What are charming hotel and great location. We loved the welcome by the staff who were excellent and who looked after us and remembered us all throughout our state and also you have to love all the furniture and antiques placed all around the hotel. The parking at the hotel is very handy. The breakfast in the Mozart room was very nice

Historic hotel, very good customer service and nice breakfast but the rooms that families are given are very poor, small windows, smelling of damp and a bit more like a hotel in a developing country. The other rooms we passed are like those in the photos so think these were kept for non families.

The location is really great for first time travellers, dining around the area is nice, walkable to all major tourist spots, beskfast is great too.

Only comment is water from the shower leaks out to the floor...a little improvement to the caulking too..

Staff was welcoming and we were able to check in prior to 3 pm. Our room didn't have a window and was small, but it did have an AC unit. Breakfast buffet had a range of options. Location, budget price and the Mozart connection were the prime attractions of this hotel as it's about a 10 minute walk to Piazza Castello and five minutes from several outdoor restaurants that were bustling.

Historically unique. Mozart at 15 Yrs.played in the main dining room where a fantastic breakfast is served. The decor of the dining room is an outstanding art work. The rooms are ample compared with modern European hotels. The location for the opera, palace, Egyptian museum and Shroud is perfect. Great restaurants all around.if you want history the again is your best choice

Interesting experience

The claim to fame of this hotel is based on the fact that 15-year old Mozart stayed there for 2 weeks with his father in 1771.

Nothing changed much there since (except for plumbing, of course). 3 rooms on each floor facing the street were obviously intended for the important guests and still are furnished accordingly, while other rooms facing inner yard were for the servants, coachmen, maids etc.

Hotel serves only standard breakfast in the magnificent ballroom under subdued soundtrack of, or course, Mozart, but there are unlimited number of very good restaurants within 5 min walking distance, including 3 in the same block as the hotel.

Location is also very good - 10 min walk to Piazza Castello, the tourist center of Turin, and 20 min walk (or 10 min on a tram 4 or 11) from the train station. Hotel also has a small parking, but reserve it asap)

One strange thing was that under pretext of Italian Law we weren't allowed to bring glass glasses from the breakfast room to our room (I plead the 5th amendment for the rest...)

The location is great: right in the centre of Torino but very easy to access by car. I got hotel parking for 20 euro per night. Not cheap but very convenient.
The hotel would have a lot of potential as it’s a beautiful historic building. Unfortunately they don’t really make the best out of it: breakfast (in a superb room) is very sad…. Bad coffee, bad croissants…. Bad juices, no real continental options…..
our room was very basic but a good mattress, decent bathroom. Wifi not working in the room.
Ok for a couple of days , with little effort it could be a real gem

.The location is good. Besides, I would move to another hotel in the area. The room is small and cramped. The people are not really nice except ANDRE at the reception.
The whole area is under renovation. Everything is noisy. It is not indicated on the website that the place is very inaccessible by car and is in the ZTL area

Little surprising gem in Turin

I stayed at the Dogana for Eurovision, great price considering that. I was pleasantly very surprised it was a historical hotel, Mozart stayed there. More impressed was how big the room was. Inside was quiet, I was greeted very happily, they even managed remember me many times when I would pass lobby. Lots restaurants, scooters, public transportation in immediate surroundings. I would highly recommend it. Very walkabale to all the sites, and even bus station if you decide walk it.

Historic proerty. Great location. Good value.

A classical and typical historic property that was as advertised. I enjoyed my 2 night stay at this hotel. Excellent room service and cleanliness. It was a delight to have a full set of fluffy white towels including full size bath sheets. Great location and convenient transfer at 50m from Star 2 bus stop (from/to Porta Sousa stazione). Didn't see Herr Mozart but apparently he also stayed at this hotel for several weeks. Good value for money.

The staff (negatively) shocked! On request of a corkscrew, they proposed me to go out with my bottle of wine and try to ask in cafes on the street, maybe someone will open a bottle for me. This is a clear description what a helpful and caring staff works this hotel. The rest is ok. Oh, and Mozart lived and played there on his trip to Italy

Nice Hotel placed in the center of Torino.

we stay at the Hotel for 2 nights. As the Hotel ist in the Center of Torino you can reach all the tourist attractions by walk or by bus/tram. Unfortunately the internet connection at the Hotel doesn't worked...
We visited Museums and the Center of the City of Torino. We apreciate the warm weather and the caffès where you can drink the italian Espresso, hot chocolate and fine Food.

Had expected better given the reviews. Beautiful building inside (old, but that was expected given its history), large bedroom and good wifi, that's where the positive ends. Some staff members were very nice, others odd or rude. Two sets of doors needed to be pulled to get in. Man at reception saw us, said hello and just watched us struggle to make our way in with our two big suitcases, pulling doors and trying to hold them open for each other while rolling in the luggage. Thanks for the help! Only one word came coming to me once we were inside: dull. Noisy hallways, dull bedroom with paint falling off, leaking toilet and shower, hair on the floor (not ours), depressing decor, dark hotel with clear lack of lighting, very unexciting breakfast, being ordered to sit at a specific table (had to move to a table that was exactly the same size, why? - saw two other people being told off and moved also). Breakfast time was depressing, beautiful room but dark, complete silence and could feel most guests were uncomfortable. Did not feel welcome. Hotel prides itself of having had Mozart as a guest and his portrait is everywhere, so why not play his music in the background in the breakfast room? It was so dull I could not wait to leave, it started to make me feel depressed. Breakfast food uninviting, bunch of industrial cakes and pastries, etc. Seemed like there was no option to have lunch or dinner, had a look at the dining room at 12h15 then at 19h, all lights off.

We had a basic room which was a little small and lacked a bedside table on one side of the bed, a small shelf would have been useful. However the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location of the hotel was a big plus as it was close to the museums and Teatro Regio and the choice of food at breakfast was good. The reception and breakfast staff were very friendly. All in all a reasonably-priced hotel in the centre of Turin and we would stay there again.

Basic hotel that trades on location

On arrival we were surprised at how basic the standard room was, and paid extra to be upgraded. The new room was fine. Spending a few euros on improving the furniture in the standard rooms would make a big difference. The best thing about this hotel is the location, being very central. The staff were very helpful, which made a big difference to our opinion of the hotel. One good thing about the hotel is the parking. They have space for approx 25 cars apparently. This wasn't clear on the website and we were worried they only had a few spaces. While I'd consider staying here again, I'm not in any rush to do so.

Location of hotel is quite good, very close to the city centre, walking distance to the Royal Palace and other attractions. The reception is quite friendly and informative, English is reasonably fluent and ready to recommend the nearest restaurant ( though not quite as good as we expected). The room is pleasant enough , decor is dated ( expected for this type of hotel) but clean . The bathroom is not very comfortable with shower water tends to splash about too much , this is to do with the showers screen. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel for its location and staff friendliness.

La tarification du parking est de 20 € par nuit elle n'est pas indiquée sur le site.
Personnel peu accueillant à l'arrivée, peu complaisant, à l'exception de celui qui nous a indiqué le stationnement et qui nous a très bien renseigné sur le voisinage.
Il a fallu attendre deux jours pour changer le siège des toilettes qui était démonté et de graisser la poignée de porte de jonction entre la chambre et la salle de bain.

Scelgo l'Antica Dogana come albergo a Torino da almeno una trentina di anni, quando ancora si chiamava \"Vecchia Dogana\". Mi piace la sua atmosfera e il suo sapore e profumo di antico che nulla tolgono alla confortevolezza della struttura.

E’ un gioiello antico che merita di essere curato ed accudito. La grande professionalità del personale compensa in parte le carenze della struttura che avrebbe bisogno di una gestione più attenta. Verificare bene all’accettazione la qualità delle camere: c’è un enorme differenza tra quelle “molto vecchie” e quelle con bagni ristrutturatI. Poco invece si può fare con gli infissi: sono antichi e quindi bellissimi da vedere, ma purtroppo alcuni sono anche vecchi e poco manutentati. Tutto è però compensato dall’eccellente posizione.

El hotel es muy antiguo y conserva mucho de su encanto. Pero también hay cosas que tendrían que arreglar. La mampara de la ducha perdía agua por varios puntos, inundando todo el baño. Las camas eran bastante incómodas, necesitan mejores colchones. El radiador se apagó relativamente temprano (20:00 o 20:30) y ya no se encendió más. Se oye todo lo del pasillo (las puertas son dos tablones de madera que no sellan nada). El suelo cruge muchísimo. Como puntos positivos, la ubicación es inmejorable, el desayuno es muy variado, el personal muy atento, amable y profesional. Las zonas comunes, especialmente las escaleras y el comedor, te transportan siglos al pasado (para bien).

Rent på rummet och väldig trevlig personal! Men riktigt gammalt på rummet, obekväma gamla sängar och täcken väldigt gamla. Behöver uppfräschning. God frukost och väldigt bra läge!

This is a hotel that keeps the charm of old Turin intact. Rooms are clean and, although my single was little lacking in space, have any comfort.
The breakfast, served in an amazing ancient and spacious room, is copious and excellent.
But, what makes this hotel special and worth of a stay is not the hotel itself but rather its staff. They are extremely kind and make you feel like having being a guest since forever. I really enjoyed it. Thank you to make my stay so enjoyable!!!

Buona posizione - ben tenuto e pulito

L'albergo è in buona posizione centrale.
Edificio storico, ma ben tenuto e pulito.
Camera abbastanza ampia.
Purtroppo, già il mattino presto il rumore dei veicoli in transito si sente molto (forse le camere con affaccio interno sono più tranquille).
Buona colazione.
Personale cortese e disponibile.
