Whilst the room we were given was clean and provided with fresh bedding, it was in need of refurbishment and felt a little rough around the edges. It connected to the apartment next door via a flimsy black door, unlocked at the handle and secured only by a small gold latch at the top corner. For added reassurance, we placed a chair under the handle.

We enjoyed a satisfactory night’s sleep until we were awoken at 4:00 a.m. by loud thumping on our door, which we assumed was caused by children playing around. In the morning, there was no hot water. We called reception using the in-room phone, and someone arrived promptly but was unable to fix the issue. We were instead told to use the shower in the neighbouring apartment, which had just been vacated by a family and was in need of cleaning. We had chosen this property mainly for its cost, so we were not expecting luxury, but given the overall experience, we would not choose to stay here again.

Do not believe anything that is listed on expedia for this property. The whole complex is falling apart, there is no air con, no restaurant, more furnishing are broken or just not there, rooms filthy and bed bugs. Photos are all from obviously when it first opened. Expedia knows that this is falsely advertised on here and will not give you a refund as we have just found out. This property needs a bulldozer to fix its issues. We stayed there only for 2 hours before finding new accommodation as it was unsafe for kids.

The rooms date back to the early 70’s and are very outdated including furniture and linen .The windows are all heavily fortified like your your doing time in prison.

The receptionist are not very helpful nor welcoming and lastly there is no internet or wifi at this so called place .

Wouldn’t recommend.

What you pay is what you get
Despite slight injection to uplift the tired exhausted facade, and as this was our last option, it was what you pay is what you get. Staff are v friendly albeit it the pool needs a deep cleaning. To my astonishment kids urinating inside the pool and rowdy crowd towards the evening makes in the pool unapproachable. Waking distance to CROWNE and Wailoaloa makes it tolerable

This property other than the friendly staff is absolutely horrendous, room conditions are very poor, no hot water, no proper water pressure, room wax dirty, it’s very outdated, pool has a filthy smell and they charge bond with cash payment only, it’s upsetting Expedia would recommend suck a place on their website, pleas remove this hotel as a option. Old and tired, needs a lot of maintenance and good clean…the staff were lovely and 24hr desk and security guard on site were very reassuring as a single traveler. Good location, short walk to bigger hotels with restaurants and supermarket.

The property needs a make over, structural maintenance and new furniture. The beds were old and the pillows lumpy. The TV was from the 80's.The sheets and towels were surprising clean and new. The roof leaked in my bedroom causing wet pillows, mattress etc. It created a powerful mould smell in the room. The ceiling fans were so old and noisy to be rendered useless but the air-conditioning in the main bedroom was new and worked well.
Some staff were excellent but others very unprofessional, unhelpful and rude. The location was fine but until the basics are fixed, I'd recommend booking somewhere else.

This property had no restaurant or bar which had been closed since covid. It had no outdoor furniture around the pool. It had no internet (or the staff were reluctant to give out the codes). The phone did not work. The walls were paper thin. The location was poor with a long walk to find food. No shuttle transport.
The staff did their best but could not help much. The hotel should be prosecuted for false advertising! Do not stay there.

No greetings or complement from staff upon arrival,staff was busy doing other work,just asked name and gave a form to fill.3 days of stay there,not a single day of room service.Used the same towels entire stay.Had to ask for everything we needed,coffee,sugar extra towels for floor and hands.
No pool towels provided,had to take same ones to the pool.
Liked the property and the setup,really nice pool.
Staff and management needs a lot of training in guest and customer service .

Our room was very dirty - poo marks in toilet, smelt very stale, dirty marks everywhere smeared with something I wouldn't like to think about
Only given 2 towels despite there being 4 of us staying - again, none of the towels seemed fresh
No restaurant or breakfast - apparently the restaurant closed and is yet to reopen
Poor communication with hotel when i booked - i asked if they had an airport transfer service and if they did breakfast - i had no response despite chasing up. This left us unprepared with 2 children

Conclusion : unclean and not somewhere we would stay again unfortunately. I can tell it used to be a beautiful hotel but has really got run down over time. Although that does not excuse a dirty room

I had checkout right away after I checked because it was very dirty lots of cockroach. Rats and dirty bedbugs bedding all taped licking. Smells very bad. I want all my refunded please. It’s you guys fault for not seeing the connection and selling on Expedia , please reply regarding refund.

This property looks nice from the outside with well manicured landscape but the room I had looked like a run down motel. It had dirty black carpet which was a big turn off. The facility is very old and dated. Nothing was updated in my room.

For the price of the rooms. It wasnt worth it. Only one toom had ac , the rest of the unit had fans. The onsite restaurant was closed food had to be purchased outside. I had 2 rooms and had requested they be as close to each other as possible but ended up being on opposite ends of the property. The property also looks run down and looks like it might shut down at some point.

EXPEDIA NEEDS TO REMOVE THIS ACCOMMODATION FROM THEIR SITE LIST-
The receptionists had no idea, the cooked breakfast we paid extra for was terrible- it wasn’t a cooked breakfast at all it was a continental breakfast if that! ((instant coffee, stale cereal, 2 slices cold toast, half a banana, full cream milk- no alternative
The room itself was disgusting- filthy shower, had to wear thongs in shower. The towels were stained, the linen old, the bed was old, the kitchen was not a “full kitchen” as described, the kitchen was dilapidated. There was no aircon in the family area only in the bedroom and who knows when or if that was last cleaned? Ceiling fan was ok but noisy. The toilet cistern ran 24/7. There was no restaurant on the property. No WI-FI available. The property was directly behind the airport runway so it was very noisy. There was no spare key so if we wanted our room “cleaned” we had to leave the key at reception. In room phone not working.
It was on the whole old, filthy and dilapidated. In fact we left early because it was becoming quite depressing! As did others!!!!! DON’T STAY HERE 😡
Garden was actually quite nice and the pool was ok.

Very friendly and very willing staff. The only things at fault was the pool which was discoloured. Maybe needs to be checked for chlorine on a weekly basis using pool test strips to keep the pool clear. I stayed there for 5 nights and the water contained a small amount of green algae.

We arrived around 4pm and one of 2 rooms was not ready until 6.30pm. The available room smelled of urine and was damp due to just having been cleaned. There were no blankets on the beds and the aircons were on and remote controls didn’t work to be able to turn them off. There were no pots or anything to cook in the kitchen. I had to go and follow up the key for the second room despite having been told I would get a phone call once our room was available. The pool was green. The staff were pleasant and apologetic and were obviously just doing their best. Perhaps more staffing would have helped. The location was convenient and the restaurant next door was great.

Good location, a 10min walk to Smuggler's Cove & Wailoaloa beach. A few local restaurants and bars. 15min taxi ride to Port Denarau.

The grounds of the property and pool area are lovely and well maintained. The complex buildings are run down and in need of maintenance work. We mostly had no hot water in our room and had cold showers all week.

The staff were helpful and hospitable. We were mostly the only guests staying there. On a few occasions, there were people drinking heavily and partying - which in itself was fine but we had some drunken men banging on our door and shouting at 1.30am and overheard a very loud fight between a drunk couple at 6am on Sunday morning. As 2 female friends travelling together, these experiences were unsettling.

There is security on site and I assume they shut this down fairly quickly but just an FYI - this is not the best option for solo female travellers. Better to stay around Smuggler's Cove area.

I imagine GWV was a hive of activity before Covid. I hope that with some investment into repairing the property, it can be restored to its former glory.

There were tons of bugs. Bed bugs, cockroaches and mosquitoes. This hotel seemed more for locals. Virtually no restaurant. No other amenities. Pool is ok but needs a lifeguard as it’s way too overcrowded and kids are always left unattended at the water slides. Staff was helpful but need more training. Kitchen needs to be more stocked with cooking utensils. Overall ok for a long term stay if you can slum it.

First of all, I reckon the staff did their best to serve the customers.
But the facility of this hotel is old and like a motel.

For example:
1 Rooms are separated by the internal door. If anyone on your next room talking or even switch on / off the light, you can hear clearly. And I don't understand the their hotel rules, customers bring cooking wares to cook and even stereo speakers to have party in the room is allowed? You can't sleep early if you have trip to islands next morning.
2 The white pillows are darker inside. If you check by removing the pilliow cover.
3 Bed light doesn't work. I've mentioned 3 times no one come to fix.

I will not recommend you book this hotel if you are travellers from other countries. Actually, the fact is, during my 4 days stay, I never see any foreigners. This hotel might be the paradise for local residents to have parties. But not for oversea tourists.

By the way, there is nothing for the staff to improve. The staff already did their best I believe. Enthusiastic and always try to help. It is the owner of the hotel needs to work on a lot things to make it better.

We were only spending the night but found it clean and functional. the pool looked nice. The food was delicious and the staff very nice. The WiFi costs but we were handed a phone to text our kids that we were OK, which I thought was very hospitable. It is located out of town a small distance.

I did not stay here but went to my room and looked around. I was so shocked and disappointed that I called around by phone,found other accomodation and then checked out. The only nice thing that was the same in the photos was the pool. The room was small, dirty and there were three outside doors which could be easily broken into, making me fearful to stay.

To start with the positive, the staff were so lovely, especially Deepak at the restaurant. The pool and slide were amazing. The resort is in quite a handy location, near beach and town. But it seems the resort is poorly managed. We were disappointed due to a lot of misleading/false advertising eg there was no wi-fi in the rooms (apparently it was \"down\" but we were suspicious, they let us log in to the WiFi in the reception area but it was unreliable), there was no babysitting service, both these were advertised. Fresh towels were as rare as gold! With maid service, you can expect the floor to be swept and a packet of toilet rolls left on the table, no bedding changes. A big disappointment for us was that there were no cocktails available which is pretty unusual for a resort! And it's worth noting that it's right next to the airport which was a fantastic spectacle that our son LOVED but you may want to pack ear plugs. We still recommend the resort and would have had a much better time if we hadn't got our hopes up about certain services which were promised but undelivered.

Waited for 1 hour for front desk to find n check ne inn. The room didnt have hand, face, or floor towels when i asked they simply said no they disnt have it asked for extra towels never came with the room was not clean and also i booked a 2 bedroom villa with my family i had to pay $60.00 extra for them to stay this was bs also i paid $140.00 US for this room they only had 2 channels for the TV i mean i dont understand that we couldn't watch tv i really hated this i will never go bad again.
Also they need to know customer service mean and how to accommodate people for the room

We arrived in this hotel on 11 July 2019.
We booked 9 nights. Still here but, I couldn't to write a excellent review about it!! Nice welcoming, smiling and friendly staff. Every staff members are so kind, gentle and helpful. Made us fell at home. Tours and tickets assistance always available. The room are very clean , spacious with a nice terrace. Housekeeping service every day
if want. Amazing and funny swimming pool. The environment kept very clean, perfect to have a nice relax, enjoy the green garden around you and the good food in the restaurant. Would definitely recommend staying here as a beautiful hotel with the best service.

Replacement towels only provided after 4pm.
Kids shouting and riding around on skateboards in the walkway right outside room early in the mornings.
Location is good.

We booked an accessible room, but when we arrived the staff were keen to have us check upstairs. Upon checking downstairs we realized why... The room was dirty (even marks indicating the toilet hadn't been cleaned since use!) and mouldy. We even found a sanitary pad in the side drawer. We ended up having to stay upstairs which made it difficult as I have mobility issues. Upstairs was much cleaner and if you are looking for somewhere close to the airport it would be fine. The onsite restaurant is basic but fine, there are also a few other places within 500m.
If you're a light sleeper be aware that the runway is very close.
WiFi costs $10 per hour so it's probably cheaper to just get a local SIM. TV reception isn't great and reception have to change channel for you. That said the staff are lovely and super helpful

Facilities are not maintained in good condition.

Need renovation of hotel rooms as all facilities in villas are too old. There are no mosquito net on windows and doors. So, mosquitoes are easily get inside the room. No free wifi in room! Door key lock is damaged and air condition only in main bed room but 2nd bedroom only fan and no air condition on lounge, terrible when hot. No activity for kids in this hotel and only small very old TV for entertainment.

Grubby Run-Down Unpleasant Hotel

This hotel was a disappointment. Whilst not expensive, it was not cheap. It is completely lacking any charm whatsoever. On entering my room, it was apparent that it had not been cleaned properly, with hairs visible on the tile floors. The same was true of my daughter's room, so it was not just bad luck. On day one I was asked if I would like my room made up. After that, nobody cleaned the room again and nobody ever cleaned my daughter's room. The towels, by the way, were off-white as they were so old. There was a sofa in the room but I dare not sit on it, as the room was that grubby. Indeed, the entire room was run down and grubby.

The air conditioning was noisy, and that was when it worked at all. The remote control for the air con did not work properly and the fact that the batteries were secured in place with tape tells its own story. We only made the mistake of eating there once. Over-priced food cooked in oil that needed replacing. Gross.

This hotel has no charm, is dirty, is unattractive and has no significant redeeming feature. It is in desperate need of complete refurbishment and, even then, it would remain a dull and charmless hotel, albeit it one that would be fit to be a budget hotel.

Better than expected from reviews

I had read the reviews about the staff and location prior to booking, and was a little apprehensive...but the staff that checked us in were delightful. They even carried our bags to our room. The room was clean, super large, with excellent AC. There were a few mosquitos buzzing around, but we closed the windows and that was the end of that (it was the reason, however, that we did not try out the pool...the airport had made us afraid of dengue fever...and since we were planning on spending the majority of our days on day tours to the various islands--no mosquitos there as far as we could see--it wasn't a loss.
There is a restaurant on the premises, and we ordered there once. They let us take our meal to our room, which was nice...and our room had a kitchen and three bathrooms as well.
Per the neighborhood...though you can stand on the street and hail a taxi, it would be an interesting walk to try to get either to the town or beach (with kids, not something I would try). Not the best surroundings...but not dangerous.
To agree with past reviews, you CAN HEAR the airplanes that fly overhead...BUT it is a small airport (there are only 1-2 per night). Doable. The walls are also thin (you can hear people come/go from their cars). Annoying, not horrible, but worth noting.
In the final analysis: for the price, it was better than expected in the newly remodeled rooms. Not filled with drinking backpackers (like we saw at other places) so better for our needs/family.

I was only there one night. The room was clean but the photos did not match the real thing in my opinion. I bought a 24 hour internet card which I then returned as the wifi wasn't working. They did refund my money so that was good. The staff was friendly but I felt that they wasn't much communication between them. I was charged for the night when I arrived but then was asked to pay again the next morning. I had to produce my credit card receipt to prove it. I thought it was a little odd.

Property backs onto International runway

Those not used to jet engines waking you early in the morning, need not go there but it is relatively close to Wailoaoa beach - you have to walk around 700 - 800 meters around privately owned land. The grounds & pool are kept in a reasonable condition & the showers were nice & hot. Rooms are basic & although it advertises kitchen facilities, you aren’t allowed to cook in the room (apart from heating up food in microwave) & has fridge & kettle, so limited to bring your own breakfast cereal, fruit & they provide tea/coffee/sugar & powdered milk. We mostly ate at Bamboo travellers back packers as the Grand West restaurant on site was overpriced in comparison & lacked atmosphere. Check what time tours pick you up & triple check if you need to be there earlier as we missed a pick up & had to pay $25FJ to get into Denarau. Balcony has nice view of sunset.

Not Bad - You get what you pay

My experience at Grand West Villas was overall \"ok\". Nothing to harp on about, but an ok place to spend time whilst travelling or holidaying in Fiji. The staff were friendly, but the rooms weren't all that crash hot. At least we had booked an apartment that had a view of the sea.

On arrival at 3pm our room was not ready, beds had no linen and there were no towells. The beds also had seen better days, the air con in the bedroom worked but was dodgy, TV was limited and static. The fridge was turned off. Our first view was one of \"what the hell have we booked\". We were advised the room would be made up soon. We went out at 4.30 and things were still to be sorted. We soon found 'don't give them your towells in the morning as you won't get them back until after 4pm, there are no pool towells so you are going to be left short. The housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful, however the reception staff did not give you that welcome feel. The location was okay as it is in walking distance to Wailoaloa beach and cheap meals and drinks. The bus stops outside the premises going to and from Nadi. Overall the property is clean and tidy, but, the photos of rooms is definately not to be relied upon, as usual they are of the best rooms.

Fiji five day stay

Hotel is five minute walk to the beach. Taxi’s are inexpensive $5-$6 to town or Marina Port but you can also take a bus for $1.10. Staff was excellent, price was good for older style hotel and rooms were cleaned every day.

They wanted to charge us about $20 per night for wifi and the room was a bit depressing. We actually checked straight out of this place and went to Bamboo backpackers down the road which was cheaper and nicer.

We had a wonderful stay wonderful staff and nothing was a problem. Perfect pool apartment was big enough for us. Close to Nadi town and our family in Fiji who lives in Enamanu. Came back from our trip daily and the room was already serviced will be going back there again

Friendly staff, convenient location.

Our goal was to save money so that we could participate in daily excursions. We chose Grand West Villas for their location and price. It is very affordable and a convenient/safe location to get to the grocery store, downtown Nadi markets, Point Denaru and the airport. The excursion pick ups were all free and taxis were about $7-$15 FJD. When we spoke with other parties staying at the bigger resorts on the Coastal area they had to pay double to triple for taxis and excursion pick ups because of their location, not to mention the time it took to get to places like Port Denaru. Also, since we were so close to Point Denaru and Nadi downtown we had many options for eating out. There is a cafe at the resort with reasonably priced meals. We had a few meals and were satisfied with the food and service. We really appreciated the customer service, they were all very kind and helpful, Laisa went above and beyond even before we checked in. She emailed me and helped me book a smaller room for half a day to help with our jet lag and each day she answered all my questions and checked on our excursions with a smile. There are definitely some upgrades needed with items such as: the beds (it was very soft and sunk in) , bedding skirts (torn/dirty) , lamp shades ( broken), alarm clocks (broken), and the TV. We didn't stay in to watch much of it but when we tried to watch a little the sound would come in and out and the screen was not always clear. Overall a great place to stay we will be back
