Superb luxury 1 2 and 4 bedroom private pool villas at beachfront resort - Koh Samui Thailand. Thirty two luxury private pool villas in a tropical coconut grove at fashionable Plai Laem on the desirable north coast of Koh Samui.
Five minutes from Bangrak and Cheong Mon beach and 10 minutes from Fishermans Village(Bophut). Each villa at Samui Boat Lagoon has its own private pool.
The villas are beautifully situated only 50 meters from and with direct private access to sandy beach. Enjoy the spectacular views across the Gulf of Siam to nearby uninhabited islands.
The individually designed villas comprise 1 2 or 4 en-suite bedrooms and have been designed and furnished in contemporary Thai style to provide spacious accommodation comfortable living kitchen dining area outdoor decking with seating and sun loungers. The Villa was absolutely perfect. Clean, pool was terrific, lots of great restaurants and 7-11 close by. Would highly recommend!!

The property is located in the less touristy area of the island which is great if you are looking for somewhere a little bit quieter than the busy beach front. There is a lot a good restaurant around (stop at stops was our fav food + staff were amazing)and scooters or car rental are easy to find.
We had a fantastic week and our villa was perfect for us. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. Aircon worked very well.
We loved the fact that we had total privacy from the other villa. The pools (private + hotel pool) were both warm and clean.

We were a family of 4 staying in a two bed villa. The villa was so spacious, we loved the outdoor living area. Well equipped and pool towela provided. The kids loved our private pool aswell as the big communal pool (we were often the only ones in it). The staff were all friendly and helpful. It was conviently next to a quiet beach which was great for sunset walks. Some nice local thai places to eat within walking distance too. The big buddha is a 20min walk or short taxi ride away.
The only thing I'd highlight is that the two bedrooms are not connected and are essentially seperate builds with the pool inbetween. As we were travelling with small children (under 6), we didn't feel comfortable leaving them in their own room across the pool where we couldnt hear them, and also concerned we wouldn't want them trying to walk to our room in the night and accidently fall in the pool. Instead we just slept 1 adult, 1 child in each room, which was fine but just not what we had anticipated when booking a 2 bedroom villa. I'm sure older children would be fine, but thought it was worth highlighting to other families of small children.

I really enjoyed my stay here! The staff is very friendly, cleaning crew was very thorough and they offered a laundry service(there is a fee). I will definitely be booking this property again

Week of Relaxation
Very pleasant stay. The villa was well equipped and the pool got lots of sunlight during the day to keep it at a nice temperature. There was a great sized pool at Hotel, however, it was not really utilized by guests - there was no guest facilities around the pool (except for lounges) to attract guests. (Could do with a small bar or cafe?) There is a local 7/11 and some good cheap family restaurants near by. The only negatives were that the bed was extremely hard - but that is a personal preference. Lots of Mosquitoes and we had to buy insect spray and coils to try to keep them at bay. Beach at this location is not very good, but you can walk a short distance to get a better stretch of beach. Have to catch a ride share to get anywhere - which costs around 350 to 400 bht each way - even to local upmarket restaurants only 1.2kms away. But you can always walk. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Absolutely amazing place and we definitely will stay again! The only thing is after you check out its hard to get communication if there is an issue such as our uodated travel dates. I still am waiting for communication and action on this puece. Otherwise an absolute heaven to stay at! Beach is close, local culture everywhere the people are so nice and welcoming! We walked the whole beach line one morning at like 6 am! So magical. The private villas w the pools is an absolute win. When we arrived we had transportation from airport early before hours and when we arrived before opening we were taken straight to our villa and it was made up in honeymoon style for us!

Slightly unusual setup that won’t suit everyone: bedrooms are inside and air conditioned, bathrooms are open to the elements (but private etc.) and then the living area is outside (under a fan, next to the plunge pool). Was a nice experience though, and kids were happy to take themselves inside if they needed cooling (good wifi all around). Great mum and dad Thai at the top of the driveway, solid 7/11 100m further away. A less touristy part of the island but given it’s a fairly compact east coast you’re close to everything anyway. FYI we rented a car and were pleased we fid- moped an option too.

Lovely pool villa, but some cleaning issues/maintenance issues need to be addressed. A lot of mould in the bathroom, and limescale on shower glass that wasn’t cleaned even once during our stay. Swimming pool tiles have decent amount of mould and algae. I saw a pool boy cleaning and removing those on the communal pool, but seems that individual villa pool was neglected.
Two bedroom villa has great setup, decent aircon. Aircon was loud, but after I mentioned to the hotel, they addresses the problem immediately. You cannot leave food in rubbish bin, as ants and incects invade quickly. Hotel was quick to respond to this as well, so 5 stars to the staff for reaction. I should have mentioned algae and mould, and I m sure that would have been sorted immediately.

Wonderfully well presented resort with private villas and pools. Very quiet and peaceful but only 10-15 minutes taxi from both Chaweng and Fishermans Village. Staff are great and communication is always timely and helpful. Will be back.

Amazing outdoor shower, pool was excellent. The layout and design was great and we really felt we would come back with how enjoyable and comfortable the stay was. One of the best stays we had in Thailand.

A really wonderful small resort containing private pool villas. The villas are well laid out and give great privacy. The private pools are a blessing, but the resort also has a large shared pool if you want to do longer lengths. What makes it such a good place though is the wonderful staff and management who are so helpful. Excellent, will be back (again!).

Situated in the North of the island was lovely and quiet yet with some good food and activities close by. The beach by the hotel wasn’t remarkable - although great for watching the sunsets, but there was a free shuttle to a good beach nearby.
The staff were all really friendly and the reception staff very helpful.

We loved this hotel! This was the first stop on our honeymoon trip and the Samui Boat Lagoon set high expectations for the remainder of the trip. We booked a one-bedroom villa with a private pool, which was very romantic. We enjoyed using the pool at night to unwind. The property is beautiful and the staff is helpful. They were able to arrange taxis for us when we needed it, but also provided free pickup and drop off at the airport, which was a great perk. Additionally, the hotel is close to a 7 Eleven (where we stopped often to get water/snacks/beer), a Thai restaurant, a motorcycle rental shop and even a place to do laundry for $3 a kg. It is located farther away from the touristy Chaweng Beach, but we liked that about it, since that area is really congested and loud.

What a hotel. This hotel is worth every penny. The room has everything you could ever want. Outdoor lounging and pool truly is something special. Hotel is even nice enough to order food for you from the restaurant next door to have it delivered. Prices were also extremely reasonable and the food was great. They also have a motorbike rental service they recommend directly through the hotel that will deliver a bike directly to the hotel for you. Very convenient. Overall the stay was great.

I had good family time in Samui Boat Lagoon. It was a relaxing home retreat. The only insufficient thing is that it is away from restaurants and shops.

Loved the villa although it is very out of the way. The only thing that let this place down is a rude member of staff who works on reception she would always try and earn commission off our taxi fare (which she always did, she actually fell out with another member of staff over it as he would do it for 100 baht less as we’re here for such a long time he said it’s not fair on us). But then he explained that she’s not happy about it and they’re talking about us so we can only have it cheaper when we’re not there. She obviously just didn’t like us, you could feel it when you were in her presence and she tried charging us money for washing that we never had done and just the way she TELLS you that we had it done all angry isn’t very nice. If it wasn’t for her I would have loved this place, I think they really need to get rid of her for this to be the amazing place that it is.

The only \"luxurious\" thing about this place is the self-rating they gave themselves in their slogan.
It looks absolutely nothing like the photos, which I assume were taken about 15 years ago. the furniture was old and decayed, the bed linen was grimy and stained, the shelves and towel hooks were literally falling off the walls, the bathroom sink and tap were rusty, the air conditioning had only two settings: freezing cold and hot as hell there was no in-between.
The staff were completely useless. We arrived to our overbooked hotel and were given an \"upgrade\" which consisted of a two-bedroom instead of one with the catch that the second room was locked and we couldn't access it. Our bathroom had no hot-water and it took about a whole day and 5 of them to fix, no apologies and couldn't even move us to another room. They finally agreed to it after much complaining and to make the most out of the experience we purchased an oil burner which the cleaning staff broke and took away from the room, no warning. when we came back from a day out we noticed the oil burner was missing and we were told it was broken and they threw it away. Everything was in mint condition when we left the room, so upon return we complained to reception and they started an argument with us instead of apologising and told us we needed to wait until the next day? why? we will never know.
Overall - a highly unpleasant experience that almost ruined our holiday. Completely overpriced - AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Our third stay at Samui Boat Lagoon and continues to be a wonderful quiet hideaway. Private units, great splash pool and outdoor kitchen living area, with huge bathroom and garden shower. While no restaurant facilities on site plenty of close local options and in room delivery if desired. Huge 25 metre pool near reception great for laps or lazing in or around..

When we called the hotel the day before to book the airport shuttle, the staff were very quick, easy to understand and reliable. We caught the shuttle with ease from the airport and were checked in immediately.
The villa we were assigned with had its own out door dining area with a private pool behind it a king sized bed and out door shower. Clean and private in the sense that we weren't able to hear people in the rooms next to us arriving and leaving as if we were in a hotel.
The hotel itself is about 600 metres from 7-11 which is where we got most of our snacks. The street that the hotel comes off has about 5 places to rent a motorbike or scooter from for as little as 150 baht per day ($6.00 AUD) which is what we decided to do. The mall (which is where we did most of our eating and shopping) was approximately 15 - 20 minutes away by scooter, approximately 15 kms away.
At the front of the hotel is a restaurant called Thai Garden which had amazing and very inexpensive Thai dishes as well as western food however we definitely preferred the Thai food, our sneaky tip is to order the chocolate pancake for dessert with the coconut ice-cream! You won't be sorry.
Over-all we had a great experience here, much unlike the hustle and bustle of Phuket it was a nice alternative get away for us.

We couldn't have chosen a better hotel; the private villa was fantastic and luxurious with heaps of space, everything clean and neat, free transport to the beach in Chaweng, 100m down to the beach by the hotel, 500m walk to shops, some restaurants close by and then more about 1km. We chose this place because we didn't want to be hassled every time we walked outside like in the more touristy places, and it was perfect. 1.7km walk to big budda and shopping. Would love to stay there again!

Lovely villas, showers and bathroom requires some upgrade as does the kitchen facilities but this didnt stop us from really enjoying the hospitality of the resort.Excellent value for money.

Lovely hotel and staff just not in the best spot. Putting this into perspective thou. If you wanted this standard of hotel in Chaweng or Choeng Mon you will pay double. SBG has a lovely decent quality Thai restaurant right out the front that serves local and western food run buy the nicest people. Didn't try the Pizza place over the road. seemed funny going all this way to eat pizza. Hotel looks after to you with free airport shuttle and for a small fee, if they can, they will run you around like a taxi. Front desk booked all our trips and did a wonderful job.. At this time of year there is no beach to swim at SBL. Have to travel to one of the other beaches for that but its not hard to do... Only real negative to the suite was the bed is as hard as a rock but the hotel did provide a free mattress topper to improve this slightly.. All in all for oor very first Thai trip we came away happy..

Worst feeling in samui
The female reception staff was too lazy to provide information even when we asked for. The living room was outdoor and it was really messy when it was rainning. The private swimming pool was quite good even though relatively smaller then other resort. The air conditioner keep discharge hot gas to shower room which is not good. The shuttle bus only go to sala resort car park but not other famous beach or shopping center are also not good enough. Luckly it still provide the shuttle bus to airport and allow us to have a late check out to fit for the flight schedule which make it still rate a little bit higher than average.

A honeymooners retreat
We stayed here for the first 4 nights of our honeymoon & were incredibly impressed by the villa - an absolute spot for relaxation & tranquility. Service was great & although the location is a little outside of more tourist-type areas, the locals and hotel staff were very friendly & helpful, bending over bacwards to accomodate & assist. Although no on-site restaurant, room service allows for food from local reastaurants to be delivered to the villas. We also booked in for a tradition thai massage to our villa which was so relaxing & great value for money. Pool was so clean & great for a dip at any time of day or night. Outdoor living area with the kitchen facilities was a lovely place to chill. A real gem of a hotel all in all!
We hired a scooter to see more of the island from the store just outside the hotel gates. I really recommend this. It was our first time driving one but take it slow & you will be fine! Also, Thai Garden restaurant located outside the hotel is a great place for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a tasty cocktail before heading out anywhere. Great food & staff!

Great pool villas and friendly and helpful staff
Stayed here for the 2nd time and love the privacy of the pool villas with their great plunge pool, alfresco living and dining area and huge well laid out bathroom. The main 25m pool outside reception is great for doing laps or floating around in. Staff so helpful with arranging activities, and pick up and drop off at airport makes it easy to get there and away. A twice daily transfer service to Choeng Mon beach was just right, and we enjoyed the food at the local Thai Garden restaurant just outside the facility. Taxis to Chaweng, Fisherman's Village and other sites are readily available, and there is parking space for a car if you choose to hire as we did for some days. If you prefer top class accommodation in a quiet location Samui Boar Lagoon is perfect, and easy to get to other areas as and when you want.

They kept us up to date with timings for when the room would be ready. When it became available, they looked after the bags. Gave us a run down of the facilities in the room (which had been decorated for our honeymoon). Our own plunge pool. Complimentary fruit and bottled water. Directions to nearest groceries.
Fishing pier just down the path - lovely at sunset. They will drop off and pick up from the local beach for free. Some of the more distant beaches, and shopping centres incur a charge but it's only about $15 for round trip. No restaurant on site but we used the Melati resort 50m down the road.

We had a beautiful stay here. The room and bathroom amazing, huge! Private pool and outdoor lounge, kitchen great! Full size fridge and microwave. Just perfect. Onoy one thing I would mention is there are no phones in the rooms to contact reception but that's it. Will Defo go back again.

Samui Boat Lagoon....we will be back!
While Samui Boat Lagoon is in a quiet local area, it's a superb facility. Very clean, modern and with staff who are so helpful, we had a great holiday and will return again. The two bedroom villa had a great plunge pool that was a good size, and use many times a day. The privacy of being in a totally enclosed villa area is just brilliant. The extra large main pool in the reception courtyard is superb and great for an early morning swim. Later in the day a lack of shade is the only downside. With small local restaurants at the entrance and 200 metres along the beach had simple tasty local food, cheap and with basic cocktails and Singahs! The pool table at the \"Silver Bullet\" near the entrance was well used. A 10 minute walk to the nearest main road gets you to Family Marts and more local restaurants, and there are plenty of local street food options. The street food setup just past the Chemist shop was clean, cheap and had great food and a friendly lady. It was our tasty breakfast source each day. Highly recommend.

Die Unterkunft ist massiv in die Jahren gekommen. Wir haben uns vom Preis und dem Pool täuschen lassen. Für 4 Nächte haben wir ca. 600€ gezahlt. Angemessen wären aus meiner Sicht 200-250€. Sobald man Duscht, die Toilette oder den Wasserhahn nutzt geht die Wasserpumpe an und damit geht ein störendes Geräusch einher. Selbst wenn man selbst kein Wasser nutzt, hört man das Geräusch, da die Umliegenden Zimmer mit dem selben System ausgestattet sind. Sehr störend, vorallem Nachts. Sehr viele Mücken. Die Klimaanlage ist sehr laut und kühlt mäßig. Das Zimmer war nicht sauber bzw grenzwärtig. Wir hatten einen abgestandenen Geruch im Zimmer. Welchen wir Mühsam mit massiven Lüften und Duftspray einigermaßen wegbekommen haben. Die Regendusche, die Duschbrause und das Dusch-WC waren defekt und eingeschränkt nutzbar. Praktisch war die ausgestattete Küche. Den öffentlichen Beach haben wir nicht genutzt. Ich rate von einer Buchung ab, besser auf einen Pool verzichten und ein anderes Hotel buchen.

Hatten eine Poolvilla. Pool war ok, ausreichend groß. Die Außenmöbilierung war ok, allerdings hätten wir uns Auflagen für die Liegen gewünscht, die ohne sehr unbequem waren. Die Möblierung in der Villa in die Jahre gekommen und sehr spartanisch, keine Ablagemöglichkeiten.
Auch die Badausstattung in die Jahre gekommen, machte keinen gepflegten Eindruck, Sauberkeit zufriedenstellend.
Betten hatten guten Schlafkomfort.
Unserer Meinung nach hätte die Unterkunft keine 4 Sterne verdient.
