Below our expectations
This is not a resort. There is a former soldiers barracks that has been made into rooms. The rooms where not particularily nice, bathroom basic but clean. Service was slow and confusing, but they tried their best. Maybe if youre particularily interested in military historie you will like it, but if was nothing for us.

A very special setting
Beautiful setting with comfortable rooms, great views, an excellent breakfast and friendly service. While it's a great setting to have dinner in the fortress, unfortunately the food is not up to scratch. A better option would be to have a pizza in the nearby cafe, but that said this is a great place to stay and visit.

Brilliant location good hotel
A brilliant location and magnificent view across the fjord from the window. Breakfast was great. I would recommend the island as a place to visit. The hotel was overpriced for the amenities. It was a good three star hotel but called itself a resort, it needs to improve its systems. Eg we got 1 towel instead of 2, there was only coffee no tea, no ac and the fan provided was too noisy, the staff were good they fixed all the minor complaints quickly and happily but at the price their systems should have already dealt with them.

Vi måtte finne ut av det selv eller spørre direkte , men da var de hyggelige !! Det er bare litt rart at de ikke fortalte oss litt mer !!

Allt var bra förutom att det var så extremt varmt på rummet, som verkade sakna ventilation. Vi hade en golvfläkt men det hjälper föga när man är 5 pers i ett rum.

Vi hadde en flott tur til Oscarsborg i sommervarmen. Jeg anbefaler omvisningen og museet. Det er fantastisk å vandre rundt på øyen med skjønne planter og historiske plasser. Dessverre var rommet svært varmt og støvete. Vi var to personer på et stort familierom, men uten kjølemuligheter ble det vanskelig å sove godt. Badet var greit, men manglet håndkleholdere. Frokosten var rikholdig og meget velsmakende. Dessverre meget varmt i spisesalen og på terrassen uten persienner, eller parasoller. De ansatte var hyggelige, men virket overarbeidet. Bra sted for historisk interesserte, men lite komfort.

Alldeles för varmt på rummet, fanns bara en fläkt men inget annat sätt att ställa in temperaturen och vädringsfönstret hjälpte inte så mycket. I övrigt god frukost, trevlig personal och vackra omgivningar. Museet höll tyvärr inte sina öppettider men det kan ju inte hotellet lastas för.

Plassen og hotellet var helt ok. Rommet var helt vanvittig varmt hele døgnet. Renholdet på rommet var ikke bra. Litt rart at vi måtte betale for båten inn og ut til øya. 3 voksne og 1 barn kostet 430,- tur/retur. Frokosten var god, og betjeningen var hyggelig.

Fint område og spennende for ungene å se festningen og omgivelsene. Veldig bra frokost og generelt god service i resepsjonen.
Men rommet var ikke ordentlig rengjort og viften der var full av støv, så vi kunne ikke bruke den, da alt i rommet ble støvlagt. Veldig uheldig på en svært varm sommerdag/natt.
Også veldig lytt på badet via ventileringen. Vi overhørte en britisk familie som hadde en lang krangel på et av naborommene.
Men rommet var ikke ordentlig rengjort og viften der var full av støv, så vi kunne ikke bruke den, da alt i rommet ble støvlagt. Veldig uheldig på en svært varm sommerdag/natt.
Også veldig lytt på badet via ventileringen. Vi overhørte en britisk familie som hadde en lang krangel på et av naborommene.

Hadde et supert opphold hos oscarsborg men rengoldet var lik 0. Vi hadde hengt på døra sånn vi vil gjerne ha rommet rengjort skilt da vi dro bort fredagen men ingen hadde vært dær med nye håndklær og ei heller vasket rommet. Dopapiret gikk tomt fredagskvelden så dette måtte vi si fra om selvsagt. Men frokost helt ubeskrivelig god og middag likeså. Og rolig og fin plass. Hærlig personale.

Var sol rett på vinduet, og alt for varmt også var det spiler som hindret luft å komme inn vinduet. Egnet seg ikke på varme sommer dager. Renhold, lå en gammel appelsin under senga men ellers helt greit.

Helt ok rom. Manglet hånkle til alle, men det var det ikke problem å få. Tv-en virket ikke, men det ble vi informert om ved ankomst. Ble ikke noe stort problem for oss. God frokost, men et lite minus var nok at de var noe trege med å fylle på der det var tomt. Ongene koste seg og utforsket øya med stor iver. Så de ønsker nok en tur til ved senere anledning. Barnevogn og rullestolvennlig stort sett over alt ute. Så da kunne jeg og bli med. Men jeg så fordelen med el-stol/scooter, da det er noen bratte bakker. Matsal er i 2 etg uten heis. Bygninger med rom er og uten heis. Så om du ikke kan gå trapper. Hør om å få rom på bakkeplan. En ansatt tibøy å geleide meg gjennom bakveien til frokost.

Det er enkle, men helt greie rom. Litt små for store kofferter, og lite med sitteplass utenom sengene. Men rent. Vi ønsket rom uten havutsikt, for å slippe at sola stekte på vinduene om kvelden.( Det var små vifter i rommene med havutsikt. )

Slitt men ok rom. Store rom for familier på 4. Frokosten så som så. Kom du sent var det tomt for brød, eggerøre og bestikk. Måtte spørre betjeningen. Kun ost og skinke som pålegg, men hadde bra utvalg i forskjellige salater og kornsorter. Ellers et veldig greit å fint område å gå å se på. Anbefaler guidet tur for de som er interessert i historie

Selve øya er flott - men skal man ha hotell der ute som gjester betaler for å bo komfortabelt, så bør hotellet legge mer penger i alt som har med overnatting/mat og gjøre. Vi hadde familierom der det var ekstremt varmt, samt ingen mulighet for å åpne vinduet mer enn bittelitt. Det var veldig harde senger og lite komfort. Frokosten var helt ok, men lite utvalg og lite mat på fatene. Vi hadde booket to døgn, men valgte å reise videre etter et døgn. Tv på rommet fungerte ikke og shufflebordet i resepsjonen var elendig. Historiedelen og øya var som sagt upåklagelig - men hotellet kan man droppe… det minner om et skole opphold dessverre.

Hotellrommet var meget bra. Rent, gode senger.Flott utsikt. Hyggelig resepsjonister. Det som trekker ned er dårlig service under middag. Gode blåskjell. Vi ba om tørr hvitvin. Det fikk vi ikke. Kom til frokost kl 0910. Lite mat igjen . Ikke melk, brød, egg, bacon. Ikke ryddet av ledige bord. Ryddet selv. Søl på gulvet. Så lite til personalet

Kjempeflott opphold, men hadde for liten tid til å utforske alt på øya.
Var der sammen med min sønn på 12 år som er over middels interessert i 2 verdenskrig.
Han var kjempefornøyd og ville helst tilbake så fort som mulig. Fikk sett litt av museet, men ikke nok.
Vi ankom kl 20 en lørdag kveld, da var det ikke mat å oppdrive på hotellet og kjøkkenet var stengt på Havnekroen. Men, vi fikk noen crossainter og et par muffins, så vi la oss ikke sultne.
Frokosten på hotellet var bra, ikke noe som manglet. Eneste var at melka gjerne kunne vært kaldere..
Rommene var bra, at det hang militær uniform og hjelm på rommet, samt at det var en dobbel militær køyeseng med navn på tidligere soldater malt på veggen, gjorde det litt ekstra spennende for Junior.
Et stort minus var det allikevel, og det var mangelen på air condition anlegg med tanke på at det var tropenatt den helgen. 17-18 juni 2023.
Men vi kommer garantert tilbake og da skal vi beregne mer tid på Oscarsborg!! :)

Stedet, rommene og fasilitetene var meget bra. Servicen var til tider dårlig da det var få norskspråklige og flere nye ansatte i resepsjonen. de måtte hele tiden ringe til en \"høyere opp\" for å avklare ting. Det at restauranten og baren var stengt lørdag kveld var også dårlig service. Men hun i resepsjonen lørdag kveld var veldig serviceminded mht glass, isbiter mv.

Rom og fasiliteter for øvrig var veldig bra. Restaurant holdt ikke mål; avtalt tre rettes meny var forandret uten varsel til noe helt annet. For lite mat til hovedrett, måtte be om ekstra poteter. Det var veldig vanskelig å få avtale meny på forhånd, etter endel masing ble den klar. Vi skulle feire en 70- årsdag. Da vi satt oss til bordet, viste det seg altså at vi fikk noe helt annet. Det vi fikk smakte godt, men det var altfor lite mat.

Flott vær i fine omgivelser. Men selve hotell-opplevelsen ble litt skuffende. Det var en del feil i forhold til vår bestilling, enda vi hadde avklart via e-post i forkant. Badet var ikke bra da vi kom, for det var en del hår og møkk der. Ellers fint rom og flott utsikt. Frokosten var god, men det var dårlig med påfylling. En del ting var det tomt for da det var en times tid igjen av frokosten - uten at det ble fyllt opp. Ellers savnet vi smil og \"god stemning\", sånn det ofte er på andre hotell.

Det lå søppel på rommet, den ene koppen var skitten, badet var ikke helt rent, ikke ventilasjon/dårlige luftemuligheter (det gikk an å åpne et vindu som for det første ikke var spesielt gunstig med tanke på pollenallergi og for det andre mistet effekten da vi tok igjen gardinen), frokosten var heller ikke veldig imponerende med tanke på antall stjerner hotellet har.

Familjesemestester och hade ett rum för 2 vuxna och 2 barn. Barnen fick en mycket gnällig/gnisslade våningssäng som väckte oss under natten när barnen vände sig.
Fantastisk utsikt från rummet (se bild) och fint läge. Obs! Man måste åka båt (5 min) för att ta sig hit, bilen lämnas på fastlandet. Det är en brant backe upp till hotellet.

Var på reise og fikk derfor ikke mail om at at middag på hotellet skulle vært bestilt 3 dager i forkant.Etter endel om og men fikk vi anledning å bestille mat men ikke den tre retters menyen vi hadde sett frem til. Maten var god nok og betjeningen hyggelig, men hadde vi visst at det var en kafe på øye kunne vi gått dit. det hadde nok vært et koseligere og rimeligere alternativ. Siden museet ikke var åpent etter kl 1900 og TV ikke virket på rommet var det lite for unge gutter å finne på, etter at vi hadde trålet hele øya. Resepsjonisten visste at TV ikke virket og burte ha fortalt dette ved innsjekk.Det fantes ikke såpass som en kortstokk å få lånt på hotellet. Da vi opplyste om at TV ikke virket ved utsjekk kom det fram at ny resepsjonist ikke hatt fått melding om dette. Det er ikke bra nok. For kostbart for en middels opplevelse. Dersom vi hadde rukket den ene guidede turen om dagen, ville det antagelig vært verd pengene. At gjester til hotellet må betale full pris på fergen er også betenkelig. Sommernatt ved fjorden i kullsort hotellrom
Vi hadde ikke store forventninger, siden dette er en tidligere militærforlegning, men ble likevel overrasket. Vi bestilte et dobbeltrom superior til 2200 kroner, angivelig 26 kvm, skjønt det var vanskelig å tro, selv om badet rimeligvis var inkludert (men hvem reiser rundt med tommestokk på seg?) Rommet var heller lite, kun plass til stol og et ørlite bord under fjernsynet. Langt verre var det at noen hadde gått løs på rommet med svart maling, og tydeligvis trodde de hadde en god idé for hvordan de kunne skape noe skikkelig in og moderne design. Hele rommet, inkludert murveggene, var malt i heldekkende helsvart, vinduskarmene likeså (med den følge at de kokte og rommet kokte av varme. Her må det i rettferdighetens navn tilføyes at det var vifte i rommet). Alle møbler, seng, nattbord, fjernsyn og et svært speil som ikke hang på veggen, men sto og balanserte i et hjørne, var sort. Det var som å gå inn i et hull. Kun det fine været og ikke minst, muligheten for å ta båten til Drøbak om kvelden, hindret en skikkelig nedtur og depresjon. Utsikten var nydelig, det skal de ha. Men standarden, både i gangene og i fellesrommene var stusselig, inkludert frokostsalen (som var bar om kvelden og følgelig mørk og dyster), og selve frokosten som var svært enkel, gjorde at det blir med dette ene besøket for vårt vedkommende.

Oppholdet var bra, fint og rent på rommet. Meget god frokost og flott utsikt. Vanskelig å få kontakt med hotellet på forhånd på tlf, gjør det vanskelig dersom man har soesielle behov eller trenger info i suste liten før oppholdet.

Det anbefales ikke å overnatte på Oscarsborg. Ta heller ferjen tilbake til Drøbak/ Oslo om du skal på Operaforestillingen. Rommet vi fikk var stort, men manglet helt enkle ting som vinglass, glass til tannpuss og skojern. Resepsjonen kunne heller ikke hjelpe med vinglass, da alle disse var reservert for en privat fest. Musikken fra den private festen hørte vi frem til kl. 2 om natten. Det var heller ingen telefon som resepsjonen kunne kontaktes med. I vinduskarmen bak en luke som var til å åpne fant jeg kingelvev, døde innsekter og annet guff jeg ikke tidligere engang har sett i gamle kjellere. Har du ikke husket å bestille rom med utsikt, får du et rom med utsikt rett i en fjellvegg. Informasjonen fra resepsjon var mangelfull og feilaktig. Blant annet ble vi fortalt at frokost startet kl 07.30. Når vi kom til frokost på dette tidspunkt kunne en mann på engelsk fortelle at no no breakfast at 8 o´clock on sunday. Frokosten var en trist opplevelse, gjester måtte etterspørre vann og brød. Egg var ikke å se. Jeg spurte en ung kvinnelig servitør og da fikk jeg til svar at de ikke serverte egg denne søndagen. Dette ble etterhvert korrigert og kl 08.25 var både egg og bacon på plass, kun 25 minutter etter at frokost hadde startet. Trist at hotellet på et så fantastisk sted som Oscarsborg holder såpass lav standard.

Hotellrommene er helt greie, i separate bygg fra selve resepsjonen og restauranten, men det var kort gåavstand og grei standard på rommene.
Det som gjorde oppholdet på Oscarsborg virkelig merkverdig var den fantastiske servicen og humøret på de som jobbet der. I resepsjonen ble vi møtt på en måte som gjorde at vi følte oss oppriktig velkomne.
Resepsjonisten ved innsjekk var engasjert, og ga gode råd om oppholdet. De som jobbet i resepsjonen var alltid tilgjengelige, og hjalp med alt fra å hente ekstra paraplyer til oss når det pøsregnet til å oppdrive gnagsårplaster når det var behov for det.
Vi spiste også middagen i restauranten tilknyttet til hotellet, og igjen var det ikke bare maten som gjorde opplevelsen fin, men den utrolig hyggelige servitøren.
Det er også helt nydelig utsikt over fjorden fra restauranten! Her spiste vi også frokost, der det var godt utvalg av mat. Igjen var det servicen det sto på, da vi fikk lov til å sitte i restauranten lenge over tiden med en kopp kaffe da det bøttet ned ute, så vi skulle slippe gå tilbake til rommet i regnet.
