Booked 3 nights for my employee who is a local girl and currently homeless. The dorm we paid for wasn’t ready when she checked in even though we could book it on Expedia so she was put in separate room. The next day they tried to charge her extra $91 for the room. Spoke to manager Elenora couldn’t see an issue with it even though it was their fault the doem wasn’t available when it should’ve been. My phone call also surprisingly disconnected all of a sudden in the middle of the conversation. Not happy that they bullied a local girl who is a vulnerable situation. Very disappointed. Be careful when booked Bamboo backpackers!

We had a private room with bathroom. The room was clean with lots of space and a ceiling fan. Dorms are also available. Our room was basic but what you would expect for budget accommodation. The manager Nicky was always available to answer any questions or help with travel plans. The beach, restaurants & bars are all a short walk away. If you are looking for budget accommodation near the Nadi airport then Bamboo Backpackers will be a good choice.

This backpackers was a great budget-friendly find—close to other resorts and right near a beachside club with a fun live band most nights. The staff were really friendly, and I appreciated the reasonably priced private room, which was simple but comfortable for what I needed.

I did come across one large cockroach in my room, which wasn’t ideal, but not uncommon in tropical areas. On the upside, the friendly dogs around the property and the easygoing vibe with other backpackers made it feel very welcoming and social. There were also taxis readily available right outside the venue.

A solid choice for travelers who want a chill, affordable stay in a great location.

Highly suggest bamboo backpackers. Tex, Mary and all of the staff are exceptionally hospitable and friendly, room was very clean. Make sure you go to Kava time and enjoy the kava! And take the fijian cooking class, Excellent spot to stay!

I don’t know how this hotel stays in business. The air conditioning didn’t work, the bathrooms had nothing to offer as far as towels, shampoo, working toilets, and toilet paper dispensers. I sweated my butt off the entire night, and the person in the bed next to me had bedbugs. The bed, sheets, and pillows were outside, on the ground, in the sun to kill the bedbugs that morning. Never, ever stay there. I would never recommend it.

Good budget option for a stay in Nadi. The facilities are generally clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly as well.
You‘ll find some restaurants and a supermarker in the area.

Unfortunately, they still had an issue with bed bugs and offered us a new room which was not occupied by the animals. They took immediate action but with guests changing daily they should check their beds more regularly.

I made a reservation strictly for spending the day before my flight to swim and shower. When I checked in I was told the pool, which is actually on the property next door, was closed for maintenance. I spent the day hanging around. When I wanted to shower, I was told the towels had not been returned from laundry yet. A wasted day. But the staff was really nice.

We stayed here on our last night in fiji as it was super close to the airport. We had a double room which was just a bed and a shower and toilet, everything we needed just for the one night. The staff were nice and friendly our room was clean and tidy the only thing that let this place down was the noise at night time. Across the road from the backpackers was a pub which on the night we stayed had a band playing. Between the noise from the music and the constant barking of dogs there was little sleep had. We understand this is out of the control of the property but worth noting if you plan on staying here to atleast have some earplugs. There was also no shared kitchen area to make food or hot drinks if you needed. Nothing supplied in room either.

Bamboo has a bad case of bed bugs! I heard about it before I stayed, checked the bed and stayed anyway, and am covered in welts after 1 night. It was loud, people will be singing and talking loudly outside your room out all night. Awful. You couldn’t pay me to stay here again. Friendly reception staff though. Cash only, be prepared.

Street Lights, pot holes, bumping road, Male staff member did not give us what was promised a ground floor room. I booked weeks ahead of time. After we checked he checked in 8 more parties.
Two days later I found out he didn’t even tell the manager. Once I told the manager She was lovely and we got moved to a much better room down stairs!

Love bamboo

Ahhhh Bamboo backpackers. The place I keep coming back to. Note that it is under new ownership and now called Bluewater. You can’t beat the price- especially if you have a night or two to stop over in Nadi. The people working there are amazing they’re so nice. The bus to town is easy and it’s close to the airport.
here are my tips:
DONT BOOK THE CAPSULE. You will either suffocate and die in it or you will fall off the ladder and hit your head and die. The room is so small so there’s nowhere to put your stuff, the ladders are terrifying, and the AC doesn’t really work. Do not book the capsule.
The big dorms are, well, big, but they get a lot of airflow and are comfortable. I’ve stayed in the women’s big dorm and liked it. You can’t beat the price either.
Single room was fine- I always get nervous when there’s a bit of a mini kitchen with a sink near the bed…you might get some creepy crawly visitors- but that could happen anywhere and not just this hotel.

PRO TIP:
Try to stay in bluewater lodge behind bamboo. Same management, the internet works there (wink wink) and they have the pool there. Even if you aren’t sleeping there you can go hang by the pool and use the wifi. I stayed in the 4 person dorm there and it was lovely with good AC.

Place was kind of a dump. My first room, the electricity was constantly turning on and off. Probably a total electrical hazard. I got moved to another room that had working electricity. Overall, rooms were shabby, sheets had stains. I guess you get what you pay for at a cheap place.

For a backpacking hotel, you should at least provide a communal cooking area for the guests as it’s a hot country, don’t even have a fridge to keep water and food cold (or store it). Don’t even have a kettle in the private room like advertised. Having the property split in 2 sites is inconvenient and it looks like one site is looked after more than the other. Poor internet connection in bamboo site, doesn’t even reach the room. Basically customers just get a bed and that’s it.

Only a couple of people from the staff are avtually friendly and willing to help. All the rest just want your money and push you to buy their tours, which are super overpriced.
Also, our room had bed bugs, they had to move us to different rooms twice.
Waiting time everytime you order breakfast/lunch/dinner is of 1 hour.
Other than that, some of them are friendly and helpful like mentioned above.

The music and partying goes on until midnight but I anticipated that and had ear plugs. The beach was OK and the pool sparkling. I would stay here again without hesitation.

THE PLACE TO GO IF YOU WANT TO VISIT NADI

I was at Bamboo for a week and I really enjoyed my stay.
I was in a private room and it was just perfect, clean with all the comforts in it.
It is an amazing place if you travel as solo, it gives you the opportunity to meet a lot of people since it is point of meeting for all the places around, It is very simple and the ambiance is top thanks also to the beautiful people who works there.

Backpacker's place...

This is the backpacker's hangout. You'll roll your eyes if you're not into the party scene, but you can't beat the prices and it's a good starting point for other trips in the country. The restaurant was pretty good too and decently priced, just be prepared to wait a while for your food. It's not really my scene, but I would probably go back if I were passing through Fiji again.

I enjoyed my stay. My only complaints would be : plenty of staff but I still noticed litter about and no one bothering to clean it. Staff yelling to each other for no reason what so ever. The food needs more condiments ..butter, cream, sauce , otherwise good food. They need to clean up the water/creek/drain area at the beach on the south side, seriously it is not healthy or picturesque. But for the money this hotel is very good.

I stayed in a private room with air conditioning. I found the room very nice. Very nice atmosphere, and the staff were very helpful. They have laundry service available for a small fee. Excellent food and bar choices, I recommend the Eggs Benedict for breakfast or brunch. You can also schedule your trips to the islands or other places directly from bamboo, which includes the pickup to the port or destination needed.

Feeling like home, authentic backpacker

The free airport-shuttle was very comfortable, the pre-booking was easy. We had a warm welcome from the whole stuff. everybodey was lovely all the time and did their best to provide us with everything we needed. We always got helpful information. the kitchen-staff does a great job, yummi food, afordable prices, godd portions. The free activities and kawa-cercle are amazing. Tax does by far more than you could expect to entertain and inform you about so many local subjects. She knows how to bring peolple together and gives you a great feeling with her never ending happyness. She`s a talented singer and handicrafter as well. We felt like being with friends. The restaurant and bar are open with seaview, beach-volleyball and kayaking possible. The whole place bostes with traditional backpacker atmosphere. Our room in the attached \"Blue Water Lodge\" about 100 meters away from the main building was basic but clean and mostely quiet. Some additional hooks or a bord to put your things would be helpful. The shared facilities are very basic but rather clean. Over all: the best place to stay at an afordable price in Fiji.

Great place to stay between flights

This hostel is located in a small remote cluster of the similar coastal accommodations on the other side of the airport. Used mostly for a short stay between connection flights, there's no reason to live here long as it's not the best part of Fiji. But for a short stay it's perfect. Friendliest staff are at the top of Fiji hospitality, clean rooms and dormitories with solo beds, descent Wi-Fi everywhere, electricity plugs at every bed, free airport pick up. What else do you need? The beach is right here, but the water is rather dirty and local guys come here by cars, thought they are all very nice.

I enjoyed the shows the management puts on for the guests. I did not like the repeatedly failing electricity issues on the second floor at the Tropic Of Capricorn where they sent me for unknown reason. The staff is loud very early in the morning and very late in the night being very happy.

Perfect location, however the staff is not as friendly as I thought (in general) and when I tried to buy food from the restaurant all the 3 options I wanted were not available.
The sign says the pool is only for in-house guests, but on Saturday local kids kept showing up and jumping in the pool - that was a bit confusing.

Nice place on the beach and cheap! Atmosphere and staff are amazing. The tours I was excited about because they promoted them as ‘backpacker’, but learned it was the same run of the mill tours with the same silly tourist things and they were not cheap. Zip line and jungle walk for about $100 USD. I just rented a car and explored beaches, markets, and sand dunes for a little less than a tour and I had the freedom to go where ever.

The backpackers is fantastic lots going on very social and well thought out. A great area to hang around in. The room was as described, but the fan did not work well. Also our room had faulty door lock. The manager was great and moved our room which ended up including aircon. This was much appreciated and made the stay great. We will be back again!

This hostel caters for travellers from all parts of the world and all ages, mostly adults - I only saw one child staying as a guest (but she was also enjoying herself). I stayed in a double room with a private bathroom, small bar fridge and air conditioning. The room was very basic, but very clean. Do not expect a kettle, coffee, tea or toiletries. You basically are given two cakes of soap and bath towels. Room was cleaned every day along with fresh towels. Food and drinks however are available 24/7 at very reasonable prices - I recommend the Eggs Benedict and curry of the day. The water is steps away from your room - it is black sand and the water is not clear, but it is warm and quite lovely and safe to have a swim. The swimming pool is clean and very refreshing after a day out. You can organise day trips from the hostel and travel into Nadi Town on a local bus that stops at the front door. You have an opportunity to meet lots of people or you can find a quiet spot for some private time. The staff are all very helpful and genuinely interested in ensuring that you are comfortable and enjoy your stay. I have stayed in many of the up market resorts in Fiji, however, they do not come close to the real Fiji atmosphere at Bamboo. The music and fun had in the nightly Kava circle is well worth sitting up a bit later. There were too many staff members to name who looked after me so well - but I felt very safe, very included and will definitely return. Thank you.
