The room at Woodland Motel was clean and spacious. We stayed with our two dogs and they brought them doggie beds! There was baseball fields and Riverwalk right across from motel. Short walk to downtown. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Motels get a bad rap but this is exactly the kind of place you want to stay in a small town. It’s a cutie little place which is family owned- and you can tell because they clearly put a lot of love and effort put into the small details. Including freshly ground coffee in the rooms. It’s about a 12 minute walk to the main town area and on NYE which we walked both ways but pedicab ride by and offered us a ride which surprised me as an option in such a small town, there’s also a taxi company too if mobility is an issue. We were only here for one night but if we find ourselves back in Salida we will definitely stay here again!

This hotel was a short half mile walk into downtown Salida which has restaurants and shops along the Arkansas river. The two bed room on the 2nd floor was spacious and included a microwave and refrigerator. The hot tub at the hotel was small but we enjoyed relaxing in it on a cool day. There was a coffee pot in the room, but the amount of coffee provided was not enough to brew a full pot. The lobby didn't open until 8am daily. Being a hotel with likely many guests having to leave early in the morning, I think the lobby should've opened no later than 7am.

We loved the location, flowers, and feel upon check in. The hot tub was also a great feature. The coffee maker in the room was nice given we're early risers, but after making 2 cups of weak coffees with the small amount of grounds provided in mini-Tupperwares, we were eager to tuck into the hot coffee promised in the lobby at 8am. Sadly, the lobby door was locked at 8am and still at 8:03am, ultimately leaving us no choice but to drive into town to purchase our own coffee grounds. 8am already seemed a tad late for making lobby coffee available, but goodness--you better have it available right at 8am!

Older but good

This is an older facility that is lovingly taken care of. I have stayed there several times. There is a wide variety of types of rooms and floor plans. Although they mention breakfast, it is prepackaged snacks in the office that are available at any time. I visit Salida regularly and this is my go to for a motel.

Felt like nothing was too much trouble.
In the room there were two folding luggage stands stored on brackets. The bathroom was tight but adequate but I thought the gentle night light was a great feature too often overlooked by so-called top end hotels meaning I wasn’t blasted by a bright light in the middle of the night.

I haven't stayed at the Woodland for 30 years until recently. It was well-managed then and superbly managed now. The staff were friendly, engaging, and gracious. The accommodations uber clean. Local coffee in the room! Well-behaved dogs welcome (they offer dog beds & bowls if needed). A nostalgic, comfortable, AND affordable stay within easy walking distance to downtown Salida and 100 yards from a river walk system. The free cruiser bikes were a pleasant surprise though it was snowing and we did not use them. It's an older building, so it's not 'fancy.' If fancy is primary, check out other digs. We look forward to another stay

Salida’s Local Gem

Locally-owned hotel with a cozy atmosphere - the employees are very friendly, there’s someone on site at all times, and the room condition was great! I’m not sure why it’s not mentioned but the two dooubles room has a mini-fridge with a freezer, a microwave, a coffee maker (that included local coffee, sugar, and creamer), a table large enough for four people with chairs, a TV, and clothes line built into the shower. They even had a spill kit under the sink! These people thought of everything! There’s also a community jacuzzi, vending machines and an ice machine behind closed doors (locked with tenant code access), and bikes on site to rent. Great rooms for a great price!

The one downside was the bathroom fan was VERY loud and its linked to the light. The heater was also noisy but not as bad.

This was a great little motel on the edge of town. If motivated one can even walk into town. Hot tub was nice after skiing. Enjoyed our stay there.

Anytime we stay in salida we tend to stay at the woodland motel, family owned and a clean and wonderful place. I appreciate the hospitality and the convenience of the location close to restaurants, shopping.

Don't let the exterior fool you.

This older facility appears to have been purchased by a family in the past three or four years. Our room showed new flooring and fresh paint. It was in excellent condition. It was evident that they were working to upgrade the facility. This was one of the cleanest rooms I have ever experienced while pet-friendly. To keep rooms in good shape, they do things like providing blankets to put over couches so that your pet can enjoy the sofa while not making it difficult to clean for the next guest. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The kitchen in our unit was small but very usable. This will be our top pick for a motel the next time we are in the area.

It had unexpectedly snowed much more than the forecast, staff shoveled my parking spot and surrounding areas which was so nice since I didn’t have the appropriate gear. They were friendly and I couldn’t have been happier to have a clean safe place to land at the end of a stressful day.

I had spent two nights in a budget chain motel in another city. Two stars. What a breath of fresh air to stay at the Woodland. Friendly service at the front desk. Cute and clean rooms with nice touches all around. Will stay there again!

Love Love Love the Woodland! Despite the entire town's internet being down, I was able to check-in easily. They have a bike lending policy so we could ride bikes to town for dinner. Super fun. Room was re-done, clean, had a full-kitchen which, since I was traveling with fresh garden produce was very helpful. Loved that it wasn't on the commercial strip but is in a north-side neighborhood. It quiets down at night (in our case, a Tuesday night). Clean, well appointed rooms, just a wonderful and perfect stop to rendezvous with a friend for a night. Stay here if you can!

Very nice manager, grab and go breakfast consisting of bags of nuts and granola bars. Tv remote buttons didn’t all work. Room seemed clean but a very musty smell and there were some small bugs, water beetles maybe? I found one in a pillow, on a wall, on the door, in a towel. It is a 2-star hotel, and they do try very hard.
