The front staff was not helpful and was very disrespectful. The restaurant was not available nor was the pool. I called to get towels and wash clothes for the room because it was none present.. I never received any. I was just completely through with this hotel .

The rooms were small but adequate. The bathroom door did not close and hair dryers are not automatic in room, must go to desk for one. The check in was a nightmare, we were just there for a weekend and left our passports under lock at our condo - only to be denied check in. No where was it given that it would be required. We found a work around with our condo manager, but the hotel was far from helpful with options. Eventually they did say would pay extra tax ... should have lead with that option! The kitchen staff at the restaurant and breakfast were fantastic. Breakfast was a bit regional but no one went hungry.

El hotel está aceptable para el bolsillo. La habitaciones carecen de salida de baños, snack, agua y bebidas que se pueda comprar. También necesitan tabla y plancha de planchar, ya que solo hay una sola y es para el uso de todo el hotel. También se necesita poner que sean más grande como el jabón, conditioner y shampoo ya que estuve una semana y al siguiente día ya lo había gastado por lo pequeño que eran. También creo que necesitan mejorar variedad de desayuno ya que era muy muy limitado. El esta staff es muy amable y siempre están a la dispossession de ayudar. El hotel está en una área muy buena, segura y tiene tiendas, restaurante, bares y playa al rededor.

Everything was great about this hotel, the area was safe and 24 hour stores across the street, and beach was about a 3 min walk. Restaurant had great breakfast and good options for lunch and dinner. Staff was very friendly. Only negative I could think of is the design of the pool area. It is small with only 3 sun loungers. I checked in at 3pm and went straight to the pool. The sun was blocked by all of the high walls. But I took a walk to the beach so for me it was fine.

The suite was nice size and clean. Room had a tiny window and a poor view out of it. Staff is polite but not helpful at all. Asked to wake me up - they called for 15 seconds and stopped. I didn’t even have time to pick up the phone. If I wasn’t awake already - it would never wake me. Asked to clean some clothes for me - it took a few days and a lot of follow up on my part to get my clothes clean. When I asked for help with my room reservation - I just received an excuse about policy. At that point I gave up trying to communicate with the front desk - it is not worth the effort to ask them anything and easier to get things done somewhere else.

This is the perfect hotel if you just want to chill with minimal noise. It’s a short drive from the clock tower and it is near Getsemani/Centro. It is very easy to grab a taxi, and there is also a souvenir outlet nearby. Not to mention the abundant amount of restaurants walking distance. The only downsides are the room ventilation is poor. The room/bathroom can get very humid, so the ac has to be on constantly.

The staff and faciiities were very good. More of a three star than four star hotel. The food quality at breakfast (included) was mediocre at best. They would be much better off offering a buffet versus the cook to order eight options offered. Definitely needs improvement, though the fresh fruit was a nice touch. A note about the shower: For hot water, you have to turn the handle to the RIGHT and let it run for about five minutes. They should either reverse the direction as most are used to hot water being turned to the left or put a sign above the handle to indicate the proper direction for hot along with the wait time.

Hotel was fine. The service was fine. I had a second stay booked for later this week, but cancelled after I was given a hard time about bringing my son and his wife to the pool after a day on the beach. The way I was spoken too was NOT ACCEPTABLE. I will NEVER stay here again. If you’re ok with not being treated like a homeless person off the steer, then go ahead and stay here. Otherwise, find a friendlier place to stay. There are MANY others to chose from. I want to send a special thank you to Lady, who treated my son in an extremely rude way. I hope you get fired!

Will definitely stay here again when I'm back in Cartagena. The staff was great, especially Luis. The rooms are pretty modern and pretty big. The hotel itself wasn't so big to where there would be so many people and it was pretty quiet. Location was close to everything-- restaurants, grocery stores, the beach (a block away) and especially a swap meet that had the best prices.

This is at the safe area of Cartagena. Everything is within reached walking. I suggest the hotel will provide face cloth, flat iron/ironing board. The staff was very attentive to us. I picked this hotel specifically because it was super close to the beach, we basically had the whole pool to ourselves most of the time and we walked everyday to and from the hotel for shopping or eating. What I believe they should have is iron and hair dryer in the rooms. However i sent for some clothes to get washed and they were delivered cleaned the next day! I will definitely come back and stay here instead of a resort. Thank you Barlovento!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast provided lots of choices and was served in a very amiable manner. Room was a tad small, though completely usable. The bathroom was aesthetically \"beautiful\" in a boutique hotel way but didn't provide enough hooks for towels and clothes. Hotel is in Bocagrande, about 45 minutes by foot from the historical centre. We took taxis, which weren't expensive: about 10,000-12,000 COP per trip.

I wish this could have been a better stay…

The staff is friendly and they speak both English and Spanish. The food for breakfast and lunch is good. The hotel is updated, modern, and close to the beach and a lot of restaurants. On my last night a member of the hotel staff tried to come into my room. My phone had been disconnected so I couldn’t dial downstairs or anywhere in the hotel. (I was attempting to call them to see if they had sent a staff member up before jumping to conclusions) I was on the phone with my mom who tried to call the hotel to speak with a manager but the person that answered said they didn’t speak English and no one that spoke English would be available until the morning. My mom then contacted hotels.com and hotels.com had to call the front desk. They claimed it was a drunk guest however I looked out of the peep hole and saw two hotel employees. I was nervous the entire night. Then upon checking out they presented me with a bill for cappuccinos that I had already paid for in cash. They asked several staff members to confirm and the staff members said I told them to charge it to my room. I ended up showing them the receipt to prove I had already paid. Had the last night and checkout incidents not happened I would given this hotel and my stay a glowing review. I’m reviewing this for other female travelers to have a reference. Be careful!

I loved my stay here! The staff are absolutely incredible. Grace at reception was very welcoming, Luis showed me to my room and was always warm and friendly, and Soledad always brightened up my mornings with her beautiful smile at breakfast. My room was sparkling clean, with a comfortable bed, a mini-fridge, and a shower that had great pressure. The pool area is wonderful and a great way to relax after a day of sightseeing. I was surprised by the quality of the breakfast, for which there was a menu of options, as well as several fresh fruits and juices on offer each morning, and quite decent coffee. The location was perfect, with easy access to restaurants and supermarkets, as well as public transportation and taxis. My only complaint was the lack of a hairdryer in the room. Apparently they have some available, but not when I arrived. Overall, the best hotel of the three I stayed in during my time in Colombia. I would absolutely stay here again when in Cartagena, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay.
