Lovely welcome to the hotel by one of the maître d's , very friendly, always happy to engage in conversation and very helpful.

Hotel room was lovely and clean on arrival and continued to be throughout the week stay. Achieved great night sleeps due to quietness .

The facilties were great , the pool and sauna were very relaxing and beautiful art all around .

Great location , close to local shops ,cafes and restaurants . 2 min walk to many train umdergrounds.The area was very tranquil.

Overall myself and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would highly reccomend and will likely return.

Disappointing Stay – Serious Hygiene Issues at Breakfast

I stayed at Villa Kastania for nearly three weeks and was deeply disappointed by the condition of the breakfast service. From the very first morning, I noticed poor-quality food at the buffet – wilted cold cuts, questionable salads, and unappetizing cheese. Cleanliness was also lacking, with tables not properly sanitized between guests.

Despite limiting my food intake out of caution, I unfortunately consumed two eggs one morning that appeared fine but led to what I strongly believe was a foodborne illness. I experienced serious stomach issues for days after.

Even after recovering and returning to the breakfast room, I found expired oat milk being served. When I brought this to the attention of the staff (including a manager), my concern was met with visible annoyance rather than genuine care or concern.

As someone with a background in hospitality, I was shocked by the lack of basic food safety and the dismissive attitude toward guest well-being. I cannot recommend this hotel and would strongly urge management to review their hygiene protocols and customer service standards.

I was super impressed by the breakfast, gotta have the breakfast! A bit sad we didn’t get to try the wellness area which looked grandiose

This is a very pleasant and priately owned hotel in the western part of Berlin. Conventiently located close to many immediate walkable adventures, idealy located close to Deutsche Bahn Spandau train station and the closest subway station not even 5 minutes away. It was extremely hot and we only had a small fan in the room. The fridge wasnt working properly and we were told to put a few drinks in it cause its a camper fridge and not to open it many times. The rooms arent sound proof you can hear everything that happens on rooms opposite yours. The pool was broke on arrival and was fixed a week later when we had a couple of days left.

This is a classy property in a lovely neighborhood. Access to the U and S trains is convenient. The pool is Devine and bigger than it shows on the photo. Charming Berlin hotel

Lovely area, quiet but just off a main road with plenty of eating/shopping/drinking options and just a few moments walk from the underground station. A great base for visits to the Olympiastadion.

Very friendly welcome on arrival and throughout stay. Room a little old fashioned but spotlessly clean and very spacious. Huge ensuite with a great shower, good water pressure and two wash basins.

Would certainly recommend and stay again.

we booked this hotel partly due to the good reviews and partly because we know the area very well,( we worked across from theodor heuss platz
in the eighties) and it is very close to restaurants and the u bahn the hotel is is in a quiet street,the staff are very helpful and friendly and after a day of sightseeing and walking about in a very hot Berlin, the pool was a great way to cool down, we used it every day and we always had it to ourselves, the kettle and the fan was a great touch I would recommend the hotel and will definitely be back, many thanks , Mrs Baillie (room 41)

Hotel Kastiana is an updated and well maintained old-school hotel in a very nice neighbourhood. It had everything I needed and I would suggest a parking pass for 15 Euros as the area is residential and fills up in the evening. Room was spacious clean and had everything I needed.

Quaint, breath of fresh air.

I loved the bed and balcony and the neighborhood was a refreshing change of pace from the hustle and bustle of Alexanderplatz. The bathroom was bigger than some NYC studio apartments! I thought the rooms were a bit outdated design wise, but very very comfortable so I grew to like the rugs and tapestries. Super close to restaurants and grocery stores. Relatively close to public transportation, but the front desk scheduled a taxi for me since I left very early the next day that was very prompt. I would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful area; safe, quiet and plenty of food and clothes shopping, with fabulous cafes, all in very close proximity to Hotel. Metro close and easy commute to city centre, and airport.
Hotel facilities perfect including swimming pool with lovely views, and other related facilities including sauna. Rooms very spacious with lovely spacious balcony. Everything we asked for including kettle and bath provided. Beds very comfortable. Breakfasts fabulous setting us up for the day with the wonderful Joseph and staff so attentive, providing very tasteful hot breakfast and buffet all delicious. Rika welcomed us to the hotel, and helped with the wheelchair. Rika was so professional and kind making our stay so easy and comfortable. Rooms so clean and well cared for. Such a great holiday experience. Really felt we experienced Germany at its best.

Visit to Berlin

This hotel seemed a bit far from downtown Berlin. Although it had enough restaurants around and some shops to get by. I found myself walking or taking a cab to locations. The room was very spacious if it was warmer time of year I would have enjoyed the outdoor little patio to sit. The wifi was actually pretty good. The staff was nice and friendly. Although I wish I knew how much it would cost for them to do laundry rather than find out later it cost me 47 euros for a small load of underwear and shirts. They did lay them out in my room which was very nice of them. Some other drunk hotel patron was trying to get into my room in his underwear once night which was odd I think he he confused the rooms. I just saw through eye hole in door. I would stay here again its just not close to much maybe the Olympic stadium a 12-15 walk.

Wonderful Hotel

We arrived late at night and were greeted by a lovely gentleman on reception. He explained about the hotel facilities and then gave us our key. The room was very comfortable and clean, large bathroom 2 sinks, bidet etc The spa facility was a blessing after a day of sighseeing. We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. There are a number of cafes, bars and restaurants close to the hotel. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

Quiet hotel in Berlin-Charlottenburg

The hotel is a short walk from Theodor-Heuss-Platz, a stop on the U2 underground line.
It is a small hotel but the rooms are large. Ours had a sitting room and a terrace.
The facilities were modern. The shower etc. was excellent.
Breakfast was quietly served in a traditional dining room. There are lifts and a swimming pool, which we had no time to use. There is a small surrounding garden with little rhododendrons and conifers. In the street are large German oaks, and some horse chestnut trees. Kastanienallee is not a busy street. The local architecture is of stately apartment blocks. The reception desk staff are helpful and polite. They responded equally in English or German. It would have been nice to have tea-making facilities in the room.
The restaurant did not seem overly expensive. There are additionally two good Pizzeria nearby, and a couple of steak restaurants.

Charming Hotel in a Great Location

Stayed for a weekend trip to Berlin. The hotel is 10-20 minute trip from Tegel Airport by taxi. We didn't spend much time in the locality of the hotel, but the location felt pleasant and safe. The U-Bahn is a 5-minute walk from the hotel, making the hotel ideal as a base to explore Berlin.

The hotel itself was wonderful. Staff were very friendly and happy to suggest activities and places to go, in addition to providing directions. We only went to the restaurant for breakfast, which was a continental breakfast buffet with a wide variety. Again the staff in the restaurant were very accommodating. The hotel and rooms were tastefully decorated throughout and there was a welcoming atmosphere during our stay.

The hotel also has spa/pool facilities, which we did not avail of during our trip. Overall the hotel was very amiable. I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family and would happily stay there again in the future!

Nice hotel in a neighborhood setting

It should be noted that our room had no air conditioning and there was a space heater in the closet. It was quite warm in the room. We were offered a table fan which helped a little, or we could have moved to another room with a/c for an additional 50 euros. We would not have booked this room if we knew it had no a/c.
The hotel room was very clean and seemed to be recently updated in a very traditional style. Bathroom had newer fixtures and one of the best showers we've used. Our ground floor room had a door opening to a nice little terrace but was just off the street so it was a bit noisy all night and too warm to close up the terrace door. A similar room on the quiet side of the building would have been even warmer. The restaurant was closed on the day we stayed but looked very nice. The staff was first rate. We would stay there again.

We love this hotel! We will be back again soon! Specifically booked it before because we had a great experience the last time. They have a nice European breakfast, room sizes are good, and there is a spa in the basement. It's a short walk to Theodor-Heuss-Platz U-Bahn (Metro/Subway) station, and there are several good restaurants in walking distance. Neighborhood is quiet and stay was very very pleasant as always.

The hotel had European charm. It was clean, conveniently located and had a decent restaurant onsite. The room was a little dated but was a decent size. The indoor pool and spa downstairs was a nice addition although I didn't get a chance to enjoy it. The hotel staff was pleasant. Loved the balcony and the bathroom.

Quiet, convenient location near Messe

Hotel is nestled in a quiet side street and a short walk from the Messe and the U bahn, giving easy access to central Berlin. The room smelled a little musty but the bathroom was very good. Our room had a balcony with furniture. Paying for internet by the hour was irritating, especially as it was a slow connection. We did not have breakfast because we did not feel we could eat our money's worth! Hotel pool is small but lovely (also sauna). Reception staff very friendly and helpful.

I can see why others like this hotel and it probably is excellent for most, but I had the worst room in the hotel, next to the entrance and reception. There was no air conditioning which I would not mind but there was also not even a fan and the room had no ventilation. The window could not be opened, the only way to get air was to open the door but it opened (almost) onto the street. The room seemed great value at first, but it wasn't cheap enough for a stifling, hot, sleepless night.

Really Great Hotel With Many Amenities

I really enjoyed this hotel. It was a very pleasant surprise. It is not a fancy or trendy hotel, but it is very nice. The room was comfortable with a large, beautiful bathroom and shower with a rainfall shower head. I was on the ground floor, so I had a fabulous patio with chairs and a table. The hotel had many amenities available. They did cost, but I thought it was a great idea to charge for what you would like, to keep the room rates down. This is a great hotel to stay at if you are planning on spending time in Berlin. It is in a quiet neighborhood, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists. The taxi fare to and from the airport was reasonable. My only issue was that the bed was rather firm. I little too firm for my taste.

My brother and I have both travelled extensively overseas and agree this was the best accommodation ever. Beautiful rooms, spacious bathrooms and friendly and very professional staff. The food was excellent and excellent value for money. Particularly eye catching was the original and very tasteful art in the rooms and public spaces - almost a visit to an art gallery in itself.

good but with obstacles!

I was with my daughter 4 nights in the hotel a guest.
A comfort room of 27 meters was promised me. Choice of 2 beds or a double bed 160x210.

The room was clean, tidy, and tastefully decorated. 27 m room never took it, the bed was not an option sleeping with my mature daughter in a to small 140x210 bed.

Wifi was not included but 3 euros for an hour. There was a small fan for a sense of cooling.
the minibar was barely cooler than outside, the regulator did not work.

bathroom and toilet were clean and nice.
pool and sauna were small but nice with a little garden

through underground good public transport to the station Zoo platz.
Hence all the options.

The hotel is gorgeous, the room is super big, and everything else was just awesome.
Walking distance from the Metro and tons of food places. We had a good experience with this hotel.

Hotel Villa Kastania - exactly what we wanted

The Hotel Villa Kastania was exactly where we wanted for our two night weekend in Berlin, close to friends we were visiting (if slightly far out from the bright lights of the city centre), in a nice, quiet neighbourhood and reasonably priced. We arrived late from the airport, but the reception staff were helpful, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent - there was a very wide choice of nice things to eat. We were out all day until well into the evening, so unfortunately never tried the sauna or the evening restaurant menu. We'll gladly stay here again the next time we visit Berlin

Terrific! Great staff, beautiful hotel!

Convenient location. Right near theodor platz u bahn station, great food nearby including theodor hotel, the hotel villa kastania restaurant has a yummy breakfast, there are a couple of patisseries nearby, and the ICC Conference Center is right there.

I chose the hotel because it was ten minute walk from ICC. It was an excellent choice, just off the main street so quiet and still easily accessible. The u bahn is a few min walk though I did not use the underground . The bus stop is a block away and I felt safe using the bus. The front desk was wonderful, speak English and very helpful. I would stay there again if I return. The only issue was I guess that the so called gym was really just one machine but they have a nice swimming pool

An oasis in the big city

Nice district and close to restaurants and communications, but the hotel itself is in very quiet and pleasant area. The spa and pool was fantastic, rooms quite ok and breakfast buffet very good but a bit expensive. Everything nice and clean, free internet on a laptop at the entrance, WLAN available for a separate fee. Walking distance to the Messegelände, very good for visiting fairs. The grown-up part of our family will return here for stay during next IFA.

Zimmer war super das Personal ist auf unsere wünsche eingegangen. Sauna,Pool und Dampfbad waren sehr schön. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten waren gegeben rund ums Hotel viel Auswahl an Restaurants von indisch bis Blockhaus alles da. Top Hotel zum guten Preis klare Empfehlung.
