The air conditioning in our room did not work. We reported it to the desk, and a staff person went to our room and supposedly did a work around with the thermostat. It didn’t work. Thermostat was set to 17 and it was 27 in our room. At 2:00 am we were opening the window. Our room felt like a sauna. At checkout, we were offered apologies but no compensation.

Lovely hotel but we arrived during the power outage that hit all of Portugal. We had no internet nor a warm meal….but staff were extremely helpful. Somehow they managed a lovely salad and drinks. Parking was difficult.

Great value. The suite was spacious for 3 people. Parking was very easy at the mall next door. Central location- near the parkway and having the mall nearby was very convenient (there’s a food court and grocery store.) I would stay there again.

Very nice hotel, conveniently located next to a shopping mall with parking, restaurants and a large grocery store, very friendly service, great breakfast. Very close to Obidos. Would recommend to anyone going to the area. We received 2 water bottles and cookies as Expedia VIP guests. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

Amazing hotel! Beautiful room, with a sitting area and very nice bathroom. Welcome water bottle and cookies.
Great breakfast and very friendly staff. Very quite and comfortable.
Centrally located in the town of Caldas da Rainha, with a beautiful city park across the street.

A short stay in Caldas da Rainha

A good hotel with lots of character. Good breakfast, although no freshly squeezed orange juice :(
Because of the hotel name, I mistakenly thought it was near the water.
Very interesting ceramics museum across the gardens. Also a ceramic factory shop which was where they used to make them, close by. The factory itself has since moved to another location in the town.
Nice market a short walk away.
Short drive to the lovely beaches at Foz do Arelho

Close and convenient

Second time staying at Sana Silver Coast. There is not much to see or do in Caldas de Rainha, but this hotel is super clean, with great staff and delicious breakfast. Hotel is near Obidos, Peniche, Nazare and other nearby towns, which makes it convenient for day trips. Hotel is adjacent to a mall, and you get to park for free at the mall garage. The mall has a supermarket inside which is very convenient for us. We will definitely come back to this hotel.

My Opinion

The staff is excellent, exceptionally clean, front desk service is great, restaurant pricey great breakfast. Needs an renovation in the rooms, tubs unsafe, dark decor needs to be brightened up. Love the location, the park is a definite attraction. Being close to shopping is a big +.

Not what expected

Staff was not very friendly. I had seen other reviews and many said there was free parking. I was told by staff it was only for some customers? The hotel is a little outdated. I would only consider it a 3 star. Breakfast was ok. I asked if I could get a fried egg. I was given a over cooked microwaved egg. Not very cozy confortable.

The buffet breakfast that comes with the room is amazing - great, healthy food and a great variety.

Excellent staff, even made an extra effort for us to have the room available prior to check in time, so that we could change cloths to attend a wedding in Óbidos.
If you’re going to Óbidos, stay here. It’s near every tourism location within 15k.

A very relaxing holiday. It is our third visit and will continue to visit.Staff are friendly and helpful.Excellent dining experience whether in the restaurant or having a snack.
Breakfast is plentiful, the hot plate needs to be higher as sometimes the food is just warm rather than hot.

All you need from a house away from home

The entire process was great, from check-in to check-out, availability with the free car park (maybe it culd be advertised better in the booking that you park for free in the shopping center behind the hotel).
Roms are amazing, breakfast was great, all good as it should be!

Pleasing to the eye, very central.

On arrival the staff very welcoming and helpful. Our room was clean a large bathroom with a choice of toiletries . Adequate wardrobe space , The hotel is in a good location, as you step out of the Hotel and across the road you can walk around a beautiful park. Only two negatives I found the bed too hard, and no tea and coffee making facilities.

A comfortable, friendly stay

We spent many months planning our vacation and couldn't decide where to stay. We will never look back, after an amazing stay at Sona. The entire property is well-maintained, the food is superb (good quality and there's gluten-free options!), the staff are extremely professional, accommodating and friendly, and the hotel has some nice perks like included breakfast, free underground parking nearby, and its proximity to the downtown area and a beautiful park across the street. We would return in a heartbeat!

Nice hotel on way back to Lisboa.

Stayed one night after touring around. Perfectly fine for the evening, room was a little dark, but mighty comfortable. Breakfast was good. Had dinner in a restaurant in town. Park opposite hotel is lovely for a stroll.

Nicest hotel very close to Obidos (Portugal). With free park, breakfast included and nice amenities.
The parking is in a little mall close by. Could be a little inconvenient sometimes, but I didn't have problem with that.

Lovely hotel

Room and bathroom is very clean and fresh.The breakfast choice is sufficient and quite good standard. We enjoyed our 4 nights stay there. If we are to return to Caldas in the future, will not hesitate to stay there again. The only thing I miss in the room is a kettle to make cups of tea and having a box of tissues in the room will be nice as well.

A great alternative

Sana Silver Coast is only a few minutes drive from Obidos and is a great alternative to staying inside the walls. Very well maintained rooms and common areas. A great value!

Superb Sana Silver Coast

The Hotel was first class. The room was clean and well equipped, with a good bathroom. The service was impeccable, the breakfast was great and it was good value for money. The location was fine, although it is adjacent to the shopping precinct, it is also right also the park. I would recommend anyone thinking of staying in this area to give it a try, I cannot fault it at all.

Lovely hotel near shopping, bars and restaurants.

We really liked this hotel except for the food. Excellent breakfast selection but hot foot only tepid as best. Very very poor orange juice in a country famed for it's oranges. Evening menu pretentious and odd, strange combinations at quite high prices. But the room was lovely, great lounge, easy parking and very nice staff.

Brilliant hotel, loved every minute of our stay..

We were delighted with firstly the location of the hotel, opposite the most beautiful park & five minutes walk in to Caldas.The breakfast was amazing with lots of hot & cold choices, we looked forward to the lovely coffee too. Our beds were so comfortable, the room plenty Big enough & quiet. The staff were so helpful too could not do enough for us. Don't think twice about booking through Sana, we will be back or sure....
