A pilgrim walking to Assisi

I was walking St Francis Way and stopped at Gubbio. A beautiful small city on the walk to Assisi. The hotel is excellent and the accommodations are superb. Breakfast is also superb. Nothing to complaint about.

Gubbio is fantastic, and this seems to be the best place to stay as it’s very comfortable and close to the public parking. The only problem is the nearby bells that ring loudly every 15 minutes, throughout the night.

It was a nightmare following the GPSto the hotel - caught in very narrow roads. Some staff spoke little or no English / yes it is Italy 🇮🇹 but one was incredibly helpful when I need assistance from Europcar- good luck if you don’t speak Italian - and yes I eventually just paid to have car repaired after 2 days of non assistance. Nice little hotel once you get there but no parking near the hotel so either pay 8 Euros a day nearby or free a bit further and hopefully your car will be there in the morning- bkfst ok and in the room charge. Overall quirky but charming

Best location in Gubbio

Hotel Gattapone was perfect for our one week holiday in Gubbio. It has a prime location (probably the best location in Gubbio) in the centre of this beautiful town. The staff were fantastic, especially Paolo who seemed to be on duty 24 hours a day; he was always warm and friendly and gave us some very useful advice on site seeing and eating out. The room was on the small side but perfectly adequate for a weeks stay and had a beautiful view (room 490). Breakfast was lovely with a good variety of fresh items every day. There is no restaurant as such however the hotel is just metres from a great selection of excellent restaurants and wine bars so this should not be an issue when considering this hotel. Parking is very tight in this ancient town and very limited at the hotel however there is plenty of free parking at the Roman amphitheater which is only a few hundred metres stroll through town: we hired a car from Ancona airport and visited Siena and Assisi during our stay. One minor gripe would be the lack of any English speaking TV channels (a BBC or CNN news would be enough to keeps tabs on what is happening in the real world) however the excellent WiFi throughout the hotel was good enough to stream video on our iPads. Gubbio is an outstandingly beautiful location and Hotel Gattapone is just perfect to see it. Highly recommended.

Excellent location in historic surroundings

My wife and I are taking a slow journey from Ravenna to Rome, stopping along the way. We stayed overnight in Gubbio, which really merits a longer stay. The Hotel Gattapone proved an outstanding choice, with friendly attentive staff, a great location, very good breakfast and a discount off dinner at their sister restaurant Taverna di Lupo (where we had one of the finest meals of our lives and we've been to many restaurants with awards and stars). The feel of the hotel is one of a private chateau or house, with spectacular views and historic furnishings (historic in design, not worn out!). Two pointers: if you cannot sleep through bells, find a place outside town - we had no difficulty sleeping after the excellent food :-) Second pointer: the room is clean, but the carpet is now perhaps ready for replacement - a small opportunity for improvement, not a big deal. We will definitely be staying again when we continue our exploration of Umbria.

Great location in a lovely town. Bedroom a bit dated and dull, but comfortable. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Breakfast OK, if nothing special. Light sleepers should be aware that a town or church clock is nearby and rings out every quarter of an hour, including right through the night. I struggled to get a half decent night's sleep.

great hotel, no services and no wifi that works!

The hotel is very charming and the location is right in the center of Gubbio close to all the main historic buildings. You can walk anywhere and this medieval city is Gorgeous!!! The only thing here is the service. There is no parking close by, the one in front of the hotel are for dropping off your luggage only (that's what they told me). Still there was another couple who arrived same time as us and they were parked there for the three days. So we had to park to another spot outside the walls of the city (15 minutes walk). To make a long story short, we had to carry our luggages to the car 15 minutes away the day of the departure. No help whatsoever, the roads were close for a flea market and they were using the parking spot for the employees, no cabs in gubbio either.

Beautiful place to stay!

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. Hotel Gattepone is wonderfully situated in the centre of Gubbio, very convenient for the sights , shops and transport. We had terrific views from our top-floor window (there is a lift!). All the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were substantial, with excellent service. The city itself is most interesting; the unique 'Tavole Eugubine' in the Palazzo dei Consoli are not to be missed and we were overwhelmed to see the reconstruction of the studiolo in the Palazzo Ducale, the original of which is in the Metropolitan Museum, New York.I loved every minute of our stay there, and if we have the good fortune ever to return to Gubbio I would certainly book into Hotel Gattapone.

This is a reat hotel for the proce we paid.. the only problem we had is that there is no parking for the hotel.. you need to pay 8 euro a night at a public parking lot down a hill to park.. BUT this is not possible on Monday nights or tuesday days as there is a public market in the main square and you are not allowed t park there.. So we had to park outside the city wall and walk about 15 minutes.. it was Ok as the weather was good and all otherwise this could be a problem.
the hotel was great, clean and rooms were big.. the best was the staff.. the oldergentelman.. speak perfect engish and was the nicest person we met.. He served breakfast as if he made every lil thing by hand and made us feel like we were at his home.. it was just perfect and relaxing... if you are not driving or atleast not arriving on monday evening.. this is the best htel in all of gubbio

La struttura è carina e comoda per visitare Gubbio. La colazione è buona e la nostra camera anche se non particolarmente spaziosa, era sufficentemente comoda. Gubbio è una bellissima cittadina che vale la pena visitare.
Le uniche note negative del nostro soggiorno riguardano: il condizionatore in camera un po' rumoroso e l'accesso all'hotel con la macchina un po' difficoltoso in quanto l'hotel è all'interno dello ZTL. L'hotel non ha un area di parcheggio ma si riesce a parcheggiare a circa 150m in area a pagamento e/o a circa a 300/400m in area libera.

歴史的市街地のど真ん中にある為、宿泊客であっても車でのアプローチは不可能ですが、徒歩圏内には有料・無料の駐車場があり不便ではない。フロントの対応は大変親切で、チェックイン時に朝食の内容を決めておくと、翌朝は指定時間に部屋に届けてくれるのも、コロナ禍中でのサービスとしては大変有り難かった。

Il soggiorno di una notte di 4 amici, 2 camere, è stato gradevole. Unico fastidioso inconveniente: avevo espressamente chiesto un posto auto, mentre è stato molto faticoso raggiungere l'albergo per lo scarico bagagli, condotti a mano per più di 150 mt. Difficoltoso è stato in seguito trovare un posto auto. L'addetto alla reception ci ha menzionato un disguido poichè al solito parking convenzionato con l'albergo, è stato occupato da un mercatino. Scusa che non mi convince. Difficile che ritorniamo in questa struttura.

Un bon choix pour découvrir Gubbio

Hotel bien placé dans la vielle ville de Gubbio tout en étant proche du parking de la place des 40 martyrs. Les chambres sont spacieuses, seule la salle de bains est un peu exigue mais elle offre toutefois l'essentiel du confort attendu. Le petit déjeuner buffet est correct et varié.

Attention toutefois, le centre de Gubbio et l’hôtel sont difficiles d’accès en voiture et le pkg public est fermé le mardi à cause du marché.

Trovato pavimento sporco in camera, materasso duro. Camera un po' datata ma nel complesso molto confortevole e luminosa. Doccia perfetta. Colazione buonissima e con molta varieta' di dolci, se pur carente di cose salate. Ottima posizione. Nel complesso un buona esperienza. Prezzo non molto economico ma era un weekend di festa, quindi immagino prezzi alti ovunque.

Buon soggiorno se non fosse per la camera 250 che essendo vicina all'uscita di servizio non ti permette di riposare oltre le 7 del mattino. (Il personale fa avanti e indietro facendo rumore, nonostante l'accortezza di fare tutto senza parlare)

Boa localização, café da manhã justo, cama confortável e quarto limpo. Os atendentes foram cordiais. Não é nada de luxo, mas foi uma boa estadia. Recomendo.

Sehr zentral gelegen und sehr angenehm

Wirklich empfehlenswertes, privates Hotel mit tollem Service.
Wir hatten eine schöne Terrasse und ein nettes, geräumiges Zimmer.
Die Leute sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Grazioso albergo, posizione suggestiva

L'albergo è carino e gradevole, personale gentilissimo. Ottima la prima colazione. Unico neo il parcheggio nella piazza quaranta martiri che è comunque vicino. Ubicato in posizione ideale per visitare Gubbio. Lo consiglio.

Excelente hospedagem em Gubbio

Quarto confortável, banheiro espaçoso. Café da manhã excelente. Localização perfeita, a uma curta caminhada da praça onde chegam e partem os ônibus da cidade. A partir do hotel também se tem acesso caminhando aos pontos turísticos da cidade.

Natale a Gubbio

Ottimo il posto ottimo il sevizio, abbondante colazione a buffet e il te delle cinque. Peccato per il campanile li accanto che suona ogni 15 minuti giorno e notte e per la presenza di numerosi cani per di più con proprietari maleducati! !
