Large pool with shade if required. The grounds are wonderfully tropical and well curated. Bures are private, roomy and the air conditioning works a treat. The large, fluffy bath towels are changed daily. All of the staff are terrific and the restaurant is well worth trying.

The Fiji Orchid is a lovely relaxed hotel with 6 villas tucked amongst lush greens. The staff are incredibly warm and helpful. There is no useable beach nearby and you need a vehicle to go anywhere off the property but it’s near 2 towns and several attractions. There is always someone available to drive you. It’s very convenient to the airport so it’s a good choice for a few nights on the big island.

If you want to be away from the noise and business of too many tourists, this is the place to go. It's like a private tropical oasis. The grounds have beautiful trees and gardens that are well-kept. The bures give you the sense that you are glamping in the middle of the rainforest. Staff is excellent as well. They pick you up to/from the airport and top to bottom everyone knows your name and treats you like a VIP. Only one restaurant option, but the food is amazing. Paradise.
Be aware that because of its gardens and location, there are wild life and animals roaming about: little frogs flood the path on rainy days, tropical insects and lizards, some semi-domesticated cats live(?) on the grounds, and there is a dog as well on the property.

We had an amazing stay at the Fiji Orchid. Everyone was so nice and helpful, nothing was too much. We had a tour booked early morning and would have missed the breakfast but they brought it directly to the bure early morning. It was our first time in Fiji and we wanted to try Kava so the team offered to do it in the evening for us. It was such a cultural experience getting to know the people and their traditions! Thank you Fiji Orchid team for making it a memorable stay.

The property is located in the middle of nowhere. There is a dirt road of about a mine leading to the property from the regular road with cows walking down that dirt road.
The nearby beach is dirty and you still have to walk by the same dirt road to get to that beach. The beach that no one even uses because of its location and poor condition.
The breakfast included in the rate is very limited. You can just get the same 2 eggs (still can choose how they are cooked), some fruit, limited coffee/tea, some bread. Very poor! Nothing more for free. You can get anything else for the extra price. It cannot be even compared to the regular breakfast buffet in normal hotels… very poor. The lunch and dinner is only available on the property (very limited and still pricy).
There are no shops or any attractions nearby so if you don’t rent a car - you are stuck in the dusty jungle with absolutely nothing to do. The tour operators don t offer pick ups from this place.
The pool doesn’t look clean at all.
The dirt/grovel road is very close to the property so you can hear the cars passing by even at night and you get all the dust prom the road.
The WiFi is in the room only! No cellular coverage on the territory. NO TV at all!!!

While not every detail was perfect, the overall experience was definitely perfect. There were a few strange or missed communications in the run-up to my stay. There was a strange incident upon arrival where they had me sign a credit card receipt for someone else's credit card. But forget all that, because this is a beautiful, unique, friendly property and I absolutely loved my two night stay here. I wish it could have been longer. If you arrive at night, as I did, the full beauty of the property will not be immediately apparent, but sitting in your private bure in daylight surrounded by gorgeous flowering plants in a peaceful, secluded jungle --- it's just very special. The staff was so friendly. The food was quite good. The pool is beautiful and relaxing. And while the property is secluded, you are relatively close to the airport and some of the major attractions on the east side of the island. I really hope to return here one day.

The Fiji Orchid is a gem on the outskirts of Nadi, Fiji. I was impressed by the small property and outstandingly friendly staff. We were well cared for and it was very relaxing. The only negative is that there was no access to a beach-side swimming. We were advised that the beach was within 5 min. walk but not to go because of the locals that get rowdy. Perhaps a shuttle to a nearby swim-spot is advisable.

Incredible tranquil stay at the Fiji Orchid. We had the privilege of spending Christmas at the Fiji Orchid with the fantastic staff and owners Peter and Jenny. Fiji Orchid made my stay absolutely wonderful. I wish I could have stayed longer! It's a quiet property with a very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant makes fresh, local Fijian food and at a reasonable price considering other resorts. There are no kids or the bustle of other resorts in Fiji especially in the Nadi area. Highly recommended and will be back.

as a surprise for my husbands birthday I booked a room at The Fiji Orchard OR so I was led to believe, story cut short I had received a confirmation email from the property asking our time of arrival etc, but on arrival we were greeted by the security guard who was extremely confused when we told him we were booked for dinner and a bure, he replied we have been closed for 6 months. Not only had this property not informed Wotif and other booking agents they were still showing availability on their own site. Birthday ruined and not happy with what little communication and assistance from management in having our money returned. I understand Covid and the difficulties this has caused this industry but it is not difficult to inform potential guests of these changes through your own website

A short walk up a path and some stairs leads to the former house of actor Raymond Burr. Now it is used as a restaurant and we enjoyed eating our meals out on the veranda. The chef is superb and catered to our dietary needs wonderfully.
The bure was luxurious and at night they did a wonderful turn down service which transformed our room into a romantic retreat complete with mosquito netting. This was more for effect for us as we had no mosquitos in the room.
We appreciated the plunger coffee, Fiji water and mosquito spray provided.

The property was possibly nice - many, many years ago - but has become very, very tired with lack of maintenance to plumbing, steps and pavers, woodwork, paint et al. Service was almost non-existent, with no-one attending to reception most of the day and no ability to call reception from the bures. Cleanliness was very poor, with dusting not having been done, mould on canvas "roof", large marks on the blankets, air-conditioning that was almost useless and bathroom taps that were not secured - hot water basin tap actually fell off in use, toilet was leaking over the floor etc. The toilet enclosure was too small to sit on the toilet!. The rooms were close to a very noisy, dirt road on which every vehicle, bus and truck thundered by over corrugations and potholes making sleep and even rest impossible. The place was eerily "empty" of life and they didn't provide an iron and ironing board in preference to charging to press every item. There was no mention of steps to the restaurant and since steps were no lit well or at all in some areas, for mobility-restricted people, there were evident risks in using the steps at night. We booked an airport transfer for 10am but at 10am the driver was elsewhere and they would have had us to the airport too late for our requirement. We were there just 2 days but this was 2 days too much. Suggest that the owner spend more time developing a culture of service and spending some money on the place instead of milking it.

Property is nice and quiet and staff are pleasant. Location is remote so a rental car or Taxi's are needed for example, you cannot walk to any other restaurants or activities. Some maintenance is required on the pool, looking a bit scruffy. Traffic noise can be heard at night and birds chirp early in the morning so that may bother light sleepers.

The bures are unique in design, well maintained and have privacy and space between each of the six at this small locally owned establishment. The pool was large and a great place to cool off. The staff were attentive and more than happy to help with tours and knowledge. The property is like a tropical oasis and gorgeous orchids abound. Having free Wifi was good as well. Downside is the property is isolated and you either need a rental car or use taxis, in saying that taxis are fairly cheap and easy to arrange. They have a couple of regular drivers which is good and we had Lala for the majority of our trips to and fro from various local areas. Being a bit further out gives you the opportunity to see more of the real Fiji. The breakfast each morning was fantastic, but we had a bit of hit and miss with some of the lunches and dinners we had there but we found some local eateries namely the Boatshed and First Landing.

Upon check in the staff seemed surprised and almost irritated I was there- they offered little or no information about the hotel and even forgot to give me a key for my room. Entire place was dilapidated ans uncared for. Pool was shabby, dirty and gross with male staff chilling out on loungers by pool, made me feel uncomfortable as a lone female guest. No additional information in room about resort, ammenities or how to use the aircon etc in room or what is included in room rate. Room and bed was clean on surface but opening any cupboards or looking under bed revealed grubby and uncared for state. Bathroom toiletries were half empty and used.

This place is absolutely amazing. So beautiful. At night we could hear the rain and it lulled us to sleep. Timothy was excellent and giving us tips and advice and delicious cold beer. Ledge was great and so accommodating as we had to leave early the next morning before breakfast was served. He graciously delivered breakfast to our Bure super early in the morning. The grounds were absolutely immaculate. It was so fun just walking through their gardens. Bula and Vinaka for your amazing hospitality!

Paradise - Perfect for Relaxation
Holy mackerel, the Fiji Orchid was spectacular. The grounds were gorgeous but what really set this hotel apart was the service. The staff were incredible - so friendly, so helpful. Everything was so personal - everyone including the groundskeepers would all introduce themselves at the beginning of the stay. They run a fairly limited staff so a lot of people do double or even triple duty, which I really enjoyed because you get to know the staff a bit more since you're seeing them so often. They genuinely care about making your stay exceptional. The room was absolutely gorgeous, and the bulas are very private. When you're at breakfast or dinner, the staff must communicate to send someone in to clean up, replace the flowers, and set up or put away the mosquito net. Everything was stunning - it was so hard to leave the hotel because of the sheer beauty of it! When we did go on an excursion, our driver was so friendly and full of facts. The pool was beautiful and refreshing. There was not a single thing that I would change or wouldn't recommend about the entire experience. We were there for four nights, and the only regret I have is that I didn't stay longer.

The Fiji Orchid is like stepping into the past. This property serves six people in six well appointed Bure’s. No TV’s or telephones except in the lounge. Food is delightful Cooked by a young Fijian chef. Raymond Burr lived here and gardened orchids. For a Honeymoon couple or couple that just want to relax for two or three days, this is the place.
Ledge, Jimmy and LA serve your food needs while Eta cares for the rooms. If you need to go off property either rent a car or have the staff order a taxi. Have one of the staff negotiate your trip price as taxi drivers in Fiji will charge way more if they feel they can get away with it.

Was the most relaxing holiday yet. The staff were very welcoming, kind and accommodating to our needs. The meals were amazing and the restaurant staff were friendly and made dining a pleasure. The property is planted with lush growth and orchids which were in flower and amazing. The pool was always clean and very welcoming on the hot mornings. Definitely the place to go for a relaxing no stress holiday.

It is not a resort. Don't go if you are scared of frogs as they are everywhere at night. Take a torch the pathways are not lit up.There are no telephones in bures to contact reception. I had no blanket in my bure. I was cold the air con was off and I had to freeze as it was in the early hours of the morning and I wasn't going to walk in the dark through the frogs to get a blanket. On many occasions no one at reception. They don't do money exchange either.

Staff warmly welcoming and unobtrusive. Breakfast fruit platter and cooked omelettes delicious and the home made bread divine! Coffee nice and strong though went cold quickly. It was never too much hassle to organise transfers and tours and very helpful information offered up in line with this. We never took evening meals there so cannot comment on those, and as there were only two other couples when we stayed, the lounge area was eerily quiet. Great place to come if you want to avoid crowds,but if you don't have your own car you are pretty reliant on having to take taxis everywhere. Comfy beds, beautiful rooms, lovely showers. The Aircon was a little noisy/too powerful for my liking and it was a shame you could not sit out on your Bure verandah. These are just small comments to offer up on what was an unforgettable stay. A big Thankyou to Ledge(?), Lavinia and Ken and the other staff whose names we did not learn for making it a truly memorable experience for us.

The Fiji Orchid is like a welcome oasis. The food is very good but the staff is even better. The Burres are a perfect blend of modern and romantic with hardwood everywhere but aluminum frame for the tent structure. The gardens are manicured well with a hint of wild left. The bed, bathroom and seating were perfect. We stayed 2 nights when we first arrived in fiji to adjust from the long flight, and it was the perfect start to our vacation.

This is a great place to have some peaceful relaxation. It is very intimate. Perfect for small layovers on the big island or as a base for day trips/expeditions. A little difficult to get in and out of so plan on hiring drivers or renting a car. No great beach nearby so if you are staying for a few days you will want to plan a day trip if beach/ocean time is your jam.

The Fiji Orchid is a nice choice for those who want to get away from it all on Viti Levu. About 25 kms from the Nadi airport and city of Nadi, the grounds are lush, the bures beautiful and clean, the staff are attentive and friendly, and the food good. There are drawbacks, unfortunately. If you don’t have a car you have to rely on their driver service or taxis. We were charged $45 FJD for a trip to Nadi one way and another $45 to Port Denarau where our ferry to the Yasawa Islands left from. The property has a pool but is not on a beach. The closest one is public and we were told we probably shouldn’t use it. So another $90 FJD one way to Natadola Beach (which was gorgeous). We didn’t get to Suva which was a quoted $200 FJD one way. So while we do recommend the Orchid it’s advisable to plan out your transportation options in advance.

This place is a delight. The accommodation is situated in amongst lovely gardens and you feel secluded in your own space. The rooms are top class as is the service from the staff. Breakfast in the lodge was like stepping back into old world class. The Fiji is located away from the main road and not near the beach, but for a different experience, we would highly recommend it.

If you are wanting to get away for some rest & relaxation and don’t want the crowds of the larger resorts, this boutique hotel is ideal. With only 6 bures nestled among lush gardens that run throughout the property, the Orchid has a lovely relaxed feel to it. The property is six stunning, quiet villas surrounded by immaculate gorgeous grounds filled with flowers and orchids. The swimming pool is large, quiet and beautiful. The villas are large, comfortable with a fabulous modern bathroom with large shower. The food is not as great as the property, but was good. But my experience in Fiji has shown me that the food in general is not so great. The service was excellent. There is a beach next door to the hotel. I did not go over to check it out. I would recommend this place for anyone needing a few nights to stay before leaving from Nadi or upon arriving in Nadi. It's a 15 minute drive to the airport. They provide transfers and free breakfast, which was the best meal of the day.

Small hotel with interesting history concerning Raymond Burr, actor who played Perry Mason and Ironside. 6 rooms in beautiful gardens. Spacious, excellent bathroom and shower. Staff fantastic and extremely welcoming. Good food and we dined either on our own or a maximum of four others occupying two of the other 5 rooms available. Beautiful open air dining area overlooking orchids. This area was an extension of a large lounge with antique furniture and gentle music predominantly old american jazz. Immensely relaxing.
