This is a charming little motel that’s been updated and now presents one of the better values in Salida. Tidy, generally well kept, and has just the right amenities and a helpful staff to make your stay go smoothly.

This was our third stay at the Amigo over the last year, and we’ll continue to stay there when our travels take us through Salida. The motel is very clean and comfortable, and we always feel safe there. It is easy walking distance to a great brewery and Mexican restaurant (as well as other places worth going to, like the Salida Museum), but it’s a bit farther to the downtown area. You can definitely walk it, but we tend to drive and park a little closer. Staff members are always friendly and helpful, but do be aware that the front desk is not always staffed, so do pay attention to those check in hours and breakfast hours. The breakfast is a nice grab and go assortment of granola bars, oatmeal, tea, and good coffee. They also have chilled water available (free in the office when it is staffed). The decor is fun and funky and guests tend to be friendly, creating a nice environment. The Amigo will continue to be our first choice of a place to stay in Salida.

Cute in a funky retro way, but don’t expect much. I was excited to stay in an airstream, a choice offered along with their regular rooms, but as soon as I walked in i turned right around and decided to take the front desk clerk up on his offer to give me a room if I didn’t like the airstream. I was confused when he said this because the airstream was the entire reason I chose that property and I assumed one of it’s biggest selling points. so when I walked into the room and it too was hot and stuffy, there was no wi-if and an uncomfortable bed with bedding that felt dirty I decided I’d rather drive two and a half hours home then stay. When I brought the key to the room back the clerk didn’t ask me why I was leaving just took the key and said goodbye even though he had checked me in less than fifteen minutes before. Overall I was really disappointed, the best way to describe it is it felt like they were using the excuse of it being “retro” to leave it just this side of a dump.

I stayed in the \"mini\" Airstream named PeeWee. The camper pictures differed somewhat from the actual camper, as it not decorated and . . very minimal, but it was a wonder nice stay overall. The grounds are lovely. Pine trees and a private deck for morning coffee or evening drink. Hot tub, cute common areas. Coffee in morning is great. Centrally located spaces. A a nice quaint travel stop. My reservation was bit confusing and I got booked into the airstream but the staff was kind and helpful and got me a different room that fit my needs better. Very clean, The property itself was well kept in a 1950s theme. Right off the main road but not noisey. It isn't walking distance to downtown but would recommend.

We would absolutely stay here again! We had a late check-in that they were gracious to accommodate and were very responsive. The place is a vibe with all design and decor decisions were all made with purpose from the property to our Pee-Wee Airstream. There were no surprises and the bathrooms for the campers were immaculate. When I finally had a chance to meet a staff member in the morning, she was very kind and helpful. We can’t wait to come back again!

I turned it up to 70 on the thermostat, but it never went above 65. I was pretty cold when I was trying to fall asleep.(it was snowing) I didn't reach out to the staff to fix because it was late- so they may have been able to fix. Just stunk to be cold.

Our biggest concern was feeling cold during the night, but it ended up being warm, so definitely not complaining. Lastly, we weren’t sure how the restroom and shower facilities were going to work as they were outside, but it was SUPER clean and private.

Hot tub water was warm and hot tub was clean. Need a Keurig in the room for coffee. That’d be the only thing I’d suggest.

I liked the platform style bed because it was comfortable and staff can easily vacuum under them. Kudos to the tile setter. FYI on the go breakfast is a choice of B’fast bars and fresh hot coffee.

Really nice upgrade of a classic motel along the Rainbow Highway in Salida. The room was super comfortable with really nice touches. The bathroom was super clean with a nice tub and good water pressure. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows are terrible and need to be replaced (not to mention that they are too small for a king bed). Also, the A/C is far too small for the room, and the room was very warm, so if you need a cool room to sleep, I recommend opening the window, even in the winter. I do wish that they had the top-down, bottom-up shades so you can have privacy with an open window, but I do like the shades they have as they let in a nice, diffuse light. The common area for playing games and just chilling is wonderful, and is great for groups staying in different rooms. The service was awesome and the staff super friendly.

Love this place. They have just the right amount of style, funk, and sass—super fun boutique motel. We stayed in one of the Airstreams. Although you don't have running water, the shared bathrooms were super clean and had everything you needed. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was simple. I wish they had a bit more, but not a deal breaker, since there are a ton of great restaurants in Salida to pick from. Great location too!

Great service!! Super unique. Very clean. You can park your car right next to your room or Airstream. The Airstream Diana had a TV in it and was a very short walk to the very clean and private restrooms. Even on Thanksgiving break we never had to wait for the restrooms. Each one has a toilet and a shower that is private. Salida is such a cute and quaint town. My kid and I took a cool hike on the Sand Dunes trailhead only 10 min. away. They offer water and coffee plus grabbable breakfast. Definitely a hidden gem!!

I stayed in one of the Airstreams. It was very well maintained and updated. It was a little chilly even with the additional space heaters. But still comfortable and fun.

I cannot say enough good things about this property. We stayed in the Merle Airstream and it was amazing. Quiet, comfortable, cozy, relaxing, etc. We sat in the lobby in the hanging chairs and relaxed for a long time.

I travel for work. Always stay with a major chain. That chain isn’t here so rolled the dice at the Amigo. Couldn’t be happier. Clean. That’s first for me. Spacious room. Comfortable. Easy parking. Great staff. Kate is the best. And to top it off as needed grab when you want glass water bottles from the lobby fridge. I’d stay longer but the word is out and no availability for my stay in Salida. Stay here.

I stayed here with my family for a one night stop over on our way to another destination in Colorado. I wanted to stay int he Airstream but it was a bit tight so the front desk let us move to a standard motel room with 2 queen beds.
The rooms weren't fancy, but they worked and the beds, which is the most important to me, were very comfortable. The shower was clean and the water pressure and temp was great too. I'd love to come back and stay in an Airstream when it's just two of us.

I stayed in one of.the Airstreams and it was lovely. The Airstreams do not have water but the bathhouse is very clean and spacious. Staff was lovely.

I liked the staff and the property, very central, only thing we did not like was that we had to walk outside our trailer to go to the bathroom for toilet and shower.
We loved everything else, the whole experience was great, nice and neat and clean.
They have a great hot tub as well.
We would have also liked if they came to clean the room daily or bi daily even, we were there for 4 days and never got clean towels or a made bed, we had to go get towels from the Jacuzzi area.

nice quickie… sleepy in salida
It is super handy and you can tell it is loved. Everything works well and I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was. We slept great and moved on our way!

This place is a real gem. I stayed in an airstream and it was absolutely fabulous. The staff the amenities. The water, grab and go breakfast, coffee, the hot tub. I can’t say enough amazing things about this place

Very cute and unique place. Everything was good except the toilet was not that clean and the shower curtains needed to be replaced. But aside from these 2, everything else was great!
