Room was clean and had everything we needed. Although the nights were cold we stayed nice and warm in our room. Walls are pretty thin you could hear the neighbor talking on the phone and the person on the other end talking back. The last night we were there the neighbor on the other side had their TV on the whole night. Other than that I enjoyed the stay here and have stayed here a few times in the past.

Nasty room, my toddlers feet turned black from being barefoot within first ten minutes of being on the floor, both beds were so dusty, you could smell it. A nasty stained yellow heater to plug in, room was freezing in the middle of the day and wasn’t big enough to heat the room. Left within an hour, dropped keys off in box. Tried calling multiple times to get refund, they won’t answer on purpose. This motel used to be great when the previous owners had it, now it’s really run down, had better luck in a motel in LA. Really sad since they charge a hundred a night, got the room for 60 and some change on hotels.com it wouldn’t have been worth it if they paid me to stay here. Better off going to one of the hostels to stay in town. I’d give zero stars if I could.

Listen, this is a 65 dollar a night motel. If you want all the perks by all means go stay at a 200 dollar a night motel. It was clean, the frig, microwave, TV, AC, heat, coffee maker, ice maker , shower and all the lights worked. And most of all the hot tub was great. I stay here every year for a week in April. Go stay.

If you pay by debit card they WILL charge you $100 on top of what you are paying to Expedia that was not mentioned on Expedia nor did they tell my husband when we checked in. Old motel trying to fix up. Bed was old and low to the ground, pillows were horrible, make sure you close the bathroom door if the curtains are open or everyone will see you. Check the coffee maker before using, ours was filthy and the refrigerator made a horrible noise. Every room has a triangle cut out of the door, so your room will NOT be dark. There is a switch to the outside light that we found later but you will still have quite a bit of light in your room.
But if you are in need of a cheap place to sleep it will work.

Easy check in, but property is run down. Door chipped and beaten up, bathroom window partially shattered, bedding felt dirty. The entire place needs some serious refurbishing. I only stayed for one night because the price was good and it has a cool retro look from the road. But sadly that’s where it ends.

When I went to use the toilet right after checking in, there was poop splatter on the bowl. The rest of the room seemed clean.

After being there for a couple hours with the space heater on high, the room was still only at 60 degrees. I asked the front desk if they had any extras space heaters/rooms available and he said they do not and dropped off an extra blanket. It was a very cold night and my room was 55 in the morning. So cold that the pipes had frozen and I couldn't even take a hot shower to warm up. Had they given me an extra heater (or provided a newer one that wasn't rusted), or just fixed the wall unit in the room, damage to the pipes could have been prevented. I will not be staying here again.

I have stayed at the Circle R before and had a good experience. This time was very different.

The deadbolt on my door wouldn't lock. I didn't feel safe knowing that anyone with the combination code could enter my room. When I asked for a refund the front desk told me she needed to talk to management. I also sent management an email and never heard back.

Also the heating barely worked. They had space heaters in the rooms because they were aware that the heating was \"inadequate.\" How can you ethically rent out hotel rooms without adequate heating in the winter?! My family's room next door also had black mold on the bathroom ceiling.

I ended up leaving and getting a room down the road.

It was a very stressful experience and management is unresponsive.

It was cheap, but it was just enough as far as a place to sleep. Staying there during an arctic front. They need better insulation on the base of the front doors to keep the outside chill from coming in. Heat, tv, fridge, and microwave all worked.Sheets are very thin, so either keep the heat up or bring extra pj’s.

I’ve stayed here about five times over the years, and overall it’s a decent place to stay. It’s very affordable and the rooms are cute, though they can vary quite a bit. In my experience the rooms are usually clean, but the bathrooms and laundry could use more attention. That said, the staff are friendly, and it’s one of the cheapest places you can stay, especially with a hot tub included. If you’re okay with some wear and tear, it’s a good value for the price.

Room was somewhat cute, I.e., retro, but was rather cramped. Sat wooden suitcase rack up and it fell apart. Shower worked great, but bathroom sink fixture was extremely loose. Coffee pot wasn’t plugged in, no great place to set it for operation. Parking was convenient as was check-in & check-out.

It’s not as nice as the pictures would leave you to believe. Rooms are very small. Don’t expect to use the bicycles they claim to have. There are two locked up out front but some guy we asked said they were not operational. One or two nights but anything longer spend the extra money and go across the street to the Comfort Inn.

Look I don’t really want to bash this place as we didn’t expect a lot. we just happened to choose a weekend in Salida when there was a big festival in the area. You can tell the owners are trying to update the place but there’s still a lot of work to do. The grounds have junk piles next to the buildings, old TV’s, furniture, etc.. The hot tub is in the middle of the parking lot where the pictures make it appear to be a nice little spot. The TV in our room didn’t work, the AC/heating unit appears to be original from maybe the 40’s or 50’s, whenever the place was built. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable ones we’ve ever slept in. Again I feel horrible writing this because I know they’re a small business and trying hard to make it work. They just need more time to finish their remodeling and upgrades.

Minimal is fine, but dirty is not ok!

My brother and I recently stayed one night after a camping trip in the mountains, and didn't need or expect anything 'fancy' from this motel. But, I expect the room to be clean. The floor was dirty, my bed spread had a burn hole in it, the bathroom had a dirty/stained shower liner and there were spots on the ceiling--not sure what they were. The refrigerator barely kept our leftovers cold (we had to set it to 5--the highest) and the door outside had damage, like someone tried to peel part of it off. I WILL NOT be staying there again.

The theme and decor of the motel is retro and very cute. Very affordable pricing, which is the main reason we picked this motel. The staff we dealt with was nice and friendly. The room wasn't huge but it worked for our needs. Had all necessary amenities in the room. The bed was ok, we always struggle finding a hotel/motel with a bed comfortable enough for us, but it wasn't terrible.

Had to book last minute for 1 night during labor day weekend. Staff was friendly and helpful but the room did not meet expectations. Two lights and the air conditioner were not working, dead bugs on towels, and when we arrived there was 4 inches of standing water in the bath tub that would not drain. I've stayed in various other hotels when I've visited Salida and there are better options that allow pets for the same price.

We stayed for 3 nights recently. The room was clean, has a small fridge, microwave, and Keurig-type coffee maker. From a maintenance perspective, room 5 was in rough shape; see pictures. Needs to have some maintenance done. The AC was loud but worked well. Overall just okay.

The day time staff was one of the rudest I have ever experienced. We had to ask to open the hot tub. She gave my husband a hard time a out it telling us opening up the hot tub encouraged late checkout. We were staying for two days! She then gave us a hard time again when she finally unlocked it telling us she wouldn't open it again. We switched hotels because if the sheer rudeness and lack of ability to use the one amenity they offered. I guess you get what you pay for 😞!

This quaint little motel has small rooms with no place to put luggage, other than the floor. After seeing a spider on the bathroom floor right after arrival, I was reluctant to leave items on the floor. It was fairly clean. Bed was comfortable. Had to wait for check-in until nearly 4 pm. No one was onsite until 3:30.

Our stay at Circle R Motel was wonderful. Check in was great, very quick and very nice staff. Rooms are spacious, bathrooms are clean. Free EV charging was a bonus!! I also appreciated that shampoo/conditioner/etc. were provided but in an environmentally-friendly way. Perfect place to rest to fuel our outdoor adventures.

Overpriced and disgusting

I was expecting a budget motel, but I was at least expecting it to not be incredibly filthy. Dog hair everywhere, dust and mold in the corners, ants crawling not the floor, fried electrical sockets that are a safety hazard. The beds were extremely uncomfortable - thin mattress on a box spring. My fridge didn't work and the guy at the front desk just said \"sorry\" (I had to throw out a bunch of perishable things I bought). I've stayed in plenty of budget places, so I don't have high expectations, but this was one of the worst. Only plus was that it was quiet and the A/C window unit was strong (but also incredibly noisy - bring earplugs). I think I paid $180 a night for this filth which is just a racket. I booked two nights but left after the first due to the condition.

The flooring is allergen-free. Two beds means 8 pillows so I used them as a pillow topper. Slept great. Front window screen was intact so I opened for cool night air. Felt safe in this area. Wifi was great. Used the nook for a fitness Zoom meeting. The sound machine with birds lifted my mood. The bathtub held water so I enjoyed relaxing before bed. There were plenty of USB and wall outlets. The fridge worked. Mostly the quiet was appreciated. It was a short drive to Anytime Fitness in the morning, before hitting the road again. Thanks!

This is a very old motel. It isn't the prettiest, but it works. I couldn't get the tv to work in room 8, but I was too tired to care. The walls are a little thin. I could hear the guy next door coming in and out of his place. I also heard the heard vehicles driving up and down the road. I found out the next morning that a few guys were having a mini car show of their \"fast and furious\" crappy little cars with no mufflers. Thankfully it didn't last all night.

Hey this was a quirky little hotel in Salida Co. Bare bones and 65 dollars a night. So you get a 65 dollar hotel. Shower, King bed and a great TV. And a outdoor hot tub! Clean place and friendly people. 4 nights.

There literally was no soap to even wash your hands. The coffee maker did not make hot coffee. Tried to speak to a manager at 830am but no one was around. Didn't want to leave a review and wanted to talk with managers but no one was around. Pay a little more somewhere else. Do not recommend and will not be returning.

The price was good, but I still expected to have hot water in the bathroom sink and shower. It was ice cold.
Also, the maid did not clean the toilet. There was urine all over the rim, as well as a large brown stain in the bowl.
