished flooring/ceilings, flooding showers, damaged mirrors, outdated furniture, and old-smelling linens with brown, frowsy towels. We paid for half-board but were restricted to one restaurant, which was never disclosed. The $472.83 cruise transfer only added to the disappointment.

Most alarming, we discovered bed bugs in both rooms (629 and later 620, which was a downgrade with obstructed views). Dining was also unsanitary—flies swarmed food, drinks, and tables daily, and roaches were present near the coffee area. This made meals unsafe and unpleasant.

Due to the bed bugs, we had to discard most belongings and pay to sanitize what we brought home, yet still live in fear of infestation. This trip caused stress, financial loss, and health risks.

Given the severe issues—bed bugs, unsanitary dining, false advertising, and poor room conditions—I am requesting a full refund of hotel fees.

I’ve submitted photos and videos of everything mentioned above directly to Expedia. I’m unable to add them here.

Property still needs alot of maintenance. Staff are amazing. Views are great. Limited dining options. Wifi and bottled water is available for additional fees which are readily available free of charge at other resorts. Wasn’t worth the money spent.Amenities could be better.

I had to get my ocean view room changed because of ant infestation on the bed and the bathroom having a pungent smell. Staff were really good in accommodating my request. Hopefully the resort improves in the years to come as they are working on renovations.

Awesome location with great beaches, pools & dining. It was great having access to both north & south beach. Good pontoon, snorkeling & kayaking.
Some issues with room config option on booking & what we were given. I should have checked documents better. Some maintenance issues but these were resolved. Maintenance supervisor was fabulous.
Lovely location with cean clear water. Free transport to sunset beach to watch the sunset, was a definate highlight, as was early morning sunrise walk.
The staff at the resort were awesome, so helpful, friendly & genuine. They really made the holiday great.

Amazing experience at mana island. Great tourism destination. Breakfast buffet and dinner buffet were excellent. Many additional tourist activities offered everyday. Fire twirling was fun to watch on the beach. Loved learning how to weave hats, and make Fijian things. Sunset tour was brilliant. Staff were exceptional. My kids loved the games room. The bikes were expensive to hire, i paid $250 for 4 days for my 3 kids, but it was worth it. It allowed them to explore and have them independence and responsibility. We also hired kyaks that was fun. Fish feeding daily was another highlight that we loved.

Sad to see the place is so run down, toilet doors by pool and restaurant that dont close nor have latches. Room cleaning is below average - face towels, cups and soap not replaced. Rubbish overflowing and not changed. Stones missing in outdoor shower floor. Gym had nothing to wipe or clean with. No pen present to sign in, no water fountain. Overall it is clear the resort is just thrashed and tired and many of the buildings need to be properly restored. Please forward this to owners. Staff however made all of that not seem so bad but we’d hate to fo back a third time to such a run down property. Its clear the owners are all about greed and less about preservation and upkeep

My ferry was an hour late, which could of been a disaster if I were not flying out the next day

Our stay at Mana Island was wonderful. We are a family of 3, 2 adults and 1 preschooler. We stayed in an Ocean View deluxe Bure. Place was clean and comfy, quiet, we got 10 hour of sleep at night.
Highlights were Great staff, excellent atmosphere. It was like a party island for families or a family cultural homestay. We were welcomed with serenading it waw beautiful. There are daily activities (cooking class, bike tour aroud island, bus ride to sunset beach, village tour), set almost every hour for adults and for kids at kids club. You will never get bored. There is nanny service for 20fjd/hour. The food is great, freshly made and never out of choices. The nature absolutely stunning. Staff will help you in anyway possible from teaching how to snorkle (our guide held me by the hand to take me snorkling to a good spot and stayed by myside all the time), they also called a buggy to take you around the island. Areas of improvement are - the place can use a bit of and update and cleanliness can improve. But these are minor and the highlights outweigh the cons. Social media does not do it justice and the pictures on the website doesnt show how great this place is.

Hotel on a beautiful island. The cottage is spacious, comfortable with a terrace. Very clean and tidy. Drinking water straight from the tap. All the staff are smiling, friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is excellent and there is a choice. The omelette for breakfast, which is cooked by the father and son of Tevitas, is especially delicious. I am very happy that I was able to enjoy their very delicious omelette all week. Also, all guests whose birthdays are during their stay on the island are congratulated at dinner. Very nice.

You can swim in the sea on both the southern and northern sides of the island. When the tide is very high, it is convenient to enter the sea in the southern part of the island. The corals here are worse than in the northern part, but you can also see a lot: rays, eagle rays, octopus, sharks and many different fish. On the northern side of the island, the coral areas are large, the water is clearer. You can rarely see big fish, but there are a lot of reef sharks, sleeper sharks, squid. I also saw a turtle.

I am very grateful that they allowed us to stay in the room after check-out and wait for our departure by boat in comfort

The reception staff and concierge were fantastic and thats about it.
Definitely feel taken advantage of by Expedia on this stay.
Everything was old and broken and falling apart and not clean. From the showers to the bed linnen to the pool to the restaurants. Very disappointing. The swim up pool bar was a joke and wasn't even working. The upcharge for the pool cabana was not worth it since you recieved no service in them. The buffet was terrible all three meals were disgusting. The drinks were weak. No room service either. We were expecting a nice meduim luxury resort and it was 2 star at best. Wish i could get my money back. Oh and there are wild dogs that will steal your stuff off your porch! I have photos of the dirty beach bungalow if you want proof! Check out my google review on it. Oh and i broke my toe the first time getting into the derelict pool on a giant step. The view is unmatched however and there is some food snorkeling out front.

This propety can be summed up in a few words: Long-term underinvestment in maintenance. The beaches were covered in trash, the pool was downright unsafe-we witnessed an injury while there. We had the Premium beachfront Bure, but the pictures must have been taken before the ocean washed away the beach. There is now a sea wall with some dangerous rusted stairs leading down into the water, which wasso full of trash, you would not consider swimming in it anyway. The resort may have been amazing at some point in the past, but today it is really run-down. We had a dead lizard on the floor of our bathroom for 4 days, despite daily maid service until we removed it ourselves. Would not go back, would not recommend.

Overall the island was very satisfying and staff were very accommodating. The food has big portion for lunch and the buffet had great selections.
The only downfall i would say will be the flies. While i do understand that it is an island on its own, however when we were at the pool or having meal, we literally had to use one hand to just get the flies out of the way, this really was demotivated us in enjoying the meal .

Mana exceeded our expectations!

Was a bit weary booking here after reading mixed reviews.
But didnt need to be.

Although slightly tired in decor this resort is under new management.
They are investing to bring up the standard.

Half board included in the room and a huge variety of cuisine options for the fussy young and old.
Adults only pool.
The island for fans of survivior.

Good bang for buck if you like clean but enjoy hanging at the bach!

We will be back and bring family and friends next time.

The thing that brings me back to Mana is the people there. The list is long but Maddo, Eddie, Letia, Simi, Seru, and the amazing women who toil so hard to make your stay memorable will keep me coming back year after year. The property is probably due a details refresh. Little things like the pools at the base of the beach stairs not being full of water to rinse sand was noticeable. And the wages the staff are paid needs attention. Other than that this place is heaven.

The floor have gaps that enable insects to come in. The house cleaning service is poor. Towels have smell. I word rather pay more and stay at Castaway or Sheraton

I was quite disappointed with my recent experience at Mana. Many staff members seemed disengaged, reflecting in their lack of enthusiasm. Several guests I interacted with echoed similar sentiments. Regrettably, the property's condition appears to be deteriorating, and the snorkeling experience did not meet expectations. Having visited Mana on three occasions, it's evident that standards have notably declined. Compared to other Mananuca island resorts I've visited, this was the least satisfactory. The resort facilities are in subpar condition, suggesting a lack of maintenance or renovations by the owners. I would recommend exploring options like Mololo, Treasure, or Plantation for a more rewarding experience within a similar budget.

40th Anniversary.

An average resort but can be turned a exclusive and exotic resort. Main concern is the fly infestation during the day. I cannot see any control in place in the restaurant, bar or the pool area. I have been to many resorts but did not encounter this much flies.
Staff were friendly and I was impressed with the function held for the returnees. There is a need for staff to pay extra attention during Buffets in replenishing plates, glass and cutleries on time. I had to remind staff about 4 occasions. Rooms were nice and every amenities were working well. I liked the laid back village setting. Gardens needs improvement as it seems that not much effort is being done to improve this. Will consider coming back in 2025.

Mana has beautiful white sandy beaches and swimming is very refreshing relaxing and private from the beach front Bure however urgent attention to detail is needed to update and refurbish for us it was the best location and quietness. We definitely will be going back

First off, we read the reviews so we knew the hotel was going to be run-down and need some TLC. This was true, so keep that in mind. But also, you are not paying $2,000/night so keep your expectations in check! Our ocean-view suite was perfect for travelling with our 2 teenagers, as they had their own space downstairs, and we had our own space upstairs. The unit is VERY large and had excellent views of the ocean. At first, I was disappointed that we were on the South side of the island (where the pier is) as the pool is on the other side (it's a 5min walk, not that big of a deal). HOWEVER, we quickly realized that the snorkelling on the south was WAY better than the North, as there was next to no waves. The coral was amazing, and it was easy to get in/out right from your suite. The little bar there is great too, as we could get cold beer while we relaxed on the beach. This resort is cashless, so all charges (and I mean ALL including the little market store) are added to your room to pay at the end. This suited us very well. We did not opt for the meal plan, and I'm glad. We skipped meals due to jet lag and being out in the heat all day. Breakfast was excellent, lunch and dinner were okay - not great. However the fly's while you eat were horrible, and for one meal we got so fed up, we ended up taking our plates to our room to finish. The staff requested to have the restaurant sprayed, and the next day it was somewhat better. I would recommend, but know what you are getting.

Run down and short staffed, restaurants either closed or very poor choice food. Internet and activities at high extra costs. staff friendly however lots of conflicting information, re internet and towel collections, and even buffet dining options ceased half way through stay with very limited food choice in cafe ie same vegetarian pizza and risotto only option for our vegetarian for three lunches and dinners. Disappointed.

Staff trying very hard however you can’t turn a pigs ear into a silk purse.
Rooms very basic and lacking in maintenance as is the whole resort. Food was ok but there are not multiple restaurants as advertised- it is one restaurant with several different menus.
It appears to be run down and poorly managed.

We absolutely loved our week at Mana Island. Having never been to Fiji before, we had dreamt of beautiful white sand, sparkling clear water and incredible snorkelling just off the beach, and that was exactly what we got! That said, we arrived with realistic expectations post-covid, as we assumed that hotel maintenance would have suffered. We were really impressed to see all the work going on quietly in the background to develop new paths and features, none of which impacted the peacefulness of our holiday. Mana has the fantastic advantage of being a narrow island with lovely beaches on both the northern and southern sides, so you can always escape the prevailing weather. Even in the ‘off’ season, we swam for hours every day, and the snorkelling was brilliant. The southern beach was particularly sheltered and clear, and the variety of fish just a few metres off shore was stunning - captivating! The resort staff were - without exception - amazing! They were all so happy, friendly and helpful, and we loved them all. The meals were excellent (Do make sure you try the Kura menu and visit the range of restaurants, as it’s easy just to stay in the main restaurant). Our family loved the games room (pool table and table tennis) and all the water sports: snorkelling and kayaking are free and paddle-boarding very affordable. We also really enjoyed our massages and facials at the Spa. We will always remember this fabulous holiday, and would definitely return.

I think this property has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, many facilities were very old and broken including the rooms. For example the kitchen area behind the buffet was all broken and held up by wooden planks. I had seen a lot of things and was disappointed. I think a lot of these things can be updated and made safer for staff. The resort does not look like its photos online. Understand with covid this may of impacted updating the resort but by now i would have thought with the amount of people staying there and the cost we pay it would be good to look into this. The communication of front desk and concierge with customers was difficult to get what was required. Our villa was very clean but again very old. The outside of the villas are all worn down. I hope one day this resort gets a revamp and more staff put on to serve customers as it truly is on a beautiful island that deserves a visit from tourists!

The service at this resort was unacceptable. Whenever I needed assistance, I was met with rude and unhelpful staff (of course unless you tip them upfront).
The rooms were not up to standard and were in dire need of maintenance. Cracked floor, broken couches, non-operational lockers, no coffee table, leaking roof, broken windows….the list just goes on. The lack of basic amenities such as water and TV was also extremely disappointing.
The food at this resort was also a major letdown. It was poorly prepared and lacked consistency. You can order 2 serves of same dish and they both will look and taste different. I was extremely disappointed with the dining experience at this resort.
To make matters worse, my money was stolen from my room during my stay. When I reported this to the resort, they took no action and did not even investigate the matter. This lack of concern for the safety and well-being of their guests is completely unacceptable.
In conclusion, my experience at this resort was extremely disappointing. From the poor service and subpar rooms to the lack of amenities and pathetic food, this resort did not meet my expectations in any way. To top it all off, the resort's management showed a complete lack of concern when my money was stolen from my room. Stay away, your hard-earned money can do lot better, don’t waste on this resort. I would not recommend this resort to anyone based on my experience.

The place was nice but the loss of personal property was not acceptable. We were thinking all the staff were friendly, but unfortunately we could not find my son’s sunglasses after the room was cleaned. We actually bumped into the housekeeper when back to our room. And thought she was nice even leave us a big bottle of shampoo. But later on when we realised that the sunglasses were missing then we can sense that she felt guilty of taking our sunglasses. After reporting to the management we were told it was the second time in a couple of days time. Another customer lost her duty free purchases in her room. So be careful with your personal belongings when in Fiji. The place was nice but this unpleasant experience has ruined our holiday!

The first night room was horrible! Way too dirty and everything from last century! I understand because Mana island was the last RE-opened island in Fiji after Covid so the place is definitely needed renovations or repairs/maintenance! They’ve moved us to honeymoon suite the second day and it’s a big place but still out dated everything. Not enough lighting and some of them are broken! Facilities aren’t open fully yet like the chapel or some pool. Staffs are nice and helpful! The best thing I love here is their air conditioner! The dry mode dries everything!! The jet ski tour to sandbank was awesome! So is the handling fish tour! You can catch fish and take to their restaurant, chef cooks for you! This was the most delicious dish I’ve had in Fiji! Chef Raj is awesome!! Cool your own fish only charge $35 FJD up to 5kg! Many different kinds of fish you can catch, we chose the rock fish and snapper! Steamed with chef sauce! Absolutely recommend handling fish tour and cook your own fish! Family friendly place. **Watch out for huge bats flying around.

Where do I start. The rooms are so dated and disgusting it’s not funny. We have visited Mana 3 times before and geeze it has gone down hill since 2008. The maintenance on our 2 storey suite was beyond shocking with mould in bathrooms, furniture dirty, dodgy repairs in the room with holes and patch work everywhere and the level of cleanliness was a -10 as hair and sand grit on the floor. The cleaners are not provided with a vacuum and they use traditional brooms made out of coconut frond strands. This island needs a major refit compared to what it was like on our last visit. Staff are lovely and the beaches are great. The Overseas’s owners really need to look at this aspect of the resort and Improve the state of the resort if they want repeat guests.

The itemised billing has no prices on anything and they just put whatever on it. We got told $12 fjd for a drink and on check out it was $18 fjd. The prices on the receipts are so different to what you are told. I didn’t get anywhere with the staff and just ended up paying it as they came up with every excuse for it.

I would not recommend this island to anyone expecting a clean and presentable room.

Liked having access to two different shores.
Bures were nice. However, no hot water and freezer in fridge didn’t work.
Pricing for food and activities were too expensive! The Beach restaurant menu at $150FDwas overpriced. Lobster was dry and overcooked.
$250FD for a snorkel trip was ridiculous.
Mana should subsidize boat trip to get to their resort! $157FD one way is unacceptable. Fiji tourism needs to change that.
