We stayed at Nalagi Hotel for 6 nights, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing.

From the first day, our room had several issues. There were no bathroom amenities, and despite calling reception multiple times, there was no quick response. The air conditioning was also leaking onto the floor.

As the stay continued, we noticed more serious concerns including stained bedding and discoloured (brown) tap water, which raised hygiene concerns for us.

We reported these issues, but there were no available rooms to relocate us, so we had to check out early.

Some staff were polite, but overall the condition of the room and lack of timely response affected our stay. I hope the hotel improves its maintenance and housekeeping standards.

On arrival I had no towels in my room. I asked the front desk three times for a towel. They kept tell me that house keeping would bring it. Eventually I walked down to reception and saw a big trolley of towels and got it myself

Clean rooms and very friendly, helpful staff made our stay enjoyable. However, the breakfast selection was quite limited this time, which was a bit disappointing. I also wish there had been a bathtub, as it made bathing my baby a bit challenging. Overall, still a pleasant stay.

Upon arrival, the condition of the room was unacceptable. The room was dirty with visible hair and cockroach eggs. The walls were mouldy. The bedsheets were stained and the pillows were discoloured with yellow marks. The bed base showed water staining consistent with flood damage. These conditions raised serious concerns about hygiene and guest safety.

In addition, the in room safe was broken and not mounted to anything, meaning it could easily be removed. This completely undermines the purpose of a safe and presents a clear security risk.

I raised these issues with hotel staff, however their response was defensive and dismissive, effectively communicating that I should accept what had been provided. Given the condition of the room and the lack of meaningful engagement from staff, I had no choice but to leave the property immediately and secure alternative accommodation at my own cost.

This experience was both distressing and disruptive to my travel plans. The property does not reflect the standard represented on your platform. I can provide photographs that clearly evidence the issues outlined above and substantiate my claim.

I request that Expedia review this matter and consider an appropriate refund for the unused stay.

I checked in around 2pm and was hoping to freshen up before heading out, but unfortunately towels weren’t available until close to 8pm. This seemed to be an ongoing issue, as towels were often not available until early evening on most nights.
Breakfast was included in my stay but was fairly average and nothing memorable. The lobby had an unpleasant odor throughout my stay, which wasn’t a great first impression. The lift is extremely slow—thankfully I was on the second floor and mostly used the stairs.
There were also tiny cockroaches in the bathroom, which was disappointing and concerning.
On the positive side, the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and the view from the rooftop pool is absolutely incredible and easily the highlight of the hotel.
Overall, despite the great staff and rooftop views, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

I enjoyed staying in Nalagi, but the hotel lobby is busy place, the wooden benches are not ergonomic at all for long waiting, get back pain. Also always we felt a bad smell in lobby maybe from sewage system,
Staff are friendly sometimes they cannot manage the restaurant in breakfast time in busy day, all dishes are empty and no tea bag or clean plates. Room are good and get cleaned daily. Sometimes they didn’t charge water inside fridge because they saw we bought water ourselves.

Room was advertised incorrectly. The additional bed was not suitable for an adult (not for a child either probably) but was not even set up anyway and did not have enough towels either. Had to request for the additional bed to be set up. We then requested to move rooms due to it not being suitable for an adult to sleep on what was considered an additional bed. Was told that we would be moving into a room with two queen beds but upon moving, found that it was still only suitable for two adults as the beds were only king singles. This meant that we were still short a bed. Housekeeping then set up the ‘sofa’, as per the first room, but only provided a cushion for a pillow, as well as only one sheet.
The second room on the booking also experienced issues and had to move rooms due to the air conditioning not working properly. I ended up sleeping on the floor, making a bed out of the lounge cushions because the sofa was not adequate to sleep on.
The check in was very slow with excessive waiting time. The lifts were very small and also very slow. We often used the stairs instead because it was much quicker.
Breakfast options were good but there was a long queue to get in, and the staff could not keep up with the amount of dishes, sometimes resorting to slop washing to keep up with the demand for plates etc. Plenty of options on the menu for dinner and the meals were large. Some of our orders were incorrect and also took a very long time despite being the only people there

I have stayed at Nalagi few time time before and everytine the Tv didnt work. Perhaps the tv in room for decoration only. Last night we stayed in room 326 , the air con is so old even thou we have set it up to cold , it didnt cool the room at all. Glad that room had a ceiling fan.

We only stayed for 1 night, the idea being somewhere to stop when we first land. The bedroom itself was fine, the bathroom had a really damp smell, and the whole room & hotel seems tired & needs a bit of love. Not what you would expect for a relatively new hotel. You get what you pay for, but we’d be unlikely to stay again. Some of the staff worked extremely hard, especially the bar staff in the upstairs bar. They could have done with extra staff, as one person was not enough but she really went out of her way! Not a biggy but our booking said welcome drink on arrival and this was not received which was fine but I feel the mama & love of the hotel was missing. It’s fine for what you pay

Overall a very good property for the price that I paid. The staff were absolutely amazing, Jope in particular was super helpful and when the balcony door to my original room wasn't locking, he arranged an alternative with no pain.

The bed was super comfortable and the room service for one of my meals was top notch.

The breakfast was of nice quality, however not as diverse as others that I have stayed with. Only complaint for breakfast service would be, tables often are cleaned quickly enough for 2nd round of guests (could be an isolated event)

The location is super handy, access to supermarket up the road, great parking and the two restaurants on site make it enjoyable. My stay was short so didn't use any other facilities.

Whilst a new property, some features are looking dated. The AC in both rooms didn't do a good job of cooling but the ceiling fan helped compensate.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property to others

We found this hotel perfect for our overnight stay. The room was clean, bathroom was nice, air-con worked fine in the room. A big draw to this hotel is the roof-top pool, the view is incredible! (Unfortunately it was rainy so we didn’t swim). Breakfast had an interesting assortment of options, we enjoyed the freshly made omelettes. Would stay again.

Good if you are on a budget. Pool on the roof and view is great. Staff really good. Rooms are comfortable. Could do with an upgrade and you get loads of bugs in the bathroom coming out of every crack/extractor. Pool needed cleaning desperately with loads of bugs and scum along the water edge on the tiles that were not cleaned in the 2 weeks we stayed. Food was ok for lunch and dinner but breakfast was mainly aimed for other cultures than the Aussies or brits. All in all it was a pleasant stay but if I had the money, the marina hotels would get my business.

Hotel room was dirty. Bed had bedbugs and eating area had cockroaches and I had pointed at the staff about this and he just raised his eyebrows. Shower was not washed properly and water was pooling out from the corner around the toilet.

Owned by Chinese. Quite a few things don’t work - shower loose, bed light, tv. Has a safe though.
We checked in bit early which helped. Fijian taxi drivers can be booked in lobby. Not really anything close by to do. MacDonalds next door - if you like that sort of thing. Seems to be a Chinese restaurant on site which is probably better than the in house one. Great view from bar on roof!

The Nalagi served as a good spot to stay when we travelled for a family wedding. Rooms are very spacious but could do with a little more decor. Not enough towels after housekeeping, but we managed. Fantastic taxi service located in the foyer, and a couple of restaurants and a supermarket very close by. Breakfast was basic, but adequate, and the rooftop pool and view was lovely. Photos and reality are a bit different, but still a pleasant stay.

When we check in they have two booking we went to room only one towel and one glass we told front desk they did not bring towel or glass we have to go and bring it ourselves.
