Overall had a really good time although most of the steam rooms and ice rooms weren't operating. There was also building work going on until around 1700 but then stopped. However the place is a really high standard spa and breakfast was really tasty. We ate in our cottage from the Woodpecker menu which was excellent and easy.

Dimmer lights in the room were not working so I was either sitting in very bright lights or in the dark if they were too much. I had to use a small bedside lamp for ambient lighting. I was also unable to turn off the main lights from the bed with on switch broken off the wall, so had to cross the room to turn off the lights for bed. . During the night the fridge began to make an awful drone which woke me out of sleep at 2am. I had to ask management to come out and listen to it. He had to turn the fridge off and on again and lower the thermostat. Terrible night's sleep. Staff were very friendly and helpful, not their fault obviously.

Hotel was stunning at this time of year, had a dirty towel in our room, the soap dispenser didn’t work upstairs, we had pre paid the day before for treatments but where made to wait 10/15 mins on checkout to verify as they tried to charge us again. Staff are very quick to ask about allergies for breakfast but don’t offer any appropriate alternatives with the exception of terrible gluten free toast. For the price it could do a lot better

Our stay was ok, the hotel was extremely busy and I don’t feel we got the good out of the thermal village as it was so busy, thankfully I had treatments booked which made us feel more relaxed but it’s very pricey when we had already spent so much for the stay but the treatments are what made our stay. We also got woken up quite a few times during the night with loud noises from the floor above which was the main floor. It continued the whole night. I also found that the staff were extremely slow when it was so busy and I had to repeat answers to the same questions over and over again and felt that they didn’t seem to be listening and forgetting that they had already asked the questions which added to the long delay for other people standing behind us. There were plenty of staff but it seemed like they didn’t have enough stations to deal with the amount of people to be seen to, staff there to deal with them but nowhere for them to process it.
The rooms were also extremely warm and only Dyson fans to blow the warm air around which was uncomfortable. It was also unusual the floor layout to find your room we were on the second floor but had to walk a good bit to find the lift to go down and still didn’t find the stairs, we did find stairs but it would only bring us to certain floors and it wasn’t ours. maybe just us but it was confusing

Have been to the galgorm 3 times now and love it more and more each time, the best place to go for a relaxing and magical break especially when you book one of the lodges, I’ve stayed in the shepherds hut and the forest den and both were so magical and incredible! Have also stayed in one of the cottage’s which are so handy and comfy and equipped with everything you need! I usually get take away when I stay and the food is soooo good and very reasonably priced and super quick service! Can’t wait to go back for another break 😍

Galgorm stay

Stayed for 2 nights for my gfs 30th. Lovely stay sheperds hut was very chill and serene. Only problem we had was when we ordered a takeaway from the Galgorm, we ordered a curry sauce and it was laughable what came.

Apart from that everything was brilliant, thermal village has everything you could want. Plenty of options to choose from and the celtic sauna infusion was an enjoyable experience.

Our stay was fantastic. It’s lovely to feel that you’re spoilt in a place and it’s even a little better than if you were home(!) Things like the GHD hairdryer, the Dyson(?) heater, the complimentary mini bar, the bath bomb the gorgeous coffee pods and the pillow spray all add to the feeling that you’re definitely on holiday and spoilt! Galgorm has taken the top spot in our list of places we most like to stay - we will look forward to our next opportunity to be back.

Brilliant from start to finish, from the wee man at the front door doing the complimentary valet parking to the waiting staff was exceptional, the food was just beautiful in all the restaurants especially the Castle kitchen restaurant and the added bonus was the transport to the castle , excellent!!!!

We have stayed at the Galgorm Hotel a number of times before but chose to stay in a cottage this time. We were in one of the newer cottages but found it to be very cold (there was snow on the ground outside) and when we tried to adjust the bedroom radiator water started to run out of it. This made it hard to dry robes and swimwear after the spa. My partner had to wear her coat indoors, for warmth. The shower door was badly designed and water poured out of the cubicle making the tiles slippy. There was a green light on the ceiling which lit the room up all night, affecting sleep. The spa was heaving with guests which made it difficult to find a hot tub to sit in. After paying over £16 for one cocktail and over £8 for a small beer we wandered around (cold and wet) trying to find space in one along the river and gave up. We booked a very late dinner which meant that as other guests left to eat we were finally able to use the facilities more easily. Our meal in Fratellis was average and over priced. As were the drinks. We felt that our stay this time was disappointing and have no intention to return again.

Review of Forest Den Spa

Unfortunately, my experience at Forest Den did not meet my expectations. I spent a significant amount of time trying to get the fire started for the wood-fired sauna and bath. Given that we booked the Forest Den specifically for these amenities, I was disappointed.

We checked in at 3 PM, hoping to relax in the sauna and bath before dinner. However, it took over three hours to heat the sauna, which only stayed warm for a short time. Even after five hours, the bath remained cold, primarily due to the soaking wet firewood, which made it difficult to ignite the fire. I called reception three times over four hours, and each time, more wet logs were delivered.

Around 7 PM, a staff member offered to assist with the fire, but since we had dinner reservations at 8:15, it felt unnecessary at that point. He suggested we ask reception to light the sauna and bath for us while we were at dinner, which we did, but upon our return, we found that nothing had been done. I attempted to heat the bath again, but it seemed unlikely we could achieve a proper temperature given the wood provided.

The restaurant is not within walking distance, and although we arranged for a taxi for 8 PM, it didn't arrive until 8:30 without any prior notice of the delay.

On a positive note, both breakfast and dinner were very nice, and the staff were all very friendly.

For the price point the forest den was not worth it!

Not what it used to be

We go to Galgorm every year for a 1-2 night stay. We probably won’t go back now. Prices are astronomical at the hotel for mediocre drinks and food, the spa treatments are now like a conveyor belt and the spa in general is very crowded. It feels like the Galgorm group just want to squeeze every last drop of money out of guests.

As much as we love galgorm this visit was not as expected. Our room was not ready on arrival and had to wait 1 hour which was disappointing and when we got to the spa it was soo overcrowded that we couldn't get near a hot tub. Considering we had dinner reservations we didn't get much time to enjoy the spa given the late check in and number of guests using facilities. Fratellies is my favourite but this time they had changed the menu and reduced the much loved tapas starters, the starter we did pick was very salty and we couldn't enjoy it. Pizza was delicious tho. I always recommend galgorm to friends but I might not big it up as much in future. The cottage was clean and perfect for us as we've stayed many times, we did have trouble getting hot water this time, had to leave the shower running for 5 minutes before hot water came. Still love galgorm and will definitely stay again but perhaps not on a Sunday as it seems too busy. They should try to monitor this in some way and maybe let guest know that it's busy. Breakfast was as always a treat.

We had a lovely time at Galgorm. The spa was amazing as usual and it wasn't too busy. Cocktails were a ridiculous price though so we didn't order any.
We stayed in the older part of the hotel which was fine but it the room just didn't feel as luxurious/cosy as other rooms we had stayed in. There were a few strange stains on the carpet and the room was very hot during the night despite leaving the windows open and using the Dyson fan which we kept on all night but it was very noisy and made it difficult to sleep. Breakfast in Gillies was lovely

This is not our first time staying here. Overall our experience was good however some members of staff were not very friendly whilst other were very friendly. our room has some bottle tops left on the floor from the previous guest which always feels strange but in the main it was clean. Relax and unwind in a top class spa hotel

All staff were professional, attentive and really pleasant. My wife has food allergies and everyone was proactive and helpful.
The spa is incredible, in both scale and quality. There’s something for everyone and you could spend a day easily exploring the spa alone.
Room quality was top notch. Very clean and comfortable with a mini bar selection of treats.
Food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was very enjoyable. Would happily return.

Really enjoyed our stay. Only 2 negatives where that the shepherds hut we stayed in didn’t have the lovely copper bath like in advertisements. It was a smaller older bath.
Couldn’t get tv in front of bed to work.

Having stayed in a Cottage Suite last year we booked again for what we thought would be the same experience. Unfortunately, instead of a cottage we were put in what could only be described as a downstairs ‘Granny Flat’ on the bottom floor of a house. Neither of us is disabled but this was accommodation adapted for a disabled person, and all we heard for most of the night was people going up the stairs to and moving around the suite above. Other than the accommodation the Thermal Village was really nice, but the restaurant was cold and so was the breakfast.

Overall our stay was good after a disappointing start.
We were staying in a one bedroom cottage check in 3pm we arrived around 2.30 to stand in a long queue as there was only one member of staff checking everyone in for the cottages & Shepherds Huts (thankfully it was dry). Eventually when we checked in we were told our room wasn't ready which is very disappointing when you want to use the spa straight away which we did. It creates a bit of a fuss opening your suit case etc in the changing room not a relaxing start.
Our cottage was lovely although we did have an issue with the heating not coming on which we had to raise twice with staff.
I feel our stay would have been perfect if they had more staff on at the outdoor check in.

My self and my two daughters stayed for one nights in the 2 bedroom cottage which was very spacious and was well equipped with anything you would need there was an onsuite in each bedroom with a powerful shower and very comfortable beds the only complaint i have was there was a very poor wfi connection most of the time none at all also the television did not work as there was no signal overall we had a lovely stay
