Our stay was really good. The hotel was quiet even though there was a wedding taking place. The staff where helpful and friendly.

The room was a standard hotel room nothing special but it was clean and that suits us.

The restaurant food was good and tasty it was a really slick service. My partner ordered the half duck but it must have been a duckling instead. It was the smallest \"half duck\" we have ever seen and it was over cooked but still enjoyed it. I ordered the pasta which was very tasty and a huge portion.

We did three courses and when the bill came I nearly fell down - but wages need paid and the lights need to stay on!

One thing we would say is the hotel is great, we would come back.

My last piece here is a final comment on the hotel restaurant dessert menu - it's old style and out of date.

I'm veggie and I can guarantee ( being an old chef myself) that I will be offered a pasta or rice dish and at best a veggie burger. The menu is meat heavy and if your vegan - forget it! Kitchen staff - where's your inspiration!?

Anyway, big thank you to all the staff but particularly the ladies on reception.

With love,

❤️

Thank you to Andrew on reception & all the staff. The lovely ladies who served us breakfast. But our apologies to the night staff, the lovely gentleman on the door who had to let us in.
It was already a hard trip for my uncles funeral. The staff made it perfect for my husband and I. We will definitely come back to stay again. We felt very looked after.

Nice Hotel. Was very quiet when we stayed end of September. Good central location. Restaurant good value. Heating system in the room (radiator) did not heat the room just the shower room but not a problem with the weather when we were there. We stayed 5 nights and travelled to all parts of Northern Ireland.

The twin room was too small for 2 beds no table or chairs to have coffee at. Drawers could only open a few inches. Bathroom and shower were good.
Dinner in evening was awkward as we refused first table as it was in hallway. Manager was not happy and said we would have to sit in middle aisle. That suited us. Dinner disappointing and poor wine selection. No atmosphere in dining room. Staff were pleasant, especially cleaners who helped with our cases on arrival. Overall the hotel was dated and sorry but i wont be recommending a stay.

Would return and recommend!

We had a lovely stay! All of the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough. Great vodka martini from the friendly barman (thanks.), and nice meal with generous portions. We had a superior suite which was so spacious. The coffee machine wasn't working - needed descaling - but after they came to have a look at it they brought us a pot of lovely coffee in our room which was much appreciated. My only suggestion would maybe be to update the mattress, it was a bit bouncy for me and my slightly knackered back but fine for one night. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

The only problem l found was that the bathroom fans were noisy and took a while to go off. I could hear next doors and it kept me from falling asleep. Otherwise l was pleased. Breakfast could have been warmer but the mushrooms were fabulous. I would recommend the hotel with the provisos l have mentioned. Service was very good and made us feel valued.

All was good except got food poisoning from supper meal. Had Chicken sandwich with salad so the chicken or the hard boiled egg was bad. I know it wasn’t the lettuce as I shared the lettuce with my husband and he did not get sick. Also disappointed no free refill on my soda. Breakfast looked lovely but didn’t dare eat for fear I was not fully recovered from the night before.

Not bad, but lacks the fizz

On the whole not bad, but i didnt seem to feel welcome especially when i went for dinner. it seemed it was almost too much trouble to pull 2 tables apart for me to sit down but another guest came later and was told sit where you want. so why wasnt I?

Food wasnt the best. My chicken breast tasted like it had been pumped full of water and was not very nice. I was compensated though

Overall not bad and nice approach to the hotel but didnt like a room facing a wall and it was rather noisy with fan and machines making a lot of noise

The staff were very helpful and considerate. The evening meal was delicious with a good variety of choice. The breakfast however didnt match up to the same standard. The food had been cooked for a while, in spite of standing in the hot plates, it was cold and unappealing.
The general decor needs a lick of paint. It was however clean and comfortable.

Disappointing

The hotel is set in nice grounds but the positives pretty much end there. Room was small, single glazed and not very comfortable. Spiders and webs in the room for someone with a phobia isn't good! Shower not very good, leaked everywhere and the towels were far too small. Bar had no music, no TV and definitely no atmosphere! Food was ok, buffet breakfast was OK but for almost £150 per night, I expected far, far better!

The food quality was excellent for dinner. We ate dinner twice at the hotel, my only complaint on first night it was a little rushed.

Breakfast the food was self serve from heated containers. As often the case eggs and bacon dry up when stored like this. Second morning, when there were very few guests around, this was an issue. Shame because the ingredients were all good.

For both breakfast and dinner the portions were very generous too.

Room was fine. Only issue, as in many hotels there are not enough decent lights. Low level lighting is nice and romantic but when you need to see what you are doing, or see to work, brighter lights are required.

Room and building was clean, well decorated and of a reasonable size. Room temperature was good as warm but could open windows. Position was almost as far as possible from the reception and had views of a wall which was a little disappointing. Staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Gluten free was catered for excellently at dinner with a dedicated menu and lots of choice, excellent. Breakfast in comparison was disappointing as was served in a canteen formation, could have asked for GF options but chose not too, had a dedicated toaster to stop cross contamination. Check in and out was easy and fast. Bathroom toiletries were pleasant, shower was large and refreshingly powerful. Tea and coffee facilities were adequate. Bed was comfortable and slept well. Parking was to the front and expansive. TV screen was adequate and the remote control was well used and only worked intermittently. Finally towels were very small, UK size 14 and it didn't come close to fitting around me, added to this i think that a soft, large fluffy towel after a shower adds a level of luxury to any stay away. Bed was very comfortable.

Visiting from Canada

The hotel was convenient for my purposes of visiting my brother who lives nearby
I found the room cool and there was no register to increase the room heat. I did not call the front desk as one can usually adjust the room heat in the room.
I’m not used to ordering my meals UK style ie main course then sides separate so my meal was very large. Room was comfortable, the mattress was a spring mattress and I could feel the springs. The accommodation served my short stay ok

Hotel is very basic.
No lounge area to watch the football or news etc.
Described as a spa but has no pool or gym, just beauty treatments. Apparently they do weddings but
I would be very dissapointed if I was getting married here, nothing special about it.
Room was tidy and pleasant but carpet needed a good hoover or maybe the hotel require a new hoover as the floor covered in bits and hairs. Bathroom door had had something sprayed or squirted down it, hopefully just shampoo or cleaning product.

On the plus side, staff were very friendly and the outdoor setting was nice.

Great little hotel

Overall was a great experience. Hotel is a bit dated, but that's part of the charm. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and room was basic but had everything someone needs- bed , shower , TV etc- all worked perfectly and it was a great base for us to explore NI...you will need a car as hotel is about 30 mins from Belfast for example...food was great and free breakfast each morning was excellent and very handy ahead of a days exploring! Highly recommended if you want a straightforward place to base yourself to see Belfast, Antrim etc as it's fairly slap bang in the middle of the north so with a car your not more than about an hour max from anywhere

Disappointing for food allergy sufferers

Stayed for a family wedding. I don't think tbe hotel is great for anyone who is coeliac as they didn't have a separate fryer for chips. The toaster at breakfast which had a sign thst it was for gluten free bread was next to ordinary bread and people were putting ordinary bread into it.
