This hotel looks like it’s going to be quite a “rustic” looking hotel until you move out of the car park area and walk along the passage to reception. The hotel consists of garden rooms and villas dotted along the coast line and has very good views. The pool area is screened off by palm trees and greenery. The rooms are spacious and the villas have their own plunge pools. The bar and restaurant areas are good with plenty of seating and the food is good.

An older resort in need of upgrades, however the dining experience with the show on Saturday night was the best we experienced through our many stays in Fiji. We stayed in a Bure room and the bathroom is in serious need of upgrades. The hot water system is a hit or a miss and the site requires you to write down your credit card number at check in.

This is the ultimate Fijian experience. Away from Western style resorts this was Fijian in appearance and relationships. Staff are genuinely friendly. The buildings are covered by lush trees and gardens. It's the ultimate kick back and relax resort where you can just laze by the pool. Dinners at night were under a canopy of clear skies and fairy lights on sand outside. Breakfast was generous and varied. Eating there was cheap cheap cheap. The only downside is the flies at the pool and mosquitoes so bring the Aerogard.

Awesome, friendly and accommodating staff.
Great affordable food and drinks with a great selection of both. Good breakfast selection (continental and off the menu cooked breakfast).
Lovely, well kept, established gardens with a great pool and surrounding area.
A very authentic Fijian experience and would highly recommend if that's what you're after.
The rooms/accommodation, whilst not 5* are very spacious and clean with air-conditioning and fans. Daily room service was impeccable.
Perfect for an intimate or large celebration with a perfect function room and private outdoor area.
Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed a couple of nights here. The staff were excellent and very welcoming. We stayed in one of the beachfront villas with a private pool. It was a little tired, but a really good space with the ability to self cater. The outlook was superb, the pool lovely, very private and good value. The location is a little out of the way, and a different kind of holiday compared to the busy Denarau style resorts, but in my opinion, preferable.

We stayed here for three days at a villa. Our own pool was so luxurious. The privacy was great. Washing machine on site was a bonus. Food was good. Entertainment at night was so memorable. Sunset boat trip. Free use of snorkeling equipment to look at the reef just offshore. Attentive staff. No complaints. Great massage and complementary foot massage

Breakfast continental was very poor, cereals, bit of fruit, bread & pastries. No cold meats, cheese, nuts etc. I ordered the eggs Benedict & it was if they had used 1/2 muffin & cut it again, some very frizzled bacon, eggs were cold, presentation very poor.

We were very pleased with our stay from start to finish. We were greeted with a Big Bula and Smile and treated like family immediately. Everyone there was so nice & helpful. The property and room are comfortable and amenities perfect. We did take a day trip out of port Denaru booked by the Activites desk /Rosies on the property and it was a perfect day. The evening dinner were fun to attend. We will definitely be staying again the next time in Fiji.

It was a nice stay here but not necessarily “walk out of your room and into the water” especially at low tide. Not their fault of course so still 5 stars. As with my other stay, the staff was incredibly friendly and the warrior dance night was so fun. Beautiful sunsets and the food was pretty good. No gym here also.

We absolutely loved our time here. We stayed in a beachfront villa and our kids LOVED having a private pool, and I loved the beachfront hammock. The villa is a great design, spacious with two large bathrooms, the outdoor shower was a great feature. Having a washing machine and dryer was also incredibly useful. Basic kitchen (no oven). Really good aircon. The resort was relaxed and the staff were so lovely and welcoming. Breakfast highlights were fresh watermelon and delicious freshly baked pastries. The restaurant and bar on site had a good selection and was reasonably priced, food safety seemed high as we had no issues (nor did other guests we spoke to). The resort pool was also great - large and surrounded by lush tropical garden and we never had any trouble getting loungers. We didn't use the kids club as our kids preferred to stay with us. They organized a few daily activities (e.g. ice cream eating comp, fish feeding) and there were kayaks on site you could use. They organized day trips (for a fee) to nearby islands, where the beaches are a lot clearer and have snorkelling. There was evening entertainment a few nights a week, one with fire dancing. The restaurant looked beautiful at night, and the marina next door also looks very attractive (and a good restaurant there also). Being on the mainland meant we could easily drive to other activities and shops. It's not five star but felt local and authentic. I'd love to go again!!

The staff were friendly, and the service was fast and efficient, making our stay very comfortable. The location was incredibly convenient, with easy access to everything we needed. Our room was clean, and housekeeping did a great job maintaining it daily.

One of the highlights was the lovely beach and swimming pool right in front of our private villa—it felt very relaxing and exclusive. The only downside was that the room didn’t include plates or utensils, which would have made the stay even more convenient.
The food at the hotel was amazing, with a great menu that was both affordable and delicious. Breakfast was especially enjoyable, offering plenty of tasty options to start the day. The complimentary drinks on Thursday were a lovely touch, and I especially loved the Bahama Mama cocktail. Service throughout was excellent, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
A big thank you to the staff at First Landing for making our stay so memorable and wonderful. Their hospitality truly stood out, and we would definitely recommend this place to others. The security was also excellent—we felt completely safe leaving our belongings in the hotel and had real peace of mind throughout our stay.

The staff at the restaurant were lovely. We were only there one night and in the older beach front Bure's. These are 25 yrs old appx so great for budget / back packers. Old mattress but everything else there that we needed and no TV. The newer bures/apartments may have more. Taxi was $45 Fiji from the Airport - we were told $90 by reception to return to Denarau Island. We got it for $80 direct with the driver. So ask and negotiate. Also I asked for clarification with reception and I don't think they spoke English or didnt understand. Pictures are legit - large bathroom, good sized bedroom for 3 of us. I knew we were on our way to Sofitel so this was a stop over only and I was attracted to the ocean side Bure.

This is a beautiful location with extremely welcoming staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Breakfast was provided with many options all served with generous portions. The air conditioning turned a very warm room to a lovely cooled environment within minutes of putting on. Overall we would thoroughly recommend this location if you want a quiet and relaxed holiday. We stayed in the 2 bedroom beach front villa which was beautiful sunsets, clean and comfortable rooms and amenities. The air con in our master room was leaking but we just let the air con from living room flow through with no problems.
Our room was not ready and had to wait at bar till 3ish but they were accommodating in allowing a late check out to make up for that which worked well for us going to airport later that afternoon
House keeping and restaurant/bar staff are amazing - so friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed the dinner and entertainment- food was delicious, we had all the curries and whole steamed fish + dessert, very satisfying and a good last meal on our holiday. Serenading band are very good too - lovely voices to soothe the soul 😍 Vinaka vaka levu for your beautiful hospitality 🙏

Charming older resort with friendly and welcoming staff. This resort is in need of some repairs ie. broken soap dispensers, poor landscaping equipment. 3 out of 4 days, there were chainsaws running 7 hours in a row by the pool and guest rooms. Not relaxing whatsoever on a holiday. Paid meals not included were tasty and the live shows engaging and heartfelt. The beach is beautiful for beachcombing and photo ops. But is lacking in a designated area for guests to lounge and sunbathe. We loved the pool surroundings minus the chainsaw noise.

The best part about First Landing is the staff. So friendly, helpful and amazing with kids. We stayed in a 1Bedroom villa which was beautiful. Had everything you needed and its own private pool. The main pool is also very good, large and with lots of loungers/umbrellas around it. There was an activity board each day with lots of different things to do and excursions could be booked through the onsite tour desk. Tuesday night show was great fun too. But again, the people really are the best!

A mostly pleasant resort, with excellent staff. They really made us feel welcome. Building needs some serious maintenance. Felt I was ripped off when I tried to shuttle my family back to the airport and told it would be $150, instead of the $50 it took me to get there from the airport. Driver accepted $60 as that’s all the cash we had on hand.

A charming resort. Extremely friendly staff. We were in Villa 101 which was a little rustic but we loved it. The property has lovely shade, our own pool for cooling off, immediate access to the ocean and the best view for sunsets on Fiji. Restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. The spa/massage was heaven. Wouldn't hesitate to go back. Thank you for the wonderful holiday!

The staff by and large is really great at First Landing Beach resort. The Nalamu Grand Villa was perfect for our two families of 5, with room space, facilities, location and privacy. Nothing beats a private pool by the beach!

The room — ocean view bulle was amazing! Great shower, beautiful resort, pool, island, and beach! Very kind service. Reasonably priced restaurant with great food.
My only complaint is that we did as they suggested and had the meals and spa billed to our room. Upon check out they read back to me all the food we had at the meals and the spa services. But they didn’t provide an itemized bill. It was hard to tell if the final amt they charged was correct, esp with the change in currency. When I went back and added it up it seemed to me they overcharged us . I have asked multiple times for an itemized bill so I can be sure and they have yet to provide that. Which is a bummer because we loved this resort and would definitely stay again but be very careful with your bill and we would advise not to have things billed to your room.

first landing is locates middle of Nadi and Lautoka. The resort is a short distance from Nadi (International) Airport, approx. 25-30 minutes drive.
Resort offers many activities in addition to great view, food, service and vibe. Staffs are very friendly and helpful.
Room service is awesome. The resort is perfect for families, groups or individuals even.
We wanted to explore nearby areas so we hired car and drove. We used Maps to navigate directions.
Sabet mud-pool is a short drive you may hire your own car and go there, it is pretty simple to get around or you could let the resort arrange a cab.
About the Weather
We went in Jan. It is hurricane season between Dec-Jan, however unless otherwise any warnings' issued by the Gov. the weather is not a worry for cruises or moving anywehre on the island, Nadi and Lautoka.

The front office staff were rude and the spa was closed. When we asked why the spa was closed we got a different version from the front office to the apparent manager. They did not help to get us a spa treatment elsewhere. There was no apologies or compensation for the lack of services.

There was construction happening at the back of our villa and the noise was unpleasant.

One afternoon it was actually quiet and we decided we would have a nap, we placed the do not disturb sign on our door and locked it. Housekeeping were yelling from outside the gate to come in and then rang the phone. They were surprised that we did not wish to be disturbed and they said it is my last shift I want to say goodbye. They showed a lack of boundaries for guests spaces.

It is extremely disappointing because we were returning guests and our last experience was nothing like this.

Despite these things we had a wonderful time as we were helped by locals to find masseuses to go to. The bar staff were very friendly and looked after us.

The room was spotless,spacious, very comfy bed, great aircon, a ceiling fan, great water pressure in the shower. The staff were excellent and so friendly, remembered your name almost immediately. Great food, great views, this resort reminded me of Fiji when I was a child. No cookie cutter rooms, restaurants, gyms etc…..this is an authentically Fijian experience with the comforts we want yet so relaxed and laid back - not an “influencers” paradise but a place where you can really relax, rest, and get away from it all. I absolutely loved it and will be back.

We had an amazing time staying at First Landing Resort with our family of five! Our villa was spacious, clean, and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Having laundry in the villa was such a great addition — especially with kids, it made things so much easier.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Breakfast was decent, though it could use a bit more variety, and restaurant options around the resort were a bit limited.

Overall, it’s a lovely, peaceful place with wonderful staff and a family-friendly atmosphere. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

A great cost effective option for staying close to Nadi and the airport, has a small beach, close to a marina and lovely sea view and sunsets. Great to hear of the history as well. And best of all the staff were lovely, even remembered our names when they greeted us the next morning. Nice dining under the palms trees and on sand, fun seeing the warriors dance - easy entertainment.

The room was adequate but there was bird poop on my bed in two separate places. Additionally, only one staff member out of the 15 I interacted with was friendly- the rest were judgemental, unhelpful, and I felt extremely unwelcome. The meal service was unclear whether it was self serve or sit-down and order, which led to me paying for a service I did not want. The taxi service to and from the airport was unsafe, and it was not communicated by what method of payment they required and how much the fare was, leaving plenty of room to gouge tourists based on what they saw fit to change. When I asked what the fare was, the question I received in return was “Where are you from?” which should not matter in the slightest. Overall, I did not feel happy, safe, or welcome at this resort, and I spent a fair amount of money for this holiday.

All the staff were excellent. Very helpful, courteous and always smiling. Unfortunately the front face of the hotel-the receptionist was always in a bad mood, gave incorrect information and could not smile. The duty manager Jo was very helpful.

Room was amazing. Property gorgeous. Staff so wonderful and accommodating. Did all of our sightseeing and running around via drivers arranged by the resort. Food was great. Had seafood most nights then split a cheeseburger through room service our last night and regretted not trying that sooner. Was literally the best cheeseburger and fried I've ever had, lol. Who'd have thought that would be at a resort in Fiji, but it was! Just one more great thing about the First Landing! :)

For international clientele, you should have outlets or lamps on which you can plug usb charging cable.
Found a huge cockroach in bathroom. It's not surprising on tropical islands, but it doesn't give a good feeling upon arrival in a room.

Great stay at First Landing

Bula! I enjoyed my 3-night stay at First Landing after being in Tonga for 2 weeks. My main focus was to relax and unwind, and the beautiful Ocean Spa Bure was the perfect spot to do that. Aside from restaurant/performance noise at times, the bure was so peaceful and pretty. Having a screened-in lanai to enjoy morning coffee on, and dry water clothes on was great. I did not snorkel in front of the property (which I really wanted to do)...mainly because I seemed to be gone when the tide was high enough to swim.
Everybody I interacted with was friendly and helpful. There was some confusion with the front desk when trying to book/confirm a day trip, but it all worked out. Breakfast was decent...fairly basic but good options and amazing views.
Overall I had a terrific stay at First Landing - vinaka!

The best parts were the staff and the Villas.
The staff - specifically INIA and KOSO - as well as each and every staff member. Made us feel welcome, shared their live experience on Fiji (locals perspective), and remembered what we liked to eat. Also went out of their way to find us transportation to other parts of the island and to adventures we wanted to do. Every person said Bula each time our paths crossed on the property! We think Fijians are wonderful people based on our experience !

We stayed at one of the villas (numbers 101 to 108) that were in front of the pier, and that had its own pool in the front. What a great time! So glad we did this instead of staying in a standard hotel room. We watched the sun set each night, walked along the water to the restaurant 50 meters away, treaded the water near the pier when the tide was in… and played in the pool with our daughter!

You will need to arrange for transportation to do adventures outside of First Landing, but they do have a boat that leaves the pier on the property for daily trips to MalaMala and 2 other islands - MUST DO adventures that extend the fun of your time in Fiji.

Enjoy your trip Fiji! You won’t go wrong with First Landing!

As we drove into the vicinity of the resort, we thought where are we going. As we passed the fuel and gas depots we were quite concerned, but once we saw the marina and arrived at First Landing, we fell in love. This place has old traditional Fiji beauty, and we loved our beachfront room. The staff were exceptionally. Their warm smile and wish to please was such a beautiful thing to experience. If you’re after glitz and glamour, this may not be the place for you, but if you want old Fijian charm, First Landing won’t disappoint. We loved every minute of our stay.

After spending a week at First Landing with my wife, I can confidently say it’s the only destination we’ve visited that we’re already planning to return to. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived.

The food was consistently great, and our Ocean Spa Bure was clean, comfortable, and offered stunning views—perfect for a relaxing getaway.

If I had one criticism, it would be the pricing of goods and services at the resort. However, I understand this is more due to government regulations than the resort itself.

All in all, we had an unforgettable experience. We’ll definitely be back. Bula!

This resort is ok, the outside of property when walking within the resort is nice because of the landscape and trees but overall very boring. The rooms are spacious but the bathrooms are very old inside and the caulking isn’t maintained so you can see holes within the floor and sink etc. The worst part is the trees have these hard black things that fall from them and when they land on the roof it sounds like someone is breaking into the room lol. They land so hard on the tin roof that it creates a banging effect and it would disturb our sleep at night because of the wind picking up at night.
There is no entertainment on the property at all other than odd singing here and there in the bar area.
You cannot swim on the property therefore making you pay for a taxi and search for a beach. And the beach nearby has black sand not white so the water isn’t clear either. However it was warm and nice but kind of scary because you cannot see in it clear even when close to shore.
And lastly the food is mediocre, the same fruits and pastry options were displayed daily, no change of taste etc. The food you order also is ok too nothing special at all.
This report isn’t all inclusive you have to pay for all food and drinks apart from the pricey stay which makes it not worth staying in my opinion due to the other things I mentioned above. Overall it needs help desperately. It’s perfect for boring elderly people.
The staff are all welcoming and sweet which is the only plus for the resort.
