Located in the historic center of Spoleto, it is a charming family-run hotel in the countryside of a former convent and features a floral courtyard, where guests can enjoy a hearty breakfast and their favorite drink.
Some of the spacious rooms of this property include a hydromassage bath or a balcony and all are decorated in pastel colours and come with a marble bathroom. Guests can admire a number of original features in this historic building, including the 18th-century fireplace in the lobby.
Breakfast is in buffet style and includes homemade cakes. During summer.

I am writing regarding our stay beginning March 2, 2026. We originally booked an Ocean Front Junior Suite with a king bed at RIU Palace Baja California.
When we arrived at the front desk at RIU Palace Baja California, we were informed that our reservation was instead at RIU Palace Cabo San Lucas, which was not the hotel we intended to stay at or believed we had booked.
We asked whether we could remain at RIU Palace Baja California. The front desk informed us that it would be possible but that we would need to pay an additional charge. Under protest, we agreed, as we had already arrived and did not want to relocate again.
Unfortunately, the only room available was an Ocean View Junior Suite with twin beds, which is an inferior room type compared with the Ocean Front King Junior Suite we originally booked. In addition, we incurred $250.88 in extra charges plus taxi fees as a result of this change.
Given that we paid more for a room that was a downgrade from our original booking, we believe some form of compensation or refund would be appropriate.
We would appreciate your assistance in reviewing this situation and advising what can be done to resolve it fairly.

I would highly recommend this resort. The staff was great and was a great overall experience. Clean rooms, great settings for lounging or tanning or eating!!! Two suggestions…. WiFi could be better and get more help getting drinks at the pools. On a final note Gray Line dropped the ball picking us up for a ride to the airport. After receiving confirmation from them the night before. The reception staff was very prompt on getting us a taxi so we didn’t miss our flight. That was very much appreciated!!

My family and I recently stayed at RIU Palace Los Cabos to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing and hurtful travel experiences we have ever had.
From the moment we arrived, we were treated unfairly — particularly by Elvia, a front desk supervisor. Her demeanor toward us was noticeably dismissive and unaccommodating. In contrast, we observed her being warm and attentive to other non-African American guests. The difference in treatment was obvious and deeply unsettling.
Our room was not serviced for the entirety of our stay. We had to repeatedly call for fresh towels every single day, and each time we waited over an hour for them to arrive. For a resort that markets itself as luxury and all-inclusive, this level of neglect is unacceptable.
The treatment extended beyond housekeeping. On multiple occasions at the bars, we were skipped over by bartenders while trying to order drinks. Staff would acknowledge and serve white guests standing next to us while ignoring us completely. It was humiliating and made us feel invisible.
We were also extremely disturbed by what we observed in several restaurants. Staff members were handling food with bare hands and scraping food off utensils with their hands before serving guests. The food quality overall was extremely poor — so much so that we ended up eating mostly fruit during our stay.

The treatment extended beyond housekeeping. On multiple occasions at the bars, we were skipped over by bartenders while trying to order drinks. Staff would acknowledge and serve white guests standing next to us while ignoring us completely. It was humiliating and made us feel invisible.
We were also extremely disturbed by what we observed in several restaurants. Staff members were handling food with bare hands and scraping food off utensils with their hands before serving guests. The food quality overall was extremely poor — so much so that we ended up eating mostly fruit during our stay.

At check-in we were given room keys that did not work. No one offered help with our luggage. We had to carry our suitcases to the room, then back again, and only after that were we finally able to enter.
The room itself was awful. There was a strong mold smell, the minibar was half empty, and the safe did not lock. When we asked to change rooms, we were told the hotel was fully booked and that we must contact Expedia to change the room. Seriously? I have never experienced this in any hotel before.

Almost everything was perfect. Our room was really nice, the staff friendly and very helpful, food was incredible. The only 2 items that weren't to our liking were the bed and Destination Services. Our room had 2 standard sized beds pushed together instead of the king sized bed we thought we had requested. What 5 star resort does that? One of us was forced to sleep on the seam where the 2 mattresses came together.This was unacceptable and very uncomfortable like staying at a 1 star motel. One of our cell phones fell between the mattresses and was nearly lost until we pulled the beds apart and it fell to the floor.The bus to the airport for our return trip home was over half an hour late and the driver forgot to load all the luggage and had to return to the Palace after picking up people at the Santa Fe. We were almost late for our flight. These were the only 2 things that were negative during our trip.

Been to this hotel 4 times and very much enjoy it! Very clean, good food and good drinks (actual name brand liqour). With this hotel you have full access to the Sante Fe Next door and the adults only resort (Baja) beside that one as well. The Sante Fe is great for the water slides or the HUGE Foam parties. Highly recommend coming here if you are looking for a high energy resort with lots to do.

From the time we checked in to the time we left Staff was Amazing! Down by the pools Gustavo and Ulisis were wonderful and very attentive. You can tell that the staff is very proud of the hotel and are constantly cleaning and maintaining the property. Our room was very clean with a beautiful view of the ocean . Only had a couple of disappointing things the Rui app doesn't give enough information on things that are going on at the resort and the restaurants are not shown at the correct locations. Second unfortunate thing was after waiting for an hour and a half for the steakhouse we were treated to a cold meal. The staff was very busy and friendly no fault of their own. The Buffet was Great with many choices. We absolutely Loved this resort and can’t wait to return.

During my stay, I opted for the all-inclusive package, which I expected would provide a range of high-quality dining options. Unfortunately, the food quality was subpar, with limited variety and taste that did not meet the standards I associate with the Riu brand. Additionally, I found that the dining areas often lacked availability unless you were on line to receive a buzzer at 6:00 PM. Then by 6:45 they close service. So your only option is the buffet. I would have never stayed here had I known RIU I restaurants are managed like this.
