The hotel was simple, clean, and had a friendly and welcoming staff. It's located right on the Loire river and across the street is a walking path along the river. It has a tiny parking garage as part of the hotel. It was perfect for our needs.

Restaurant offering dinner, where there might be a bit of difficulty with English. My order of a 3-course menu was originally taken wrong. With some efforts the appetizer and dessert could be added back.

Nearby streets seemed a little run-down. 10-minute walk to Place Louis XII.

The public areas are well kept and very clean the check in was good and the lady on reception was excellent and very helpful and friendly. We were only staying for one night on route to another location

The room had seen better days and the breakfast buffet was a real disappointment. In country that has so many great Boulangers the quality of the morning goods was really poor mass produced part baked products the hot food was just awful. There are so many local places doing quality this was a huge disappointment and why we didn’t take breakfast and sadly whilst running our stay did mean us leaving without a good memory of the hotel

Mostly great except some poor customer service

Everything was great except we sent laundry out. It disappeared. They apologized and said they would “look after us” and said it would be next morning before we left (we were biking). It didn’t come until the afternoon and we had toured the town. We were then told that because we were still there we had not been affected so we would not be “looked after”. Well if that’s how it works, if we cancel a room they charge us! But if they fill the room then they “had not been affected”, would we then not have to pay for the room! Very poor attitude or customer service. All else was great at the hotel

Great spot, service and A/C!

Modern and comfortable from the lobby and reception to the bar, to the restaurant. The food was very good, staff frieny and -unusually in France- reliable and in-working-order A/C. They also gave me a reference to a car/driver service (Art Service) and their recommendation ended being top notch. All around a neat hot, within a short walk of the center of Blois.

Functional if rather charmless

Centrally located, the Mercure is a functional if slightly depressing choice. The rooms have all the charm of a Travelodge, with paper cups in both bedroom and bathroom, rather than mugs and water glasses. The communal areas have clearly been given a bit of a refurb in recent years, but they do little to elicit the charm one might hope from a hotel in the Loire Valley. Staff are friendly and helpful, and are clearly the high point of a stay here. Just don’t even think about trying to use the pool / sauna / jacuzzi in swim shorts; they’re prohibited.

The bar area is very open & bright, food options in the bar were excellent value.
Clean, quiet room, not huge but big enough.
We had hoped to wander around the old town to find a place for dinner, but the weather did not cooperate- we had an excellent meal in the dining room, reasonable wine list. All in all a great stopover

Had a lovely visit in Blois. The Mercure has a great location and rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is not as helpful with concierge services as we had hoped, and did not seem to know that many restaurants were closed in town for the holiday week. We ate at the hotel restaurant once for dinner, and it was very bland. The charm of the town, ease of parking across the street, and walkability made this a good choice in the Loire Valley.

arrived at the hotel after 8 hours of driving with a small child in the car, only to be told they were double booked due to computer problems and actually had no room for us. Noone knows why they confirmed the reservation and did not bother calling us to cancel the booking before arrival. Due to high season there were no other hotels in the area available either.

Expedia made trying to get a refund into a nightmare ping pong across countries and waiting lines. Never again.

Maybe a but older than some other Mercures in big cities but good. Just the ventilation (heating) could not be turned off completely and made a bit of noise.

I’ve stayed here multiple times over the years. In Blois, this is the place to stay. The staff has always been amazing, really top notch, and helpful. The rooms are fine, although they are showing their age, and should probably be updated at some point soon. The breakfast buffet, while really great in the past, slipped a little this year. There were days the crossant tasted fresh, and then there were times they tasted old. The breakfast staff has always been great, though. All in all, a really good hotel, with just a couple minor dings.

One of the coolest rooms we've ever stayed at. having an infant, it was great with him on the bottom floor in crib while we were upstairs. Our only complaint was the A/C, unfortunately we visited when it was 100F degrees out and Air conditioning did not help. in fact at night when the temperature dropped significantly it was actually hotter in the room.

Fantastic stay. It was our 30th wedding anniversary trip, and so Daniel and team gave us a special welcome upon arrival. He and Margane both went out of their way to exceed our expectations. They were friendly and helpful with our stay as well as suggestions and tips for our various day trips. The hotel itself also exceeded our expectations especially the indoor pool and jacuzzi which provided a welcome break after a day of visiting the Château’s. The overall was very good. The room is small for a couple and a child, but the size of the bathroom was good, everything new and the shower excellent.
The breakfast was good and the croissants were delicious.
The location in the city very good and for The Valley, to reach the castles and the other important cities.
The staff were very kind and helpful but they have to search in the internet all the basic answers. They should know things at least in Blois. Like the opening time and how to buy a tickets for the main attractions in Blois.

Great choice to stay in blois

We stayed one night in blogs and was really happy to choose the Mercure hotel as it was in a very nice location close TOR the center. There is a free parking room next to the hotel and the view on the Loire river is pretty romantic while you dine your breakfast. Nice selection of bread and cheese and you can cook by yourself your own style omelette which is very nice. Would defently be back to this hotel we loved the atmosphere and the modern and clean design

Three business travellers and upon arrival, one of our party was asked if they didn't mind staying at another hotel about 500m away so not a great start. Ordered dinner in the restaurant and the steak was dripping in fat and sent back. Staff at breakfast were fairly rude also. All in all not a great experience which was a shame as our previous stay there 12 months ago had been good.

A good location right on the river. Unfortunately the view is blocked to all rooms with a ‘river view’ by a large row of trees. Rooms are nice but we struggled with multiple electrical items not working; iron, TV, hairdryer, lamps all not working which was a shame. Good on site parking and easy to find

We had not been to the Loire for a while and thought it would be a good idea to spend a weekend there. Blois is a very central location and the whole area is exceptionally beautiful. Managed to visit a couple of places we had not seen, abbey of Fontevraud l'Abbaye and Montreuil-Bellamy, both exceptional in heir own way

Overall, a positive experience. Location can't be beaten. Staff were very friendly. During our stay, lots of renovation work was being done in the lobby and main floor of the hotel. While it didn't look pretty, it did not interfere with our stay. The hotel was very quiet for sleeping. Had a loft room which is a good option.

Poor value worsened by a partly completed refurb

Unfortunately when we arrived in late March, the hotel was undergoing a major refurb such that it resembled a building site. They really should have closed it. Our room had been updated but was rather small, overlooked the back of the hotel rather than the river. It did however have a good bathroom and excellent TV.

However the quality level of the room is on a par with Premier Inn (which is much better value for money whereas the restaurant pretends to reach reach a gourmet level - the food was good but expensive and limited choice. No other restaurants in the immediate vicinity. We didn't bother with breakfast at Euros 16 per person!

We were disappointed and will not be staying there again.

Very nice hotel with friendly competent staff. Great view of the Loire River from the window. Comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom. Plenty of extra towels. Instant coffee and tea unlike most European hotels. Excellent parking garage attached to hotel, a huge plus as it is in the heart of the old city and parking is at a premium.
Only complaint is that their website portrayed a big swimming pool, which was one of our motives in booking the hotel, but when we got there in mid-January, the pool was closed!

Nice hotel in the center of Blois

Stayed at this hotel for a weekend getaway. Location is great, lots of restaurants and shopping streets nearby. Blois is not a large town, you can easily walk to the Chateau as well from the hotel.
We stayed in a duplex room, it was nice and very clean but the bathroom could use remodeling with a modern shower and getting rid of the old bathtub. We didn't try the indoor pool but it looked nice and a decent size too.

Solo tourist trip. Great desk service with good English. Adjacent to police station right downtown. Very safe. Walking distance (1/2 mile or so) to restaurants, cathedral, castle and nightlife. Parking is a big problem downtown but free. Comfy clean room. Highly recommend.

Modern hotel in small city

The hotel is nice and modern compared to the city and surroundings. It is equivalent to a Hampton inn or holiday inn in the U.S.. The rooms are not large but do have a large king bed and bathrooms are comfortable., there is good air conditioning and the breakfast is buffet style so saves time. Best to walk about five or ten minutes to wonderful restaurants nearby for dinner. Nathalie the manager is very friendly and accommodating. Prices are excellent considering other European hotels.

We stayed at Mercurie Blois as a halfway stop on return from Dordogne.I wouldn't rate as 4 star due to restaurant which was poor.Hotel is more business class than family oriented albeit it does have swimming pool. Car park is secure underground, but if full their is good public parking opposite main entrance. If we had looked at Blois before eating in hotel we would have found many restaurants within a 5 minute walk to choose from. Blois as a town is on Loire and is quite hilly in places - pretty though with cobbled streets and good walks along Loire.

Stayed 2 nights there in a duplex room on top floor. The first room smelled of cigarette smoke, but we were quickly given another room, which was fine, and the staff were quick and pleasant about it. Decent breakfast provided, and close to all the sites. Not characterful, but a bargain price for a decent hotel with facilities and parking.

Good, modern hotel - close to centre

We stopped off here en route from Dordogne to Calais. Don't know why some others say it's not near town - it's a 5 minute walk from Place de la Resistance - and we had a toddler with us! Super-easy parking, lovely staff, room big (we had one of the split level duplexes - was actually very reasonable in price too). Very clean, very comfortable, would definitely stay here again or recommend to others. I've stayed in enough \"character\" hotels to know that this was a breath of fresh air. Blois nice too - my favourite Loire town. Bit more cosmopolitan than some of the others.

Shame about Staff

This hotel is pleasant enough however it lacks proper service. All the staff seem to be full of their own self importance. They all seem to be busy doing something other than looking after the customers. No point having a bar if no one tends it.
We arrived late in the evening and wanted to freshen up before eating so booked the table for 10pm. The waiter then tried at least twice to persuade us to go to the table earlier. There were 9 of us including kids and on checking the menu we decided that it didn’t suit all of us so I actually took some pleasure in letting the waiter know we would not now require his table. To which he actually accused us of not being able to afford it. CHEEK!!!

The hotel was pleasing overall; we received a warm welcome and were given all the information we required. Good restaurant guide for the town. Our room was fine but there was a slight damp smell from the bathroom, nothing bad and wasn't noticeable after a few mins. The decor in the bathroom was tired; tiles under sink and some high above opposite the shower had no filler. Bathroom in need of refurbishment. We only had 1 bottle of complementary water ( didn't notice until we were about to go to bed!). We arrived back to the hotel after dinner in the town at 10.30 and the hotel bar was seemingly closed, no staff to ask ect. we ended up heading to our room. The room was clean and functional - shame about a few minor details. Mecure in Orleans was superior.

Good for exploring the Loire

Though nothing fancy, this hotel meets all the needs of the traveller to the Loire Valley - we basically used it as a place to sleep, and explored the valley during the days, and the restaurants in town at night. The immediate surrounding neighborhood was a bit untidy, but the hotel was a quick 5 minute walk to the city center which is being nicely renovated. The hotel is used by travelling tour groups. Parking was an extra on top of the prepaid rate

Really enjoyable stay.

We were given a superior room on the 4th floor at the front of the hotel. It was split onto two levels with the bathroom and seating area below and the large, comfortable double bed above. Both areas had TV's and there was a safe and small fridge on the lower floor. The coffee making machine was a little tricky to operate but welcome.
The room was kept very clean for the 3 nights of our stay. The room was quiet,despite being on quite a busy road, a few minutes walk from the town centre.
There was also a balcony overlooking the river.
Really efficient air conditioning which was much appreciated in the very hot conditions during our stay.
The breakfast buffet is excellent but pricey.
The reception staff spoke really good English and were very helpful.
There is secure parking under the hotel. We would definitely stay again.

A Great Surprise

I didn't quite know what to expect from this quaint lovely town. The hotel was a nice surprise with the reception desk greeting me with all the information I could possibly want at check-in. They were always helpful and the entire hotel was always very clean and presentable. The breakfast buffet was a nice way to start the day, more than the continental breakfast you find at some hotels. All and all I enjoyed my stay and would return or recommend it to a friend.

My husband, daughter and I stayed for 5 days in a 3 bed room.IOverall we had a wonderful time in this hotel. We loved the spotless cleanliness, the variety of the breakfast in a beautiful setting, the bar and pool. The room was on the small side and I would have liked the staff who assisted with breakfast to be a bit more cheerful. The reception desk staff was helpful. We would definitely stay here again. Rooms very clean, comfortable with air conditioning. Very good breakfast. Close to the river and cycle routes. Car park beneath the Hotel. I would stay there again.

One of our favourites

We have stayed here on six occasions so it is obviously worth a visit,a good family hotel, the rooms are comfortable and the communal areas great. The pool for us is a big draw as we have an 8 year old boy. All the staff are very friendly and are multi-lingual.

Outstanding Hotel

Excellent, extremely well maintained hotel with clean modern rooms in a great location across from the river and in easy walking distance of the \"old town\" area of Blois. Staff were friendly. Their breakfast is outstanding. I was very surprised by the high quality of this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

The hotel wasn't quite as close to the town centre as we expected but it was still within easy walking distance.
One of the rooms smelled of cigarette smoke-- suggest you specify non-smoking and quiet. Ours were very quiet.
Although the hotel car park was closed, there was easy parking opposite the hotel. You need to check which parts are free! mid-afternoon on a holiday Saturday, it was quite full but spaces soon appeared.

Good hotel

We had a nice stay here. It is as most other 3 star hotels clean and well serviced. There are a lot of free parking across the street if you do not want to use the hotel car park. The reception staff was very friendly at all time and recommended a great restaurant and did not have any trouble making a booking for us. The hotel is 5 minutes walk to the centre of Blois and situated on the river (car park in between). So, location wise very good indeed.

- Chambre supérieure mal / pas insonorisée (le voisin était clairement dans notre salon)
- Sdb et sanitaire à peine propre
- restauration incroyablement longue, proportion bcp trop petite et d’une mauvaise qualité. Des cheveux dans la salade de fruits de mon fils de 3 ans…
