The property staff majorly is not really welcoming towards the guests. They serve half glass welcome drink which is a cheap quality syrup. And looks very bad as half glass. They are not ready to even serve customers for silly things as helping get the customer charge the phone for 15 mins. The restaurants have tooo small menu to choose. Indeed nothing to choose much. They don’t sell suite rooms online as they said and compel customers who have taken junior suite to upgrade by paying 50% more than what they have actually paid for junior suite. They itself confessed that they don’t sell regular suite rooms online to do the same. It’s not suitable to be a Accor brand. Very disappointed over all.

We stayed for one evening during our travels and had a sleepless night due to a wedding event happening at the venue. We called reception several times but staff couldn’t confirm when the event would finish. Finally after 12:45am we managed to get some sleep.

Reception party was on going when i checked in. Loud music till 12.45am, staff were no help to say when it wiuld finish and i could get limited sleep.
My daughter in law received innappropriate gestures and contact from a staff member, which made her really scared and uncomfirtable. When i reported thus to management they simply asked the staff oerson to leave his shift that day. Next morning i met the reneral manager but te also seemed not that bothered with the situation. I have asked fir an update with that staff member, i diubt whether they fontact me. Would not stay there again at all.

Our Stay at the Grand Mercure Agra

The sink plug was stuck and though a mechanic came into the room and pulled it out, he never came back to fix it, despite the fact that we called several times. The television set came on every time we entered the room, and we had to wait fifteen minutes or so for it to go off, since the remote didn't work. This, too, was never repaired, despite our requests. The bed was very comfortable.

Amazing hotel!!

We have stayed at many hotels but the Grand Mercure may have been the best hotel experience we’ve ever had from the staff to the cleanliness of the hotel. The entire staff were extremely friendly and were willing to assist in any way they could. One of the staff member that stood out to us was Rajneesh, thank you for your assistance. We really loved this hotel and would definitely come back to stay here again. If I was able to rate the hotel higher I would.

The food could be better. I see that majority of the visitors are non Indians but they need to taste the authentic Indian food. I would not expect to eat a semi authentic altered Moghulai food in Agra with poor taste.

The view of the Taj Mahal from the ‘Taj facing’ room is completely falsely advertised. Whilst it does face the Taj Mahal, it’s so much further away than in the picture, which is definitely photoshopped. Had I known this, I would absolutely not have paid the additional cost for this room.

I was asked in passing by a male member of staff for my room number for no apparent reason, something that made me feel uncomfortable as a lone female traveller - I thought this was unecessary and inappropriate as there was no clear justification. My peephole was also installed incorrectly so that there was a gap and one was able to look in from the outside. This made me feel even more unsafe.

There is a bizarre atmosphere in the lobby - loads of people waiting around and the staff at the front desk always seem to be busy but without actually seeing to anyone. They blast the same 3 songs on repeat and much too loudly.

I would not recommend booking trips and services through the hotel travel agent, they will constantly try to upsell you and it’s a total ripoff. The hotel bars and restaurants are advertised differently but all share the exact same menu.

It was cold and damp in the room. The property was not anywhere near as nice as it seemed on the website. We could not use heat in the room, and we had to use A/C just to try to fight the wetness in the room, so we were freezing and woke up with a cough. The "Taj Mahal view" is non-existent as it is too foggy at this time of year, but they do not tell you that when they up-sell the deluxe room. I would have rather stayed at a Marriott or Hilton for the same price and regret that we didn't. I hate to leave a negative review, but that is our experience, and I would not recommend this place. The rooftop bar/restaurant, however, was fine, and the staff up there was good. They gave me some bad red wine that had turned to vinegar basically, but they opened a new bottle when we pointed it out. Food was good.

This hotel advertise as 5* but it's not a 5* hotel.

They don't provide welcome drink which was mentioned in the booking. When asked they said they forgot.

Room was ok.spacious but toilet needs to be cleaned properly.

The staff were very good and polite.

Food was not great. They need to improve the quality and standard of the food.

Be careful before booking a cab thru the hotel travel desk.

I had booked an Innova from Agra to Delhi. I had to wait more than an hour and at last they sent me some other car. When asked they said Innova is not available. I need to wait some more time.

I was waiting in the lobby for 1 hr and the travel desk didn't update the status.

Overall it was ok but I will not consider staying in the hotel again.

Unfortunately- we started off with a broken-down bathroom. Smelly, extremely humid with mold smell. Although the room was spacious and bed comfortable. The room itself was very unwelcoming. We, thankfully, without much to do, were moved to a higher floor and what a difference did that make. The room smelled better and felt better.

The reception and restaurant are amazing. Bathrooms are comfortable. The pool bar area looked amazing (unfortunately the bar at the top was not being used for obvious reasons).

Take note that the area has a lot of construction going on. It is close to the Taj Mahal though and with some food options at walking distance.

We booked one room with twin bed and another with triple bed. We got very bad and V shaped extra bed for triple bed room. Cant sleep on it. No bath mat, no extra towel for triple bed and need to request each and everything for other ameneties.

VERY BAD....

There was NO PROMPTNESS for any of the service requirement either by front desk or by the service team.
For them 2 minutes is like 20 to 25minutes.

TV was not working at all. Registered a complain with Front desk . Maintenance guy came after 30 min. He was keep on go in & out of my room 4 to 5 times with the set up box letting me alert with MASK ON even during late evening ( the time when you actually wants to lie down & relax.
after approx. 30 to 40 min. he finally assured me that problem has been rectified & TV will be alright just within min. I did not trust him and asked him to stay back .... I was presuming he was bluffing me . & I was right TV was not working even after 15 min. waiting time as well.
I asked them if they could get me a Room change. As we all know now a days most of the hotel are not even 20% occupied. So they could have easily did that.
Again they want to check the possibility for 2 min. ....I keep on waiting for another 20 min. & without any action from their end , I slept & probably after 40 min some one get me wake up with door bell & now the Guy was at door step & asked me I can do the room change....( It was probably mid night then.
I mean these guys do not have a understanding of time limit & very laid down nature .....
Next Day ..The Bath room has a drainage problem. The bath water did not get proper drainage & literally I had to take bath when the water was logged in up to my feet area.

worst stay I ever have in any of the hotel...

Great Hotel, Superb value for money

Easy to get to, a very good new(ish) property with very friendly staff.
Excellent views to Taj from room. Very comfortable bed and room. Very pleased and will return.
The roof top bar and restaurant looked great, however, the tables around pool were not hygienic due to visiting pigeons.

Kept awake as party at sky grill on top floor we were on 4th floor the duty manager lied to me and said it would be over by 11 however it went on till after 12 we were getting up at 5 so didn’t get much sleep I was offered a massage the next day but no one available in spar when manager took me , he ended up giving me a bottle of Jacobs Creek wine , wow ,I am trying to get a full refund

Great Hotel for an Overnight in Agra

I think this is a perfect hotel to stay if you are looking to stay in Agra to see the Taj Mahal. Given that a person should not stay more than a night in Agra, we wanted a high-quality hotel within a reasonable price given we were in the hotel for no more than 12-15 hours. It was clean, offered good restaurants, and everyone who worked at the hotel were incredibly helpful. The hotel is roughly a 10-minute cab ride to the Taj.

This hotel is a very old building without a lift.. you have to walk up by stairs.... facility is very old and bed is terrible... i stayed in their hotels in Agra and Jhansi were pretty nice... this one in Udaipur was terrible.. they even charged for extra bottle water.. i booked a aotu and checked Out at 5 am and there was no auto there.... terrible

This is a hotel that is popular with large tour groups, which is not what we usually book into. But we like to treat ourselves from time to time and after travelling around India for the past 4 weeks it was time. Everything worked well and it was very clean. Dining options were good. Close to the attractions and hotel arranged good cab rides. Rooftop pool and restaurant was beautiful with great view of the Taj. Only thing we didn’t like was the pool temperature. Beautiful pool but no one in it it was so cold.

Hotel has a nice location with good view of the Taj Mahal from the room window but maintenance is terrible. There was awful stench in the corridoor, room locks don't open as the cards seldom work and one has to call for assistance every time. The towels kept in the room are dirty and filthy, housekeeping does not even keep hand towels.
So overall not an experience to be recommended!
They urgently need to pull up their maintenance standards to be relevant among so many hotels in Agra.

To begin, we requested a pick up from the hotel at the train station for ease. The driver greeted us right at the train exit and was friendly. However, while driving us he received a phone call from his “boss” asking to talk to us. Turns out the boss was the travel agent working for the hotel. Not only had we just gotten off a 6 hour train ride, we were hot and tired. The travel agent went on asking us our plans for the next day, how long we were in the city etc, just to try and book us for various packages. We told him we are not interested at the moment. 10 minuets later our driver pulled into a loop and picked up the travel agent!! He proceeded to sit in the front seat and repedtly tried to get us to buy a travel package with him to the Taj, temples, etc. we were in shock but managed to get him to back off, making the rest of the ride somewhat awkward. Next, the staff that checked us in was somewhat standoffish and had an attitude. Not a nice first impression. The room was decent but not worth what we paid. It was somewhat dark with all the dark wood. Bed was very comfortable but various stains on furniture. The shower is poorly designed, no shower Curtain/door, so all the water splashed out on the floor and the glass divider. You could see obvious black mold growing all around the bath sealing. Also, the staff watched our every move and kept following/bugging us about getting a massage or eating dinner in their restaurant to the point of being followed in the elevator.

Overall the hotel was good, but the service could be much improved. There were so many instances when we asked for things, like an extra cup in our room (because the existing dirty cup had not been replaced) or water and they never came. In the restaurant we asked for coffee during breakfast, never came, got the coffee ourselves, then asked for milk, never came.
Every time we got on the lift at least 10 other hotel staff crammed in with us, and got off or on at each level. As a result we also often had to wait long for the lift to come. Surely they can delegate a different lift for staff?
Otherwise everyone was polite and warm and welcoming, but probably they are not trained very well for service quality.

Very much a 5-star hotel

I was a bit hesitant about reading some reviews on this hotel. Some questioned whether it was an actual 5-star hotel. I will make the disclaimer that I had been staying in more traditional Indian hotels that were closer to a 2-3 star rating, so this hotel had the benefit of comparison. However, the staff and service were phenomenal, the room was amazing and the food excellent. All for a reasonable price. I just wish I could have stayed more than one night.
