This is an underrated resort. Sparkling clean, well-equipped apartments, lovely staff, and great views over the Ocean, albeit at a slight distance. Facilities are very good, and the onsite restaurant is so good, it draws a crowd of non-residents. Highly recommended.

Staff was great, didn’t really know about what was or not included in the room rate. Found out the last day that breakfast was included…but could have been an oversight on my part.

No lift for luggage and no easy way to get it to your room (if staying in the apartment style). No auto lights for my unit so went in dark each night…unlike other units I saw walking past.

Value for the money was just ok.

Óbidos est une belle région pour découvrir quelques terrains de golf. Il y a le Royal Obidos directement sur place et je recommande de le jouer. Obidos est un endroit très brumeux le matin et le soir. Visite de forteresse et de vieux villages à l’intérieur de la forteresse.

Amazing hotel

The hotel is Amazing! Friendly staff, Fantastic food, gorgeous pool area, great views to the golf green and the ocean. The rooms are huge and very well decorated. So clean and comfy. The photos are not enough to tell the full story… the spa area- indoor pool, sauna and steam sauna (banho turco) are free to use, which was a huge plus! Sooo close to Óbidos and the Beautiful Óbidos Lagoon. Can’t wait to come back!

Accommodation looks a bit tired but is of high standard. Good place to base yourself to play golf at West Cliffs and Praia Del Rey as well as Óbidos itself. Microclimate is weird - persistent sea fog with temperatures 12 degrees below Nazare only 40km up the coast. Beautiful beaches but not so fun in the fog! Also the restaurant choices are very limited. Golf was good but wouldn’t return in a hurry

The property is great, however very hard to get to if coming from lisbon. If planning to come, highly recommend renting a car. The golf course and restaurants were great! The apartments are very specious and newly renovated. We enjoyed our stay and will come back again. The resort was not very busy, we had the pool to ourselves for the day.

The hotel branding has changed which was unknown to me. My studio number was 401B. The bedroom is well equipped, comfortable, quiet and clean.
The balcony is well equipped and the ocean view is great.
The AIRCON was working well.
Free underground parking.
The room had no shower but a bathtub which access or exit was difficult and could be dangerous (when wet and slippery) for kids or person with disabilities. There is a need for repair and painting of the bathtub casing.
The breakfast served at the golf clubhouse (5min walk) was great.
I have enjoyed my stay and will certainly come back again.

Great amenities for all ages.
The breakfast at the Clubhouse was one of the highlights! A lot of options and all very tasty. Dinner at the restaurant under the lobby was awful though, extremely slow service, despite being asked to change our reservation to an earlier time for less slow service. Food was mixed, some portions were really small and some were not restaurant quality.

Man braucht definitiv ein Auto. Nächster Supermarkt rund 15min entfernt.
Apartment gut ausgestattet aber für die Selbstversorgung muss man die Fahrt in den Supermarkt auf sich nehmen.

Zum Erholen und Golf spielen in Ordnung. Ansonsten nicht empfehlenswert.

The area of Obidos is beautiful however the Royal Obidos resort is in need of some good energy & character. The entire resort felt like liminal space. Overall, everything was just ok - food, staff, rooms, and amenities. It also didn’t help that during our stay the main restaurant was closed.

Hotel could be fantastic but lacking soul and those finishing touches. Rooms are large and spacious but bland with no personal touch, just white walls.
Rooms only cleaned once in 7 days which is just unacceptable for a hotel closed as 5 star.
One of the two restaurants was closed for 6 of the 7 days as nd only told to us via email 2 days before we arrived.
Breakfast was average, eggs not pleasant, and most of the hot food luke warm.
Nice golf course but views ruined with all the building work taking place.
Had a great holiday but disappointed with the hotel.

We had high expectations for our stay, having read previous reviews. Unfortunately these were short lived. Upon arrival there was a huge discrepancy between the price we had seen for half board and the price we were to be charged. The reception staff were very nice but the lady who came out from the office was so unprofessional, saying that the member of staff who had emailed us information previously would have to pay the difference in price from her wages!
We were staying in an apartment which we did not know was not in the main hotel. We therefore had to take all our luggage there ourselves and were not offered any assistance. This included 3 flights of stairs and no lifts.
We were also told that we had to have our breakfast in the golf clubhouse and not in the hotel restaurant. This was quite a long walk away. We were not told until checkout that we could have been shuttled there.
Our apartment was pleasant but very bland and certainly not 4 or 5 star. There were no robes or slippers and the bath screen seal was mouldy, as was the bath grout.
There were also no towels available around the pool areas and outside was noisy due to building works.
Breakfast was very disappointing. The bakery options were wonderful but the ‘hot’ food was always cold and the bacon raw every day. There were no fried eggs and no smoked salmon. There was also only 1 coffee machine, so queues were inevitable.
The other staff were all fantastic, particularly in the hotel restaurant.

We were staying only 4 days so not much point. When the cleaning finally happened, it was disappointing: rubbish bins were not emptied, bed linen not changed, kitchen area was not cleaned and amenities (shower gel,etc) not replaced.

An amazing restaurant with a very good hotel.

This a very good hotel, in an area with real interest.
Service excellent, hotel facilities fine. Pool and gym a bit small by the highest standards, and apartment WiFi a bit glitchy. These are small things.
The restaurant was the standout: not cheap but some of the best fish I have eaten in a long time, served with enthusiasm and knowledge. Even if you don’t stay, drive some distance to eat here, I’d say.

Very nice resort hotel off the beaten track

We stayed two nights in this hotel. We found it very challenging to find this hotel, despite GPS. Depending on the system you are using, you may search for Royal Obidos Spa & Golf Hotel (or Elutee Hotel on Waze), and the road is quite winding. I would definitely recommend to do this journey during daylight hours and not in the dark. The location is far away fro everything. There are no dining options, other than in the hotel and no shopping anywhere nearby.
The resort is new, modern and sprawling with a beautiful outdoor and indoor pool and exercise facilities. Staff is courteous and kind. The decor is modern, artsy but not cozy. Rooms are spacious, clean and the bathrooms beautiful. The red was very comfortable. It was only a short walk from our unit to the main building and parking area. Breakfast was very good and plentiful and you could order a la carte. We would stay here again.

The hotel is stunningly beautiful, the views are incredible, the beds are so comfortable. The only problem is that it's very, very remote, so there are no other options for food except what the hotel has to offer. The hotel's food is awe-inspiringly mediocre. Spent €94 on two meals for two people and wow, was the food abyssmal. Just laughably bad. You are their prisoner, you will eat what they serve and pay what they demand.

This hotel's decor is quite impressive in both the rooms, the common areas and lobby. The room is spacious and very well appointed with a fell of luxury. Most of all the beds are quite comfortable
The staff is very attentive. Special thanks to the maitre d. Ramundo who went out of his way to make sure we got the most of our visit to the area. The indoor parking is another plus

Rauter didn't work well enough, better for Samsung, poor for Ipad, this was explained by a member of the staff. Rauter today is a basic amenity. The hotel is not as advertised. The massive construction going on, workers, saws, 3 enormous cranes, makes it impossible to open your windows, impossible to open your curtains, and using the facilities is not an option. When we arrived we were in shock! When we asked the reception if he thought the guests should be entitled to know that the entire hotel grounds are a massive construction site, he said we received an email and knew. When we said, we didn’t, he ignored us. We also noted the hotel was empty but for a few guests that were duped Like us.. he responded to our observation” I wouldn’t know I dont count the cars..” it was empty!! The hotel building that is standing is badly designed with the cheapest materials. So the new hotel is already falling apart. Do not stay!!! Can’t possibly be done for at least a year or two!, and then the existing building will be in need of a renovation already.

A beautiful property. Modern and luxurious. Staff were wonderful - friendly, helpful and accommodating both at reception and in the excellent dining room. Room was terrific, well equipped, comfortable and spacious. Views are great. The property is located near the ocean a few kms from Obidos in a quiet, natural setting. We would loved to have tried the golf course and spa facilities but did not have time. We would definitely go back.

This is a luxury hotel. Pretty much everything is perfect and looks brand new, and the cherry on the top was the super friendly staff. We got a very good deal pricewise and were amazed by the facilities.

Now, the hotel is in the Obidos region (about 12 km from the Obidos Castle), so you will definitely need a car. I highly recommend it, and would stay there again, and again, and again...

This was the best hotel we stayed at during our recent trip to Portugal. The location is spectacular, the rooms and grounds are immaculate, and the staff are top notch. They even bring you a treat in your room in the early evening (truffles etc). A highlight was the sushi at dinner. Highly highly recommended. Can't wait for your next trip back.

Very limited facilities and no local amenities. Be prepared to hire a car or spend a lot on taxis. Suited us as just a brief stay to attend a wedding in the area. Hotel appears to be the first part of a future development which either appears to be on hold or not going ahead, or maybe just a long way off. \"Design\" hotel perched near the sea all by itself! Service - sometimes slow and not polished. Rooms - nice, comfortable, modern. Gym - hot and stuffy but not badly equipped. Restaurant - the breakfast room doubles as \"Kobe\" - brightly lit, no music - a shame as really kills evening atmosphere. Food ok. Breakfasts - really nice, lots of choice. Ok hotel, slightly strange lonely atmosphere.
