Friendly Pasikudah hotel

We spent 5 nights at Sun Siyam and we had a wonderful time, including a fantastic Nee Year’s Eve party. The staff were fantastic and so friendly. They looked after our little boy like royalty! We spent time on the beach and round the pool. The food was excellent with plenty of choices including lots of amazing vegetable dishes. We did a cookery session with the chef and enjoyed cooking the items we had selected from market. Everyone from the GM down made us feel very welcome, and we very much appreciated this. Our room was great for the three of us with a huge bathroom and outdoor bath. A lovely beach location with friendly team looking after you.

Nice clean quiet hotel with beautiful views of nature and beachside pool and clean private beach and small gym. The rooms (villas) are big specious and clean with many toiletries and bath towels and coffee and tea etc. there is plenty of walking space within the hotel to enjoy a nature trail type walk with surrounding trees. Also the buffet breakfast and dinner is reasonable with good selection of food on offer. Finally the staff are really helpful and friendly and always there to help. Had a great stay and made my holiday to SL enjoyable with typical Sri Lankan hospitality.

We are touring Sri Lanka for 1 month and this was one of our stops. What a neat Resort and very friendly staff. We actually wanted to extend our stay because of our experience but had to press on.

I would highly recommend Sun Aqua for the rooms, dining, beach access and atmosphere.

Great place to relax

We went for a one night visit but we were welcome nicely. Location easy to find. Great food. They have a great beach view. Beautiful beach and You can walk into the sea. good staff. Overall very good place to visit. My only bad experience is I found some mosquitoes in my room, but it’s pretty normal in SRI Lanka and they have mosquito repellents in rooms. Great experience. Cheers

Very good few days chilling near the beach

A good hotel still in excellent condition with nice rooms. We stayed for a couple of nights between Trinco and Kandy and it served us very well. Food and staff were good. Only 2 tennis balls available for use but too hot to play most of the time.

Good hotel for local standards, nice room, excellent and diverse breakfast, smiley staff but... Hotel in the middle of nowhere (and nothing to do around), over priced hotel food, dangerous edges to pool. Can not swim from beach.

No Ocean Views.

We booked this hotel specifically for the ocean view, paid extra for the privilege but were given a room with no view. We asked for the room to be changed as we had paid for \"Ocean View\". We were told they were fully booked and were unable to change rooms until the following day. We were then shown the room that we were to have. The following day we were moved, but to another room with a partial \"Ocean view\". None of the rooms had \"Ocean views and their website has since been changed to reflect this. On quizzing staff as to why we were given the room we had, we were told that others were staying for 10 days and we were staying for only 5. Not good enough.
We then asked to see the manager and were told straight away that he had left and they were waiting for a new one!
Two days later the new manager arrived and was informed by staff of our issue and our willingness to speak to him. We never even saw a second glance from him, nor were we offered any form of compensation for the extra dollars spent on the best room.
Apart from the issue over the room. everything else was to a 4* standard, however a little more training for staff would be recommended.

Lovely, cozy villas by the ocean

I celebrated my birthday with spa service daily, delicious lunches on my patio with glasses of wine, and afternoon sun bathing on the beach!

The staff at Sun Aqua are absolutely wonderful catering to your every need. They greeted me each day with a smile and were a pleasure to meet.

I will definitely come back & bring all of my friends!!!

Best find!

The best find during our trip to Trincomalee and Pasikudah. This is a brand new hotel opened in Feb 2015. All rooms are villas and the washrooms are huge! All villas are beautifully furnished and the staff extremely welcoming and accomodating.The food was fantastic.

The only downside was the inability to swim in the sea right outside the hotel. That is due to the reef and corals. The option is to walk about 1/4 of a mile to the public beach. In order to compensate, the hotel has one of the biggest swimming pools as well.

If you are looking for a hotel in Pasikudah, don't look anywhere else. Stay here. You won't be sorry!

The resort was fine, we get a complimentary bottle of wine as a lucky room number on the New Year, thank you so much and reasonable price for the new year dinner. The public pool is big and warm, but we had a room with a private pool, which was not so warm because the sun can get there just couple of hours per day. My opinion - better to install some jacuzzi with hot water. But anyway it was good.

Don't expect that you will have good access to the ocean there, just upfront a hotel wanter is very shallow, so, you can relax on the beach with good view and swim in the pool, but not in the ocean. If you wish to swim in the ocean - you need to walk 10 minutes from the hotel to the public beach or beach next to public for some other hotels.

The meal in the resort is a little bit overpriced, we stopped also in another 5 stars hotel in Passikudah and the price there was cheaper with a better quality of food. Here was very good just Fish Curry (the big portion with few sides) and value for money.

The internet connection is slow, just 1 Mbps limit per device, and not possible to make a VPN tunnel or RDP session. Not good for work if you need to connect to the remote network, but we get 23 USD sim cards in airport with 50+GB data and this solved the problem.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr modern und hochwertig eingerichtet. Die Badewanne welche im Freien ist war jedoch komplett mit dreck bedeckt. Auch nachdem der Zimmerservice am zweiten Tag da war hatte sich daran nichts geändert - schade denn sonst hätten wir sie sicherlich benutzt. Zudem war es komisch dass nachdem ich eine Bewertung zum ersten Eindruck des Hotels nicht mit sehr zufrieden bewertete ein Mitarbeiter auf mich zukam von welchem das Ziel gefühlt weniger war das Problem zu beheben als meine Bewertung zu ändern. Dies sagte er mir ziemlich deutlich. Alles in allem ist das Hotel aber schön und die Restaurants haben(wenn auch im Vergleich zu den lokalen Preisen sehr teuer) gutes essen.

Otel i çok beğendik, havuzu odaları hizmeti herşey mükemmele yakındı. tek sıkıntı ulaşım. Colombo hava alanına mesafesi 5-6saat o yüzden uçak ile yakındaki Batticalao ya local uçuş yapılsa daha iyi olabilir. Deniz dalgakıran a kadar çok sığ ve dipte mercanlar var. O yüzden denizden çok bir beklentiniz olmasın. Ama sahilde güneşlenmek ve sessiz sakin bir ortamda şezlong da uzanıp içkini yudumlamak isterseniz çok keyifli. Otel in her noktası fotoğraflık, dizaynı gerçekten çok başarılı. Sivri sinekler oda yalıtımı iyi olmadığı için sabaha karşı girip ısırabiliyor. Çocuklu aileler e sıkıntı olabilir.

Fantastisk hotell med herlig utsikt og uteområde. Hyggelig personel og god service. God mat, men litt dyrt i forhold til Sri Lanka generelt. Flere muligheter for aktiviteter, Snorkling (mye liv rett ut fra hotellstranden), tennis og volleyball.

Bel établissement dans un site magnifique

Nous avons passé 5jours dans cet hôtel confortable et très agréable. La piscine est splendide, la plage très agréable, la restauration de qualité, surtout à la carte. Certains équipements cependant sont vieillissants ( coussins, transats, parasols...) ou très mals conçus ( terrasse autour de la piscine). En basse saison, l hôtel n est pas très fréquenté et l on peut se retrouver seul au restaurant ce qui donne un petit air tristounet ....

Que dire !!!! Le sun aqua est formidable !
La chambre avec petite piscine privative, sdb extérieur et avec vue panoramique sur la plage est tout simplement magnifique. La piscine est énorme. Le service est au petit soin.
Passikudak étant en dehors de toute activité (en dehors bien évidemment des resorts aux alentours), le restaurant de l hôtel délivre de forts bons plats avec un prix \"of course\" d un resort !!!!
Véritablement un très bon hôtel, à conseiller pour celles et ceux qui veulent lézarder tranquillement pendant quelques jours.

Hotel direkt am Strand

schöne große Zimmer, allerdings häufig Stromausfall, frische Bettwäsche nur auf ausdrücklichen Wunsch. Strand leider ungepflegt, Gläser, gebrauchte Handtücher werden nur abends weggeräumt, dementsprechend schaut es nachmittags am Pool und Strand aus. Zudem sehr flaches Wasser, schwimmen im Meer vor dem Hotel nicht möglich, Pool sehr heißes Wasser, über 34° - also keine Abkühlung). Tagsüber Getränke bestellen nur mit langer Suche nach irgendeinem Kellner möglich. Personal spricht sehr schlechtes Englisch, egal ob Rezeption, Spa oder Restaurant. Angeblich gab es eine HappyHour mit Rabatt auf Getränke an der Bar. Leider wurde dieser Rabatt nur versprochen, aber nie gewährt. Auschecken aus dem Hotel dauerte über 20min, da die Einzelbelege erst umständlich zusammenaddiert werden mussten. Es ist definitiv kein 5-Sterne-Hotel, auf Sri Lanka hatten wir deutlich bessere Hotels kennengelernt.

séjour agréable mais attention à la nuisance

Séjour agréable de 6 nuits à l'hôtel Sun Aqua Passikudah.
Trés jolie chambre, bon équipement, bon wifi.
Problème avec les corbeaux voleurs qui ne cessent de venir crier dans les salles de bains ouvertes et voler de la nourriture lors du petit déjeuner et voler des affaires à la piscine.

water too shallow and rocky for swimming.

Sunaqua is located at the wrong end of Pasikudah beach. The beach in front of the hotel is too shallow and rocky for swimming. you can walk to the public beach to swimming however the public beach is busy during weekend. Other than that, the hotel itself is pretty good. It even provides ladies sanitary items which comes very handy and this shows hotel's attention to detail.

Ottimo albergo di recente costruzione di fronte alla spiaggia di Pasikudah. Personale cortese e disponibile. Cucina di notevole qualità sia per i piatti \"a la carte\"che per quelli del buffet.
Prezzi per le consumazioni extra non economici ma sostanzialmente accettabili in relazione alla \"location\".
Mare di fronte all'Hotel: punto dolente poichè la presenza di residui di corallo, le formazioni di alghe ed il livello solitamente molto basso dell'acqua (almeno nelle ore diurne) rende non facile nè piacevole bagnarsi e, se si desiderano condizioni di mare decisamente migliori, occorre camminare verso ovest per 15-20 minuti oltrepassando il posto di polizia turistica e l'antistante spiaggia \"libera\" ed eventualmente arrivare alla spiaggia dell' Uga Bay.

Hieno ja rauhallinen viiden tähden resort

Lomamme Sun Aquassa oli rentouttava ja nautinnollinen. Hotellissa ei tarvitse kantaa huolta mistään, sillä henkilökunta kyllä tekee kaikkensa vieraiden viihtymisen eteen.

Sun Aqua on hieno ja uusi viiden tähden resort, joka on omiaan rentoutumiseen. Lähistöllä ei ole juuri mitään - esimerkiksi kauppoja ei ole ainuttakaan, vain muutama kioski - ja lähimpään kyläänkin on mentävä tuktukilla. Tämän vuoksi aktiviteetteja on siis käytännössä rentoutuminen, uiminen ja snorklailu, eli vilkasta kaupunkielämää kaipaavan ei kannata tänne suunnata. Negatiivisena puolena tässä on tietysti se, että syöminen on melkeinpä hoidettava hotellilla. Olimme itse matkalla kesäkuun alussa, jolloin ei ollut sesonkiaika ja buffet-ruokailuja ei vielä järjestetty, joten a la carte -lista alkoi käydä jokseenkin pitkästyttäväksi.

Hotellin ranta on todella kaunis ja siellä on mukava loikoilla riippumatossa ja lueskella kirjaa. Uiminen rannalla on vaikeaa rannan mataluuden vuoksi, mutta hotellin uima-allas on huikea.

ビーチフロントはハズレです

隣のug bay に2泊、こちらに2泊しました。ホスピタリティや設備は良いのですが、二回目に行くかと聞かれたら、正直NOです。理由は三つあります。ビーチが目の前ですが、遠浅で、底がサンコの死骸とヌルヌルで泳げません。食事が美味しくありません。お客が少な過ぎて寂れています。何でこの評価か付いているのか疑問です。ハズレのホテルでした。

Nice Hotel at useless beach

Hotel was great and service was very good.
However if you are looking to spend some time on the beach with swimming, this will not be possible (there is a reef which makes the water not deeper then 50cm at all).

However ther is at the other side of the a very nice beach with waves and good to swimm.

Hôtel magnifique. Les chambres sont spacieuses, avec un coin salon et une immense salle de bains à ciel ouvert. Rarement vu une si belle chambre, nous avons été surclassé dans une suite Océan. C'était génial. La piscine est grande et propre. La plage est jolie. Nous n'avons pas trouvé de points négatifs. Tout était parfait.

Toller Aufenthalt in super Hotel

Hotel war sehr sauber und hochwertig. Personal stets freundlich und zuvorkommend. Region ist noch nicht wirklich touristisch erschlossen, daher ausserhalb der Hotels die in der Bucht angesiedelt sind, keine entsprechende Infrastruktur (Lokale, Restaurants). Strand ist schön, Meer jedoch sehr flach (hüfthoch) - ist für Familien mit Kindern aber sicher vorteilhaft. Essen sehr gut, wenn auch bei längerem Aufenthalt die Abwechslung fehlt. Hier kann man aber auch mal auf die anderen Hotels ausweichen.

Tipp für das Hotel: Ein Verleih von Motorrädern wäre sicher vorteilhaft um mehr Abwechslung zu verschaffen.

Très bel hôtel 5 étoiles, mais en rodage...
Des petites choses peuvent encore manquer au niveau de l'équipement de la chambre.

Le personnel est parfois inexistant..
