My adult daughter and I stayed one night here. The experience was extremely uncomfortable. The nighttime manager was friendly and took our bags, but he led us through 10 minutes of crowded, chaotic medina alleys full of men lingering around, mopeds brushing past, and one man approaching us aggressively. Inside, the riad looked pleasant at first glance, but a strong damp, musty smell hit immediately. The manager mentioned recent courtyard construction, and dust from that work was still everywhere. The riad didn’t match the photos; the design was decent, but many finishes were shoddy. Our room had visible dirt, an old shower drain full of hair, a loose faucet, cracking plaster, and ground‑up cement or sanding dust in the bathroom hardware. It was freezing, the heat didn’t work, there was a faint smell of cat urine, and our request for a blanket went unanswered. The nighttime manager said he’d issue a refund but was unreachable when Hotels.com called and wasn’t there the next morning. The daytime manager however was excellent—kind, professional, and proactive. He contacted the nighttime manager directly so the situation could be corrected and our full nonrefundable stay was refunded.
