Pleasant Stay

There was a mixup regarding one of the rooms we had reserved, though the mistake seems to have been on the part of Hotels.com or should I say Expedia, they showed me what Expedia sent them, I showed them what I reserved, NOT the same at all. Otherwise our stay was fine except the large triple room which became a small twin room with beds pushed together was very tight. We had a nice meal in their restaurant again with friendly helpful staff. The building itself is very lovely with some of the original features, though the rooms did not retain these features. The grounds are lovely, though we were there in January so were unable to enjoy them.

`Very pleasant hotel

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food and service in the restaurant was very good. Unfortunately, the restaurant lacked atmosphere. It was so quiet, as well as hearing other peoples conversations we could also hear them crunching on their toast. We had to talk very quietly. We think that if they played some background music, it would make a big difference. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay.

Late summer family break

As a family of 6 adults, we had three very comfortable rooms at the hotel for two nights. We were able to enjoy a prix fixe menu in the restaurant one night which was inventive and had fabulous quality food. The breakfasts were copious and the availability of the heated pool enabled us to relax after sight- seeing in and around the Loire valley.

This was a stop on a bike ride during the summer of 2016. I only stayed one night at this hotel. I had a late arrival after getting lost, but was so happy to be greeted by the friendly staff. I stayed in one of the rooms attached to the house, and they seemed on the rustic side. I slept comfortably. The breakfast was nice, typical for the area: meats, cheeses, yogurts and bread. I do remember the breakfast room be well lit and pretty nice. I only spent a few hours there, and it was just an okay stop.

We have stayed over 30 nights at different hotels of different classes and standards in france this summeramd this one just didnt really make the grade for the price. It is set in stunning grounds and a lovely looking building but the interior of the rooms is very very dated and in need if upgrade. It was like staying at an old relatives house. The bathrooms especially need modernising as no real shower , just an old handset in an old bath. General repair standard if the bathrooms is poor unfortunately. The room did its job but was horrendously overpriced for what you get for your money as a lovely setting will only get you so far.

Pleasant Stay - Relais

This beautiful hotel is out in the country, totally away from the crowds. Gorgeous peaceful setting next to a small forest. It is not in Blois, and is far enough removed that if you do not have a working GPS or other good instrument for guidance, then you should definitely plan on arriving before nightfall. For our arrival, it was late and we were lost. The front desk was extremely helpful when I called for some directions. I stayed at this hotel many years ago, 1999, and had always dreamed of returning. While it is still an extremely pleasant location and setting, we felt that the staff was just a bit inattentive. It seemed that one or two of the staff may have had their big family visiting and staying at this hotel. That would be fine except that it seemed that all attention went to these other guests so that there was inadequate help or attention to us in the dining room - both at breakfast and again at dinner. We felt somewhat less than valued, which of course made this stay a little bit disappointing. This hotel is really really nice, but I checked out thinking I am not sure I will stay there again the next time we are in Loire Valley.

Special, unusual inn

Very unusual and unique inn located in an old manor house in Ouchamps, a small farm town. Well-located for visiting chateaux of Cheverny and Chambord. Interesting expansive grounds with inground heated pool (we did not have a chance to use but looked nice) and walking paths in the woods. OUTSTANDING creative dinner with many local ingredients located in the inn restaurant, as well as delicious buffet breakfast. The actual room was typical size for European standards with a very large bathroom. Pretty basic in terms of amenities, but clean. We did have kind of an odd, almost creepy feeling while we were there- I think it was due to the place being very empty with only a few other couples staying there. Nonetheless, we would recommend this as a unique experience for the Loire. The innkeeper was very helpful.

Peace and quiet.

Wonderful lodging, peaceful and quiet, and no traffic noise. Utter relaxation in beautiful countryside. The staff is very helpful and polite, and gave us some great tips on the out-of-the-way places to see, well away from the usual \"tourist traps\". Dinner is a delight, the chef is excellent. We will likely return.

nice location disappointing room comfort

Nice location.

I was disappointed with the room as there was no air con and it was extremely hot in France. The bed looked as if it was from the 70's and not very comfortable ! Disappointing shower - Shower was a hand held mixer over the bath and no fixture to hold it in place, no shower curtain so water everywhere.

Lite rolig stuga vid ett hotell ute på landet , började bli slitet pga dåligt underhåll . Trodde vi kunde äta vi kom på em men då kunde vi bara äta middag kl 21.00 med fast meny , passade inte oss eftersom vi var hungriga så vi åkte till en livsmedelsbutik och handlade åt lite picnic i stugan . Nära till många sevärda slott .

Nice hotel but some staff issues to be fixed.

Quiet hotel situated in a very peaceful environment.

Check in was relatively fast and efficient. We were taken to our room by the receptionist. Our room was situated on the first floor and was well designed and decorated.
After a long trip we had a quick swim at the swimming pool and enjoyed it.
Coming back to the room we were intrigued by the way the towels were displayed in the bathroom and we thought well that is perhaps the way they do it.

We had an excellent diner at the restaurant, each dish of the set menu was just great, the products and cooking methods were great. Service very good. we really enjoyed the evening and definitely recommend this restaurant for its quality of food and service.

When we went back to the room, we opened our bed to discover that there was a left over tee-shirt and that the bed sheets and pillow cases were not changed, we then realized why the bathroom towels were not folded but just hanged.
I went to the desk and the receptionist was very fast and efficient. He offered us another room but we didnt want to move at 11 pm. So he came with one of his colleague (a young chef) and did the bed and changed the linen.

The next day, he advised us that the management had decided to offer our dinner dinner drinks complementary.

The check out was very long with a wrong invoice with an extra night added (I had used a hotels reward coupon for a night) and 6 breakfasts. I had to email them my hotels.com invoice to prove the rate and the free night.

bel ancien établissement mais resté dans son jus !!
Nous occupions une chambre avec mezzanine : plein de poussière, d'araignées mortes, de toiles d'araignée dans la salle de bains !!! pas terrible surtout avec deux jeunes enfants. chambre spartiate, décoration à revoir. Dommage car il y a du potentiel. Personnel pas très investi. il semblerait que les salle de bains aient été refaites Cependant, le petit déjeuner était correct. Dommage que les produits locaux n'étaient pas présentés.+ produits congelés (pain, viennoiserie) Je ne recommande pas cet hôtel

Hôtel Propre, service chaleureux et attentionné mais les chambres sont d'un autre âge on a l'impression de faire un bon dans les année 80 pour un 4* le confort n'y est pas, nous y avions séjourné il y a 10 ans rien ne s'est amélioré, pas de wifi dans les chambres uniquement dans le couloir....
de plus nous avons diné au restaurant, le chef veut trop en faire résultat les temps d'attente du premier soir étaient purement inacceptable avec des enfants à table (45 minutes avant d'avoir les entrées) et les plats trop complexes se perdent dans les saveurs, dommage le second soir nous avons mangés à la carte pris moins de plats et la tout a été mieux.

Udmærket hotel, men det lever på ingen måde op til det, man kunne forvente af et firestjernet hotel. Prisen svarer altså langtfra til det, man får.
Meget slidte håndklæder, slidt og vakkelvornt bord-/bænkesæt på terrassen, rod her og der osv.
Dejlig pool og poolområde.
Beliggende på landet, men i køreafstand til byer som Blois og Amboise, der er hyggelige at besøge.
Vi spiste i restauranten en aften - det var en god oplevelse med lækker mad, der bestemt var pengene værd.
