It was very central to everything. They gave us secure parking for our motorbikes. Staff were very friendly and helpfull. Rooms were spotless and shower was perfect. Very central for touring the loire valley area. Highly recommend a stay here. 10 out of 10

That hotel was pretty good comparing to our experience in Paris. Location was good. Public parking is recommended. Don't pay 13 Euros to the hotel. Public parking next to it is just 8.50 per day and only for hours when you use it. Thus, it will be much cheaper. If you leave at 9AM and park at 6PM or between 12PMand 2PM - it is free.
Staff was OK but not very friendly.
We had a fridge and a kettle. Tea and coffee available.
Overall, it is a good hotel in the heart of Blois.

The advertising for this place is the definition of false advertising. The room was the tiniest room I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve stayed in Japan. You could barely fit two people in there without running into each other between the counter and the bed and I had myself, my husband and two kids. I booked this property because of the pictures online that are ridiculously unrealistic but I wouldn’t know that until we arrived unfortunately. The pool is freezing and tiny. There were 12 people at the pool and you couldn’t go anywhere without running into someone…like barely fit five people in the pool comfortably. My daughter could not even jump in and swim without splashing other people. I legit thought I was booking a castle because that is in your pictures. I’m not from here so I did not know it is a local castle that you advertise as your hotel. What a joke. I paid so much money for a concrete jungle. Honestly I want my money back. My family travelled from Canada to stay in castles and have an experience that we can’t get at home. This was extremely disappointing. I’m staying now at the Fourvière Lyon for the same price. It feels and looks like a literal castle, as advertised. We have a two room, two bath little suite. The fact that these two rooms are technically considered equal is wild to me. Fix your false advertising please and I’d like to see you remedy this situation. Unbelievable.

The location of the hotel was fine. It’s fairly close to the city center. The staff were friendly but this hotel should not have a 4 star rating. While the rooms and hotel were clean the condition of the hotel interior are tired. The outside of the hotel is badly in need of a refresh. In addition, the pictures of the hotel do not accurately represent the exterior. At breakfast when items ran out during the service hours the items were not refilled.

Hotel was modern and had all the amenities that we needed (e.g. free WiFi, charging ports, safe, shower soaps, nice shower with overhead and hand-held, etc.). The restaurant was closed when we arrived, but the chef makes really nice items available for purchase at the bar behind the reception. I can’t remember the name of the person who helped us, but he warmed up our two items, got us some bread and made me a perfect margarita too. Since it was pouring down rain, we opted to dine in and were glad we did when we saw so many coming back to the hotel completely soaked. Thanks!

The staff tried to convince me to pay 8 Euro to use their parking. When I asked how much the public parking was he told me it was the same. Incorrect! Public parking was 4.8 Euro, almost half the cost and it was much more convenient. They also immediately added up the breakfast fees, which was $16 euro . I had to ask them to take off the charges. I felt like they were price gouging.
Location is not the greatest. You need to walk 15 minutes to get to town

Not a good reward night, No more hotels.com for me

Avoid at all costs. Price started off ok and used my reward night so was only about €50 including breakfast. In my haste to get the booking done I booked for that night in error. To get it changed cost another €60 and when we Got to the hotel suddenly breakfast was not included, they were almost empty , parking was not included and they charged us €30 to have the dogs in the room.

Good stay close to city centre

Stayed there during very hot days and unfortunately the air conditioning was not working properly it was hard to sleep. Swimming pool was handy to refresh but rather small. Parking available in the neighborhood, good location close to Château of Blois and city center. Overall a good and clean hotel but somehow it didn’t feel like a great value for money.

Not the best Novotel unfortunately

Good central location but otherwise quite disappointing. Understaffed- took ages to check in and no bar staff to look after customers.
1 complimentary bottle of water instead of one per head as in other Novotel hotels. Same for tea bags- only one in room. Air-conditioning in one room didn’t work and breakfast again not as extensive as in other Novotel hotels. Disappointing!

New hotel.... Could do with better service

We arrived early in blois having cycled part of the loire a velo. We looked to check in and were told our room would not be available until 2pm so we waited. We ordered some drinks and eventually the room was ready at 3pm. The room was small but the air con was good. My daughter wanted to use the pool but there was not a single umbrella at the pool in 35 degree heat. The facilities in the room were good and it looks really new. Location of hotel to town was also good.

Nice room, friendly staff! The location is not actually in the “centre” as the name implies, but it is a 10 minute walk to everything in the city center. Being a little outside of the old town and city center keeps it a little quieter and less expensive, which gave it great value.

Front desk amazingly great, housekeeping not so much. Our given room not done, alternate room almost ready, had to wait 5 minutes. Next day, we recieved a new bottle of water, no towels, no coffee, no clean up. Had to ask for a little re-fresh. Parking was easy, bar at nite nice.

Comfort room booked for 2 adults and 1 child aged 15. After a day of travelling up from the South we entered our room to see that a sofa bed had been provided for our daughter. Usual teenage tantrum which I resolved by opening up the bed to make a double. We were late arriving and still had to find somewhere to eat and it wasn’t until the following morning when I checked my reservation that I noticed the room I had actually booked was one with a double and twin beds. Nothing was raised with reception at the time as no price difference. Double Beds was comfortable but when I turned on the bedside lights I did notice that the telephone and table were very dusty.

All staff were very helpful, we had a problem with the room safe and they put our items in reception safe, our safe fixed next day. Breakfast was good, room was comfortable, the hotel was in a good position with a free electric bus into town within 100 mts. If we went back to blois, we would stay here.

Good basic hotel at a reasonable price. Told when we checked in that breakfast was included but when we checked out were charged for it and told that it was not. We were told that we should not have been told that by the woman who checked us in; that it was a mistake.. We were charged anyway. €20 each is exorbitant for the breakfast we received. Otherwise the facility is quite acceptable.

Solid hotel.

We stayed with the Holiday Inn for 4 days at the end of August 2017. It really is a no frills hotel. The room is quite plain, but it was clean and comfortable, and it was a great size for Europe. It did have funky blue lighting in the side of the room that made it a little dark at night even with all the lights on. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They called cabs for us and gave us information on the surrounding chateaus. It's a little far from the city center, but we knew that going in. It was about a 10 minute walk down to the Chateau Blois, and a 20 minute walk to the train station.

The breakfast at the hotel is included. While the food it nothing life changing, it is very well stocked with a large selection of breads, juices, coffee, meats, cheese, and eggs. The breakfast staff was very friendly. It was a great way to start off the day.

This hotel will not blow you away, but if you just need a clean, simple, straight forward home base with breakfast and plenty of space, its a good solid choice.

We booked a room with king bed only 5 mins before checking! We were then told no king bed and they had no other rooms by extremely rude woman on front desk. Late at night when room was too hot to sleep in we were told that the air conditioning in our room did not work and Jocelyn moved is to another room! Woman at front desk checked us into a room knowing full well that the air conditioning did not work and also lied to us about having no other room available! Absolutely disgraceful!!!!!

If you like Holiday Inn this is a place for you.

This Holiday Inn will be familiar to anyone who has stayed at a Holiday Inn in the states. Clean, large rooms and bathrooms and the usual services. We were very happy with our stay except for the very poor A/C in our first room. We were unable to more because all the rooms were booked because of a busy weekend. The staff went out of thier way to help us with a problem that should be taken care of by management/room refurbishment.

We were able to eventually move to a very comfortable room. One concern for some might be the hotel's location. It is on the top of the hill in Blois and most of the dining and nightlife is at the bottom of the hill making for a difficult return if you walk, or a fairly expensive cab ride.

Found out was in a handicapped accessible room with wide bathroom door, open shower and elevated toilet seat. This is definitely a hotel for business, rather than for leisure. You can feel nearly all guests are in work suits! My friend and I went to Blois for a day to visit the chateau, St.Louis and St.Nicolas churches; staying in this hotel can allow us to walk down to town without too much trouble. The room is standard, clean and reasonable in price but no excitement.

Lovely hotel in the town of Blois. My party of 14 motor cyclists found it a great hotel and the location was excellent. We had B&B at the hotel, eating out as there was such a choice of restaurants it seemed the only thing to do.

This is a nice hotel, well decorated but a little bit shabby - AC wasn't working in one of the rooms, the safe was working in the other. There is a car park at the back for hotel guests. When we arrived a lovely lady at reception spoke very good English, gave us lots of information about where to go in town and vouchers for the Chateau and other places. She was very helpful throughout our stay. They seem to be understaffed but everyone was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. We'll definitely go back to Blois and definitely stay at the Holiday Inn.

The hotel looks dowdy from the outside, like it needs a new coat of paint, but inside is very neat and clean (although the lobby decor is a bit funky for my taste). PROS The room big and well appointed. The parking is free. CONS Breakfast leaves much to be desired. Not in center of the city, you need car or public transportation to get to Blois Castle.

Overall, to me it's a solid 3 star.

Close to everything in the old city, spotless and pleasant.
The staff were very helpful, and printed some documents off for us, gave great directions and recommendations for restaurants, and were welcoming and efficient.
The breakfast (included in the room rate) was very good - lots of lovely local cheeses, fruit, eggs and of course croissants!
Our room looked out onto a lovely courtyard, and so it was quiet with no traffic noise.
This was a great deal for a reasonable price, and we recommend it highly.

The hotel is fairly hard to find. The parking for the hotel is not signposted very well and it is unclear how you would park to check in before using the hotel car park. We arrived on Sunday evening so we could park in the public car park with no problem but it might be difficult at other times. However the staff on reception were helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good.

Good and convenient hotel

This is a very convenient hotel in Blois. It is very easy to find with all the directions on the road. The room is very convenient and staff was very helpful. Parking was just at the back of hotel and its easy to park. The hotel is clean and shower was good. It takes around 15 min walk from the major tourist area but acceptable. Breakfast was also included with good variety of food which is much better than most of the 3 star hotel in France.
I will definitely come back given its convenience location and good facilities.
The only thing I would complain is that the sink and the bath tub are both a bit clog. Water cannot go away easily.

Blois was a surprise and a beautiful town to stay in. The old town was lovely and wandering around it was a real treat - great shops too. Hotel was easy to find and centrally located. We had superior room and at the back so peaceful and as Blois is hilly there was a bus going past the hotel we walked but handy as uphill steep on hot day, we loved visiting the Chateaux and cathedral along the Loire we had markets shops and the delicious patisseries .to enjoy and the Chambord chateau was stunning a WOW the only moan was our room was never made up before 4 00 and we like to rest up after morning for 2 hours from 2 to 4 but otherwise great hotel

We were here for 2 nights with our 3-year-old daughter. On arrival we couldn't find the remote control for the air con. We reported this at reception & later the lady told us that our air con was not working. We were transferred to another room which we later found was not working too! The lady at reception was very helpful & efficient - she came up personally to check our air con, moved our spare bed across both rooms & was busy making phone calls to her manager & the technician (on a Sunday night). It worked in the end - the irony is the air con was actually rather noisy & it's cooler to open the window! It dried our wet clothes very thoroughly though! We received 2 drink vouchers for the bar.
Breakfast was very good quality - good selection of warm food, pastries, ham, cheese, pancakes, eggs etc. Very friendly & helpful waitresses.
My only gripe is, we found the room a little dusty & the shower cubicle could do with a proper clean - hairs on the floor & wall and moulds on the tiles/groutings.
As we were having dinner in the restaurant, one of the wall decos fell on the table next door! Luckily no one was hurt.
Mattress very comfortable but pillows too soft. I had a neck ache by the time we checked out.
Very convenient car park situated just at the back of the building though we didn't park there as it was already full when we arrived. We parked at a public car park just adjacent to it & it cost us only €3 a day - I think Hol Inn charges more?

Great hotel.

This hotel is on a great location with free parking so it is easy to walk into the town. The rooms are very modern and comfortable with a 'pillow menu' which is great for an assured good nights sleep!
My only criticism was the price of the breakfast. I wouldn't pay 16€ for a breakfast no matter how good it was!

Fantastic stay in the beautiful city of Blois

Exceeded our expectations! I would normally avoid chain hotels but this one changed my entire perspective. Mainly thanks to the gorgeous clerk who welcomed us like a true tourism ambassador ( first in 10 days in France). She was delightful not to mention beautiful (my husband liked her A LOT). She made us feel like VIP. Blois is a lovely town. We were easy walking distance to everything. There was a lovely patisserie a few doors down.

Short walk from old town

Stayed for a few days to explore medieval town of Blois.
Room was clean and ok but for the lack of a strong reading light.
Desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. This was in complete contrast to the frosty reception we met on returning to the hotel late, after midnight. We had not known that the front door would be 'locked' and we would have to ask to be let in!
We did not eat at the hotel and we didn't use the bar area as it wasn't 'cosy' enough.

After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, we selected this hotel over the other \"one\", with the same rating. Not sure if we made the correct decision. We were given a room on the ground floor upon check-in, we found a spider on the bed crawling away...disgusting. The parking lot is not large enough to accommodate the guests so you may have to park in the public lot directly beside it. Wi-fi/internet is not free, although significantly expensive, it was unclear on the hotel website.

Nice hotel with free parking, that’s a 10-15 minute walk to the town center, and probably 20 to the train station. Staff was friendly and helpful, and room was clean, quiet, and large by French standards. Maybe starting to show a little age, but not too bad. AC worked well, but was controlled by a somewhat confusing remote control. Not a lot going on in the immediate vicinity. A couple restaurants within a couple blocks but you’re better served walking to the center of town—unless you’re going to be here on a Saturday, when they set up a huge market in the square about a block away. Location is very good to get to Chambord and Chaumont, but a little further (probably 45 minutes) to Amboise and Chenonceau. Would recommend to anyone coming by car with plans to explore the Loire chateaux.

ADDRESS in Expedia was WRONG!

We got the directions for this hotel from Expedia however they have the WRONG ADDRESS! At 2AM in the morning (after an 8 hour driving day) the address that Expedia had listed sent us 20 minutes in the wrong direction. We had the directions in our GPS exactly as Expedia had the address listed but it was not the correct address. This caused 40 minutes of delays after an already very long day in the car as well, it was very late at night. Very disappointing. We finally went to the hotels main website and did a search to find the correct address for them.

Quiet, clean and easy parking

Stayed 3 nights in early June while visiting Loire Valley chateaux. Parking lot was right behind hotel and if full staff was most helpful in moving their cars so we could park close to hotel. Easy walk downhill to Blois town center and invigorating walk uphill! Room was clean, comfortable and spacious for European standards - especially large shower. Would stay again.

Nice Stopover

We stayed here for one night on our way back to Paris from the south of France. The hotel was nice and clean. Staff was friendly. The hotel is a long walk from the city center, but it's all down hill so not too bad. We enjoyed our brief stay in Blois and would stay in this hotel again.

Lovely hotel but 20 minutes walk from the centre

Enjoyed ourselves. Very good food. Pool a little small for swimming and distance from the centre was a disappointment particularly as the main bridge across the river was closed for a new tram being built.

Location was fine ,just a short walk to the Chateaux,Cathedral very close.Hotel carpark just out of the back and whilst open to the public it has a barrier and seemed 'secure'.Room was modern.We had food in the restaurant which whilst limited choice was very good quality.Staff were always helpful.

However a bit off from the centre of Blois, this hotel is still from a walking distance of all the important places in Blois. Very close to the venue called Les Lobis, so if you're going there this is your #1 hotel!

All good, room spacious but maintenance needs some improving. Small things like replacement of bulbs, effectiveness of air-conditioning unit. The breakfast service could be improved (lack of attention o detail).

Holiday Inn Blois- would not recommend it

The hotel does not have a fully functional restaurant ,they only serve breakfast and the places to eat nearby are a 10 minute walk away ..so if you are arriving at an odd time you will not get any food.The air conditioning does not work, they say it is at 20 degrees cooling but we tried it in two rooms and found it not at all effective in the heat of august.The solution was that we had a shower right before sleeping and left our windows open through the night which let in some breeze.
There are nice hotels more centrally located that should be considered.
The walk from the main restaurant areas in town back to the hotel is completely deserted at night so if eating dinner in town be careful while coming back late at night.

Excellent Hotel for the money

I was advised to stay in American hotel chains when possible and I found one major reason to support that advice, the mattress. Holiday Inn's, while firm by American standards, were mainly comfortable. The location of this hotel is excellent. I drove down to the chateau, but you could walk. Had an excellent meal in town which is right on the river and absolutely charming. Excellent place to spend the night while traveling in the Loire Valley.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this property. The rooms were very well appointed (flat panel displays, high quality showers) The Restaurant was good. I would gladly stay there again.

The hotel was not in the town center, it was on a busy road in a not very nice area, it took at least 15 minutes to get to the center. The hotel was very noisy when other guests used the toilets or showers, have been to many better Holiday Inns, the staff were very good though.

Above and Beyond!

While on vacation and staying at this hotel I had a family emergency and had to fly back to the U.S. The hotel staff was compassionate, understanding, and very helpful. Way to go!!! That's how you build a great reputation and you certainly deserve it!
