Good fitness facilities in need of repair

I often visit here on business and the maim attraction is the fitness room. I used the facilities twice during my stay but one of the running machines, the elliptical trainer and both the weights machines require service, repair or replacement.

Great location and views. Just a few minutes to the beach. Hotel was nice at first glance as long as you don’t look too closely. Lots of dings and scrapes on walls. Our rooms were spacious. Great value. Didn’t use the pool as we prefer ocean but it looks amazing. Haven’t seen a pool this nice in our travels in Europe yet. Only negative is the wifi is awful.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Spa and indoor pool are always really nice and not too crowded in the mornings.
Special thanks to the lady working in the bar who helped my wife choose a good bottle of wine and even loaned her some wine glasses to take to the room for after our race event.

Beautiful hotel!

The hotel was amazingly clean and comfortable. We stayed during the off season so there were very few people there. Our only complaint was the sauna and steam rooms didn’t work at all on our second day. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Fantastic hotel... horrible WiFi

Very nice, modern hotel. We liked the style and the atmosphere. Nice spacy room and breakfast was excellent. Plenty of parking space and close to the beach and on walking distance of downtown Peniche. Bottom line, we really enjoyed our stay. Our rating would have been higher if not for the WiFi problem and the way it was handled. WiFi in the public areas was great, but in the room a disaster. WiFi was fluxatuating, on and off all the time , and if it was working, the bandwidth was so poor, even a Skype voice conversation was impossible. We reported it to the reception and they reacted surprised. However the lobby was full of guests using the reliable WiFi in the lobby instead of the WiFi in the room. Furthermore we learned from other guests they complained also. So it appears this hotel has a systematic problem with WiFi in the rooms. A pity they didn’t admit and solve it structurally

We stayed 3 nights in a king room that was spotlessly clean and had all mod cons. Bathroom great and bed comfy.
Breakfast was included and had a very good range and quality.
Pool areas were very good.
Only complaint that I registered was that the staff who told me to play golf at the sister hotel's golf course did not tell me golf clubs were not available. International travellers rarely bring clubs on a 5 week holiday and letting me know I needed my own clubs would have saved me a pointles one hour trip.
Alternatively the hotel could have a few hire sets. My point really is that the woman at the counter couldn't care about my wasted trip that she set me on.

Modern upscale hotel close to a nice beach town and harbour. Breakfast had a wide array of tasty choices and was on the top floor surrounded by glass and with nice views of the surroundings. The room was spacious, quiet, comfortable and good value. A relatively short drive from beautiful Obidos, which is why we originally chose this location to overnight.

The rooms were 45\"c on arrival. By 11 pm they were still 35c. No air conditioning. No fans. Reception offered no help or alternative. Then receptionist disappeared. Hotel was not connectable. This hotel should have it's license withdrawn. People go to prison for keeping their dogs in such hot rooms! The top floor has a lot of iron in the structure,

Lovely clean and spacious hotel

This is a lovely hotel with spacious rooms. It was very clean and the staff friendly. The beds are a little hard but this is just personal preference. The breakfast was ok, it would have been nice to have had brown bread as only white was available and better coffee is definitely needed! We stayed for two nights and overall it was very good, we would definitely go back if we were in the area again.

We didn't love it

This hotel seems to cater to Portuguese family vacationers - lots of young children and babies in the dining room in mid-August. Service was excellent, but we found the rooms under-lit, and the food, while plentiful in the all-you-can-eat buffets, not very high quality by international standards. The a la carte options were also sub-standard, with my meat having a strange texture, and my tomato salad being unusually tasteless. Nevertheless, the MH Peniche is reasonably priced for a hotel with beach access, which might account for its popularity.

Great place to unwind

Lovely hotel, with the kind of service that you want - invisible until you need it. The spa was really great and the whole experience was a relaxed one. The bar, in the evening had a really excellent waiter, and the prices were extremely reasonable for a hotel bar with a sea view! Wouldn't hesitate to go back and stay again.

Overall we were happy with our stay. Exceptionally clean as you would imagine for a hotel 1 year old. Lovely interior and great location! No noise from road, no smell.

Somewhat mixed feelings however as there were a few minor problems. Staff were very helpful and friendly generally. Issue on first day as we had booked 2x double bed rooms and received 2x twin bed rooms, I went to what I thought was the manager on front desk who was not helpful, telling me they didn't have any double rooms free because they were booked up from the following day... So they had double rooms available that 1 night but we'd have to move out in the morning! Eh? Apparently they don't sell double bed rooms through Expedia and it was a mistake for Expedia to sell it (management and Expedia might want to clear that up)... Anyhow, we pushed the beds together and made do as I was too tired to argue after travel. I did however take expidias check in review later that evening and stated the issue, which resulted in a call after breakfast the following morning informing us they'd seen the review and would like to offer us two double rooms. Which was great. Shame management couldn't have seen so helpful at reception. The colplimentary champagne and fruit was also a nice touch and was well received! The girl who arranged the move was very helpful and well mannered.

Overall we enjoyed our stay despite the initial problem. Everything was simple, relaxing and well kept.

Great family stay in Peniche

The indoor pool gave the kids something to do when our stay included a lot of rain. It's in a great location, not on the beach, but walkable or short drive away. The room was spacious and comfortably slept a family with two young kids. Best bathroom of our week in Portugal. The whole family loves the extensive breakfast options. Dinner was ok, but I would have liked to have more Portuguese options.

My only complain was wifi. There is limitted free wifi, after that you have to pay. I was not even able to connect at all. Other than that, everything else was perfect! AMAZING breakfast with unlimited mimosas included! Perfect location!

Great newly opened hotel in Peniche

The hotel just opened 5-6 months ago. It is new & beautifully furnished. Rooms are very spacious and all of them have balconies facing the sea. Breakfast buffet provides a lot of choices from eggs and cheese to a lot of dessert, cakes, croissant, pancakes, jams, etc. Also nice to have choices such as soja milk vs only normal milk.
The indoor SPA and gym are also great. Indoor pool is heated, and also includes a nice sauna and hammam. In the outside garden area there is an outdoor pool (it was not opened yet as still too cold outside) and a area for kids to play.
The hotel is super close to the main beach of Peniche (5 min walking) and the town centre (I guess around 10 minutes walk). We rented a car as we wanted to visit the surroundings better.

Séjour super le personnel professionnel et parfait … juste l aspirateur pas passer et un hameçon de pêche coincer sous le bureau au sol a été oublier ce qui a causer une blessure à mon pieds sans gravité. Cependant le ménage était parfaitement fait dans la salle de bain et sur les meubles.

Great hotel with beautiful seaview

This is a great hotel, new and well maintained. Big clean rooms with seaview, good beds and great breakfast with scrambled and fried eggs, lots of fresh fruit and good coffee in the restaurant with seaview. The service in the reception is competent and friendly. The sea is very close, and the price was very fair. MH is the place to stay in Peniche.

En general nos gustó todo. Las habitaciones son bastantes grandes y muy cómodas. El desayuno bien, correcto. La posibilidad de piscina fuera o dentro, ideal.
Lo que menos nos ha gustado es que la habitación la pueden hacer hasta las 6 de la tarde. Uno de los días hemos salido a las ocho de la mañana del hotel para hacer excursión, vuelta al hotel a las cinco y cuarto y la habitación sin hacer. Cansados y con ganas de un ratito de siesta..., pues la habitación ese día sin hacer.

The Literary Man Óbidos Hotel is a unique literary hotel and the biggest in the world. Located next to the Óbidos Castle, this former convent kept its original charm and was converted in to a hotel called Estalagem do Convento in 1965.

With 30 rooms, the interiors shows an option of traditional decoration and an eco and modern style. The rooms are equipped with LCD's, heating and air conditioning, private bathroom, free WiFi, minibar, hair-dryer, safe and coffee machine.

  It has various international and national books distributed for all the hotel. Our restaurant Book & Cook and Bar has a lounge with an antique fireplace.
