I go to Salida a few times a year, but had never stayed at the Manhattan until now. It's fantastic. Even the AirBnB's I've stayed in near town aren't quite as good.

Beautiful historic hotel in a perfect location. Plenty of great restaurants and shops within walking distance. The rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable. There is no front desk, so it’s more of an air’b’n’b experience.

The property is as vey nice, clean, easy to engage the check in process. The balcony overlooking the river, *chef’s kiss*! The location was perfect for, and selected for, being able to walk around the main part of downtown. Easy access to shopping and dining. The ONLY real detractor, for us mind you, was that very proximity. The nightlife was vibrant and, well, loud. If you’re into that sort of scene this would be perfect for you. If you go to bed at 9p like us, something to consider. All in all a great place to stay in a great little mountain town.

There is no \"front desk,\" which worked out OK. There are lots of great restaurants nearby. Reaching the room did involve walking up 2 flights of steep stairs, which could be a deterrent for some.

It is a \"non staffed\" hotel but they were responsive and provided all the details we needed to check in and details on the property. You cant find a better location in Salida, its right on the river and in the middle of downtown. Great restaurants, the town square, shopping, etc all within easy walking distance. Cant wait to get back!

Great location and room. The beds are a little soft for me but fine. Located right over and next to a bar/restaurant but had great insulation so noise was never an issue. Beware - no elevator. I had just had hip surgery but I was able to make it up and down the stairs but I had my sons help with luggage. It would be difficult to get luggage up and down those stairs if you weren’t strong.

We have stayed at the Manhattan for several years for Spring Break and other celebratory events, loving Salida and the tradition. This year, we stayed in room 5. Unfortunately the room patio bumps up against the patio for the pizza restaurant providing no privacy. The condition of the rooms have significantly declined in the past year with paint chips and damaged walls throughout. We attempted to enjoy the fresh air with the patio opened, there was a horrible smell of sewer gas and the worst part was what appeared to be dried blood spots on the white comforter. This is definitely not the boutique hotel experience we were hoping for and it is absolutely not the hotel it was when it initially opened.

Great location right on the river and close to everything. Cute and clean. Only complaint was the heat. We set the thermostat at 64 and it was easily 80 in there. Made sleeping difficult, slept with patio door open. I let them know and they sent someone to fix it right away, but it didn’t get fixed. I’ll probably still stay again because the location can’t be beat.

What a nice gem of a hotel in downtown Salida. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and close to everything. We loved our little deck for morning coffee, or afternoon libations. Loved thoughtful amenities, Keurig, microwave, refrigerator, mini Bluetooth speaker, and bath products. Bed was so comfortable! Dined at both the Boathouse and Pizza Rio next door….excellent food! Will stay here again next time I’m in Salida!

The initial entry is a tall stairway: plan for light luggage you can lift yourself! A charming Juliet balcony overlooks the wide & flowing Arkansas River. The interior space is light filled, with simple decor and 2 soft beds. It seemed as if everything charming, lovely, & nourishing in Salida was within walking distance from the Hotel.

The only issue was the autolock on the door. When you leave you should be able to press a button to lock the door. Our lock on #1 wasnt able to do that so we had to stand around until it locked on its own, so we felt comfortable that is was locked.
