Resort needs improvement in general.
Staff is great but owner should invest some money in renovation. It’s small island so it has so much potential especially to look and feel like luxury but it’s far from that . As adults only I was expecting more. Looking at the photos which are advertised you would think it’s heaven on earth but it’s far from that . Nature is beautiful but that’s about it .

One restaurant can be enough if done right.

Been to Fiji many times but this resort unfortunately is not somewhere where i would like to visit again.

Breakfast-It was good but could be better. The dish delivered was not as described on the menu. Some major components of the dish were missing making it just plain and disappointing.
Apart from Breakfast ALL the other meals and service was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
All the seafood dishes were absolutely fabulous.

Peaceful and serene atmosphere
Beautiful beach to chill next to, or take a paddle board/kayak out
Outdoor shower and pond in room
No wifi and TV in rooms was a nice touch
Cons:
Value for money - this is not a cheap resort, and it isn't reflected in the experience
Food - 90% of the dishes we ordered were just not tasty
Rooms - the beds were terrible: the mattress was uncomfortable, the pillows were too big
Cleaning - we had to ask for our rooms to be cleaned twice during our stay

The staff here go above and beyond to make you feel like family.
Although everyone goes for the beachfront bure the hidden gem is the deluxe pool bure, this sits above all the other accommodation and has a completely private pool surrounded by greenery.
The food is excellent, every meal, breakfast, lunch & dinner was amazing.

Room with own pool was nice with outdoor and indoor bathroom. The massage was amazing with a view of the ocean. Disappointed there was no catamarans and only 1 restaurant for dinner (same menu for both locations) not enough variety. Quality of the food was average for the prices and extremely slow service. Over an hour wait for dinner to be served. Staff are very nice but let down by the dining experience.

The only thinng I wish would have been different is more menu choices for meals. If you stay more than 4 days I think you will get bored of the same choices for food. I wish I had an option to order a steak or a Yasawa lobster. Also make sure you get all of the menues for lunch.

This place is absolutely amazing! Do not hesitate….just book this resort if you are going to Fiji. The staff is so incredibly friendly and genuine. The food is delicious and the portions are almost too big. Snorkeling off the shore is spectacular and especially awesome over by Rock Island, a quick kayak trip away. I have never felt more welcomed or appreciated as a hotel guest. I had to hold back tears when it was time to leave the beauty of the island and the Fijian hospitality. We will be back, Tropica!!! A stunning island for an adults only break. Lovely service from fantastic staff. Great food options, clean, comfortable bure's, we had our own plunge pool, but it was only a few steps to the sandy beach. The water was clear and tropical fish just off the beach. Stay here if you want to be well looked after and a quiet and relaxing holiday!

4 out of the 5 nights I stayed in Tropica Island Resort, there was no water between 10pm and around 7 am. The staff were not able to provide reliable information on what was happening and kept giving different responses. There was no announcement in advance or proper communication. The other aspects of the stay were good; however, I can't give a high rating to this place because the guests should not flush their toilets with pool water during nighttime or be unable to take a late shower.

Tropica Resort is a gorgeous place for couples who seek serenity. The food at the restaurant is delicious - breakfast in particular is superb. The beachfront bungalows are fantastic with picturesque views. If you’re looking to go off the grid, this is a perfect spot for you (WiFi only available in the restaurant area).

On the other hand, activities are limited and dependent on capacity, so day trips can be canceled at the last minute. The water sports equipment (kayaks, snorkels, stand-up boards) is pretty dated with missing parts and cracks. And don’t expect a vast property to explore on nature hikes.

The Tropica team are exceedingly friendly, although we did have some issues with the pace of service that is beyond “island time”.

All in all, a lovely resort.

Great place to go to and unwind. We stayed in the Sanctury Pool Suite. Very nice and roomy. Wouldnt bother booking the ocean view ones for the price difference unless you really want an ocean view as they are smaller and seem older inside (going by the one our friend was in). Alcoholic cocktails were a bit hit and miss with taste, they need to improve on that. Happy hour prices werent much cheaper than the usual prices which was disappointing. Staff were absolutely wonderful. Wil go back again

Absolutely wonderful staff that do their best, great size bure's, comfy bed, outdoor shower and good air conditioning as well as fan. A small, quieter resort with no kids, and food is excellent once/if it turns up as it is apparent staffing levels are not optimal. The resort is closing for 2 months in January 2024 for well overdue maintenance (both water and power outages occurred during our 4 night stay). Fabulous snorkeling trips at Garden Reef and off Honeymoon Island.

The staff here made our stay lovely. They are friendly and attentive. The rooms are excellent, daily activities well run. Beautiful outlook for a relaxing holiday. The only thing I would change is that the dinner menu either needed more variety or to be changed during the week. If you are staying for a week you might end up eating the same thing a couple of nights. It is delicious though!

I can’t say enough about Tropica. From the minute we stepped off the boat, the amazing staff worked so hard to make sure we had everything we needed. It had been raining when we arrived so they seated us and brought a pot of hot coffee! We were greeted by name daily, often with a good morning hug. We celebrated our 25th anniversary with the amazing staff and left feeling like family!

Especially the food menu and food quality were poor. Beverage service less than satisfactory. Nice rooms, but sparse, basic, tired and furniture not overly comfortable. No real beach. Lack of basic activities e.g sailing. Over rated.

The positives: beautiful island with warm sea water, luscious vegetation and lovely individual bures (single room huts).

The negatives: food quality was poor at best and service slow. The staff were superficially polite but, given the prices involved and hence the quality of service expected, lacked basic knowledge and gave wrong answers at times (e.g. menu descriptions, activities available, ferry costs). Some building equipment at the edge of the resort somewhat ruined the vibe also.

With some improvement this could be an excellent resort. But I’m afraid, as it stands, I would not recommend it.

My husband and I stayed at Tropica Island resort for part of our honeymoon and we wish we had stayed there the whole time! The staff are so lovely! They made us feel like we were apart of their family for the two nights we were there. They made our honeymoon definitely one to remember and we will definitely be back to visit one day in the future 💕
We thought being a small island/resort that we wouldn’t have much to do there apart from relax however they organise activities that you can choose to partake in if you wish. The room and facilities were modern and clean, and the food was absolutely delicious! I could not fault this resort at all. Highly recommend :)

Tropica is a beautiful, secluded and quiet resort. I loved the fact that there weren't too many people. The staff are just amazing, making you feel welcome and loved. Beautiful singing everyday, beautiful food and cocktails and an amazing view... what more could you want. There is nothing really 'flashy' about this resort compared to others, but if you are looking for a peaceful break away surrounded by beautiful people and location, Tropica is the place to go.... it's like coming home

This could be a great resort. Unfortunately, they are not ready to re-open. We spent three nights here on a romantic trip in July 2022.

We were greeted by Sonny on arrival, who shook hands with everyone on the incoming boat in a long line. Closed for two years from Covid, seemed to have learned nothing.
Later that afternoon, I kept noticing Sonny stifling a cough and sniffles, and every time he saw us he tried to high five us and shake hands. We had two weeks to go on our trip, and I began just avoiding him (not easy).

The rooms and public areas are really dirty, and the ceiling fan in the room was just plain missing. Staff offered a standing floor fan after we complained about not being able to sleep well. It was covered in rust and filth, and no effort was made to make it presentable. Management suggested the a/c would be good enough, not understanding that we didn't travel to the tropics to sleep with the windows closed and the a/c on.

The food was passable, but every time we'd sit down to eat the staff would come by and want to shake hands right before we eat. Then, we'd have to get up and wash our hands, and before we could have any food Sonny or some other staff would notice us and come over to shake hands again. The amount of hand-shaking expected of you here is laughable, considering the COVID-PLUS HOTEL signs up in the restaurant and lobby. Clearly, there has been no training whatsoever.

No discount was offered for the lack of a ceiling fan.

The service was much better than some of the 5 star, well known resorts we stayed at, as was the food and activities. We were really upset leaving as we had such an amazing time!

Just got back from visiting Tropica Island Resort for a week and had a wonderful time. My wife and I visited from Jan 17-24, 2020 and from the moment we arrived until we left we were treated like family. All the staff were friendly and greeted you any time you walked by. The resort grounds were clean and well kept. You could do as little as you like and just relax, or if you wanted to do something all you had to do was ask.

Nice and close to the mainland. Not a beach resort. Plunge pools are a nice addition.

Beware of “beachfront pool bure”. We booked this as we wanted to splurge however upon arrival we were taken to a room that was definitely not beach front. Quite clearly behind other rooms with no sight of beach and barely view of the water. The porter was also aware that guests often complain about the false advertising of this room. I complained to reception however it took 3 days to rectify. We were not given a discount on our rooms. For this fact we would not return. Other than this, the staff were lovely, food was decent.

Came here to celebrate my honeymoon with my new wife. Resort was pleasant and the people were amazing. We had a pool bure which meant we had a private pool in our front deck. Was very nice but wish it was heated. The butler that was assigned to our room, Eva, was amazing. Activities here are limited which was the only bummer. Breakfast is included which is a plus

Very pleasant resort; easily accessible by boa and welcoming staff. Pleasant beach side accommodation. Food was good but options may get slightly limited options for longer stays (were there just for 3 days). Beach is not perfect White Sands but water great to snorkel in with decent coral to see right off the jetty. Fun also to canoe / paddle board around water there too. Overall would certainly recommend as part of a trip to Fiji.

We have enjoyed our stay at Tropica. We have met Noni, the friendliest and most genuine people in the world right there. Thank you my friend! We enjoyed our excursion to the village and snorkeling trip to sandbank, honeymoon island, castaway wall and monuriki island. Our guide were great and looked after us very well during all of the trips. We also loved snorkeling at the house reef. It is very lively if you could swim out further along the reef edges. We loved our bure. It is just what you need for a beach holiday, clean and close to the water. The beach is very rocky, not the sandy beach that you would have imagined. I recommend bringing the reef shoes, then you will find it a lot easier to go in and out of the water for water sport and snorkeling.
We did not enjoyed the foods. The breakfast buffet has very very limited options and almost the same everyday. The breakfast a la carte menu is ok, not great, safest option is Tropica big breakfast. Dinner menu is very pricey. Foods itself is small in size and lacking of flavour. Food generally looked better than it tastes. We have skipped some lunch and dinner in the restaurant and rather have the in bure dinning. Spa is great. Vika and Sesillia were amazing and always carried a big smile. Other spa staffs are hit and missed in term of massaging skills. Overall, the resort is quiet and thoughtfully cater for adults only and we have had a nice and relaxing holiday here. Thank you!

We stayed in a beachfront pool Bure, which was simply amazing.

The private pool was a definite highlight of our trip. However, I should note that although it is a ‘private’ pool, it’s not private from other guests and staff as it is located at the front of the Bure where people regularly walk past.

The complimentary sunset hour drinks were a great way to meet other guests while enjoying the stunning daily sunsets.

The day spa is beautiful and the treatments were fantastic. We signed up for the welcome package which included six treatments for about $360FJD - such a good deal. Daily spa treatments are the perfect way to feel zen and relaxed.

The resort organise daily activities, such as volleyball and bowls etc which are fun if you want to get involved. We enjoyed the complimentary kayaks and snorkeling too.

The menu changes daily and the food is beautiful but it is very expensive. There is no option on the island, but to dine at the resort restaurant so would suggest taking a bit of duty free and some room snacks. Although the food is great, you are limited at times I.e they theme some nights, such as ‘curry night’ so if you don’t like curry you will feel restricted.

What really makes this resort is the staff. They are so incredibly friendly and fun, yet professional. They greet you with an amazing welcome on the jetty and all know you by name within a day! They stop and chat when they see you out and about and truly make you feel welcome x

Staff is so friendly and helpful! Very attentive and accommodating to all needs. Sometimes kayaks or snorkel gear was limited and therefore we could not do certain activities at a specific time, but overall so many other options to keep you busy. I would recommend bringing your own snorkel gear, however, if you own it. Food was delicious and in abundance! The adults only section was very peaceful and quiet, easy to relax and had plenty of poolside seating as well as dining area and bar.

Great sense of tranquility after spending four nights at a very busy Denarau resort.
Fantastic hospitality - made to feel very welcome - staff couldn't do more.
We stayed in a sanctuary suite and although this is the cheapest accommodation type we would highly recommend.
The food wasn't consistently great but we did have some lovely meals.

Lizards in the room we checked in. They were on the bed pillows. We checked another room aswell, but we saw lizards there as well. Over all, itwas terrible experience! We checked out with in 1 day, even though we had booking for 3 days. Manager was justifying that lizards are very common. We didn't had this issue in another resort we stayed (at least in the room).

Also, my credit card details were taken with out telling me that some advance anount will be deducted. They did deduct additional amount apart from my expenses and upon calling the office, they mentioned the additional amount will be refunded back. This is a scam resort.

Nice size, about 16 little beach houses. In good condition, clean and very friendly staff. Reef in front of beach and larger reef reachable by cano. Food good, but plating sometimes is taking priority over technique; still very good overall experience.

Tropica is an excellent island get away for couples, the staff are excellent and very caring. The food is 1st class, the accomodation is great very clean, nothing is a trouble for them. You can do as much as you like or as little as you like, as it is a small resort of about 28 Bures you never really see anyone until happy hour or meal times

WOW WOW WOW! Seriously! I am not bothered to write reviews much but this place was amazing. From the first moment we stepped off the seaplane to the last moment hopping onto the boat. Tropica was pretty hard to fault! The food was first class, the people the friendliest we've met and that view, well you cant beat that! We cant wait to return

The staff is amazing. The friendliness and level of attention to detail is unmatched. We stayed at the beach pool burre and had an amazing view. The prices are too expensive, that’s about the only downfall. Otherwise, beautiful scenery and lots to discover by kayak and snorkeling.

Amazing staff!!!!

My stay was AMAZING!!!! Very quiet! The staff is VERY friendly. EVERYONE you meet or pass will greet you with a smile, hand waving and BULA! Best Holiday Ever!

Had an amazing time. Best holiday ever made special by staff at resort who treats you like family and goes out of their way to make it a memorable one. They live up to their motto of \"home away from home\". I stayed in a lovely Beachfront Bure. Plenty of activities. Some of my favourites were Bocce game, pool volleyball, Fijian night, village tour, history lesson, weaving, bonfire, fish feeding and snorkeling. You can go on picnics and there's lot more you can enjoy. Do as much as you want or as little as you want. Perfect location! Little paradise by the ocean.. It was sad leaving the island! A big thank you to all the staff that became my second family. 💖
I will definitely be going back. Recommend it to all whether you are couples or traveling solo...

so much fun, the people make this place.
beautiful location.
just relax and enjoy Fiji time.
it does need some equipment upgrades.
and sometimes staff forget to show up to activities
but its easily resolved by reminding them.
beach and coral need some improvement (too many rocks)
and the food / drink / activity prices are quite expensive vs comparable resorts.
but we still had a fantastic time for a week, would go back.

Always tip the staff

The staff make this place what it is.
The food is not fantastic but you can go to other islands.
The staff are paid only $2 an hour and they work very hard to meet all your needs.
They would never expect to be tipped but trust me it goes a very long way.
Nicest people in the world.

Great location, friendly staff, excellent food

An intimate resort, where we were treated as family. The food was excellent, staff were friendly and everyone from the gardeners to chefs introduced themselves to us. We lazed around the pool, kayaked in the clear waters, fed the fish, snorkelled on the coral and dived off the deep water pontoon. The Fijian night was amazing and the sunset cocktails and trivia were great fun. We hope to return.

Due the resort being on an island, there is only one place to eat. There are designated meal times (7am-9am; 12pm-2pm; 7pm-9pm) and there is no access to food or snacks in between meals. Although the staff were very friendly, be careful if you have food allergies/intolerances as I had to send back some of meals in the first three days as my allergies were not accounted for. As days progressed, staff finally accommodated for my allergies, however If I was not vigilant, the holiday would have been a disaster as there is no access to a hospital. The meals were extremely overpriced and the prices certainly did not reflect the sample meals as listed on Tropica's website. Unfortunately when you are there, you have no choice but to eat at the expensive resort. Prices for lunch ranged between $25-30 AUD and $60-65 AUD for dinner. Not to mention the buffet breakfast only includes pastries, cereal and fruit; hot food such as eggs and bacon are extra $$$. I would recommend bringing snacks (either from the port or Nadi) prior to travelling to the resort as we found that we were often hungry as meal portions were small. In order to stick to a reasonable budget, we only scheduled one day activity as the activities were also very pricey. At the end of our trip, both myself and my sister got gastro and although we cannot decipher what caused the bug, it definitely left a bad taste...(excuse the pun).

The accommodation is very good ,vertyspacious. Staff are very good. It is a small number of adults only resort. There is virtually no beach . Snorkelling from the jetty is OK, not as good as some other resorts. Any excursions are vastly overprice compared to other resorts. Food is good.
You pay extra for breakfast other than the basic. Other meals ,Lunch and Dinner are VERY expensive.. Drinks are expensive other than happy hour..

Beautiful peaceful location. Great for a relaxing adult getaway. Would definitely recommend if in need of some R&R. Staff are very friendly. Nightly happy hour is entertaining. The beachfront bure was wonderful. Very quiet and intimate.

Excellent Location and Amazing staff

This was our second visit to Tropica. The resort is surrounded by a natural reef which makes it perfect spot for snorkelling and kayaking. Staff are very friendly and make you feel as a part of their family. Excellent activities, however a bit expensive when compared to other resorts in the vicinity. The variety, quality and value for food and drinks is good.

Perfect hotel to relax.

It was a true holiday, so peaceful and relaxing. The staff treated us like family, true to their welcoming speech. We loved the fact that there was no television, no radio, no cars just the singing and guitar playing of the staff with their fantastic voices. The food and presentation was first class. We were spoiled by the staff with a wonderful birthday and anniversary celebration by the pool, which we will never forget.

A really lovely small resort with fantastic staff, great pool and optional activities and excursions to other parts of Fiji. Food was varied, delicious and the menu changed daily.You arrive a stranger and leave as one of the family. Highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing holiday. Only negative is the beach which is quite rocky - but the pool more than makes up for it.

Wonderful luxurious place to completely relax!

Had an amazing time. The staff, hotel & restaurant are fantastic. Only one minor issue was that the boat sails were being repaired the week of our stay, so no sailing which was something I was looking forward to. The other activities made up for it though.
Best to get a beach bure as the resort rooms are not too bad, but can't compare to the beachfront rooms.

Fading gem but a gem nonetheless

As locations go, this is spectacular and the staff are simply outstanding. Their passion and geniuneness for their culture and the resort has to be experienced to be believed.
The resort itself however is looking a bit tired and really needs a bit of TLC. Water equipment is in poor repair and not enough to go round; 2 SUPs, 4 canoes and 1 working catamaran doesn't cut it for 40 odd people.
Meals are adequate but unspectacular.
Bures are a must to make the most of this location.
