We enjoyed our stay in this lovely historic building. It was a 5 min drive to main Obisdos town. The pool and tennis court was out of action.the rooms were large and air. The breakfast was ample.

Lovely grounds and charmingly decorated interiors. Perhaps not the most comfortable beds (two single beds for my husband and myself) but the ambiance of the place made up for it, and our room and adjoining bathroom were quite spacious. Breakfast was wonderful!

Beautiful old farmhouse that has separate quest houses and apartments in a tranquil setting but yet close and easily accessible to the town. Lovely staff, delicious breakfast. Couldn’t have found a nicer spot for us. We didn’t have time in October to use pool or tennis courts but would love to come back .

Authentic nice country cottage

Casa Cristina is an authentic country cottage with nice interior decor. The house has been kept in a good condition. All the 3 rooms were spacious, clean and warm. The toilets were clean and well equipped. We did use the kitchen for cooking our dinner for one of the two nights of stay. The kitchen ware were easy to use and good for our group of six. Only one dislike was that some of the lamps in one of our rooms were out of order. There’s no plug for one of the bed side lamp at all, so it’s just a props. Host is a nice gentleman who gave us advice for restaurant. And there is daily housekeeping service.

We were warmly welcomed to this superb historic house. It is nestled behind the castle so it is quiet and an escape from the tourist traffic. Breakfast was plentiful and thoughtfully presented, will all guests sitting around a large dining table. Highly recommend

Beautiful setting, quaint country house. Quite rustic. Very quiet at night. Even though it’s outside of town you can easily walk to town and restaurants. Breakfast supplies of cheese, meat, yogurt, milk, cereal and fresh bread were provided. Also provided a welcome snack and some port wine which was nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Could use a sofa in living room and a brighter light fixture in the dining room. It was too cool to eat in the backyard when we were there, and we found the living/dining room could be made a bit more comfortable for 4 people to spend time in.

It’s a very charming quiet country home, well located about a 5 minute drive to town. We enjoyed the possibility of having a dip in the pool on a hot day. There is no air conditioning which usually would be no problem because there’s a lovely breeze at night but our screen was torn so we didn’t open the window. We had twin beds in our room which were exceptionally narrow. The mattress didn’t fit the base and was uncomfortable. We appreciated the eco responsibility of laundering, but our towels were like stiff scratchy cardboard. Breakfast was served in the dining room which was lovely. All guests sat around a large dining table. With so many different languages spoken, it was awkward at times, constantly asking to have things passed about.

Beautiful b&b. Staff was very nice and helpful, and the property is very pretty, however, for us, it' wasnt that comfortable of a stay. The beds were very uncomfortable. The WiFi is only available on one public area, and is quite slow. The shower had very low water pressure and there is no air conditioning in the rooms. To summarize, it's a beautiful property, just not comfortable...

Absolutely beautiful property and location just outside of town, must be seen in daylight top really appreciate. The common room on the second floor, with pool table, was an unexpected surprise. Everything was immaculately clean except for the common w/c on the main floor was slightly neglected. Our private w/c was perfectly clean, my only complaint would be that the shower head would not stay up on it's own and had to be held manually, and the towels could have used a little fabric softener when being washed :-). Nonetheless, a very beautiful planned to stay.

Gorgeous country setting and beautifully maintained grounds. Beautiful pool and tennis courts. Instead of booking a room in the main house I confusedly reserved what turned out to be a cozy sand charming self contained apartment within the the complex. It had a living room bedroom and kitchen and well stocked with all the equipment one might need for an extended stay. The manager explained that breakfast does not come with the apartment rental but they gave it to us complimentary nonetheless, Main manor house had nicely decorated and comfortable common spaces. Great buffet breakfast served at large communal table in elegant ding room.Even though out in the countryside, we were just five minutes to restaurants for dinner and village of Obidos. In Fact, you can see the Obidos castle lit up at night from the Hotel.

Enjoyable Stay

It is a beautiful house with a lovely garden. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The welcome porto and pastry were fabulous. The continental breakfast, as called, was really much more than what was named, with huge selection of cold cut meats, cheese, fruits, pastries, etc. We ate with our fellow guests at a big table. We truly enjoyed meeting everyone there. They were all very interesting people from various parts of the world. People came and went so we got to meet different people at different time. It was wonderful!

The location is very close to the Obidos castle. It's probably better to walk than drive. The wrinkle of walking is: at night a segment leading to the hotel is a field without light. So I recommend walk to the castle and have dinner there. When ready to return to hotel, have the restaurant call a cab, then go to the castle entrance to wait for it. We tried to drive to the castle once. One wrong turn led by our GPS cost us three hours to get out. Unless you are confident about driving, I recommend walking.

Lonely hotel outside town

Hotel is way outside town, below the hill (good thing, you get a nice view of the town wall / castle from here). It is pretty isolated (good thing, you have plenty of space to park and rooms are big). It is an old country house without many amenities (it does have a pool / tennis court that we could not use). Has a run down feeling. Probably run by a couple that appears tired as well. Room was very simply furnished (with pump shampoo and soap). Had to bring a portable heater to heat up the room at night. Breakfast was community style, with all guests sitting around a table. Good experience, but food was very bare bones (no eggs!).

Good hotel a short distance outside the town

Compared to the other hotels we stayed at during our stay, this hotel had one big advantage, a very nice outdoor pool, and one big disadvantage, no air conditioning. It was hard to find by GPS so use the excellent directions on the hotel web site and there are also several signs on the roads near to the hotel to assist. The room was comfortable other than lack of AC. Breakfast was very good. Obidos is a very interesting small town and also convenient for visiting the local area. We stayed two nights and went to Obidos, Alcobaca, Batalha, Tomar and Nazare. We walked from the hotel to the town, there is a pathway from the hotel, but it is not so easy, I made a wrong turn into a private yard and was bitten by an unfriendly dog. Tore my pants but not my skin.

Lovely B&B in the Portuguese countryside

This is a charming B&B that sits below Obidos. It is a short drive to the parking lot just outside the walled city. The B&B has nice bedrooms along with a shared living room for reading, wifi, relaxing and sipping port. There is also a nice dining room for the free breakfast. We enjoyed the hospitality and meeting other travelers over breakfast. We stopped here for one night en route from Porto to Lisbon. Wish we could have stayed longer. It is a relaxing location with a pool, tennis court and great view of the castle on the hill. Not hard to find with GPS. Highly recommend.

A beautiful, relaxing spot

Obididos is a wonderful area with lots to see and do. Despite it being out of season the staff made us feel very welcome and were always on hand when we needed them. We enjoyed drinking tea outside our room and taking in the lovely landscape. There are excellent restaurants a very short walk away so we enjoyed a glass of wine without having to worry about driving.

Summer location away from the tourist crowds

The accomodation is on flat ground next to Obidos which is a very steep climb away so we had to drive to go anywhere. In the summer if you like walking this would be a charming location as there are restaurants a reasonable walk away down a country lane. The house itself is a great looking traditional Quinta in well kept grounds. The rooms (no TV in room) are a bit dated and shabby with average breakfast I'd describe it as a mid range Bed and breakfast. The hosts were very kind.

We were denied breakfast during our 3 night stays for unspecified reasons (yet we discovered that breakfast was served to some guests). quirky hotel with some drawbacks

The staff was truly lovely-- nice, welcoming, and very accommodating. They really did try to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable even though we were only there for one night. Before booking, be aware that the B&B is historic-- so it's charming, but not all fixtures are completely modern. We booked a double room but got two twin beds pushed together with separate bedding-- not great for a couple. Breakfast is elaborate and very nice, and there are activities on the property, so this struck me as more of a family getaway spot than a hotel for those hoping to do some sightseeing in the town of Obidos.

Quiet location near busy Obidos.

Casa d'Obidos is more a B&B than a hotel so travelers who require the full services of a large hotel should be forewarned. That said, Casa was excellent! Just a kilometer or two from the town in a rural setting, the former manor house is in a beautiful garden setting with a great pool. It was the quietest night I have spent anywhere! Guests shared a long table in the dining room for breakfast which was tasty, plentiful and varied.

Traditional country house in peaceful location

This is a lovely old country mansion very near to Obidos walled town,but thankfully an oasis of peace and relaxation away from the tourist bustle.We enjoyed visiting Obidos town for a few hours: walking the walls,admiring the great views,browsing in the many shops and enjoying a drink overlooking the surrounding countryside.But it was lovely to drive back to Casa d'Obidos and within a few minutes relax in the lovely garden area and swim in the outdoor pool.
We had a lovely big bedroom,a very comfortable bed and a large ensuite bathroom.Breakfast was a communal affair - an enormous table shared by ten guests.We were a mix of Australians,French,Dutch,British and German during our three night stay.Conversation was interesting!
We enjoyed our visit and can recommend it for anyone wanting to visit this area of Portugal.

We stayed in the Casa Leonor apartment. It was roomy, clean, and nicely equipped. There are many quiet places within the large grounds to sit and enjoy the gardens and views. The staff was attentive and very friendly. We would definitely book a return stay if visiting the area again.

This was a wonderful little spot outside of the town of Obidos. If you have a car, it's probably best to stay outside of the town, as the streets are very small, and this place is a very quick drive to the town. The house felt very historic, cozy and private. There were also a few good restaurants not too far away. Breakfast was served in a cozy dining room where you dined with the other guests, very nice experience.

Stayed in March 2014. Is a beautiful old house, with some outlying buildings, in one of which was the apartment where we stayed. The setting is lovely with views of Obidos and a pleasant 25 min walk into town using a short cut across the fields. But only an ok rating because the room in March was rather musty and a bit cold. It might well be better in summer.

This is a very charming place to stay. It is 19th century house that has been wonderfully updated. The room and bathroom were clear and well decorated. The house is about a fifteen to twenty minute walk to the town which restricts you to dinner close to the hotel. The breakfasts offer much vote but there was little variety from day to day. Curiously the manager/owner while civil was a rather cold fish - odd for a bed and breakfast business person.

I highly recommend the hotel. Mariana was very helpful in giving suggestions. The old home is tastefully decorated -- the breakfast room was lovely with a long table so you could easily meet and talk with other guests. There was a lounge upstairs with TV and internet access. No internet access in the room. It is not within walking distance to castle, but an easy drive. The townspeople did not know how to find the hotel, but the tourist office gave excellent instructions.

Casa d'Obidos in Obidos

The hotel was very near Obidos - 15 mns by foot, and we had a great view of the castle from our room. We were made to feel very welcomed by Marianne, who also provided us with some bread for breakfast as we had booked a self-catering apartment without realising! The apartment was clean, comfortable and had some lovely decorative touches. The hotel also had a pool and a lovely garden to relax in. Marianne recommended a great little restaurant by the church nearby, only 5 mns' walk, which we loved so much that we went back every night! A great hotel for a romantic getaway.

Tres belle propriété très bien entretenue et aménagée avec beaucoup de goût. Très belle vue sur les fortifications d Obidos. De là, on peut aller en une vingtaine de minutes de marche en haut du village mais réservé aux bons marcheurs.

Très belle maison avec beaucoup de cachet. Situtation idéale, accès au centre d'Obidos à 20 minutes à pied.
Petit déjeuner copieux et varié, nous avons très bien été servis.

Grande potenziale.

Bella casa storica non lontana da l centro di Obidos. Camera molto caratteristica e bagno grandi ma letto piccolo. La stanza aveva un forte odore di chiuso e dalle tubature del bagno proveniva un suono di area compressa. Colazione buona, personale poco gentile.

Nous avons séjourné dans un des appartements. Nous avons aimé notre séjour. La situation géographique p/r au coeur d’Obidos est parfaite, on peut facilement s’y rendre à pieds. Le seul hic a été la propreté de la vaisselle et des napperons mis à notre disposition, certains étaient sales. Je m’attends à ce que la vaisselle soit propre à mon arrivée. Outre cela, tout s’est bien déroulé.
