It maybe is the adage you get what you pay for but the room was very unclean and obvious it hadn’t been touched in a while expect the bed. Strong smell of damp, sockets didn’t work and bed was uncomfortable etc. The rate for the room was on the cheaper end but still expect basic cleanliness/amenities

The host greeted us upon arrival and based on remoteness and outside appearance were not expecting much. That’s when Buttons the ‘doodle’ four legged greeter came up and really welcomed us! WHAT A SWEETIE. Our rooms were perfect. Spacious, comfy and beautiful. Our host also provided breakfast supplies for us. Wish the nearby bar and restaurant were open but after a long day it didn’t matter much. A hidden gem!

What a gem this property is! It is self-catering, and we were delighted to find a spacious, elegant, beautifully appointed apartment with lots of \"to get you started\" provisions in the refrigerator. The Host showed us around, explained how to use the induction cooker, and was friendly and helpful as we settled in. The apartments (two of us booking two apartments) look on to beautiful country gardens, and the grounds are also beautiful. Parking is easy, off the (narrow, winding, a bit scary) rural road. I definitely encourage anyone looked for beauty, comfort, and quiet to book this property.

OH...MY....GOD !!! What an amazing little place. So cozy and comfortable. I was pleased enough when he showed me the bedroom. He said \"There's a wee apartment upstairs\" and left. I want upstairs...to find a spacious area, with a full kitchen, table to seat 6 and the comfiest sofa.....in the world. Fod is available in Moira, which is 5 mins down the road and has seveyeateries. I wish I could have stayed for the week.

A very rare find, the detail in the accommodation was superb , tastefully decorated with amazing antique finishes, from brass fire alarms to ships lanterns. Kitchen very well equipped. Comfortable bed and great bathroom, and that’s not even taking into account the location. Totally amazing and can’t wait to get back.

We loved this place and the people working there! They were helpful with every need including giving us a ride to the train station in the morning as we didn’t have a car. We were sad to see the pub was closed a few weeks prior to our stay as we were relying on that for food but we made due and hope one day it’s up and running again and we can see this place for all it’s worth as we heard nothing but praises from the locals about the pub! All in all I would totally come back (with a car perhaps) it was peaceful in the country and you felt like you stepped back in time to a simpler age with the accommodation being in a historic looking building!

Like staying in a castle! The stone building is around 350 years old. I was prepared for it to be cold in the room with the slate floor but I was perfectly comfortable. However, there were heaters there to use if needed - including a heated towel rack in the bathroom! No breakfast included which suited us since we had an early flight out of Belfast. Everything is provided to make nice cups of tea. This will be our most memorable stay of the 2 weeks on the island. Lots of lovely character!

Room had vintage furnishings and a unique style, shower and kettle with tea and coffee. Owner had switched on oil radiator as it was cold when we stayed here.

We loved staying at Clenaghans, it was an 350 year old farm house turned into a hotel so it was very rustic but that is one reason we liked it so much. The staff were great, the room we stayed was comfortable, the bed was very comfortable, and had a top sheet, most hotels do not supply a top sheet. the building was old but the shower, stove, refrigerator and all other electrical appliances were up-to-date. They supplied the breakfast, eggs sausages and bacon, toast cold cereal, yoghurt and we were able to cook it. It was unexpected treat and a real hidden gem of a place. Check In very bad. Manager/Owner had no Personal Skills, was abrupt, rude and unhelpful. His first comments were that the room we had booked was not good and very small and we could have an apartment for 1 night for 20 pounds more. He was also critical of the on line booking system (Expedia).
Room was poorly maintained Shower head fixed with tape, lights out, heated towel rail no working, Towels were old and ripped on first use.
No room cleaning has was told they were self catering. Not mentioned on Expedia web Site
No Hot water during the day and had to have cold showers. When questioned the Manager he said \" the Boiler only starts at 4pm each Day

A nice place to stay, if a little out of the way
The room was nice, cosy and well-appointed. The WiFi worked well. We had a little issue with the hot water, but Ivan was helpful and accommodating. The food in the adjoining restaurant was phenomenal and the service was good. It is a little out of the way, and the restaurant does not do breakfast, being in the room only and not one of the apartments meant no cooking facilities. However, the nearest village is a 7 min drive, or 45 minute walk away and there is a number of options there. I would definitely recommend.

I have stayed before - always love here - old style buildings and unique the way Ivan the owner has them finished - all by his own hands too. Food in the bar next door is really lovely too but would recommend you book ahead to get a table otherwise you'll be disappointed!

A cosy comfortable room with good clean bedding, excellent tv, powerful shower also tea and coffee facilities. Excellent hosts, never hassled and felt at ease to come and go as we pleased. Top class restaurant on site, about 25 mins to Belfast centre.
