Beautiful property! My fiancé and I extremely enjoyed staying here while we had a christmas party in St. Mary's. The rooms/each building are kept so nice and the beds are so comfortable! 10/10 experience. Parking is right beside which ever building you are in, easy and short walk to your room (especially nice in the winter as it was a chilly one)!

We have stayed at the Westover Inn before. It's quiet on the higher floor. The room we usually have is fine. The cable/tv wasn't working. We lowered the blind and couldn't get it to go back up. So there is definitely wear and tear thats happening. We love the grounds and location.

Room was clean, staff was rude,(got locked out of one room and texted someone who showed up not happy and was very rude to me ) parking not the greatest, air conditioning not very good.
We did not stay in the house on the main picture, it was on the hill beside which was an old dorm converted into rooms. Not a great atmosphere, smelled musty and carpet flooring worn and brown satined, very small, and if the door was opened when your partner left, anyone in the hall would see the person lying in bed. Small TV, screen not set properly to the 16:9 configuration but to Wide setting so part of picture missing. Bathroom and shower were good. Nothing to do at night cause everything closed on property at 5pm on a Wed. Your to far to walk to anywhere else.
Should have went home after play in Stratford.

We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings at the Westover Inn, yet it was so close to the town! The lady at the front desk was very helpful! We highly recommend you check out the Snapping Turtle for coffee & breakfast as well as Naina's Indian Kitchen & Grill. It was the best Indian food we've ever had!

Nice but property needs a facelift

We stayed 2 nights. This Hotel was, I'm sure beautiful, in its day, but the grounds outside need some flowers and the rooms inside need paint. Just looks unloved and run down... The first room we were in Rm 18, smelt musty, the air conditioner was very noisy, the toilet did not flush well and the bathroom sink was clogged. We complained the next morning and the service personnel was very accommodating and did not hesitate to move us to a different location Rm 5. Rm 5 was lovely, but was dated also. For the price of this old Hotel, I would expect glass drinking glasses and/or glass coffee mugs. When the staff went home for the night, there was no way to get cold water or ice for drinks. Bottled water would have been nice and an ice machine should be made available.

The property was covered in snow. Hard to even see the driveways to know where to drive for the three days I had access to it. The room was somewhat clean but dirty, especially under the bed with some random socks under there. Tub kept filling up with water, remote control wouldn't work. Being by an exit, someone kept slamming the door all night the second night I was there.

This is a very beautiful property. Everything was sparkling clean, simple and elegant.

The grounds are extensive, well maintained and very pretty. We had a peaceful and relaxed stay and one of the best night’s sleep in an extremely comfortable bed.

We really enjoyed it and would love to come back again sometime.

Booked the “superior” king room, which was a small room just big enough for the king so i don’t get what was superior about it, it didn’t have any other furniture showed in the photos and didn’t have the amenities listed in the room description like black out curtains. The staff were also very rude.

This was a great hotel and we'll be back for sure. The only reason it isn't getting five stars is because the fridge in our room made crazy noises all night and kept us both up. Easily fixed!

Amazing place and very charming. Definitely give it a try and enjoy the adorable little town of St. Mary's!

The property was cleaner and alot of the outdoor areas had bèen spruced up since our last stay. The room smelled freshly cleaned. The staff were nice and helpful. The reason for the lower score was the noise in the middle of the night. The person/people in the room right above us sounded like a heard of elephants. So there was little sound buffer between the floors in the side building. They came in late and everytime i thought they had stopped tromping around and started nodding off, theyed march around the room and wake me up again. At one point something was dropped and i would have sworn it was coming through the ceiling. That was around 2 am in the morning. we had plans for early in the morning so there was little sleep. This is the closest hotel to our destination so we'll probably stay again. Overall it was improved over our last stay.

Property is in poor condition. Dated and not kept to standard that would warrant price per night. Noisy air conditioning unit kept us awake most of the night. Poor lighting in room was depressing from small flimsy lamps. The bedding was nice and extremely clean however the overwhelming smell of javex was most unpleasant. Smell from water treatment plant across the road kept us from opening windows and walking the property. Meal in dining room was fine but items missing in entres as described. Wait staff were friendly but not properly trained which was clearly a fault of management. In summary this property needs a complete overhaul to demand 5 star prices.

Unfortunately, during our stay, we did not sleep at all. It was advertised that the room had air-conditioning. Our room was so hot, even with the windows open. My husband is very heat sensitive as he has MS.

The room was beautiful overall. The inn is located in a nice area as well. The staff were kind and welcoming.

We were just so exhausted the next day for not sleeping at all that we didn’t enjoy our stay.

We were many years ago and had an amazing dinner and terrific breakfast. However, this time we find out that breakfast is only served on Sundays. If this happens to you, just go to Joes Diner. Great service and good food! Also, the room was clean enough, but it is in need of a reno. We’re glad that we have the memories of years past, as this was truly a terrific place to stay/dine.

There was a terrible sanitzer/tidy bowl smell when you walked into the building and our room out back of the inn So strong it lingered all night i wasnt sure i wanted to stay. Very strong glade type smell but couldnt not find a plug inn.

Could here lots of movement from the room above all night.
other than that i was there many years ago and stayed in the inn itself and had an outstanding dinner in the restaurant. staff that welcomed us and checked us out she was so lovely and friendly

The staff was super helpful and really cared about the guest experience. The room for the expedia deal was smaĺl and in a different building from the main Inn, basic but fine. One thing i would change or upgrade is the fact that there is nothing for breakfast even though they have a restaurant on site.The inn has just reopened and is getting an overhaul so with that in mind, I would definately stay there again.

Property was unique in the way that it has so much history. But buildings and property definitely need work. Room was musty smelling and very small. Grounds could be beautiful, but gardens were over run with weeds and grass. Very little in the way of flowers, annuals or perennials. The seating benches and chairs need to be replaced. Nicest area of the property was the pool. It was clean and well maintained.

The smell upon entering the inn made me want to wear a gas mask…. It is an old house and unless you’re into mouldy smelling places, I strongly suggest go elsewhere.
Having said that, the room we stayed in was clean, comfy bed, decent bathroom. There was an empty plugged-in fridge that gurgled, no breakfast for $240….I’ve stayed in waaay better places for less.

The property is lovely and the price was relatively modest for the days we were there. Staff were pleasant but are only onsite for business hours, and the vaunted restaurant was closed during our stay. The room was on the small side, but was comfortable and clean. The hallway in the building smelled of bleach or paint, but fortunately not in the room. It had an outdoor pool which we did not used due to the rain. We would consider staying again, however, as the price was reasonable, the grounds were lovely and St. Mary's is quaint and close to Stratford to see the plays.

We had a wonderful dinner in the dining room. The service was beyond perfect and the food was unbeatable. I had the pork tenderloin, specialty of the day. My spouse had strip loin steak. Both the meat selections were so tender. The meal was beautifully plated with pencil size carrots, whole green beans and tiny potatoes. I had a wine spritz and my spouse had a Wellington brown ale. Both were refreshing and complimented our dinner.
For dessert we both had the inn made vanilla ice cream and warm chocolate cake. It was a delicious and an appropriate size considering the amount of food we had already eaten. Coffee rounded out the meal and we retired to our room.
Our server, Jayden, was attentive and informative. She answered our questions and even checked with the chef regarding the portion size of the meat.
The dining in experience was worth the cost.

After we paid we were informed there would not be any housekeeping for multiple nights nor staff there when we arrived. The inn has history but where we stayed was an old dormitory. It smelled, the bed was terrible, room small with no character and cheap furniture, the shower had no pressure, pool was covered in leaves and bugs and the coffee maker was missing. We spoke with staff on the 2nd day and she did replace the coffee maker. We were told that Christopher Plummer always stayed there when at Stratford. I assume there are better rooms in the actual inn and/or the inn has declined considerably. St. Mary’s is charming the Westover Inn is not.

Great location and picturesque buildings. After arriving at 5pm we had to use late arrival procedure which did not give us access to lobby or reception located in lovely building. No staff members on site. Since we were only given written directions to a building not the picturesque one shown in advertisement, we could not access maps and information about the area. We then tried to find information with wifi.Since wifi was very limited we were still unable to find out what we could do in the lovely town.Room was very basic and small queen size bed was uncomfortable. Had we left earlier than 930 we would not be able to speak to staff. When we expressed our concerns and disappointment the receptionist began shouting and accusing us of threatening her and became irate and shouted at us all the way to parking lot. How sad that her lack of hospitality tarnished our memories of St Mary’s.Despite this terrible experience we did enjoy the town.

My husband and I enjoyed staying at this inn. Guests are distributed across various annex buildings, all situated in a very green and pleasant campus. The location is charming and quiet. Their restaurant chef has remarkable talent (!). The facility needs upgrades, however--a new hallway carpet, a fresh coat of paint on many buildings. In our room, the coffeemaker was not situated in a location where one could actually plug it in, and there was no suitable space for opening and leaving open a suitcase. The room was too cold when we entered. (The window air conditioner was turned up too high.) The internet didn't work. We would nonetheless recommend this place to others--as unique, safe, quiet, and enjoyable. Also, as noted above, we were impressed by the cook!
