No heating in the room 102 staff acted surprised but when we arrived there a was electric blow heater in the room staff came to check and try to work it twice and it still didn’t told us that they would ring in half hour to check to see if it was working but we had a early flight to catch the next morning went to bed with a hot water bottle . Night porter said we had a heater but I’m sorry when u pay over £100 pound for a night u expect heat in the room to work. Even after u get staff to check it . Simply not good enough especially in march

On booking this hotel, it was on the premise that this would have the availability of a transfer to the airport.
On arrival we were pointed to a sign which said this service did now not exist along with a list of taxi firms for us to contact and make our own arrangements.when we arrived at our room, it was freezing and tried to increase the heat but to no avail. They told us that there were small heaters that could be used but they really would not be suitable to heat an entire room.We contacted reception and they came to the room and worked on the heating dial and told us that it would much warmer in 3 minutes. We went to dinner and returned to the room only to find that it was still cold. We returned to reception and they asked if they could give them 10 minutes after which they took us to another room. It was obvious that the heating did not work properly there and they had used a small heater to give us the impression that it was. Very disappointing. We had to get up early for a flight and arrange transport so we just took the the room as there was nothing else available. The next morning we discussed what happen with another member of staff and all they said was that they would have it checked out. At no point did anyone apologies for the inconvenience either that morning or the previous evening. Nor did they advise in advance that this transfer service was no longer available. We would have cancelledSuch an unprofessional set up. A disappointing start to our holidays.

Tired, dreary, not good enough. I stayed in room 209 and the bed was simply a disgrace. Made up of 2 single mattresses, one about 15 years old and the other one in its 80s. Sagging, springs sticking out, quite simply unacceptable.
There was no hot water in the shower, the place desperately needs a revamp, it’s old, tired and dirty in places.

Nice wee stopover for early morning flights. Didn’t eat here, room was large warm and comfortable. Also saved us a drive over the Glenshane Pass in snowy conditions, making our morning less stressful.

Ballyrobin entices you to come and stay It has a traditional exterior with its cottage look and red door and a reputation for good food It presents a warm welcome and the staff are amazing in helpfulness and the accommodation is smart modern and with lots of added accessories. There was only one problem the bed was so fabulously comfortable I could have been late to the nearby airport for my flight except for the fact that the transport to and from the Airport arranged by the hotel reception is highly organised and I was checking in for my flight in good time.

Booked the Ballyrobin because we had a very early flight in the morning and wanted a good nights sleep before a long flight. It was close to the airport and staff booked a taxi for us. However neither of us slept well. Both of the single beds in the room were so uncomfortable, lumpy mattresses. We hardly got any sleep and will not be staying again. The hotel definitely need to upgrade the beds.

We stay here if we have an early flight time the next morning. The staff are brilliant, very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately our room was not great. The was a lot of black grout around the shower enclosure and the bathroom door was very squeaky. The mattress was particularly uncomfortable as it felt like springs were sticking out so we didn’t have a good sleep. This is the first time I’ve been unhappy with my stay.

Less than a mile from airport but not able to walk as no pavement and busy road. Taxi would have been around £40. Hotel able to organise a transfer, however the transport is £12 per room, ( not priced by hotel) so as there was 4 of us it was £24 and we were in the taxi 3 minutes. It had cost us £30 to get to the hotel.

Beautiful hotel and staff very nice but mattresses on bed in room 103 was very very hard i went to reception at 240am and spoke to the porter and explained the situation he told me i was the first person to complain about the mattress i asked could i move to a single room just for a couple off hours but he said the mattresses were all the same my fiance also felt the bed was very uncomfortable we were intending to book our wedding in December with yous but i just wouldn't be able to sleep there not would he

Lovely stay in this hotel which exceeded all expectations. Passed so many times but didn't realize it had a modern extension with so many rooms. Parking right at door, one girl on reception who seemed to be looking after bar aswell. Rooms spacious and clean. Woken by 1st airplane to take off! Breakfast was buffet style, basic but suffice, cheaper than paying for similar at airport. Overall i would highly recommend a stay although one small point being the staff at reception could have been more welcoming/friendly with the night porter admitting he had know idea what he was doing!

I have stayed here a few times unfortunately on this time I put in a room close to the public access toilets that had a vile smell. When I spoke to them they said it’s coming from the nappy bin!!! It get changed one a day. The smell was horrendous. I also arrived after the kitchen has stopped serving which apparently is 7.30 on Sundays… I was not aware of this. When I asked where I could eat as I’d been travelling all day I got an unexpected reply of I suppose you could order food and get it delivered when I did this they were not helpful I had to ask for a plate and and cutlery. Very disappointed. I would not use this hotel again unless it was essential. I felt uncomfortable even though I was paying premium rate that provides income to the staff.

Check in was not very friendly, the room in need of a good deep clean and refresh - main lights did not work, wardrobe doors did not shut, two dusty put up beds in the corner and shower screen not wide enough to stop water going in the floor, carpets and walls marked. Our room was very nice and looked clean. The garden views were lovely.The bathroom needs attention. The toilet was wobbly. We only had one hand towel and one shower gel. The bath towels would have fitted my 3 year old granddaughter. In the corners of the bath there were bad mould stains. It really didn't look nice at all. The planes were very noisy but that is to be expected so close to the airport! On the plus side, the staff were great and very helpful. The food was delicious at dinner. There was a problem with the wine. The one my husband chose was substituted for an inferior wine. It was all sorted amicably! Breakfast is a self service buffet. I am not usually a fan, but I have to say the food was warm. The scrambled egg looked a bit solid but was warm enough! The bacon was lovely. My husband had some fried bread and sausages and said they were good.

The food in the restaurant was terrible. The vegetable soup tasted like dirty dishwater, it was actually inedible.
My room wasn't cleaned the whole time I was there (4 nights) all they did was make the bed and give new towels. The room needs a good deep clean, in the corners of the windows there is a lot of mould and built dirt etc. The staff were nice and the rooms are in a nice new building

The room was ‘okay’. We were disappointed that the window faced a hedge at ground floor level. The worst part though was the shower. The shower head was fixed in one position on the wall so high that my partner (6’4”) couldn’t get the water to hit anywhere other than his shoulders. For myself (5’5”) the water was coming straight for my head at an angle which would only hit my hair or the door. Thankfully 1 shower cap was provided… but it was extremely difficult to shower in the small cubical. There was also an issue with the shower which caused the water to shoot out of the side of the pipe and spray all over the bathroom forming large pools of water after a quick shower. I did let the staff know at reception after our first night but nothing was done about it. However, we slept well and enjoyed a good variety of breakfast foods. This is a decent enough hotel if you are just looking for a sleep by the airport but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone planning to stay for more than one night.

We really loved being at the Bally Robin! Property is charming, clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and very eager to assist. Dining options are varied and portions are filling. We love how willing all staff were to go above and beyond in their service.
