We stayed in Olive 3, which has a jacuzzi double bath, steam room, sauna and shower! Beautiful! We used the spa which was lovely peaceful and clean. The restaurant staff, service and food is excellent and this is about our 10th visit. We love the place and staff.

We had an amazing time. The hotel is lovely, every piece of decor & furniture is luxurious. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful.
We were booked in for B&B and breakfast was wonderful.
When we arrived Liam checked us in & explained the town was experiencing power cuts & lifts weren’t working. As I have mobility issues they couldn’t give us our intended room instead we were given Room 2 Olive Mews and I can only describe it as heavenly, with it’s own spa.
I booked a massage and it was great too.
We are home now after being pampered & spoiled. I think we have found our new No.1 favourite hotel. Thank you

Fantastic hotel. Very clean and welcoming. Superb staff super breakfast superb location what more can you say. Room was tremendous we really enjoyed ourselves. It was a proper break in wonderful surroundings. I do recommend and will definitely return.

We went as a foursome to celebrate an anniversary. The staff, as always, are friendly and helpful and the service in the restaurant is efficient and cheerful. We had great rooms with a great view of the fells. The spa is wonderful. I had a fantastic afternoon in the gym and pool then relaxed with a book with occasional trips to the outdoor spa. We loved room 114 with a balcony and jacuzzi bath. The food - breakfast and dinner - were wonderful and the staff invariably charming (especially Manuel). The spa was excellent with a decent pool, steam room and sauna and a gym, all of which we used. A brilliant little holiday.

My only issue was with the facilities. We specifically chose this hotel for the outdoor hydropool as we've stayed here before and it was amazing, however when we got there the hydropool was closed. This was very disappointing as we were not told that the some of the facilities were not available, if we had been informed we would have liked to have rescheduled for a different day so we could fully enjoy the time.

Great variety of hot, cooked-to-order breakfasts as well as wide range of continental items, all of which were great quality. We were also offered tea or fresh coffee and fresh juice that was brought to the table, along with toast. Room was comfortable and cosy. We had a balcony room overlooking Ambleside high street. Room was generally clean, just a few attention to details missing such as on the towel radiator. We ate in the restaurant ain’t the evening, enjoyed the food we ordered (main and dessert). We had an Irish coffee in the bar afterwards. Would be nice to have a drinks menu in the bar offering a wider selection/few cocktails as there was only a wine menu. Service was great throughout our stay. We used the pool which was nice, really liked the outdoor spa pool. The steam and sauna were ok but didn’t have very good seals around the door so the didn’t reach the high temperature I’m used to.

Check-in was quick and easy - the lady who checked us in was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Our room was lovely, with a large and comfortable bed, plenty of cushions, and a peaceful, warm atmosphere. There were also tea-making facilities and a fridge, which was a nice touch.
We didn’t get a chance to try the spa or gym facilities this time, but breakfast was excellent - a great variety on offer, quick service, and perfectly cooked scrambled eggs!
The hotel’s central location was ideal for exploring Ambleside, with everything just a short walk away.

Our bedrooms were spacious and clean with many sockets, a hot tub and whirlpool bath, full set of Wainwright’s guides, and the fridge was kept stocked with fresh milk (not the usual UHT rubbish), water, tea, coffee and even biscuits.
The WiFi was excellent, probably the best hotel WiFi I’ve ever used.
I was surprised that such a nice bathroom didn’t have a soft close lid on the wc.
We didn’t have dinner in the hotel because the menu options didn’t appeal, especially with young grandchildren visiting us.
The main car park can get a bit tight, but they’ve got a couple round the corner which have more room.
Most places in the Lake District are easily reachable from Ambleside.
The hotel is better inside than it looks on the outside, if a little quirky - we’d definitely choose it again.

The Location:
Absolutely unbeatable. Nestled right in the heart of Ambleside, the hotel is surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Our room overlooked a gorgeous waterfall, and waking up to the soothing sound of flowing water and a view of the hills was pure magic. It felt like a peaceful, luxurious escape wrapped in nature.

The Room:
Wow – our room was massive! Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and designed for real comfort. It had everything we needed and more. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the little touches made a big difference. Honestly one of the best hotel rooms we’ve stayed in.

The Staff:
Every single member of staff we encountered was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. From check-in to check-out, we were made to feel at home and very well looked after. It’s clear they truly care about their guests.

We had a lovely stay, the hotel couldn’t have been better positioned, we parked the car up when we arrived and didn’t use it until we left.
The staff were all really friendly and helpful and the facilities were very good, the pool was a little cold for me but my girlfriend loved it as she did 60 lengths every morning, I managed to pass the time in the outdoor jacuzzi quite well though lol.

This hotel has a really warm and homely feel to it.
The room and communal area is not modern but in a good state of repair, clean, and welcoming.
Bed/linen clean and comfortable. Bathroom small but clean and perfectly usable.
Our room had a seating area and patio door onto balcony providing a great space to sit and get fresh air.
Nice touch to have a small fridge in room supplied with bottled water each day.
Leisure facilities are well maintained and clean. Small pool but enough for an easy swim. Relaxation area and outdoor hot tub are a lovely addition. Didn’t use the treatment rooms but good range on offer.
Well equipped gym which I didn’t use but it looked more than decent.
Food both at breakfast and evening was absolutely fabulous. Lounge area was cosy and comfortable.
All the staff were pleasant and worked hard to be attentive with all guests.
Free parking which is always a welcome bonus.
All in all a really nice place to stay, I have no hesitation in recommending it and I would definitely return.

Another lovely stay

Lovely hotel with excellent staff. Very clean, quiet to say it is based in a central location. The parking is a challenge but just needs careful driving skills.
The breakfast is plentiful and tasty. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are well lit with plenty of storage. The towels are large and comfortable. There could be a little more by the way of toiletries, no conditioner provided for example but this is a minor niggle. This is our second stay and we would return again.

The real selling points of this hotel are i) the spa facilities which far exceeded our expectations and really were wonderful ii) the extremely convenient location and easy parking. The hotel staff were also lovely and very helpful. Minor point of feedback is that we stayed during summer and the room seemed very hot during the night, despite opening the window as far as possible.
