For the price we paid (€700 per night) didn’t feel like we really got our moneys worth. First they put us in an apartment that wasn’t even connected to the hotel, was a 4 min walk down the street?! As in had to walk to and from for breakfast or pool access. Was clearly just an apartment they bought at some point and put overflow in. They were surprised when we requested a room in the actual hotel because “the view is so great in the apartment” as if that made up for them putting us in a f**king apartment down the street. Upon moving us to the actual hotel the new room was even smaller. I guess we just paid for the proximity to the city center? Idk, felt like we were in a €200-€300 per night but paid 3x that. Disappointed. The hotel itself wasn’t bad just not at all up to expectations of Ritz Carlton level pricing.

Wonderful old grand hotel in an excellent location.
Received a warm welcome and professional service from all the staff members.
The pool area is a haven from the modern world with ample sun loungers and umbrella shade.
Our room (65) backed directly onto the road at pavement level, however the layout of the room meant that there was very little noise in the main bedroom and sleep was completely unaffected.
Furnishings were generally in very good order with just a few signs of wear and tear.

Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend

Hotel Villa Belvedere is definitely the best hotel we have ever stayed in. From the road it does not look exceptional but INSIDE & from the grounds it is beautiful. Fantastic terraced gardens down the hillside & a beautiful pool with an excellent poolside restaurant serving food until 5pm. Sensibly they do not offer dinner but will recommend & book local restaurants - of which there are a great multitude within short walking distance. The hotel is only about a 15 minute walk from the Corso Umberto - ideal location.
We stayed in the annexe 100m along the road which consists of small apartments including sitting area and kitchenette - very comfortable and spacious. Fantastic view of Etna & the coast from our balcony.
Super breakfast & there is a chef on hand to cook anything you want over and above the considerable buffet choices.
The staff were fantastic and arranged customised excursions for us to mount Etna and a boat trip from Naxos.
The hotel can also arrange transfers to & from Catania airport - which is a safer & better option than using a travel agent.
Highly recommended.

Beautiful family property that is immaculately maintained. The breakfast was enough to keep us full through to dinner. Pool was clean and refreshing. The staff went out of their way to make our stay awesome. Located within walking distance of everything. They packed us a travel breakfast the day we left at 5:45 am so we would have something on our 3 hour dive to Palermo. One key though, if driving there, use Google Maps vs WAZE . You will have a better experience finding the location on a one way street.

If you are looking for an oasis then stay here. Everything about Hotel Villa Belvedere is spectacular: the breath-taking view, gorgeous decor, peaceful and stunning pool area, kind, patient and helpful staff, The location is also fantastic as you can easily walk to many sites: bars, restaurants, beach, etc. Our breakfast was delicious! It was heavenly to sit out on the deck sipping a cappuccino each morning. I would highly recommend this family owned establishment. We had a wonderful stay!

Just had a wonderful week with my two adult children. Extremely beautiful hotel that lives up to all its glowing reviews. Lovely location with stunning views and a few minutes from central town and next to a park which is lovely to stroll through. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The only thing missing was a box of tissues in the rooms! Very quiet rooms, but the air con units are quite loud, but needed in the heat! The hotel food was excellent with delicious breakfasts (and beautifully served by Rita and the staff there) and the restaurant by the pool was fabulous for lunches. The staff throughout the hotel were amazingly kind and helpful and a special thanks to Rita and the man in the hotel bar who served us cocktails each evening.
For anyone that finds it hard to swim in cold water, the pool is not heated. I expect in the summer once it's been warmed up by the sun, it would be lovely. But it was freezing cold for us. Otherwise the mostly lovely stay and highly recommended!

The Hotel Belvedere is an excellent choice to stay In Taormina, Sicily. The property is perfectly located for easy access to shopping and restaurants. The hotel amenities are also excellent. And, the attention from the Staff stands above all other hotels. As an example, upon our arrival, there were four in our party, the host directed us to a sitting area, offered us a Pinot Grigio, and then took the time to orient us to the town, the restaurants, the shopping and the sites to see. What an excellent way to be welcomed.

The staff is very nice.

Our room smelled funny. It was pretty hot in the room one of the days. We thought maybe it was because it was hot. We tried to turn the air conditioning on, but they have the air-conditioning shut off. The only option was heat. They told us to open the window. We were right by the street so that really wasn’t great but it was the only option. We realized the problem is actually that the bathroom smelled funky. If we kept the bathroom door closed all the time the room did not smell bad but the bathroom smelled even worse. It must come from the drains because we noticed that the cleaning staff always closed the bathtub and sink drains.

The location was okay. It’s a bit of a walk to the city center. There was no restaurant for dinner so had to leave the hotel. Unfortunately it was rainy and cold so that was kind of miserable. There are no amenities except a pool.

This was a wonderful property. From the time we arrived to the time we left the staff were wonderful, helpful and responsive . The room had a beautiful patio with incredible views. The area of the hotel is about a 5 min walk from the main shopping and dining street, which we appreciated. It’s also close to the lovely park.
We would highly recommend this hotel.

We had the most beautiful stay at Hotel Villa Belvedere. We arrived late in the day after missing a flight. They had a concierge outside waiting to meet us and valet our car. We were warmly welcomed with a glass of wine and shown to our beautiful room. The rooms were comfortable and clean with everything we needed. The pool area was gorgeous and the sun loungers were comfortable. The breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea was lovely. Breakfast had a generous spread. The location was perfect. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted. We would return here again and again. You will love your stay!

Excellent place to stay in Taormina.. it was very modern like Miami Vice. It was across the street about 100ft away from the main building. I only wished we would have stayed in the old hotel which looked much cooler.. we parked up the street for €25 a day saved us €20 a day..
don’t forget to stop at the coop, which is the grocery store. Will also save you a ton of money..
next door is a laundromat, which was perfect. Just watch out and ask for the price first before doing your laundry..

Let me start by saying that the view from our room was stunning!!! the location of the hotel is excellent very close to the greek theater.
We got a room in the ANEX. The bathroom in that room is very small and uncomfortable, literally one can barely fit inside the shower. Very disappointing when one is spending 600 euros a night. That bathroom belongs to a 2 or 3 star hotel!
We mentioned this to the manager at check out. He was very receptive and nice and gave us a 10% discount and free parking (45 euros a day).
If you stay in this beautiful hotel make sure to stay away from the ANEX.

My partner and I stayed at the Villa Belvedere for a week in August 2025. The Villa Belvedere is absolutely beautiful, set in stunning gardens overlooking the bay, a short walk to the centre of Taormina.

Hotel Villa Belvedere is an absolute gem, oozing with charm and elegance. The hotel is located only a short walk to all the main restaurant ,shopping and other attractions. The meticulously maintained hotel offers a luxurious retreat, with pristine linens, flawless service, and immaculately kept grounds. On arrival we were greeted by with a glass of wine and shown a map of the area and excursion options. We were then show to our stunning room. Room 25, with its own private balcony with jaw dropping views. The delightful breakfast is a buffet style with many delicious pastries along with the traditional scrambled eggs, bacon, cereals, the terrace or inside offering panoramic views of the bay. The hotel offers old-world elegance, modern comforts, breath taking views, wonderful service, friendly and attentive staff, immaculately clean rooms. I will be recommending The Hotel Villa Belvedere to all my family and friends. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

This was our second stay at Villa Belvedere. We opted for the Sea Facing room with a terrace. It was wonderful.

The terrace had an outstanding view which included sight of Etna!

The room has been upgraded with a large Smart TV.

Their breakfast buffet is without pier with wonderful and unexpected extras such as premier pastries and specialties such as homemade Arancinies!

The pool complex was beautiful and lounge chairs plentiful and very comfortable.

Finally, the main avenue of Taromina is a short walk from the hotel.

We WILL return!

I upgraded to one of the studios which was a new experience for me but I enjoyed the view, the privacy, and having access to a kitchenette where I could keep snacks and whatnot. Maybe because they were refurbishing, but I was disappointed that there wasn’t a restaurant or bar on site to get a quick breakfast. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating.

We stayed in an apartment that I think isn't apart of the main hotel. It is off-season so the main hotel was closed. The view is incredible and makes you feel like you never want to leave. It felt like staying at an apartment more than a hotel since there isn't concierge or anything like that. I would recommend for anyone to say here as you can't beat the location.

Have just returned from an amazing stay at the Hotel Villa Belvedere. The best thing about this hotel is the location, just far enough from the main hustle and bustle atmosphere of Taormina, set in beautiful grounds overlooking the bay of Taormina. You really do feel like you're experiencing a beautiful ornate and authentic Italian villa as a boutique hotel. The hotel is lovely and quiet, no noisy groups around the pool area. Just a lovely tranquil vibe. All the staff are extremely helpful . The lunches at the poolside were lovely. The breakfasts were great as well.
Unfortunately , we had a bad experience with the room ( room 6) we were given. Considering the price we paid for the room per night ( ~£600 per night , which in any other country you could get a 5 star standard of property) , the room was absolutely awful. Old , worn furniture , musty smell. The bathroom was terrible, no space at all and just a shower curtain. We found out after using the shower for the first time that it didn't drain away and flooded the entire bathroom and then into our main room and throughout the corridor. This was the straw that broke the camel's back and we had to complain about the room. The room was of a 1-2 star standard in any other country I have visited. However the hotel did react quickly and cleaned up the flooded area and moved us to another room the following day.
The new room was like a different world completely. A lovely room . We will return and select a different room next.

We loved our stay at the Belvedere. This is a beautiful hotel with Sicilian charm. It is very walkable to the busy streets (~5 minutes), and conveniently tucked away on a relaxing street. Phenomenal views of the sea and a wonderful pool area. The staff were wonderful, extremely helpful and kind. The hotel was very clean.

We stayed at a small apartment that was detached from the main hotel (~2 minute walk). The room was very spacious, modern, with amazing views and easy access to the hotel.

The hotel had one of the best lunches we had during our entire 2 week Italy vacation, that should tell you something! Don’t miss the opportunity to stay at this wonderful hotel, we can’t wait to go back!

In my view, the best hotel by far in Taormina. Perfectly located amidst lush gardens with magnificent views of the sea and bays below. Tastefully furnished with great attention to detail and in a refined and elegant style. Impeccably maintained.

Well appointed and beautifully decorated suite with large garden terrace overlooking the sea. Wonderful breakfast with local delicacies and excellent lunch served by the pool. Staff throughout the hotel were warm, courteous, welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. One had the impression of being a guest in a private residence. I would highly recommend this wonderful hotel and look forward to visiting again.

Trip Of A Lifetime

My gf and i ended our self driven tour of Sicily with three days in Taormina and reserved a modest room at Via Belvedere based on pics and reviews. On arrival we were met by Joshua who informed us that our room had been booked and he was going to upgrade us to a suite. We ended up in The Rock Suite and it was stunning. It was like our own apartment with our own elevator and room service! The most beautiful view each morning from the super comfy bed of vines and flowers hanging from the cliffside that the room is tucked up under making it completely private as well! A fully furnished kitchen leading to a huge balcony with outside shower overlooking the city all the way to the beach. Joshua and his staff were amazing the entire time and made more effort to make us feel special than we deserved. I could write a short story of the help and hospitality provided by the staff. It wrapped up our amazing trip with the best hotel experience i think weve ever had! If i would have known it was going to go so well i would have proposed! Thanks Joshua!

The hotel was perfectly located and an easy walk to dining, shops, beach and sites. The front desk staff were very helpful and courteous and accomodating to all our needs and questions. Parking your car is a bit tough but that is true everywhere in Taoromina.

We had a room with a balcony facing the ocean that was perfect. The room itself was clean and in great condition. (And i am a very fussy traveler!) The breakfast buffet was full of local foods and open late in the morning for those \"sleep in\" days. The bar was always open, pool service and bar staff were great and the pool was in a great location, in excellent condition and never crowded. We were very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel Belvedere sits just steps down the street from the old town, with lovely views of the ocean below. The staff greeted us with Prosecco and smiles, and offered wonderful dining recommendations. Every restaurant they suggested was fabulous! Breakfast choices were vast, and the bar offered some local speciality drinks.

We stayed in the more modern rooms just to the north of the main hotel. The views of the sea and Etna from the balcony were just incredible. Very friendly and helpful staff at this family-run hotel.

Wonderful Belvedere!

Amazing hotel! We had a beautiful room which they upgraded without adding charges. Breakfast was divine. The place is full of art, ceramics, flowers and nice people. Christian, manager, is so kind. He makes the best aperol spritzer ever! Thank you!

Hotel Villa Belvedere is perfectly located for your Taormina stay. Immediately adjacent to a beautiful garden, it is also within walking distance to wonderful restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. To work off your breakfast and earn your dinner, there is a great walking trail up to Castelmola and another down to Isola Bella. Also tempting, to enjoy an afternoon at their pool and relax. The staff will help you with anything you need. This was a very memorable visit!

Hotel was wonderful. Really nice breakfast. Staff was incredibly helpful. Ask them to make your dinner reservations when you arrive or make before you arrive because they do not serve dinner. Also if you are driving just know when you arrive to run in and ask them to park the car- it’s not for the basic driver. We loved our stay- great location and beautiful property.

I can't say enough great things about this hotel! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family in this family-owned jewel of Taormina. We were immediately offered a glass of Prosecco, as our reception host sat with us and went over all of the hotel's services and amenities. After that, we were personally escorted to our room, and a dinner reservation was immediately confirmed for us at a nearby restaurant. Our room was gorgeous, clean and beautifully appointed, with a terrace that overlooked both the pool and the sea. Breathtaking view! The breakfast buffet, with terrace seating, was the highlight of each morning, and the poolside restaurant (open only for lunch) served some of the finest food we ate in all of Taormina. In a world where the small details of hospitality are slowly going by the wayside, it is encouraging to see them so beautifully preserved within the walls of this hotel. We will definitely be recommending this experience (for that is what it was) to everyone, and hope to visit this lovely, magical hotel in the future!
