The staff were nice and helpful. The rooms are ran down. The amenities on the island are ran down. The food was edible but not great. The snorkeling off the back side of the island was good. I went to scuba dive and after arriving I found that the dive shop was open but that they don’t offer diving. They gave me a number to call for a dive shop in Nadi that wanted to charge me $375 to dive

Our room was lovely, clean and spacious, beautiful views.
Unfortunately the water was turned off for large chunks of the day and the toilet didn't refill, had to use a bucket of water to flush. It wasn't too much of a problem but the communication about it could be better.
The staff were friendly and kind, couldn't fault their enthusiasm, but a little disorganised when it came to excursions, we asked to go to Cloud 9 but spent two hours waiting past the time they said to be ready while they organised the trip, as a consequence we missed out on time there and wasted a proportion of our day.
Buffet food and breakfast was disappointing but the a la carte and concession restaurants were good. We enjoyed the teppenyaki and the sunset meal.
The turtles were a suprise and a treat, we enjoyed learning about their conservation efforts.
Amenities were good. Lots of activities during the day and evening if that's your interest.

Maybe our favourite place of our honeymoon! Keep in mind it’s a very small island and this is not going to be your typical 4-5 star accommodation like you’d find on bigger islands or pricey spots. However, the energy and feeling of treasure island is unmatched. The staff became our best friends and showed us so much love. The beach, hammocks, crystal water, kayaks, sandbanks, quiet, snorkelling, staff, and beauty of Fiji were what made us fall in love. We stayed 7 nights and by the 5/6 night we were getting ready to move on because of the firmer bed and similar food menu daily which was decent but not amazing. But we are pretty easy going and like I said, if you enjoy the beach and snorkelling and just a beautiful beachy laid back quiet spot, this is it.
They often have small children and families and school groups as we learned. Our first 3 nights were a dream because it was super quiet. I’d say 2-4 nights is probably best for most people !

We loved the atmosphere, the staff and the peace and quiet. Its a beautiful place with wonderful people who become more like family than just staff running the resort.
Some recommendations: If you want to go off-island or book in for the spa you need to make sure you book in advance.
It is Fiji Time on Nakelo Treasure Island, so accept this and you'll have a fantastic experience. If you have high expectations for your accomodation (needs some updating) or service 'right this minute' then this is not for you, but the shower was always hot, the room was always cool and the view from our room was to die for. We loved it!

Beautiful island with magical sunsets. Unfortunately, that's where it stops. Food is terrible (although the chef & menu changed on the last 2 days and it improved dramatically), continental breakfast is a joke, wifi non existent, over-priced menu and bar, pool is sea water, tap water undrinkable, resort is really run down, rooms require maintenance, kitchen continually ran out of food, no shop or ability to buy snacks.
No ability to island hop either as its the last island on the run - you can go to another island, but then can't get back....unless I completely missed how to do it!
I think Henry does the best he can with what he has at his disposal and the staff are all friendly, but it's just not up to par for the coin they are taking.
It was good to chill out, but overall a big disappointment.

If you know what you’re in for then it’s great!

Treasure Island has amazing views and snorkelling opportunities. The turtle rehab on the island is also cool. If you’ve come to relax and unplug this is the place. We enjoyed our stay. Being planners, wifi was advertised (I had a bit of work to do) but it was not available. But if you are happy purchasing data then that works just fine.

We also came here specifically for the FUN DivING advertised on the website, hotels.com and Instagram, only to be informed there is no longer diving available at the resort. There is no real introduction to the resort and where things are located, but it is small, so easy to figure out.

If you are coming for tennis, we never located the rackets and the courts were run down.

The rooms are a little dated but honestly all you need, plus they are perfectly located on the beach. The AC in our room was leaking and made sounds that woke us up the first two nights so we decided to sleep without it. Some small repairs would really improve the quality of the room.

Final downside were the prices of food. The minimum cost of a dish was $50NZD, but the quality was not consistent and overpriced for what it was. If it was slightly cheaper then this would have been less disappointing.

A beautiful island with lots to do, especially for the kids. Our 7 year old loved everything the island had to offer. The staff were absolutely amazing and helpful with everything. Food was a little on the pricey side but considering what it takes for it get to the island and their running costs for a remote island as such, it is understandable. It was very much the family vibe we were after and I’m glad we chose Treasure Island. Vinaka!

Treasure Island was a real treat for us on our trip to Fiji. The staff and really friendly and inviting, also helpful and really chill to talk to, you can tell that they have a passion for what they do. The rooms are nice and spacious.
I do think that the toilet room and the shower in the room could have been cleaned a bit better, but wasn't too bad. I also wish that when we went kayaking, the staff would help us to carry the kayaks to the ocean, they are placed quite far up on the beach and 2 not so strong girls trying to haul heavy kayaks down the beach wasn't the best since the guy watching the store was just sitting in his chair talking to another staff member. Other than that we had a nice experience.

Remember you are holidaying somewhere in the south pacific, on a remote island.. sure the facilities are not t star, but the value for money overall with the acivites and location make this an excellent option.
The staff are so friendly and helpful, and the pool and dining areas are more than you need. We had a terrific stay at this island for 9 nights participating in all daily activities. The food is far better than previous reviews, and the reefs around the island are magical for snorkling.
A great value for money experience, but the only negative is no wifi in rooms, which i guess promotes you to spend time at the reception, pool, bar and restaurants area to get online.
You will enjoy the location and holiday, and leave wanting to return.

The staff here are just fantastic!! They make your stay with joyful greetings every time you see them. We can’t say enough about how well each staff member treated us. The property does need some upgrades and could use an infusion of money for repairs and building maintenance. This island resort is owned by the village so is still trying to come back from years of Covid.

A true paradise

A beautiful location, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, fun activities and a relaxing stay. The accommodations were quite nice and comfortable, with air conditioning for a restful sleep. The food option and menu was good, not remarkable. It lacked a little variety after 4 days, but not nearly as poor as the other reviews have stated.

We (family of 4) were there first week of April and it was as if we had the island to ourselves, being 1 of 4 groups on the island. I would highly recommend these dates.

The snorkeling gear was a little beat up, but we had a remarkable time with unbelievable colors, fish and multiple locations during the \"fish feeding\" daily excursion.

We will certainly return to this island. It also is worth noting this island and resort are owned and operated by Fijians, not a foreign company or persons.

The Nakelo Resort was absolutely fantastic and surprised us with so many things to do. From going on a daily boat trip to feed the fish and snorkel, to daily activities like cocktail making and feeding turtles to mini golf and tepanyaki it was the perfect place to stay with little ones. We had an amazing time and all the staff were super friendly and hospitable

Amazing time on treasure Bula!!!. The staff were so welcoming and we had so much fun each day and night with the activities. The kids club and Liz were awesome looking after our Alyssa. Very relaxing by the pool and incredible views of ocean and neighbouring islands. We enjoyed the mini golf competions each day and Henry’s guitar music sing alongs plus the Vengaboys dancing. Room was nice and clean just sleep without the aircon if you can manage it. Great experience perfect for families. Vinaka treasure we will be back

It was an absolute pleasure to stay here. The staff were fantastic, the food options were plentiful and the bliss of stepping out onto white sand with surrounding reefs. This coupled with the kids club, turtle sanctuary, activities and service made the stay amazing! Highly recommended!

Treasure island you took my families heart it was absolutely amazing! We had the best time with our little family and they looked after our little 2yr old daughter like it was one of theirs, which made us feel really safe and loved. Me and my partner came for a anniversary, at first we had problems getting to the island and transportation is limited and on arrival we didn't feel welcomed. The room was good but the toilet was so dirty as it had stains on it. The prices was too expensive and wasn't worth the value.

Such a beautiful island we called home for a week. People are warm & welcoming. Staff are brilliant & the activities are fun for kids and adults. Henry's welcome song to fijian language class , to Ikes turtle & ignuana feed & crab hunting so many fun things to do. The water is amazing to snorkel and see the beautiful fishand corals. Everything is served with a smile.

Whilst there are loads of positives , I think food is a major challenge & must be improved on. Also minor maintenance would be great to spruce up the place.

The best stay at Treasure Island! The staff are very friendly and adhesions to all needs. The island is perfect for friends, families and couples. Water sports was available all day, you could use the paddle boards, kayaks, catamaran and there is also snorkelling available at all times without extra cost. Breakfast was lovely, night time meal options were good and drinks also. We really enjoyed our time on the island and could have easily stayed for up to a week as our 2 nights and 3 days was not long enough! Liz was great taking us snorkelling for the first time and very attentive and helpful. Transport to and from the island was made easy by the resort. Couldn’t fault our stay at all.

We had previously been to the Island 9 years ago and with the recent reviews we were a little hesitant going again with young children. However, we had an amazing time spending the last 6 days on the island. The beachfront bures were large and recently renovated. The proximity to the beach was also extremely convenient. The kids had a great time at Kids Club and the activities were very engaging for their ages. For an island there were a range of options from buffet, al a carte or teppanyaki. The night time activities ranging from the Kava ceremony to the traditional song and dance to the crab races were very special for all ages. Overall the staff were very friendly, personable & made us feel extremely welcome. Would definitely go back there.

The resort was clean, though could do with some work/better care in some areas such as the mini golf & tennis court. Our Bure was spacious and right on the beach. The hotel had decorated it beautifully for our honeymoon. Snorkel equipment and kayaks to rent for free everyday. Can go out fish feeding every morning and have the opportunity to jump off the boat and snorkel around, or back to shore if you fancy! I did this and it was incredible. There is a turtle sanctuary on the island, tiny baby turtles which are fed every morning and cared for. The staff are friendly and laid back. We had a lovely snorkelling experience organised by Wassy, with Bill and Nathan, they were kind and accommodating. One of the highlights of our stay was our Teppenyaki night. Book this a day or so in advance, it’s $100pp, but really worth doing…it’s the only decent food we had… our chef, Biss and waiter, Stephen, were accommodating, fun and professional. Gave us an excellent experience. Unfortunately the one big negative (which was saved slightly by above experience) was the food. Breakfast is basic. Get there early or it’s all pretty bad. Asked for Soy milk which was curdled. Food menu isn’t bad for variety or price however terrible quality, with even the most basic of dishes being pretty bad. We had just 1 decent meal from the menu in our 3 days there. Such a shame as the resort is beautiful and still Fiji owned. Hope the food improves and then we will be back!

Horrible location if you’re visiting Fiji for vacation. Go somewhere else. It’s run down and like a rustic summer camp place. The beach is nice but the reef is dead. Get the Yasawa flyer and go to the islands where the reef is alive. Flies and bad food. The buffet was dry and cold for $60 fjd. The staff forgot to book outings for several people. I asked some Australians if they thought it was run down or if I was being a picky American. They said even their kids were shocked that their vacation place was so run down. Go to islands away from Nadi. Even Serenity island is filled with flies and the service is slow. The view from the ocean bure is nice, but not worth $400 usd when you can the same view two hours by boat on a living reef without flies for $100 usd.

We treasured every moment of our stay. Bure was spacious and clean with both AC and a ceiling fan. Bed was comfortable. Ocean view just gorgeous. All staff were kind and welcoming. We had one of the best massages ever. We were always greeted with smiles. Many activities planned daily. Island is beautiful.

A great resort if you are traveling with a young family. We were there with teens and despite the endless snorkeling they were ready for a new adventure after day 3. 7 days were too long in hindsight but we did settle into a comfortable routine.

Potentially not a great place to stay if you have food allergies. I am celiac and I really struggled to get a meal options. The buffet did have vegetable options but not much protein options and I found it difficult to convey how desperate I was just to have a decent meal every couple of days.

I did take a small toaster and GF bread with me and was so thankful that I did.

The snorkeling is good and if you swim out to the reef drop off you will see some stunning coral, fish, sea creatures. We saw a turtle one day and a large reef shark another day.

Tennis and mini golf are free to use whenever, and so are the Islands kayaks.

My teenage daughter and I did most of the activities (basket weaving, crab racing, coconut picking, lei making, sulu tying etc). The resort activities staff are really good at getting people organized and making it fun.

We partook in the 1/2 price happy hour each night and even joined the cocktail making class.

The island is a beeeding home to a local turtle and the island has a sanctuary for hatchlings to ensure they will survive when released.

We also enjoyed local red headed parrots, large fruit bats, the odd gecko and skink and the flightless banded rail (birds)

Had a very relaxing enjoyable stay in July, highlights being the fabulous beach, excellent snorkelling and fab massages at the spa. A very relaxed resort with fantastic staff who epitomise Fijian friendliness. Manager Henry is great and his obvious “lead by example” leadership showing through in the way the staff operate.
The rooms are comfortable and well serviced daily. There are daily activities for old & young. The island breeds Hawksbill Turtles and iguana’s and there is lots of colourful birdlife, as well as fruit bats.
Great cocktails at Happy Hour which don't skimp on the important part! The food was good “pub grub” type meals with a local flavour to them and the Teppanyaki dinner option is great fun. (Some reviews unfairly bag the food). Waiting staff Millie and Atelini deserve a special mention. The kitchen team were great when we caught a fish and served up a delicious dinner of kokoda and grilled fish steaks for 6 of us.
Yes, the resort infrastructure has seen better days but there are upgrades happening and it doesn’t pretend to be anything higher than its 3.5 star rating. If you want 5 star then pay for it and go somewhere else rather than expecting it at this resort. Good value for money and $4000 cheaper (over a week) than a 5 star island resort.
A fab week of sun, snorkelling, reading, smiles, laughs, relaxation and friendly banter with staff and other guests alike. We will always remember our week at Treasure island and will be back again in the future!

One of the worst places we have stayed. Left two days early and should have left the day we arrived!

The staff are warm and friendly, the room was clean and well appointed. The reef for snorkeling is beautiful and a calm beach for the kids but that’s about all the positives I could possibly find.

The food is on the verge of being not even consumable for animals. My husband got violently I’ll on day two after having the seafood. Good service was terribly slow. Often food arrived cold and undercooked. I think the French fries that came with my sons order were never cooked and just served frozen.
Like I stated we left two days early without requesting a refund. Management clearly doesn’t care if their resort closes. They say they are working on it but clearly with as many bad reviews for over a year they don’t care.
We were not the only ones to leave early in fact on the boat ride home everyone was leaving early and totally disappointed and disgusted at the conditions of what should have been a fantastic holiday.

Fantastic small tropical resort island perfect for any travelers. We were a family of 4 with teenage boys. The water sports included snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and others. Tennis and mini golf were daily fun competitions. We were so glad we made reservations for the special tempenyaki dinner on the slow Monday night it is a must do!!! Also they have fire dancing on Saturday night which was awesome to see. So many daily activities that every day was a different fun experience.

I am a New Yorker and well-travelled, but this was my first trip to Fiji.
This resort reminded me of the Bahamas 30 years ago. The place is very family friendly and if you have children 7 to 12 they will love running around the island. It is super safe. Many nice Aussie families with lovely children. The beach is gorgeous. The rooms are what they are, but the shower pressure is good. The over all grounds are nice and they rack the leaves everyday with lots of hammocks and views of the ocean. Very relaxing. We stayed for 6 nights which was plenty.
The food is REALLT mediocre, which after reading the reviews is what I expected. Basically, you try to figure out what to eat as best you can so you don't starve. Most of it is pretty bad. Service is terrible at meal times. We waited 2 hours for am omelette one morning and when it showed up it was scrabble eggs. I wish they would just let me into the kitchen. LOL.
Recreation: There were two jet skies neither worked and were old. There was a jet ski group I saw go out that was guided that came from somewhere else. So there is some sort of guided jet ski experience you can arrange. I arranged for a boat to take us to Cloud 9, the floating bar (a super fun thing to do) but they forgot so when we showed up they and to move the day. Also a minimum of 4 must go and no one signed up so I paid for 4 people and drag two young women along with us, my treat. Not a big deal but \"classic\" service at this resort. Welcome to Fiji.

This is not the authentic Fiji experience. False advertising.
I have lots of true current pictures I’d like to share. Including mould on pillows, cockroaches crawling in the kitchen, all the beach huts are broken, food is terrible because kitchen has very little equipment working, how does a resort run out of food. So many hazards the staff and tourists are at high risk.This resort is sublet independent out sourced to other companies.
This is not a staffing issue this is a management issue. So many people landed on this island and canceled their bookings to leave immediately.
Management is a huge problem very reactive not proactive. He said he is happy with the way the resort is. How sad this person does not represent Fiji standard at all.
Very run down resort. Staff are beautiful very over worked.

I booked a Premium Beach Front Bure with a checkin time of 2:00pm. We arrived at the Island at 5pm and tried to check in and were told that our Room was not ready. We waited almost an hour before our room was cleaned and made ready. We walked into a wet floor, toilet smelled of sewer, toilet flash was broken, coffee pot and ice bucket were rusted. Did not get the room i booked based on talking to other guests that had booked the same room and i was able to see their rooms. This was very disappointing and would never recommend Treasurer Island resort.

Been to this property many times and always enjoyed myself and this time found the resort in massive disrepair all the beach cabanas are falling down , Burn offs over night on the beach of unwanted items And pool cloudy
Overal disappointed to see this resort go down hill

The island itself is great and the staff are very friendly. The bedrooms were good and clean. Our main issue was the food and cleanliness of plates etc and service.

I wanted to give this resort a good rating, being locally owned but they let themselves down in terms of food.
Food is repetitive which is OK, food ordered from the menu is slow. One night we waited 1.5 hours for dinner and the plate was very dirty (food on the bottom and grease on the top surface). I sent it back and went without as it was so late and dirty plates are inexcusable really.

You have to ask for spoons, glasses, cups, plates etc every breakfast. The apple/custard Danishes are yummy at breakfast and the fresh fruit is great.

Favourite thing was the snorkeling and the Teppanyaki dinner that only seats 8, so you need to book. That was tasty and fun.

The resort itself needs work,a bit run down.
Overall we had a fun time but for the price and the dodgy tummies that 4/8 in our party ended up with I wouldn't go back. Transfers are also expensive if your flights are at odd times. 1250 ish Fijian , so around 900 NZD for 4.

Treasure Island is quite small, so you are always in the resort. However, we scored a hut that was on the quiet side of the island, close to the water, and which was spacious and comfortable. It's an older resort and there are areas that could do with some love, but it was still beautiful, and the kids had a fun time snorkelling and swimming, and the grownups read and slept in hammocks. The staff were friendly and kind, and super quick to help out if something needed attending to. The only downside was waiting on food orders, and there could have been a bit more range in the menu. Food is expensive there for what you get. The best food was the local dishes - fish and coconut cream - the chips were awful, the wedges were great! The facilities need some development - the pool area is run down, and the restaurant needs a proper pergola rather than tent-style marquees. We scored tables out of the main area which was great as mealtimes could be super noisy with all the young children and the band playing! All in all, we had a good visit, but might find a bigger island if we go back to Fiji.

The cleaning and hygiene is a concern with everything very dirty especially in the dinning area
Overall this was really disappointing as the standard of this resort had been misrepresented

We had the most wonderful stay on Treasure Island. The island is so beautiful and the staff wonderful, you are made to feel special the moment you walk into the island. For us, the most amazing part of our stay was the ability to walk off the white sandy beach, swim out in the crystal water about 50m to see the most magical, colourful reef. Snorkelling is better than anywhere we have ever been.

I am so happy we chose to stay on Treasure Island. The island is beautiful, accommodation was great with the beach only a few steps away, and the staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Also enjoyed the food, drinks and fun activities to join in on. Can’t wait to go back!

Amazing family experience

We were so welcomed. Henry - you are amazing. The entire Treasure Island clan made our trip. Our kids were treated awesome and the room was very clean and comfortable. We felt adopted by the staff. The teppanyaki dinner with Biss and Panama we will never forget.

From our welcome to our farewell we were treated with such generosity and friendliness. Fresh big rooms, comfortable beds.

Spectacular views and not to mention stunning coral reef right off the beach. Definitely a place to stay to switch off and enjoy time out.

Only improvements would be a wider menu range and a better stocked shop for snacks/day supplies etc.

The unlimited access to water sports activities made our stay so enjoyable. Kayaks/paddles boards and snorkeling equipment always available. Also daily fish feeding and turtle nursery such a highlight. Close to 200 newly hatched turtles that we could visit every day.

Treasure island is the highlight of our trip. What a beautiful and peaceful place too be, a real paradise compare to some well known resort on the mainland.
The water is so inviting and lots of good spots for snorcling. They take you out everyday for fish feeding n you can jump in the water as well. Not to mention other island activities, you feel you re at home.
We also kayaked (45min depending on weather) to the nearby island beachcomber another life experience for my family.
The staff in the resort are always friendly and some of them has very good story to offer.
The room is not comparable to five star hotels, but nice and clean, beds are comfy.
We loved this place and will definitely go back.
One thing is that the food options are limited and they are not that great.

The staff was lovely, friendly. The child care service was great and kids club was great. Our room was clean on arrival. What we didnt like was in the womens public bathroom locks are broken, the public microwave by the restaurant was extremely dirty. The property looks run down, landscaping poor. For the food it was limited. When we ordered a la carte there was 5 out of 10 things not available. Pricing was not always available and we later learned that certain things were very expensive. We werent able to leave the property to visit other locations due to mininum requirement of atleast 4 abd 6 people needed to book excursions. Excursions are not advertised. And also we werent given other options and later learned we could take the south sea cruise to some of these places we wanted to visit. Only one pool. Defitinelty not a place for single couples as the pool is small and you are sharing with children. I would only return here for the kids club and meme services if no where else to go.

This is not e resort. The facilities are zero. The condition of this place is appalling. There are nails and screws sticking on the deck (many guest ripped their feet open), no electricity during many times a day, no water during many times a day (i was stuck twice in shower without water), food is terrible (imagine they make pizzas with ketchup instead of tomato base), worst food in Fiji, waited 4 days to go snorkeling and everytime there was a problem with the boat, jetski advertised but not available, burning of wood making air unbreathable (on 1 day ambers were flying in wind endangering everyone there), even staff complaining about the state of the resort. It’s a shame this property should be advertised and offered to people. I checked out 4 days earlier for these reasons and they didn’t provide a refund. Rip-off!

- NYE was fine, they had some fireworks, countdown, and live music
- Buffet ($60 pp) was fine
- Some of the staff are very friendly, efficient, and polite
- Staff did encourage guests to participate in nightly entertainment by the staff (singing/dancing/ceremonies)
- The water was pretty/snorkelling was lovely

Cons
- Faulty aircon/we complained so they changed our room
- No wifi, no tvs, or reception phone in the rooms. If you need something, you need to walk to reception.
-Smelly towels
-Poor communication between staff-they to charge us an extra $1000 for a day trip we had paid for. Ask for receipts for everything so that you have evidence of what you paid for.
- Boat transfers and taxi transfers very expensive - even when we negotiated- 140pp making it impractical to island hop.
- Lunch /dinner menu was the same all 8 days we stayed (25/12 to 1/1) - food was quite bland and chips always tasted like they were left overs
- Only one restaurant - extremely slow service, you have to keep asking them for an update every 10 mins or so
- There was a tepinyaki and bbq that you could book but it’s was over $100pp and often booked out
-Only 1 functional pool area for both adults and kids.
- Main Beach had very painful rocks. Beach on the other side was very dirty (rubbish/sticks/rocks).
- No entertainment/music past 9pm

Love the place for its location and access to water activities. Snorkeling is easy and you see fish within a few meters.
The staff are super friendly and always eager to please.

Treasure Island is beautiful. Rooms were clean with comfortable beds and the view is amazing. Family enjoyed free kayaking and snorkeling. Only issue was ladies at reception. They never smile and make you feel welcomed and they never respond to any emails. Big shout out to Henry for being so kind and welcoming!.

The room was beautiful and comfortable. The food was just ok, and very expensive for what we ordered compared to the other resorts. Make sure you check your bill! I had someone else’s dinner and drinks (over $100 extra) on my bill at check out… and we were only there for one night and one meal!

This is one of the few locally owned resorts in Fiji and you can tell. They take pride in it and are super welcoming.

The island is quite small which is lovely as you feel right away from it all. Nice beach with some great snorkeling and other things to do.

We had the more expensive room and it was perfect. Not sure about others but I imagine they are good too.

We had a newly renovated room and this was great. Our cleaner was the loveliest person on the island. Sadly that’s where the enjoyment stopped. The rest of the property amenities are in a very poor state. No working washing machines. Restaurant toilets a terrible state (smelly and water everywhere).
Water toys ok but given covid I’m not sure of snorkel and mask cleanliness. They were soaking in water but not sanitizer.
Staff not that interested in creating work for themselves. Didn’t put breakfast menus out (hid them it seemed). So it appeared only the breakfast buffet was available.
Dinner buffet not worth the $70 best to order from the menu although the regularly change the prices. Sometimes the pizza was $23 and other times it was $36 but it was exactly the same one.
Internet extremely poor, worked on 2 occasions over 4 days for about 30 mins in public area otherwise zilch.

Beautiful beach and stuff for the kids to do(kayak, snorkling, crab hunt, pool, mini-golf, swimming,tennis) and friendly staff. Be careful using the Mamanuca Express for your transfer as they had us waiting at the port for three hours ( saying 20 mins wait and then trying to recommend we buy another taxi boat trf at our own cost) and also a 30 mins on arrival at the airport. Staff at the resort itself were super friendly. All in all, an amazing time.

Huge gap between expectations & reality. More like camping (not glamping) then a luxury resort. Resort has not recovered from Covid but can see the potential. Overall, my family had an enjoyable & relaxing stay even with the many problems. Some of theses are:

1. Run down rooms with AC and plumbing issues - did not enjoy the cold shower - poor quality linens & some with stains
2. Limited food opts: no vegetarian or keto choices - only Instant coffee & poor quality. Food takes a looong time if not eating from the buffet. Food & drinks are very expensive & there are no other options on the island.
3. Very few activities- ex: only 1 jet ski available to rent
4. Incorrect bill - staff fixed but was initially over charged by $800
5. Frequent power cuts
6. Pool green & not swim able
7. Spa expensive & service disappointing
8. Only store on island is very poorly stocked
9. No wifi in rooms
10. Not value for $$; paid luxury rates for at best 2 star quality

Positives: great kids club, beautiful beach, nice snorkelling, and staff tried to remedy problems

Staff are warm & friendly. Hope they recover and bring resort up to standards. Would not recommend if wanting a luxury experience. Beautiful location but after 3 days was ready to go home.

Dump in Paradise!
No words can describe how genuinely bad this resort is. Actually I wouldn’t call it a resort, I would call it a floating rubbish dump. Expedia describes this “dump” as a luxury island with fantastic facilities in paradise. Yes the surrounding ocean is beautiful, but that’s where it all stops. For close to $500 Australian a night you would expect some basic amenities and facilities, what we got was a hahahaha, massive joke! Why you ask? Here’s why;
- Disgusting unclean rooms and facilities.
-Power that cuts in and out throughout the day as someone turns the generator switch back on every hour.
-A toilet that has not been cleaned in 7 years with remains to prove it.
-An aircon, or so we thought. It had no remote and was set on 24. Although it acted more as a heater so we turned it off at the wall.
-Apparently 4 restaurants to pick from. We only seen one area you could describe as a restaurant. Although it severed a hefty $50 Australian buffet that consisted of bolognaise, sausages and bread rolls each night. The bread rolls were good tho, I give them a 5 for that!
-A green swimming pool that I wouldn’t go near.
-Run down and broken facilities and equipment. It should not be standing!
-Wifi. Well apparently you get wifi but it works only In the dining area and it runs occasionally at 1984 speeds if at all.
-You order 5 times to get that drink you ordered the 1st time, and it’s still not what you ordered!
-1 towel for 4 days. That doesn’t dry.

The beach & island are idyllic & very natural & even when near capacity, it’s not crowded - great for unwinding. the accomodation rustic, clean and comfortable with aircon. Fabulous weather & great snorkling, cute turtles and iguanas.
Sadly, many facilities/services/eating options listed on the website are still not available post Covid (eg, cafe/2 restaurants & many water sports/leisure activities.)the resort is severely understaffed. The closures/unavailable services etc…should have been flagged on Website (like many other hotels & resort so visitors understand what is or isn’t available before they book and expectations are managed- there were many disappointed guests when we visited. check before you book.
There was only one restaurant (alacarte or buffet) which is open at set times and the alacarte dinner was v poor & typically required a 45mins -1.5 hrs wait from ordering.However, special “private”BBQ or Teppanyaki option were fabulous & the chefs were entertaining- but not feasible to book this every night.
understaffing meant that the service was haphazard and the staff were overworked eg the ladies that cleaned the rooms were wonderful and cheerful, but we had no towels or water for 3 consecutive days until we had asked various people each day inc reception 3-4 times. It just got forgotten.
Mixed feelings about our stay:idyllic & charming- but currently misdescribed and understaffed-booked & paid for a “renovated deluxe seaview”: got unrenovated basic seaview

This is a very run down resort that falsely claims amenity that it just doesn’t offer.

The pool is full of algae - there’s green scum on the pool walls growing out maybe an inch. Our whole family was itchy after the one time we went in - two broke out in head to toe rash and our bathers smelled really foul. Do not use!!!

There is one restaurant that offers an offensively expensive buffet for $80FJD pp. I’ve eaten better on school camp - cold, unappetising soggy chips, over-cooked veg and “salad” plates involving a single ingredient (tomato salad = cut up tomatoes, cucumber salad = sliced cucumber)
There is a daily menu but many days the 2 choices on that were absolutely unappealing. Lunch is the same every single day. It takes about 20 minutes to get anyone to take your order and then maybe another 30 to get the drinks and up to an hour for food to arrive. Then it isn’t even good food!!
We didn’t know the buffet was so expensive - it’s not listed anywhere.

Really nice fresh baked bread for breakfast was the sole highlight.
They have a teppanyaki grill too - separate booking and only seats 8 so not an option for every day. Also very expensive.

They offer snorkelling equipment but it’s very old. It’s hard to get the mask to seal and the life vests are all very worn and faulty. Also if you don’t get in early there isn’t enough for everyone.

They feed fish bread and keep sea turtles in small concrete ponds.

Island itself is stunning.
